Please enjoy our first guest episode with the one and only Jamie Collins, makeup artist extraordinaire and owner of Bleum in the heart of Darwin. Jamie answers all your burning wet season makeup questions including why you really don't need to go anywhere but Chemist Warehouse. We also talk about building businesses, some funny stories from days gone by and why women need to support other women. Somewhere we also fit in a shot of Laksa Vodka. We also send a huge sorry to you all AGAIN - this week we recorded OOO and accidentally recorded through the laptop rather than the mics. Huge thanks to the team at HOT100 and Mix FM who helped us fix the audio and bought it back to life!!
Molly spent last week selling the Top End to travel agents from around the world while Sarah battles a 2.5 year old on the cusp of dropping his nap. Talk about worlds apart. She's also visiting the naturopath and Molly has thoughts. Hot and humid this week was varied and lovely. Molly's hot was the 1000 Hour Eyebrow Dye Kit and her humid as endless dramas with her pool at the only time you really want to be in the pool. Sarah gave the one and only Susan Alderman of Lazy Susan a giant shout out and her humid of course a parent's worst nightmare is anything that opens for kids after 10am. Then we head straight into the dos and don'ts of hair during the buildup, and we go through some of the recommendations from our own listeners around how the hell we deal with our hair in October. Enoy!
Well Sarah's been busy chasing kids and cleaning up after a skink who abandoned its tail in her lounge room while she was sitting on the loo and Molly's been busy burying herself in smutty books and dealing with a chronic tropical ear infection, dermatitis from her wedding ring and can't wear earrings because she's allergic to them too. Hot and humid this week will leave everyone a bit hot under the collar while also spruiking about a new found love of pilates. We then talk upcoming trends in the fashion world and how our interpretation of wearing a scarf top is actually just a sarong fashioned into a dress and we FINALLY got to see how the world's fashion high and mighty dress for a tropical climate when Kim K among others desended on Singapore when it was 32 degrees and 73 per cent humidity. The two stories written in by listeners deserve a gold medal and we have a solid reminder that not all frogs turn into a prince.
Hooray! Our second episode is now LIVE. We start with a huge THANK YOU to the overwhelming amount of messages we received after episode 1 which gave us the confidence to get right into episode 2 and huzzah here we are! Hot and humid this week is a totally relatable tropical sweaty bathroom scenario, Molly raves (again, sorry not sorry) about her colour analysis with Colour Lab Stylist and drags Mecca for a product that doesn't quite cut it. We then rip right into the survey results of our very informal Instagram story survey (not very Census of us) and discuss why the hell we get winter stuff in our shops, like, at all.
