During her eight years in Parliament, she played a pivotal role in reforms including voluntary assisted dying, safe access zones around abortion clinics, the decriminalisation of sex work, the establishment of Victoria's first medically supervised injecting centre, legalisation of ridesharing, and the introduction of a spent convictions scheme. She also championed drug law reform, establishing Australia's first parliamentary inquiry into cannabis use and a taskforce examining medicinal cannabis driving laws. This week Rachel chats to Niamh. Niamh is a 30-year-old woman who has used cannabis since her early 20s. As a younger person she enjoyed consuming cannabis because it helped her switch off from some difficult things, but as an adult she finds it helps her focus.
