Recording with a co-host is a way to make an episode yourself, live, with one of your AI hosts working the conversation alongside you. It is not a guest interview: the product's own description is "you co-host live with the AI, not a guest interview." Pick it as a starting point from the Make Episode wizard.
Draft the rundown in Script Desk
After you name a topic, Script Desk opens with an AI-drafted rundown: a list of segments (beats), each with a title, an intent, talking points, possible questions, and an estimated length. Segments marked Must cover get a coral dot in the left rail; everything else is optional filler your co-host can drop if you are running long.
You can edit any beat's title, intent, or talking points, add or remove talking points and questions, reorder segments (drag, or the up/down arrows in the rail), add a new segment, or remove one entirely, up to the maximum segment count. Regenerate re-drafts the whole rundown from your topic. Research sources and Enhance with AI pull in supporting facts and data for a segment; sources show their title, publisher, URL, freshness, and the claim they back. Changes save as a draft automatically; the header shows Saved, Edited (not yet saved), or Saving.
When your rundown is ready, a handoff card explains what happens next: mic and voice check, who's in the room, how much your co-host drives the conversation, and consent, all in the green room right before you go live.
The green room
Click Proceed to green room to run through tech checks before recording starts. The green room covers:
- Mic and camera shows a live level meter for your microphone and a camera preview if you plan to record video. Recording cannot start until your mic is granted; if it fails, the card explains how to allow access in your browser.
- Consent is where you acknowledge that audio (and video, if enabled) will be captured for this episode and remembered for your account.
- Set the tone is a dial from "I lead" to "AI leads" that controls how much your co-host drives. At one end it mostly reacts to you, in the middle it trades initiative and challenges your points, and at the other end it opens every segment, enforces your must-cover items, and keeps the episode on time. You can nudge this dial live during the recording too.
- Who's in the room shows you and your AI co-host, marked ready once your mic check passes. Guests in this room are not yet supported.
- What you'll cover summarizes the rundown you drafted, with a link back to Script Desk to change it.
- Session settings lets you turn video recording on or off (video feeds clip generation later) and set a target duration to help your co-host pace the segments.
What happens when you record
Once you click Start recording, here is the shape of the session:
- Your co-host says hello and asks one warm-up question. This part is not recorded.
- It works through your rundown in order, following what you actually say rather than reading it verbatim.
- If you stumble, say "let me try that again." Your co-host waits, and the retake replaces the flubbed line.
- At the end, your co-host closes the episode. Every take, including retakes, is available afterward so you can keep or cut what you want.
You can stop at any point and keep what you already recorded. If you leave and come back before finishing, Script Desk and the green room reopen where you left off; once recording has actually started, returning to this session takes you straight back into the room instead.
What to do next
After recording, review your takes and build the finished episode the same way you would for any other recording. See Edit your episode script and Publish an episode.
