Happy New Year! The first episode of the Negative World Podcast for 2014 has released! It's a doozy too! Packed full of content, Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) are joined by, Andrew (Zero) for another 150+ minute episode.
After some welcome-back-banter, the fellas tackle a whopping eight different games they're all playing. These range from some of the hot-items like Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds to some older titles like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Steamworld Dig.
After the 90 or so minutes of that, there's an hour-long discussion of the old Super Mario cartoons from the early 1990s. The gang remembers, reflects, rejoices, and re-considers what worked or didn't work in the three different cartoon series' that hit the US shores back then. They also fondly remember Captain Lou Albano and 'Danny Wells'. This discussion is an extension of the special audio treat found in Episode 57 of the show. With that said, Andrew has prepared a finessed version of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show theme song as performed by our beloved Negative World members. Be sure to give it a listen, whether in the episode or via the download link below.
A big thanks to Zero for the theme music as usual. Between a very busy week immediately after recording and then the holidays, I apologize but I hope this episode finds you well. Today is the last day of 2013 and I made a promise to you and the myself that this would release before the year's end.
DrFinkelstein and Ninsage are joined by an old friend, Roykoopa64, the Koopa with the pink sunglasses.
The show starts with something special and ends with something special so please stay tuned throughout! As for what's inside... you'll find the guys talk about Super Mario 3D World, Pokemon X&Y, as well as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. After a shorter round of Box Art Trivia, they dive in to a lengthy discussion of the games they've played this past year.
A big thanks to Negative World's creator, Zero for the theme music. This episode showcases some great tracks from Super Mario 3D World in the interludes.
Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! The Negative World crew goes Poke-crazy in this Pokemon-centric episode. Clocking in at over two and a half hours, there's enough podcast to fill a Snorlax's belly!
DrFinkelstein and Ninsage invite two of Negative World's finest, Super_Conzo and Deathly_Hallows.
The thing is, they're both new to the Pokemon series with Pokemon X&Y. At first we get a glimpse into what their current Pokemon rosters look like. Considering everybody starts off in the same place, there is surprising diversity between everyone. Then the gang dives into the nitty gritty of Pokemon and specifically Pokemon X&Y. From the graphics to the Pokemon typing, and even an interesting look at the true potential of the Mega Evolution concept, this podcast has something for everyone.
A big thanks to Negative World's creator, Zero for the theme music. This episode lacks interlude music because there's just so much content, I couldn't bare to pad it further with music. Though I highly recommend to check out the various Pokemon soundtracks. They're quite stellar.
Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! Episode 55 is a special episode indeed, and not just for repeating numbers...
DrFinkelstein and Ninsage sit down with Negative World's own TriforceBun (Matthew Taranto) in an extended interview.
For the first half, the trio discusses Matthew's webcomic, Brawl In The Family... which as of this podcast publishing contains 525 comics! The second half of the show is an in-depth look at the heart and soul of Matthew's new game, Tadpole Treble. He just launched a Kickstarter and so far it's going strong. Will you support Matthew and Tadpole Treble? You can do so at the Tadpole Treble Kickstarter Page. Listen to find out what makes this music-rhythm game unique and why it isn't quite a prequel to Blaster Master... despite the hopes and dreams of Ninsage.
A big thanks to Negative World's creator, Zero for the theme music. This episode lacks interlude music, but the special inclusion you hear at the start is actually a piece of Matthew's The History of Nintendo, a special animated webcomic he did for the 400th comic milestone.
Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! Alas our big fiftieth episode! I know it has been a while since our last podcasts from E3 and I, DrFinkelstein, apologizes. We recorded this right at the end of June but personal and professional business has caused various delays. Still, I'm not in the business of excuses so lets just move forth and enjoy the show!
Episode 50 brings DrFinkelstein and Ninsage discussing gaming apparel, some great games being played, and then ending the first act with a fun Box Art Guessing Game! Act II finds your faithful hosts discussing what games would start truly rounding out their Nintendo libraries. It's a bit of fun wishful thinking.
Links to the Shirt-related Websites are as follows; Threadless ||| Shirt Punch ||| Shirt.woot
As per usual, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner, Zero. The trusty NinSage is along for the ride with some special impressions of his own!
The trio discuss particularly the following upcoming titles... Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Smash Bros., and more! It's the end of E3 Week 2013!!!! All of us Negative Worlders had to stay home from the big event but a group of us still got together on Wednesday night to record the big E3 special, Legitimate Toad Is Missing!!! Yes, that also means this podcast is out in record time. Don't get used to the two-day turn-around,... ;)
Still, this episode we have a fantastic foursome in the form of Kriswright, TheBigG753, and NinSage co-hosting along with everyone's second-favorite doctor (to Dr. Mario of course), DrFinkelstein!
They discuss E3 2013 at length in this nearly two-and-a-half-hour podcast. Games discussed include but are not limited to, Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, and much much much more!!! Give it a listen. If you're not normally a listener of the enhanced podcast, you might want to start. It is broken down by game/topic with it's lovely useful chapters.
As per the norm, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner, Zero. The interlude music is nonexistent. We just talk, talk, talk. Content. Content. Content! No breaks!
Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! We apologize for the distinct tardiness of this episode. Various brand new technical difficulties made this episode tricky. In fact, until the eleventh hour we didn't think the La Mulana discussion would be able to be in. Alas though it was and hence the episode is named in honor. This episode finds Zero guesting and discussing some Mario and a unique Playstation game that looks more like it should be on a Nintendo console. NinSage describes his struggles through La Mulana and other games he's actually enjoying. Finally, DrFinkelstein briefly mentions some Nintendo games he's been playing only to go into a rant about the Zelda Oracle series he hopes to play. [Fun Fact, by now he's beaten Seasons and on to Ages].
Then they dive into yet another Nintendo Direct discussion. These NDs happen often eh? Zero finishes the podcast with discussion of his time at ACEN this year.
As per the norm, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner, Zero. The interlude music is from Pikmin.
Comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! It's a mere four days from the release of Animal Crossing New Leaf on 3DS. To celebrate this wonderful fact of life, Ninsage joins me, DrFinkelstein, in the first ever special edition of the Negative World Euphonic podcast! In this episode we dive into ten K.K. Slider songs from the original Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo Gamecube. Between each of these we discuss not just the songs, but the series itself, and I spend some time debating with Ninsage on why he should get his feet wet for the first time.
We hope you enjoy this special edition. There was no word of it's coming and no prior nomination/voting thread. This is just pure celebration! So kick back and enjoy... the coolest dog-musician gaming has ever known... and his wildly unique vocal ability.
Comment on the music, the show, etc. on Negative World, Facebook or, Twitter.
Enjoy the show!
Full list of episodes
Direct Link Download
Episode Available in Both .mp3 and .m4a formats. Finally, DrFinkelstein zips through what's keeping him busy, including the non-Nintendo game, Bioshock Infinite.
As per the norm, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner, Zero. This time, NinSage tells you all about how he literally 'caught em' all" and DrFinkelstein gushes about Lego City: Undercover. Later, the Duck Tales remake announcement is discussed which leads into the whole "remake" phenomenon in general.
As usual, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner and dictator, Zero.
