This is the audio version of my written article on weaponised triangulation and what happens when you find yourself caught in these dynamics. Often, you just know something feels off. Someone else is being praised, included or treated with a warmth you do not receive, and instead of questioning the dynamic, you question yourself. I have experienced both sides of this with spiritual teachers. I have been pushed to the edges while somebody else received the attention and recognition withheld from me, but I have also been the person receiving it. Experiencing both taught me something important. When somebody makes you feel particularly seen, valued or chosen, their approval can become something you unconsciously depend upon. When it is withdrawn and given to somebody else, you can find yourself trying to win it back without ever consciously choosing to compete. The real question then becomes not, “Why are they choosing them instead of me?” but “Why has this person been given so much power over whether I feel valued?” In this audio version, I talk about: • How people can be quietly played off against each other • Why one person becomes the favourite while another becomes the problem • What it is like watching someone else receive a completely different version of the same person • Why the other person may genuinely have no idea what you are experiencing • How these dynamics can also play out between spiritual teachers and their students • Why scapegoats can end up trying even harder to earn the approval that keeps being withheld • Why you may start comparing yourself to someone you never wanted to compete with in the first place • How your eventual anger or withdrawal can then be used to say, “See, this is what they are like” • Why being repeatedly told you are imagining things can make it incredibly difficult to trust what you see • The difference between trusting your instincts and assuming you always know exactly what is going on • How we begin to step out of these triangles altogether Because one of the most painful parts of being the scapegoat is not simply being treated differently. In this instalment, I speak about what it was like when my perception would not switch off. I began sensing and seeing beyond the physical world in everyday life. It was overwhelming. Reality no longer felt solid or contained. I also became aware of a living field around everything. Something moving, present, and intelligent beneath what we are taught is real. This is an episode about awakening without preparation. About fear. About trying to carry on as normal while something deeper is opening inside you. I speak about the return of the feminine. Not as something imagined, but as the wild soul within me coming back online. The instinctive, untamed part that feels, senses, and knows without needing permission, that I had buried in order to fit into society. When it rises, it changes everything. This is also where my search for answers began. Trying to understand what I was seeing. Trying to make sense of a world that no longer fit the old rules. This is where the seer begins. About encountering realms that do not fit a love-and-light narrative. About the moment I handed my authority to someone else and doubted my own perception. This is an episode about the cost of having your reality dismissed. About gaslighting yourself into safety. About the thin line between mysticism and madness when truth is not named. I also address a common confusion in spirituality. Awakening is not about getting rid of the ego. The ego helps us function as human beings. It gives us boundaries, will, and a way to live in the physical world. The work is integration. Higher awareness must descend into the body and learn to live alongside the ego, not bypass it. And as that process began for me, the buried feminine rose. The part I had silenced in order to survive. The intuitive, feeling, wild current within the psyche that refuses containment. When the wild woman returns, she does not ask permission. Part Five is the aftermath. The breaking point. The beginning of integration. Awakening stops being mystical here and starts being embodied. In this heartwarming second part of our powerful conversation, Marina deepens into the truth of her journey. If the collapse began with loss, the healing began with courage, the courage to turn inward. In this first of a powerful two part conversation, Marina shares the moment everything changed. Once seen as the black sheep, she had gone on to build what many would call a highly successful life, rooted in years of hard work, service, and dedication through her dentistry practice. But one accident sent it all into collapse. Her career, her marriage, her sense of identity, everything she thought made her who she was, suddenly began to unravel. Welcome to Episode 2 of the Awakened Scapegoat Podcast . This is where my story begins, at home, in a place that was supposed to feel safe but didn’t. I grew up in poverty, inside a dysfunctional household where survival came before stability. When I stepped into school and church, I hoped for something different. But instead, I found more of the same. The adults in those spaces, teachers, authority figures, even the church didn’t see me . They saw a version of me shaped by their own projections. I was labeled, scapegoated, and shoved into an identity that never belonged to me. I wasn’t the “good student.” I wasn’t obedient. I didn’t perform the way they wanted. So I became the outsider, the problem. So I turned inward. Books became my refuge. My imagination, my escape. That inner world was where I could still hear my truth, even when no one else cared to listen. Looking back, that was the beginning. The start of the path that would one day lead me here, to helping other scapegoats, truth tellers, intuitives and outsiders remember who they really are and reclaim the divinity that’s always lived inside them.
