This reads more like a security operation aimed at one specific lever. Keep the Strait open, keep pressure on Tehran to back off controlling it.

Mayathe thing. Most of the Gulf's drinking water comes from desalination. There is basically no backup river system out there.

DavidFollow the money, follow the pipes. You hit one plant, you're not just making a political point. You're threatening how millions of people drink water tomorrow.

DavidThat's the exposure! Kuwait's authorities activated emergency plans, according to Hammerschlag's reporting. It didn't spiral this time, but it shows you how fragile that infrastructure actually is.

MayaOkay, so pivoting slightly, there's also the funeral strike in Gaza that people are talking about.

DavidRight. Daniel Khalili-Tari reported for Al Jazeera that a strike hit a funeral procession killing at least eight. The Guardians' count from a hospital source puts it at seven.
