For generations, women were handed a story: marry well. Find someone who could provide the security, the stability, the freedom. Someone whose presence meant you could finally rest and feel safe. I understand that wish more than I'd like to admit. Several years ago, after a season of profound loss and rebuilding, I realized I never wanted to create a business that depended on me showing up every single day, no matter what was happening in my life. I wanted to build something that could hold and support me financially through all of life's seasons—just as much as I hoped a loving partner would. In this episode, I introduce the idea of "business husbanding": creating the systems, recurring revenue, and structure that allow your business to become a generous partner rather than a demanding one. I share how this shift transformed my own life and business, the question I now ask every woman I mentor, and why building a business that supports you isn't about becoming more productive—it's about creating true freedom, stability, and sovereignty. Because the greatest gift your business can offer isn't just an income. It's becoming a relationship that allows you to rest, trust, and know that you've built something capable of holding you through every season of your life. RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: You've invested in healing. You've grown your business. Your work changes lives. So why doesn't your income consistently reflect the depth of what you offer? The Real Reason Your Business Keeps Getting More Complicated (and Why Simplifying Isn't Where You Start) Most women I work with don't actually want a bigger business. They want a business that feels lighter, more spacious, and gives them the freedom they imagined when they first became entrepreneurs. And yet somewhere along the way, their business became more complicated instead of more life-giving: more offers, more audiences, more things to maintain. In this episode, I'm sharing why I no longer believe complexity is the real problem. I think it's a symptom. Through the story of packing for a month on the Portuguese coast, the mistakes I made in my first business, and the journeys of two remarkable women I’m mentoring, I'll show you why simplicity isn't something you create by cutting things away. It's something that naturally emerges when you're clear about the life you're building toward. Because simplifying your business isn't really about having less. It's about finally learning how to build from the inside out. RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: You've invested in healing. You've grown your business. Your work changes lives. So why doesn't your income consistently reflect the depth of what you offer? This past winter, I named a desire I'd carried for years, along with a long list of practical reasons why it couldn't happen this summer. Within about thirty seconds, the reasons had already won. Except the desire didn't go away. And as life often does, it found a way of bringing that desire into being anyway. It's the same pattern I see in so many of the women who come to me: wise, accomplished women who've done years of inner work, invested in countless trainings, and still find themselves unable to take the next step toward the life and business they say they want. In this episode, I'm sharing why I no longer believe the thing so many of us say when we're standing at the edge of something important: "I just need to get a little clearer first” or “I need to wait for a better time.” Because what often looks like a lack of clarity or inconvenient timing is something else entirely. I'll share what I've learned about the parts of us that step in just before we're about to go for it, why more information or waiting rarely creates the readiness we're hoping for, and the one question that can help you tell the difference between needing more clarity and being afraid to want what you truly want. This past month handed me two things I didn't plan for: my father's death, and a record-breaking heat wave that made our apartment in Bordeaux uninhabitable for two weeks. Both came back-to-back, with no warning and no gradual transition. Just: life arriving and asking everything to hold. In this episode, I'm sharing what those two experiences revealed about my business and why I think this is one of the most important (and least talked about) aspects of building a sustainable business as a woman. Because here's what I know now: your business either holds you during the hard seasons, or it doesn't. And the gap between those two versions isn't luck. It's a design choice — one we need to make long before the crisis arrives. I'm also talking about the IFS parts that make it so hard for many of us to build this kind of infrastructure, the longer arc of where I am in my business right now, and the one question I want to leave you with that will show you exactly where your next layer of work is. What if the most exhausting, dysfunctional relationship in your life is the one you have with your business? For many of us — especially those doing soul-led, heart-centered work — the line between who we are and what we do has become almost invisible. We don't just have a slow week. We are a slow week. Rest feels unsafe. Worth lives in output. And somewhere along the way, devotion became dependency. In this episode, I'm sharing what living in France is revealing about work, identity, and the kind of exhaustion that comes from fusing with your business rather than being in relationship with it. This is an invitation to untangle, to choose sovereignty, and to discover what becomes possible when you stop being your business — and start truly leading it. If you've been exhausted by what visibility has required of you (the hooks, the reels, the constant performance for an algorithm that doesn't align with your values), keep reading. Two months into launching my own Substack, elle-même , I am going all in on the platform I believe finally rewards what women of depth have always brought: real voice, earned trust, and ideas that can't be flattened into a caption. In this episode, I share what I've discovered about Substack as a visibility path for women in spiritual entrepreneurship: why it feels like social media did back in 2010, why I believe it's structurally aligned with a more feminine, relational way of being visible, and why I'm helping the women I mentor get over there too. If you're a healer, coach, therapist, teacher, or wisdom-keeper who wants to share your work in ways that feel enjoyable and authentic to who you are, I encourage you to listen in today. There's a particular kind of relief that comes when your business finally starts to reflect who you actually are. And I need to warn you, not every business conversation sounds like this one! In this episode, I'm joined by three women from the current cohort of her Self CEO — Courtenay Mastain, Reise Tanner, and Anna Pell — for an honest, intimate conversation recorded at the very end of our journey together. What you'll hear is rare: a real-time glimpse into what shifts when your inner work and outer work happen in the same container. These women come from different backgrounds, different businesses, and different seasons of life. And yet the thread running through all three of their stories is the same. When your business finally reflects who you are, everything changes. If you're standing at your own kind of threshold, you'll find yourself in every one of these women's stories. There's a belief many accomplished women carry that we rarely say out loud: if it didn't cost you everything, it doesn't count. In this episode, I trace a pattern that followed me from late-night finals in college to leading week-long retreats around the world. The belief that success and depletion are two sides of the same coin. And I share the moment a therapist asked me a question that changed everything. We explore what happens when accomplished, high-functioning women stop performing leadership and start participating in it, and what becomes possible when you let go of the belief that it all has to cost you everything. If you've ever worn your exhaustion as a badge of honor, this is your invitation to set it down. What if your business isn’t an object you manage… but a living entity in relationship with you? In this episode, I share a perspective that changed everything for me: your business has its own highest self, its own intelligence, and its own evolutionary path. And it chose you as much as you chose it. We explore how fear, resistance, and recurring patterns in your work are not obstacles but spiritual trailheads, pointing toward the parts of you ready to be healed and reclaimed. If you’ve been feeling friction in your business, this conversation invites you to listen differently. To your inner world, and to your business itself. What if I told you that you could attract more of your right-fit clients…without posting on Instagram every day? If you're a highly sensitive woman running a business, you know this exhaustion intimately: The constant pressure to show up on social media. The dread of creating content that feels performative. The loneliness of figuring it out all by yourself. And now—AI everywhere, making you feel like you're falling even further behind. Here's what I'm seeing: Some prominent voices are shaming women for using AI. Others are just copy-pasting, leaving no authentic voice. And studies show women are already falling behind men in adopting this technology. Meanwhile, you're stuck in the middle—exhausted, overwhelmed, and wondering if there's another way. There is (and it doesn't require you to dance on TikTok or master complicated tech). In this episode, you'll discover: The real reason you need AI (it's not about being "tech-savvy"—it's about whether your ideal clients can actually find you when they're searching for help) How AI can end your lonely workdays (and make the parts of business you dread—like writing sales copy—actually enjoyable) The paradigm shift that changes everything: from visibility marketing (exhausting daily posts) to discoverability marketing (being found when people need you) My exact process for partnering with AI (the back-and-forth that keeps your authentic voice while reducing your workload) Why your beautiful Instagram posts disappear within hours —and what to create instead so your work can be discovered months or even years from now The one diagnostic question How to position yourself so AI recommends you to ideal clients —while you're sleeping, walking your dog, or taking your sabbatical Ready to stop exhausting yourself and start building a business that honors how you're actually wired? What if the real path to a thriving business isn't about doing more, but about doing less with more intention? In this first episode of the year, I'm reflecting on what's shifted since moving to France and taking an unexpected two-month break from the podcast. What's become clear is this: I'm committed to a business that feeds my soul as much as it serves the world. A slower, more sacred way. And I want to invite you into this with me. This isn't about checking out or playing small. It's about building a business that's deeply authentic, sustainably creative, and grounded in presence, not pressure. In this episode, I share: Why slow business is about doing what matters from a grounded place Five tangible benefits of leading a slow business (and how to know which one you need most right now) What sustainable creativity actually looks like when you stop forcing it How I'm dismantling lifelong patterns of hyper-responsibility and over-functioning Why feeling calm and steady in your body matters more than any strategy or system The difference between a business that runs your life and one that serves it If you're ready to create from overflow, lead with more presence, and build a business that feels like an extension of your spiritual practice, this episode offers a map toward a business that feels like home, not another obligation. After two years of publishing weekly content, I arrived in France this autumn and felt a deep truth drop in—what once felt aligned had turned into pressure. My body, my spirit, and my nervous system were asking me to slow down. This episode marks the beginning of 'The Season of Slow Business ,' a five-part series exploring what it means to lead, create, and grow from rhythm, rest, and feminine wisdom—instead of urgency and overfunctioning. In this opening episode, I share a story I’ve never told publicly—and how that experience is speaking to me again now, as I turn 48, navigate perimenopause, and begin a new chapter in France. Together, we’ll explore: What the Slow Business Movement really is (and what it’s not) How autumn invites us to release what's no longer sustainable in our businesses Why slowing down might be the most radical and strategic move you can make right now How to begin creating a business that honors your body, your nervous system, and your season of life If you’re moving through a transition, craving more space, or simply tired of pushing through, this episode will meet you where you are—and offer you a new path forward. Because your business doesn’t need more pressure. It needs more presence. And so do you. ⭐ And, as a special gift, I want to offer you free access to one of my most popular programs, “The IFS Kickstarter Kit.” This will teach you the foundational concepts of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model—a proven framework that has helped me and countless others navigate challenges, build inner clarity, and create thriving, soul-aligned businesses. What if the exhaustion you're feeling isn't just about being busy—it's about where your attention is actually going? In this episode, I sit down with Amelia Hruby, author of Your Attention is Sacred , to explore what happens when we reclaim our attention from the platforms designed to fragment it. Amelia left social media over four years ago, and her journey from creator to someone who gardens their attention with intention offers both wisdom and hope for anyone feeling trapped in the endless scroll. We talk about: The difference between paying attention and giving attention—and why this shift matters How social media creates "loops of similarity" that trap us in algorithmic bubbles The grief of leaving social media and the unexpected loneliness that follows Simple noticing practices to understand what needs social media is meeting in your life Why breaking free from convenience reveals what we're actually avoiding How attention becomes more textured and alive when we unplug The connection between our household relationship with money and scarcity economics Simple exercises to help you get out of your algorithm Amelia gets beautifully honest about the full arc of leaving—the creative surge, the return to human pace, the work of rebuilding genuine connection, and ultimately, the gift of presence that comes from no longer performing your life online. Whether you're considering leaving social media or simply want to cultivate a more conscious relationship with your attention, this conversation offers a roadmap back to yourself. When mastery meets messiness behind the scenes Several years ago, I lost an entire retreat curriculum—hours of teaching notes, insights, and debrief reflections—because I couldn’t remember where I’d saved the file. That moment sparked a total reorganization of how I run my business. But what I’ve realized since then is this: I wasn’t alone. So many brilliant, intuitive women—coaches, healers, service providers—are masterful at what they do, yet feel scattered, behind, or even ashamed of the backend of their business. And the truth is, the shame isn’t helpful—but it is telling. This episode is about what happens when your craft grows faster than your systems, and how to create a business structure that actually supports your energy, your gifts, and the season of life you're in. HERE ARE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ You’re not failing at business—you’ve just outgrown your systems We’ll explore why chaos often signals growth, and why structure that honors your feminine rhythms and values is the missing piece. 2️⃣ Your systems should serve your soul—not suppress it Discover what “feminine structure” really means, and how to build a business that’s sustainable, spacious, and true to how you work best. 3️⃣ The root of disorganization often lives deeper than your to-do list We’ll connect the dots between inner fragmentation and outer overwhelm—and how integration, not perfection, is the real game-changer. ✨ Ready to bring more ease, alignment, and clarity to your business? What if the very qualities that make you so capable… are also what keep you stuck in overdrive? In today’s episode, I’m unpacking one of the most deeply ingrained patterns I see in women leaders, helpers, and healers: over-responsibility. From skipping vacations to working through weekends and pushing self-care to “someday,” it’s easy to fall into the trap of constantly holding space for everyone but yourself. Together, we’ll explore where this pattern really comes from—ancestral conditioning, “good girl” programming, spiritual bypassing, and the entrepreneurial systems that reward over-functioning—and what it’s actually costing your energy, visibility, income, relationships, and health. More importantly, I’ll walk you through how to shift from martyrdom to sovereignty, so you can lead, create, and live from a place of fullness. HERE ARE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ Over-responsibility is a survival strategy, not a character flaw Learn the three root sources of this pattern and how they’ve shaped the way women show up in business, relationships, and leadership. 2️⃣ Boundaries, systems, and rest aren’t indulgences—they’re essential infrastructure Discover the four sovereign shifts that support you in leading from your center instead of your exhaustion. 3️⃣ Your business can become a source of energy—not a drain on it Explore what becomes possible when your inner and outer structures align with your values, energy, and season of life. ✨ If this episode resonated, I invite you to join me in The Sovereign Shift , my free workshop where we’ll go deeper into how to stop overgiving, start leading, and build a business that truly serves. What if some of the energy you’re carrying… isn’t actually yours? As part of our special summer sabbatical series, I’m sharing conversations that have expanded my understanding of healing in profound ways—and today’s episode with Robert Falconer is one of the most paradigm-shifting. A longtime IFS practitioner, teacher, and co-author of Many Minds, One Self , Robert brings a grounded and deeply compassionate approach to one of the more mysterious elements of internal work: working with foreign energies. This isn’t about labeling parts as bad or broken. It’s about exploring the possibility that some burdens may have been taken on from outside your system—and learning how to release them with care, consent, and clarity. Whether you’ve ever felt stuck in patterns that don’t feel like yours, sensed something “off” inside, or simply want to expand your perspective on what healing can look like, this episode is an open-hearted invitation to explore what’s possible. HERE ARE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ Some Energies Aren’t Yours to Carry Robert explains the concept of unattached burdens and non-native parts in IFS—and how recognizing them can open up new levels of healing and freedom. 2️⃣ Your System Knows How to Discern We explore how the Self can recognize, relate to, and release foreign energies—not through fear, but through clarity, compassion, and inner leadership. 3️⃣ You’re Not Broken—You’re Just Holding Too Much This conversation offers a powerful reminder that much of what we struggle with isn’t a personal failing—it’s often a sign of what we’ve absorbed, inherited, or tried to carry for others.
