Fishing has come a long way — from reading the water and trusting your gut, to live sonar, high-resolution sounders, electric reels, advanced mapping and technology that can practically tell you where the fish are. But have we reached a point where there’s simply too much technology in fishing? In this episode, we dive into how technology has changed the way we fish, whether it’s making us better anglers or taking some of the skill and mystery out of the game, and where we think fishing technology is heading next. Has technology levelled the playing field, or are we reaching a critical mass where the gear is starting to do too much of the work? Another big conversation from the Less Ordinary crew — plenty of opinions, plenty of fishing talk, and probably a few arguments along the way. Less Ordinary — fishing, mates, stories and everything in between.
This week on Less Ordinary, we’re talking all things jet ski fishing and the Sea-Doo Fish Pro as part of the Follow the Fish Pro Sea-Doo campaign. Sea-Doo have given us a Fish Pro to put through its paces, get out there, chase some serious fish and create some epic content — with $10,000 up for grabs for the campaign. We dive into everything we’ve done on the Fish Pro so far, from snapper fishing and tuna fishing to getting offshore and chasing marlin, and share what we’ve learnt along the way. We talk about what makes fishing from a jet ski so unique, the places it allows you to access, the ability to move with the fish and some of the unreal missions we’ve been able to get stuck into with it. From inshore sessions to offshore adventures, we’re breaking down the Fish Pro, the fishing, the experiences and some of the best moments we’ve had on it so far. Plenty of fishing stories, big fish, good times and, as always, plenty of carry on. Less Ordinary x Sea-Doo — Follow the Fish Pro.
Bodhi Mani lives one of the most unique lives we’ve come across, and in this episode we get a proper look behind the scenes. From life on the farm and the Barra Farm, to having thousands of barramundi on his doorstep, there’s plenty to unpack. We talk PNG dogtooth tuna, surfing, 4x4s, custom car builds and boat builds, as well as some of the more unexpected things growing around the property… 🌱 It’s a conversation about building a life around the things you love, chasing fish in some incredible places, creating your own adventures and making the most of where you live. Farm life, barra, PNG dogtooth, surfing, cars, boats, and a few interesting plants along the way. Another one that’s definitely Less Ordinary.
In this episode, we sit down with Finesse Angler to dive into everything that makes light tackle fishing so addictive. We chat about the gear, techniques and mindset behind consistently catching quality fish, before hearing the story of how his fishing journey and content creation have evolved over the years. We also get stuck into bream and mulloway tactics, the lessons learned on the water, building an audience in the fishing space, and plenty of stories along the way. Whether you’re chasing trophy bream, hunting mulloway or just love talking fishing, there’s plenty to take away from this one.
The 2026 Trophy Hunter Snapper Bash is done and dusted… and we’re unpacking everything. From the planning to the end result. This is the full story of our comp. We break down the decisions that mattered, the techniques that consistently put quality fish in the boat, the mistakes we made, and the moments that completely changed the outcome of our weekend. We cover the general run through of the epic week that we had, how we approached the competition from start to finish. The conditions and how they influenced every decision. The turning points that made or broke a session. The sounder, bait and drift strategies we relied on. Lure selection, plastics, jighead weights and retrieves that produced. What didn’t work (and why). The biggest lessons we’ll be taking into next year’s Bash. Competition tactics, mindset and more. Whether you fished the Snapper Bash, are planning on entering next year, or just want to become a better snapper angler, this episode is packed with practical takeaways you can apply on your next trip.
