Send us Fan Mail You are managing your diet. You are taking your medication. And your blood sugar is still all over the place. Here is something most people never consider. The problem might not be what you are doing. It might be when you are doing it, and whether any of it follows a consistent pattern from one day to the next. Without a daily rhythm underneath your efforts, blood sugar does not have anything to hold onto. Meal timing gets inconsistent. Sleep schedules bounce around. Medication windows get missed. And the whole thing starts to feel like you are starting over every single week. In this episode we are talking about daily rhythm. The habit that holds every other habit together. And what happens to your blood sugar when it is missing. Here is what you will learn: Why your blood sugar can already be elevated before you eat a single bite in the morning What the dawn phenomenon is and why over 50% of people with type 2 diabetes experience it How eating and sleeping at irregular times quietly lowers your insulin sensitivity Why consistency in your sleep schedule matters more than how many hours you get How to attach your diabetes tasks to habits you already have so they actually stick A five step morning routine you can start tomorrow If you are tired of starting over, this one is for you. Send us Fan Mail Most people with type 2 diabetes have never had a real conversation about their kidneys. Your doctor has been checking them at every visit. But did anyone explain what those numbers mean, what’s actually happening inside your body, or what you should be asking? In this episode, I’m breaking down what your kidneys actually do, what type 2 diabetes is doing to them right now, and the six questions you need to bring to your next doctor’s appointment. I also share my own story from the summer of 2020, when my glucose hit 420, my A1C was at 12 percent, and my triglycerides were at 495. My kidneys were being hit from three directions at once. And I had no idea. What you’ll learn in this episode: Why 1 in 3 people with type 2 diabetes has kidney disease right now, and 9 out of 10 have no symptoms. What your kidneys are actually doing every day beyond filtering. How high blood sugar and high blood pressure create a damage cycle that feeds itself. Why a 2024 study found your kidney is literally sending alarm signals to your brain. A 2025 discovery showing potassium-rich foods may suppress kidney glucose overproduction through an entirely insulin-independent pathway. The two specific tests to ask for at your next appointment. Six questions to ask your doctor, word for word. This is one of the most important episodes I’ve recorded. If you have type 2 diabetes, this conversation is for you. Send us Fan Mail You know what you're supposed to eat. So why does a hard day send you straight to the kitchen? It's not weakness. It's not a lack of discipline. It's biology. In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly what's happening in your brain and your body when stress hijacks your eating habits. If you're managing prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, this matters more than you think. Stress doesn't just affect your mood. It raises your blood sugar before you take a single bite. Then the foods you reach for to cope spike it again. That's two hits from one hard day. In this episode, you'll learn why the stress-eat-regret cycle keeps repeating, what cortisol and dopamine have to do with your cravings, why people with type 2 diabetes are neurologically more vulnerable to these triggers, and five practical steps to interrupt the pattern starting today. This is the follow-up to our last episode on chronic stress, and it's where the rubber meets the road. You are not broken. You just need to understand what's running the show. Let's get into it. In this episode, you'll learn: How cortisol raises your blood sugar even when you haven't eaten a thing Why chronic stress and insulin resistance are directly connected How stress triggers cravings and drives weight gain — especially belly fat Why your blood sugar and cholesterol may not improve no matter how clean you're eating 7 research-backed strategies to manage chronic stress and support better metabolic health Chronic stress is not just mental — it is metabolic.
