MayaLet's start with what's actually affecting people's lives this morning. So it's day two of the pause between the U.S. and Iran, and honestly, nobody's ready to call this a win yet.

DavidYeah, AP's Mark Carlson, Emma Da Silva, and John Leicester reported the fires have pushed 250,000 people from their homes in the Southwest.

MayaAnd it's crawling toward Bordeaux now?

DavidOil dropped, stock futures jumped, one headline, two markets reacting instantly.

MayaSo which is it? Is this actual relief or is Wall Street just betting the ceasefire holds long enough to cash in? That pause already moved money overnight, oil and futures jumped, but the number that's got me sitting up is Bloomberg says this week's Fed meeting is a real toss-up between hold and hike.

DavidHike? What? I thought we were past that conversation. So did everybody else. Bloomberg's reporting price pressures are rebounding and bond traders are on edge because a hike's actually back on the table instead of the cut people expected.

MayaOkay, what does a hike do to like my actual credit card bill?

DavidSimple. It's a tax on borrowing. Rates go up, your mortgage rate ticks up, your card's APR ticks up, your car payment ticks up. Every dollar of debt gets pricier to carry.

MayaGreat. Love that for us.

DavidRight. And the reason traders are jumpy isn't just the number. It's the Fed possibly admitting they weren't actually done after years of insisting inflation was handled.

MayaSo it's not really about the rate. It's about whether we believe them.

DavidOh, and speaking that money moving strange places, Nvidia, Bloomberg's reporting they're lining up close to $750 billion in fresh AI deals.
