Dr. Anthony Fauci sat in front of the Senate this week and refused to answer a single question — pleading the Fifth Amendment 111 times. Republicans wanted answers on his role in the Covid pandemic. Instead, they got the same 24-word sentence, over and over. But does a presidential pardon actually protect him from pleading the Fifth? We break down the two legal arguments — Fauci's team says yes, DeSantis and Rand Paul say no — and why Florida just opened its own investigation regardless of what happens in Washington. Tonight I'm joined by independent journalist Jason Lavigne to break down the hearing, the legal fight over the pardon, and what happens next. We also get into Alberta — the $13 billion Meta data centre, the $70 billion Wonder Valley project, and the new Trans Mountain pipeline deal — and what it means for the Alberta independence movement. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. A viral video is spreading fast: a man claims his Ford Bronco shut down mid-drive on a busy freeway over one missed payment. Here's what we do know — Ford filed a patent for a system that lets a car disable itself, lock its own doors, and in some cases drive itself to a repo lot or scrapyard. That patent was abandoned. But the underlying technology? Ford sells it today, built into select 2026 models, under a name that sounds a lot less alarming than what it actually does. So is this one video real, staged, or something in between? And if it is real — was it even Ford, or someone else with access to the same kill switch? Tonight we break down the patent, the tech that already exists in your car right now, and whether what happened on that freeway is even legally possible. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. What started as automated license plate recognition has evolved into an AI-powered surveillance ecosystem that combines cameras, drones, gunshot detection, cloud-based investigations, and artificial intelligence into a single network designed to detect, respond, and investigate. Tonight, we expose what Flock Safety actually is, how its technology works, why it's being adopted across North America, and whether Canadians should be paying closer attention. We'll cover: 🚨 AI-powered license plate readers (ALPR) 🚨 PTZ cameras that automatically track people 🚨 Gunshot and audio detection technology 🚨 Autonomous security drones and first responders 🚨 Flock's "Safe City" surveillance platform 🚨 Privacy concerns and real-world abuses 🚨 Flock's partnership with Canadian company Genetec 🚨 Could this be coming to Canada? This isn't about fighting crime. It's about understanding the technology that's quietly changing policing—and asking whether we've had any real say in how it's will be used. 👇 Let me know in the comments: Would you support an AI-powered surveillance network in your community? A viral video of a Sikh influencer being kicked out of GoodLife Fitness for wearing a visible, multi-knife setup has split Canadians into two camps — those who say GoodLife violated the Charter, and those who back the employee's decision. But there's already a legal precedent here. In the landmark 2006 Supreme Court of Canada case Multani v. Commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys, the Court ruled that an absolute ban on the kirpan violates freedom of religion — but it's not a blanket protection. The ruling set specific conditions: the kirpan must be concealed under clothing, securely sheathed, and fixed in place to prevent easy removal. So did this influencer actually meet those conditions? I sit down with lawyer Daniel Freiheit, founder of Lion Advocacy, to break down what the ruling actually says, how it applies here, and why the same law that concealed carry of a knife is a criminal offence for most Canadians. We also look at the reaction from lawyer Gurratan Singh — brother of Jagmeet Singh — and a second viral video involving the same influencer discussing the "Sant Sipahi" identity and the right to bear arms. This isn't about attacking anyone's faith. It's about understanding what the law actually requires — and whether it was followed. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is reporting that some Canadians are being contacted at home by government officials — over social media posts made months, even years ago. But there's a problem: Bill C-9 isn't retroactive. It only applies to conduct on or after July 18th, when the law came into force. So if these posts are old, why are people being contacted now? Tonight I break down the JCCF's claim, what the actual law says about retroactivity, and look at two recent cases — a man visited by the RCMP over calls to burn government buildings, and a woman visited by Toronto police over an alleged threat against the Prime Minister — to ask the real question: is this Bill C-9, or are these Canadians being contacted because they broke laws that already existed? Then we get into the trade war. Donald Trump just hit Canada with new 50% tariffs on nearly $20 billion in imports — everything from wine to hockey sticks to cement — while sparing energy, potash, critical minerals, and fish. We break down what Trump actually said, why he's blaming Canada's leadership directly and not Canadians, and what his senior trade advisor Peter Navarro had to say about it. We also cover Doug Ford's response — his repeated calls to block oil and potash exports to the U.S. as retaliation — and why Danielle Smith flatly rejected the idea in Charlottetown. Mark Carney's own response to Trump's tariffs, and how nine provinces just agreed to lift interprovincial alcohol trade barriers in response to the trade war, all get covered too. Plus, we hear directly from a Canadian business owner on what this actually means on the ground. This is a big one. Let's get into it. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Bill C-9 is now law — and Mark Carney's government is celebrating it. They're calling it stronger protection: tougher penalties for hate crimes, a ban on hate symbols, new tools to protect access to places of worship. But when you actually read the bill, the picture gets a lot more complicated. Who decides what counts as a hate symbol? Why were nooses added to that list, but not the public street prayers that blocked access to one of Canada's most iconic churches for weeks? And why does the government insist there's no plan for a national digital ID — while quietly testing exactly that, the same week this bill became law? Tonight, I break down the actual text of Bill C-9, what it really means for Canadians, and the digital ID rollout nobody's talking about. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Ontario is burning. 185 wildfires are active right now, and year-to-date fires are already well above both last year and the 10-year average. Toronto's air quality just ranked 5th worst in the world — worse than New Delhi and Lahore, two cities that normally top that list. So what's actually causing this? Doug Ford's government cut the emergency forest firefighting budget by 24% last year — then spent double what they budgeted anyway. Convenient timing for a government now blaming climate change. But there's another angle almost nobody is talking about: glyphosate. Ontario forestry sprays it. So does most of the country. And it dries out exactly the kind of vegetation that turns a forest into fuel. Tonight, I break down the numbers, the budget, and the theories — some call them conspiracies, I call them questions worth asking. RCMP allegedly showed up at a man's door over posts he made on social media. Is this the beginning of Bill C-9 enforcement? Or did he actually break one of the laws that already exist — uttering threats, criminal harassment, hate propaganda, or intimidation? Barry Neufeld, former Chilliwack school trustee, was found by the BC Human Rights Tribunal to have violated the Human Rights Code through his public statements opposing SOGI 1 2 3 — and ordered to pay damages estimated at $750,000. Now he's taking his case to the BC Supreme Court, arguing the Tribunal made 12 legal errors and that his statements were protected free speech, not discrimination. Tonight, Barry joins me to walk through his case: the jurisdiction argument over online speech, the Charter challenge, what this could mean for every Canadian posting about controversial policy online, and what this fight has actually cost him. Case referenced: CTA v. Neufeld (BC Human Rights Tribunal, 2026 BCHRT 49), Neufeld v. Mark Carney admitted he learned from Donald Trump. And while he claims not to fully subscribe to Trump's flooding the zone tactic, that is exactly what he has been doing. In just 14 weeks, the Liberal government passed 21 bills through the House of Commons. That is 1.5 bills a week. And out of those 21 bills, 7 were expedited using time allocation motions — essentially forcing bills through Parliament with limited debate. Green Party Leader Elizabeth May, who has been an MP since 2011, called it the worst use of time allocation and omnibus bills she has ever seen. The Bloc, the NDP and the Conservatives all said the same thing. But here is what nobody else is talking about. Three of those rushed bills will fundamentally change how speech is handled in Canada. Bill C-9 — The Combating Hate Act — criminalizes emotions and removes the good faith religious protection from the criminal code. It takes effect on July 18th. Bill C-16 — The Protecting Victims Act — could make deliberately misgendering someone a criminal offence. Legal experts confirm the path to prison exists. Bill C-22 — The Lawful Access Bill — forces Electronic Service Providers to store all of your metadata for up to one year without a warrant. And metadata is not even defined in the bill. C-9 controls what you say. C-16 controls how you say it. C-22 lets the government monitor everything to make sure you comply. This is not a coincidence. This is a strategy. And I will bet everything I own that when Parliament returns in September, Bill C-34 will be next. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. No corporate, government or political money, just you! Canada's gun ban challenge is currently before the Supreme Court. The ruling is not expected until mid to late next year. The amnesty is on hold yet Mark Carney just signaled that more gun bans are coming anyway. This week Carney announced that Canada is moving toward an expert-led firearms classification system led by the RCMP. That means an unelected police force would have the power to reclassify any firearm in Canada with a stroke of a pen. No parliamentary debate. No vote. No due process for legal gun owners. Tonight CCFR Vice President of Public Relations Tracey Wilson joins me to break down exactly what Carney said, what an RCMP-led classification system means for every legal gun owner in Canada, whether the SKS will be next on the banned list, what happens to the CCFR's Supreme Court challenge if new legislation is tabled before the existing ban is even ruled on, and whether the government could ban the SKS for everyone except Indigenous communities. We also break down Carney's non-answer when asked directly whether banning assault style firearms would prevent mass shootings — and what he actually revealed when he said "that wasn't the case in this instance." At 7:30PM we are joined by Jeff Evely — the man who was fined $28,872.50 for taking a walk in the woods of Nova Scotia — to speak about the outcome of his case and what it means for Canadians. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Are Canadians About To Lose The SKS? Mark Carney Just Signaled Another Gun Ban Is Coming The Montreal shooting on Monday has already become a political weapon. Before the investigation is even complete, the Mayor of Montreal is calling for tougher gun control and PolySeSouvient is demanding an SKS ban. And today Mark Carney signaled that new gun legislation is coming. The SKS is Canada's most popular rifle. Between 600,000 and 1 million are currently in the hands of legal Canadian gun owners. It is non-restricted. It is widely used by Indigenous communities across the country for its affordability and reliability in harsh northern climates. And the government wants to ban it. We have seen this before. After the 2020 Nova Scotia shooting, the Liberals used an Order in Council to push through sweeping gun bans overnight with no parliamentary debate, no vote, and no due process for legal gun owners. Are we are about to see the same playbook used again? Tonight I am joined by independent journalist Jason Lavigne for another episode of East Meets West to break down what Mark Carney actually said today, what an expert-led firearms classification system controlled by the RCMP would actually mean, what happens to the current gun amnesty and the CCFR Supreme Court challenge if new legislation moves forward, and why legal gun owners keep paying the price for crimes they did not commit. We are also joined at 7:30PM by Jeff Evely — the man who was fined $28,872.50 for taking a walk in the woods of Nova Scotia — to speak about the outcome of his case. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. Or does it create something much bigger? Join us live and decide for yourself. Is the 2026 Long Form Census unconstitutional? Tonight on The Political Orphans, Nico Lagan is joined by Charter advocate and Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms lawyer Hatim Kheir to break down the legal challenge against the 2026 long-form census. Canadians are being told that the census is mandatory under the Statistics Act. But how far does that authority actually go? Can the government compel Canadians, under threat of penalty, to answer deeply personal questions about their household, identity, health, work, housing, and private life? In this episode, we discuss: • Whether Canadians are legally required to complete the census • The difference between the short-form and long-form census • Whether Canadians can request the short form instead • What penalties exist under the Statistics Act • Whether the long-form census violates Charter privacy protections • Whether selecting only 25% of households for the long form raises legal questions • What authority Statistics Canada enumerators actually have • Where census authority ends and private property rights begin • The constitutional challenge launched against parts of the 2026 long-form census This is not about refusing basic population counting. This is about asking whether mandatory census power gives the government unlimited authority to collect deeply personal information from Canadians. 💲This show is 100% listener funded. The Liberals placed a guillotine motion on Bill C-22 this week.30 minutes. That is all the time Parliament gets to review a bill that gives the government access to every Canadian's metadata for up to one year. And metadata is not defined anywhere in the bill. Not once. That is not an accident.Today metadata means transmission data — who you contacted, when, from where. Tomorrow it can mean everything inside the envelope. Every message. Every file. Every piece of content transiting through any Canadian network.By rushing this bill through before summer break, they never have to define it.And while everyone was watching the social media ban debate — including me — Bill C-8 became law yesterday. The bill that gives the government the power to cut anyone off the internet is already law.By the end of this summer Bill C-8, Bill C-9 and Bill C-22 could all be law.The only bill left will be C-34.They got us.💲This show is 100% listener funded. Same justification. Same language. Same polling numbers around 70% public support. Liberal and conservative parties in agreement everywhere. And they all want you to verify your identity with a government ID just to log in. Since when does the left and right agree on anything? The social media ban is not about your children.
