Reiki Radio Podcast

What happens when we stop worrying about whether we're practicing Reiki correctly and begin trusting what we're actually experiencing? In this episode of Reiki Radio, I'm joined by my dear friend and fellow Reiki teacher, Gwen of My Spiritual Butterfly, for an open, honest conversation about our evolving relationships with Reiki, energy, intuition, and ourselves. We reflect on our early experiences as practitioners, including the pressure to follow every instruction perfectly, the uncertainty that can arise when our experiences differ from what we've been taught, and how years of continued practice have transformed our understanding of Reiki. One of the things I appreciate most about conversations like this is the opportunity to recognize that learning Reiki is only the beginning. Our understanding continues to develop as we practice, question, explore, and become more familiar with how we’re in relationship with ourselves and our lives. We Explore: Moving beyond rigid rules while honoring the foundations of traditional Reiki Why Reiki is a lifelong practice, and why teachers are students, too The importance of daily self-practice in developing energetic awareness, compassion, and intuitive confidence How Reiki can support our relationship with anxiety, fear, emotions, and everyday challenges Understanding attunements beyond the initial Reiki training experience Why ongoing education, community, and mentorship are valuable for practitioners at every level New perspectives on Reiki history, Mikao Usui, and the evolving research surrounding the system Our experiences participating in the 11th Reiki Rays Global Healing Summit, and the value of learning from different teachers and perspectives Throughout our conversation, we return to something I believe is foundational; the relationship you develop with yourself through practice influences how you experience and participate in your life. Reiki offers us opportunities to recognize our patterns, cultivate greater awareness, and meet ourselves and our experiences differently. Whether you're new to Reiki, have been practicing for years, or are teaching others, I hope this conversation encourages you to remain curious, continue learning, and trust the wisdom that develops through your own experience. What if you approached your everyday life with the same curiosity, openness, and intention that you bring to traveling somewhere new? This week, we're exploring something that can make a meaningful difference in how we experience life, recognizing that we're actively participating in it, every single day. Think about how you prepare for a vacation. You may already be imagining what you'll explore, how you want to feel, and the experiences you're looking forward to having. You're setting a tone before you even arrive. Now imagine approaching your daily life with that same awareness. How are you directing your mind? What frequency are you beginning your day in? What stories are influencing your expectations? How can your experiences change when you become more conscious of how you're choosing to participate? We'll also explore why your daily energetic practice matters, even when you only have a few minutes. Your baseline influences how you meet people, situations, and opportunities that unfold throughout your day. Then we'll move into our collective oracle reading, featuring four cards from The Energetic Alchemist Oracle: Challenge, Commitment, Nostalgia, and Liberator. Together, these cards bring our attention to relationships, agreements, familiar patterns, and the possibility of recognizing something that helps us move beyond old ways of responding. There may also be opportunities this week to revisit something from the past, gain clarity around a relationship or commitment, or recognize where an old story has been influencing your present experience. And when something becomes clear, what will you choose to do with that recognition? As always, take what resonates, remain curious, and remember that your energy, consciousness, and choices are part of how you experience this journey. Join Me for Upcoming Classes! Happy October, beautiful alchemist! This month, we’re exploring the rhythm of relationship…and no, I’m not only talking about romantic relationships. We’re in relationship with everything! This includes our thoughts, emotions, bodies, environments, other people, past experiences, desires…and, of course, ourselves. One of the most interesting aspects of this is recognizing how we are in relationship to all of it. In this month’s Energy of the Month, we explore the movement from Libra into Scorpio and what these energies can help us recognize about balance, harmony, transformation and the parts of ourselves we’re ready to understand differently. I’m also sharing insights from the Threshold, Sun and Lemniscate cards, which are part of The Energetic Alchemist Oracle. While the cards help expand clarity around navigation, we’ll also consider the lemniscate as a higher expression of the scales. So, instead of trying to perfectly “balance” opposing sides, what happens when we learn to create coherence and movement between them? This is all a part of life expressed in motion, and October gives us plenty to work with! We’ll look at the month’s astrology, relationships, emotional patterns, shadow, intuition, transformation and the opportunities we have to reclaim wisdom from what we’ve already experienced. If you’ve been noticing changes in yourself, relationships, or the way you’re responding to life lately, there may be more happening beneath the surface than you realize. And if these are the kinds of conversations that make you want to grab your notebook and go even deeper, this is exactly the territory we explore in The Alchemy Circle: https://yewchi.teachable.com/p/the-alchemy-circle-2027-energetic-alchemy111 DOWNLOAD THE APP to join the Activation Circles: https://www.theenergeticalchemist.com/the-energetic-alchemist-app For those of you feeling pulled toward the Oracle, symbolism and developing greater trust in how you intuitively recognize energy, Alchemy of the Seeker and Alchemy of the Oracle begin soon, too: https://yewchi.teachable.com/p/alchemy-of-the-oracle For now, grab your journal, settle in, and consider: What is your current rhythm of relationship teaching you about yourself?

Happy 13th Birthday, Reiki Radio! You can come celebrate with me online for this month's Activation Circle (download the app), or at the 2nd Annual Awakening Conference! But for now, let's explore your practice, your path...and the energy of September. Before we get into the energy of this month, I'm also sharing my thoughts on how spiritual and energy-work teachings vary through perspective and how direct practice and personal experience are more important than debating who is right or wrong. Then we'll cover September’s essence of refinement through Virgo season, the teachings of the Mystic oracle card, and key astrology dates including the new moon in Virgo, the autumn equinox, and the full moon in Aries. Kelly Kolodney is a spiritual teacher and intuitive guide who has spent nearly four decades helping people better understand themselves, manage emotional overwhelm, and reconnect with clarity and purpose. Her work began in 1989 after a deeply personal spiritual experience on Thanksgiving that she describes as opening an ongoing connection with Archangel Raphael, known in spiritual traditions as the angel of healing. Her approach centers on helping people slow down mentally, release emotional stress, and shift limiting thought patterns through guided meditations and what she calls “light code” transmissions. Her work emphasizes self-love, energy healing, and ascension, guiding individuals toward unity consciousness rather than separation, division, or polarity. The intention is to support people in feeling more grounded, clear, and connected to themselves in a practical, lived way. With more than 111,000 followers across social platforms, Kelly offers private readings that support personal transformation, emotional healing, and spiritual growth. Her work feels especially relevant right now as many people navigate uncertainty, burnout, and a search for meaning, and look for tools that support emotional resilience and inner stability. Through live online sessions, courses, group experiences, and private guidance, she offers a blend of meditation, reflection, and intuitive development designed to be accessible even for those new to spiritual concepts. Kelly has shared her work on platforms including Next Level Soul, Just Tap In, Inspired Evolution as well as the TV platform Gaia, where she speaks about emotional healing, intuition, and navigating change. Welcome back to the origins of Reiki Radio’s original focus, applying Reiki and related practices to real life. Interviews will continue only as live “Happy Hour” episodes on Fridays at 4:00 PM Pacific on Reiki Radio’s YouTube channel. I'm sharing why I stayed with this work for over 15 years, how Reiki deepened my self-knowledge, expanded my studies (intuition, psychic development, Hermeticism, Akashic records, astrology, etc), and inspired me to help others prioritize their own healing and purpose. I'm also reflecting on how we're living in a time of influence, highlighting the traditional term, Reiki Shihan (good example), and a call to live the principles through everyday actions. A year ago, Awakening Airwaves began as an idea rooted in connection, curiosity, consciousness, and the desire to create meaningful conversations around spiritual practices. What none of us could have fully anticipated was the incredible community that would grow around it, and TODAY we celebrate our 100th episode together. Over the last year, Awakening Airwaves has become home to conversations exploring Astrology, Reiki, Tarot and Oracle work, Akashic Records, goddess wisdom, crystals, energetic healing, expanding consciousness, intuitive development, spiritual awakening, and the many ways people are learning to reconnect with themselves more deeply. More than anything, this platform has become a reminder that awakening does not happen alone. It happens through shared experiences, conversations, and all that inspires self-recognition. We are deeply grateful to every single person who has listened, commented, shared episodes, joined live conversations, and supported these incredible women and their work over the last year. Your presence, curiosity, and participation matters to us more than you can imagine. Susan Stone is an Artist, Author, Reiki Master, Intuitive Healer/Counselor, Ordained Minister, and Initiated Shamanic Practitioner After a massive heat stroke in 2013, Susan had to give up her career as a professional gardener and reinvented herself as an entrepreneur. Starting her first brick and mortar business in 2017 when she opened ZenDen…a metaphysical, crystal, sage, and gift store. After selling ZenDen at the end of 2022, Susan needed a quiet place to paint and to finish her next book. And true to her nature…within six months, The Arts was born! It celebrates all the arts - the creative, the music, the healing and the mystic arts. Today I interview Susan Stone, a contributor to the book “Reiki Heart and Soul: Many Stories, One Bright Light,” about her path from decades of addiction and trauma to sobriety and healing through Reiki. Susan recounts a 1988 car accident that left her with compound-fractured ribs and years of untreated injury, leading to nine years on narcotics and worsening health, and describes how entering AA in 1997 and meeting her sponsor Holly led her to Reiki. After sessions with Reiki practitioner, Elaine Roy, Susan took a deep breath for the first time in nine years and found her ribs visibly back in place. She discusses later experiences including being struck by lightning in 2010, a quantum healing session that restored her vision, her work with “heavenly helpers” during sessions, and her community offerings through The Arts Port Royal, free Reiki clinics, animal Reiki, and Reiki training for children, along with her books “We Heard You” and “The Magical Nature of Humans.” FOLLOW OUR SUSAN: http://theartsportroyal.com http://instagram.com/theartsportroyal BOOKS: We Heard You https://a.co/d/0dLHHkko The Magical Nature of Humans https://a.co/d/041UOPbN Reiki Heart and Soul https://a.co/d/0aRtaEoU FOLLOW YOUR HOST, YOLANDA, The Energetic Alchemist, and Reiki Radio: Subscribe to YouTube channel http://youtube.com/ReikiRadio Learn more about The Energetic Alchemist, sessions and classes http://theenergeticalchemist.com Follow on IG http://instagram.com/reikiradio Download The Energetic Alchemist App for more content: Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/vn/app/the-energetic-alchemist/id6444335030 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pr7qxgkavurc.psu4m8l95app&hl=en_US&pli=1

On this episode, I speak with Jonathan Richardson, a contributor to Ifetayo White’s book, “Reiki Heart and Soul: Many Stories, One Bright Light,” whose chapter is titled “Footprints.” "Unhealed Healers Don't Heal Anything..." - Jonathan Richardson What happens when you want #Reiki to heal one thing, but what actually starts healing is YOU?! Jonathan shares how his upbringing and marriage led him down paths of religious and spiritual exploration. His story is incredibly interesting and gives a peek into one person’s journey of recognizing emotional challenges, seeking healing, and the process of awakening to self in stages. Jonathan begins by sharing a powerfully symbolic dream, weaving us through the journey of how different levels of Reiki training expressed through his life. There’s also insight around what being a Massage Therapist taught him about Reiki and energy. In the end, he leaves us with practical advice to support all practitioners on their paths forward. On this episode, I interview Christal McElveen of http://neptunesgate.com , a fellow contributor to the book, “Reiki Heart and Soul: Many Stories, One Bright Light,” about her lifelong sensitivity to energy, growing up in a religious environment, and learning to cope with intense empathy and visions. Christal shares how she eventually shut her gifts down, then was cracked open by her grandmother’s passing, leading to years of numbness, severe high blood pressure, and unprocessed grief. Her grandmother catalyzed her spiritual path, bringing Reiki into her life for deep, transformative healing. She also discusses Reiki levels, shadow work, grounding, intuition, and developing boundaries. I especially loved hearing about Christal’s “year of no” in 2023, redefining “selfish,” her path to reclaiming feminine softness, and how she now teaches Reiki and offers yearlong spiritual mentorship and other services. April 2026, Energy of the Month, is an initiation and rebirth! Let's explore our relationship to Aries season, the influence of Mars, and the Energetic Alchemist Oracle card - The Architect (counterpart to last month’s Breathing Goddess). We'll also touch on how Pisces season, the energies of dissolution and release, created space for our Aries embodiment, bold authenticity, and action, while emphasizing a collective attunement to higher frequency and ongoing systemic breakdowns. This month will support realization around what’s falling away, how to assert yourself without becoming too aggressive, and reshaping an anxious relationship with time. Astrological Highlights Include Full Moon in Libra on April 1st (self vs. relationship mirrors) Mars entering Aries April 9th (intensified drive for six weeks) Mercury entering Aries April 14th (mental breakthroughs) New Moon in Aries April 17th (ambition and self-investment) Sun entering Taurus April 19th (slowing down into values, method, comfort, and Venus themes) FOLLOW YOUR HOST, YOLANDA, The Energetic Alchemist, and Reiki Radio: On your favorite podcast platform Subscribe to YouTube channel http://youtube.com/ReikiRadio Learn more about The Energetic Alchemist, sessions and classes http://theenergeticalchemist.com Follow on IG @ http://instagram.com/reikiradio Download The Energetic Alchemist App for more content: Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/vn/app/the-energetic-alchemist/id6444335030 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pr7qxgkavurc.psu4m8l95app&hl=en_US&pli=1 Thank you for being a part of this community!

Yolanda and Melinda reunite to celebrate the equinox and discuss seasonal shifts, especially the Sun moving into Aries, and what it means for energy practitioners. They reflect on transitioning from Pisces themes of dissolution, forgiveness, purification, and compassion - moving into Aries, cardinal fire, action, audacity, and self-directed initiative, while noting the need to balance water and fire. They also mention other astrological aspects, including multiple placements that are currently in Aries (Sun, Moon, Venus, Neptune, Saturn and Chiron), linking this to re-identification, amplification of audacity, passion, taking up space, and personal agency. As practitioners of energetic arts, they go beyond the ideas of the equinox and discuss how Aries energy shows up in all of us and what we can learn through this season. In the end, they pull tarot and oracle cards for the season. In this episode I sit down with the hosts of Haute Hustle Morning Mystics, Jeneth and Lyanca. I met these incredible women when I was invited to be a guest on their show, and now they’re on the other side of the microphone, sharing about how they met, their career pivots, and the spiritual experiences that shaped their work. Jeneth shares how a life-changing surgery sparked mystical encounters, led to channeling, and inspired her book, “Seven Dragons: A Guide to A Limitless Mind,” which later evolved into dragon-based healing journeys and bodywork. Lyanca recounts leaving a successful advertising career after feeling depleted, pursuing life coach training, and experiencing a 2020 spiritual awakening that deepened her path, including QHHT sessions, channeling messages about collective intention and empowerment. Together they describe Haute Hustle’s mission as building a nonjudgmental community, exploring manifestation and frequency, and offering tools like hypnotherapy, a money-frequency quiz, and ongoing programs and events.
