EPISODE 26 — ALAN LEWIS RAW CONVERSATION NOW LIVE — SEPTEMBER 11“NEVER FORGET.” This is one of the most important and deeply personal conversations I have had on Alan Lewis RAW Conversation .In Episode 26, I am joined by Alexander Blackwell , the daughter of Chris Blackwell , the highly decorated FDNY firefighter who tragically lost his life on September 11, 2001.Chris was a 20-year veteran of the New York City Fire Department , spending his final 12 years with Rescue Company 3 in the Bronx . He was also a paramedic for 24 years, had received several FDNY medals for bravery and was involved in teaching technical rescue, including collapse and void-search techniques.Chris was a man who dedicated his life to helping others. On September 11, 2001, he and his fellow firefighters from Rescue 3 responded to the World Trade Center. Like so many first responders that day, Chris ran towards danger while others were desperately trying to escape it.Sadly, he never came home. A CONVERSATION THAT GOES DEEP This interview isn’t simply about September 11.It is about Chris the firefighter, Chris the paramedic, Chris the friend, Chris the father and Chris the person .During this conversation, we go back to when Bernie Meehan Jr. first met Chris , and Bernie shares his own memories and experiences of the man he knew.Bernie, a firefighter and paramedic whom I previously interviewed on Alan Lewis RAW Conversation , was a close friend of Chris and a family friend . Having someone who personally knew Chris adds another extraordinary and very human perspective to this conversation. We hear about Chris’s experience, his bravery, his dedication to rescue work and some of the incredible things he did throughout his career. But perhaps most importantly, we talk about what happened after the towers were struck — and what it meant for the families waiting for their loved ones to come home.We explore the reality that many families faced that day: the uncertainty, the waiting, the desperate hope, the fear of not knowing what had happened to someone they loved, and eventually the devastating realisation that their loved one would not be coming home. This is a conversation about first responders and the families behind them .Because when a firefighter, police officer, paramedic or other first responder goes to work, they don’t go alone.Their family carries the worry, the pride, the sacrifice and, sometimes, the unimaginable loss. RAW. HONEST. PERSONAL. As always on Alan Lewis RAW Conversation , this interview is raw, truthful and real .There are no scripted answers. There are difficult moments. There are memories. There are stories. And there are lessons about courage, family, friendship and sacrifice that I believe everyone should hear.Twenty-five years later, we must continue to tell these stories — not only so that we remember what happened, but so that future generations understand the people behind the names. Chris Blackwell is one of those names. And today, through the memories of his daughter Alexander and his close friend Bernie Meehan Jr., we remember the man behind the uniform. We remember his courage. We remember his sacrifice. We remember his family. And we remember Chris.

In this episode I sit down with renowned neurosurgeon Charlie Teo for a fascinating and very honest conversation about his life, his career, and the work he has dedicated decades to. He has spent more than 35 years operating, teaching and mentoring surgeons around the world, always pushing the boundaries of what is possible in brain surgery. In our conversation we talk about the future of neurology and neurosurgery, the incredible technology that is starting to change medicine, and how new tools and research may shape the way brain conditions are treated in the years ahead. Alan Lewis Raw Conversation – Episode 14 Dropping today! I’m genuinely excited about this one. My next guest is Duncan Armstrong — an Olympic gold medallist, Commonwealth Games champion, and one of Australia’s most memorable sporting figures. He famously claimed gold in the 200m freestyle at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in what remains one of the great upsets in Australian sporting history. He has also represented Australia at the highest level across World Championships and Commonwealth Games competition, earning respect not just for his achievements, but for his determination and grit. Since retiring from elite competition, Duncan has remained a respected voice in Australian swimming and media. He has worked as a commentator, mentor, and advocate for the sport, continuing to inspire the next generation with his experience, discipline, and honesty about what it truly takes to succeed — both in and out of the pool. In this episode, we speak about the mindset required to perform under enormous pressure, the reality of life after elite sport, and the lessons that competition teaches you about resilience, setbacks, and backing yourself when it matters most. Duncan speaks openly about expectation, doubt, preparation, and what it feels like to deliver when the world is watching. It’s a raw, open, and insightful conversation that I believe many of you will genuinely appreciate. And of course, we’ll see how Duncan handles one of the most popular parts of the podcast — where he chooses which question he answers. That’s always a moment listeners look forward to.
Episode 13 of Alan Lewis Raw Conversation is one I’ve genuinely been looking forward to sharing, and this week I’m proud to finally reveal the guest. Joining me is Jamie Dunn. A true icon of Australian television and radio, and someone whose voice, humour and characters have been part of our lives for decades. Most Australians know Jamie as the creator and voice behind Agro, the unforgettable character who helped define kids’ television through Agro’s Cartoon Connection. For a whole generation, that show wasn’t just after-school viewing — it was a daily ritual. But Jamie’s story goes far beyond one character. He’s built a career spanning more than 40 years across radio, television, writing and live performance. From dominating breakfast radio to becoming a household name on national TV, he’s remained a constant presence in Australian entertainment and he’s still very much active today, still working, still creating and still connecting with audiences. What really stood out to me in this conversation isn’t just the success. It’s the person he is. The effort he’s always put into giving back. The charity work. The quiet support for others behind the scenes. And the honesty he brings to everything he does. He’s genuine, grounded and exactly the same off-air as he is on it. As always on Raw Conversation, we start with a simple choice. I ask Jamie to pick a question — top, middle or bottom — and whichever one he chooses opens the door to the rest of the chat. From there, nothing’s off limits. It’s funny, nostalgic, heartfelt and very real. The kind of conversation that feels less like an interview and more like sitting down with an old friend.
Episode 12 of The Alan Lewis Raw Conversation is now live. This episode features a deeply considered and in-depth conversation with our special guest, Dylan — one that genuinely made me stop and reflect on where we are heading as a generation. Right at the beginning of the episode, Dylan is asked to choose between Question 1, Question 2, or Question 3 . Without hesitation, he makes his selection — and what follows is an answer that immediately sets the tone for the entire conversation. His response is thoughtful, honest, and quietly confronting, touching on responsibility, awareness, and the realities facing our generation as we move forward. As the discussion unfolds, the conversation only deepens. We explore the pressures, expectations, and shifts occurring in society today — particularly around work, purpose, family, and the future we are collectively building. At moments, the insights are surprising; at others, they are sobering. There is a point where you can’t help but think: are we truly prepared for what is coming, and do we fully understand the world we are shaping? This was not a surface-level interview. It was reflective, at times challenging, and ultimately refreshing in its honesty. Dylan speaks with clarity and conviction, offering perspectives that feel both grounded and forward-thinking — especially powerful coming from someone of his generation. If you value conversations that go beyond headlines and soundbites, and instead invite you to think, question, and reflect, this episode is well worth your time . 🎙 The Alan Lewis Raw Conversation 📍 Episode 12 — now available

A quick walk back in to the year 2025 and a little sneak peak for what's upcoming this year.
We are proud to announce that Episode 11 of the Alan Lewis Raw Conversation Podcast has dropp Our special guest is revealed as Karen Lewis . Before titles and before labels, this episode recognises the reality of what it means to live a life of responsibility, service, and wisdom. Karen Lewis is a mother, a wife, a business owner, a manager, an accountant, a counsellor, and a carer — roles that do not exist separately, but all at once. She represents the unseen workload carried by parents every day: managing health, finances, emotions, schedules, relationships, households, and futures, often without pause and without praise. This is the work that requires constant decision-making, emotional intelligence, patience, foresight, resilience, and strength — the kind of wisdom that can only be built over time. Alongside this, Karen brings more than 40 years of experience as a hairdresser , a profession that is far more than a trade. It is a role built on trust, listening, care, and connection. For decades, she has worked with people from all walks of life, hearing their stories, supporting them through change, and understanding human nature at its most honest. That depth of experience creates insight — not just into business, but into people, wellbeing, confidence, and identity. This episode is a genuine conversation about what it means to juggle family, business, responsibility, and care, while still showing up every day with integrity, intelligence, and heart. It is about the knowledge gained through lived experience, the strength required to hold many roles at once, and the quiet leadership shown by those who keep everything moving behind the scenes. During the episode, Karen will be presented with three questions. She will choose Question One, Question Two, or Question Three — without knowing in advance which question she has selected . Her choice will shape the conversation in real time. Which one will it be? We are proud to be back with the Alan Lewis Raw Conversation Podcast for 2026, and we are looking forward to growing this podcast throughout the year — continuing to share real conversations, real experience, and real insight. Episode 11 is one not to miss.
Inside Raw Conversation As the year draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on where Alan Lewis Raw Conversation is heading and what’s coming up next. The podcast continues to grow, not just in listenership, but in the depth and quality of the conversations we’re having. Most recently, we sat down with Liam, a powerful and honest discussion that reinforced why this podcast exists — to create space for real stories, real people, and real conversations. Looking ahead, Alan Lewis Raw Conversation is going international once again. An upcoming episode takes us to Minnesota in the United States, where I’ll be speaking with Sheriff Mark Empting of Clay County. We’ll be talking about service, leadership, and community, as well as his journey from the fire service, including how he became a fire chief, and what led him into law enforcement. These are the kinds of conversations that matter, particularly in a world that is constantly evolving. As we move towards the end of the year, there is much more to come. More episodes, more guests, and more meaningful discussions with people who help others every day — often without recognition, but always with purpose. There is also growing interest in the podcast itself, including advertising and collaboration opportunities. Alan Lewis Raw Conversation is becoming a platform not just for conversation, but for connection — bringing together industries, communities, and individuals who genuinely want to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who has listened, shared, and supported the podcast so far. This journey is only just beginning. More conversations are coming.
