The Treasury Department has handed the account of every newborn in America to Robinhood, a stock-trading app carrying the largest fine in the history of its own regulator. But hey, it's free to use! The account opens the day your child is born, seeded with a thousand dollars of federal money, and to open it a parent hands over a biometric faceprint that Robinhood keeps forever, processed by an outside vendor named Persona whose entire government dashboard was found sitting on a public server this February, running 269 checks and filing secret reports to the Treasury's financial-crimes unit. The savings account seems to be the wrapper for a permanent data file on your child. Elon Musk's Secret Surgery Center
Only four states in the entire country have a law that even mentions neural data. There is no federal protection. Your thoughts have fewer legal protections than your thumbprint. Elon Musk knows that. And he is moving fast. I found a facility that Travis County thinks is a ranch. The EPA has never visited it, not once in five years, even though it sits on the Colorado River in a watershed that feeds Austin's drinking water. The animals being used there are registered to a UPS Store mailbox in Fremont, California. And yet the state environmental agency doesn't call it a ranch. It calls it a Commercial Research Facility. One where over 600 animals have undergone brain surgery. And then on March 31, 2026, Neuralink's General Counsel signed a new LLC into existence at that address. I found a new passports.gov, and it doesn't belong to the State Department. When I called them to ask about it, you'd be surprised what they said. After last week's dig into vote.gov and the National Design Studio, it felt like the right time to talk about passports, what's being built, and how fast it's all moving to be ready before July 4th. I found a second vote.gov — and it's registered to the White House
A White House office with no Senate confirmation, no financial disclosures, and no entry in any federal procurement database has built a secret copy of vote.gov, the country's voter registration website. It is run by the same people who were sued for accessing federal databases without clearance at DOGE. And it is collecting data on Americans right now, on a federal drug pricing website, with no privacy notices filed and no oversight body with jurisdiction to stop it. I found it by accident. I was on TrumpRx.gov. The horror community found it on TikTok, and it steadily gathered momentum in the way that grassroots literary success still occasionally happens. Almost five thousand readers rated it on Goodreads. Reviewers called it corrosive but addictive, dark and visceral. For a self-published debut, it was doing something rare. It was finding its people.Hachette, one of the five largest publishers in the world, acquired it.
