Over the course the episode we talk about how this film is both not very Peckinpah (with its humour, romance and gentle spirit. Hell, it even has musical number) and is very Peckinpah (it has number of the regular Peckinpah players, a deep cynicism about authority figures and is once again about the death of the west). Plus, we talk about how it is a film so good that one of the leads (Randolph Scott) retired after its release as he thought it was such a perfect capstone to his storied career.
