How do you get your kids to eat healthier, spend less time on screens, and build better habits without turning your home into a daily battle? In this episode of the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast, Daniel Wood sits down with author and mother Candice Imwalle for a practical conversation about parenting, food, health, screen time, communication, and the habits children carry with them into adulthood. Candice began writing children's books because she wanted her own kids to understand why healthy eating matters. That work later grew into a book for moms with practical health, anti-aging, and parenting ideas. Her central message is simple: Children are far more likely to change when they understand why something matters to them. Instead of relying only on “because I said so,” Candice encourages parents to connect healthier choices to goals children already care about — getting stronger, performing better in sports, having more energy, becoming more independent, and being ready for adult life. Daniel and Candice also talk honestly about how hard this can be when parents are tired, schedules are packed, practices start at 5:00, everyone is hungry, and the drive-through feels easier. The answer is not perfection. It is baby steps, preparation, communication, and consistency. In this episode, you'll discover: ✔ Why healthy habits often begin much earlier than parents realize ✔ Why Candice compares unhealthy habits to other risks parents actively protect children from ✔ How to get kids to eat healthier without creating constant arguments ✔ Why meal prep can make healthy food almost as convenient as fast food ✔ Simple ways to start when you're exhausted and short on time ✔ Why a three-minute workout can be better than waiting for the “perfect” workout ✔ How to explain the “why” behind healthy choices ✔ Why kids respond better when healthy habits connect to their own goals ✔ How to handle screen time and phones during family time ✔ What to do when you're changing habits with teenagers ✔ Why changing everything at once usually backfires ✔ How to involve children in meals without creating more work ✔ Why giving kids choices can increase buy-in ✔ How respect changes the way children respond to parents ✔ Why yelling occasionally is different from making yelling the culture of the home ✔ How parenting and leadership share many of the same principles This episode is for parents who want their kids to become healthier, stronger, more independent, and better prepared for life — without expecting themselves to become perfect parents overnight. 5 Lessons From This Episode 1. Healthy Habits Start Earlier Than We Think The habits children develop around food, movement, screens, and self-care can stay with them for years. Food is not simply about today's dinner. It helps shape their relationship with health, discipline, energy, and caring for themselves. 2. Parents Still Have to Lead When It Is Inconvenient Candice makes a strong comparison: If your child ran toward traffic, you would immediately stop them. Parents already accept responsibility for protecting children from dangers they are too young to understand fully. Candice argues that building healthy habits belongs in that same broader responsibility. 3. Start With Baby Steps You do not need to change your family's entire life tomorrow. Start with: One healthier dinner One planned shopping trip One short workout One phone-free meal One better conversation Small improvements become routines. 4. Give Your Children the Why “Because I said so” may create short-term compliance. It does not always create long-term habits. Ask what your children care about. Do they want to: Get better at football? Run faster? Feel stronger? Make a team? Have more energy? Be prepared for college? Then connect healthier choices to their goals, not simply yours. 5. Make Them Part of the Process Let your children choose between healthy options. Ask what protein they want. Ask how they want something seasoned. Let them choose a recipe. Take them shopping when possible. People tend to care more about things they helped create — and children are no different. Practical Family Action Plan Step 1: Get the Adults Aligned If there are two parents or caregivers involved, agree on the direction first. Mixed standards create confusion. Step 2: Ask Your Kids About Their Goals Do not begin with food. Begin with them. Ask: “What do you want to get better at?” Then connect healthy habits to that goal. Step 3: Change One Thing Do not announce a total family revolution. Choose one improvement. For example: “This week, we're going to cook dinner at home instead of getting fast food.” Step 4: Give Them Choices Instead of: “You're eating chicken.” Try: “Do you want chicken, salmon, or burgers tonight?” You still control the available options, but they gain some ownership. Step 5: Create Phone-Free Moments Meals are an obvious place to begin. Put phones away and make the people sitting in front of you the focus. Step 6: Prepare for Busy Days Cook larger portions. Keep two or three meal options available. Use simple recipes. Make the healthy option the convenient option. 🎁 Free Gift From Candice Candice offers quick-start resources through her website with practical ideas for helping children begin healthier habits. What happens when you stop using your voice? For Tania de Jong, our voice is far more than a way to communicate. It is connected to courage, creativity, self-expression, connection, and what makes us human. In this episode of the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast, Daniel Wood sits down with Tania de Jong — singer, speaker, social entrepreneur, and founder of multiple organizations and charities — for a powerful conversation about finding your voice and having the courage to use it. Tania shares why so many people learn to silence themselves, how childhood comments can stay with us for decades, and why singing, humming, breathing, dancing, storytelling, curiosity, silence, and community can help us reconnect with parts of ourselves we've pushed aside. She also challenges a growing problem in an increasingly AI-driven world: Are we outsourcing so much of ourselves to screens, algorithms, and machines that we're losing some of the qualities that make us human? You'll hear practical ways to begin using your voice again, even if you've spent years believing you can't sing or you're afraid to speak in front of other people. Daniel and Tania also discuss asking for help, building stronger communities, music education, creativity, service, generosity, and Tania's work with Mind Medicine Australia and psychedelic-assisted therapies in regulated clinical settings. In this episode, you'll learn: • Why your voice is connected to courage and self-expression • How to practice speaking up little by little • Why breathing, humming, singing, and vocal exercises can help you become more comfortable using your voice • Why so many adults believe they cannot sing • How childhood comments can become limiting beliefs • Why asking for help can make individuals and teams stronger • The meaning behind WAIT: “Why Am I Talking?” • Why curiosity matters more than pretending to know everything • What singing, dancing, stories, silence, and community can give us • How inclusive community choirs help people begin singing without previous training • Why Tania believes technology can distance us from parts of our humanity • How The Song Room brought music and arts education to Australian children • How Creativity Australia and With One Voice use community singing to connect people • Tania's work with Mind Medicine Australia • The role of regulated psychedelic-assisted therapies discussed in the episode • Why wealth means far more than money • How service, generosity, creativity, health, meaning, and connection contribute to a rich life Five Takeaways From the Conversation 1. Your voice is part of who you are. Your voice isn't simply a tool for speaking. Tania sees it as an expression of your presence, courage, creativity, and humanity. When you constantly silence yourself, you may be holding back something you could contribute. 2. Speaking up requires practice and courage. There is a practical side: breathing, humming, singing, vocalizing, and becoming comfortable making sound. Then there is the emotional side: deciding that you have something worth contributing and giving yourself permission to say it. 3. Ask for help faster. People can waste enormous amounts of time trying to prove they can solve everything alone. Asking someone who has already faced the same problem can save time, create stronger teams, and deepen relationships. 4. Reclaim the human practices that bring us together. Sing. Dance. Tell stories. Spend time in silence. Gather with other people. Human beings have used these practices for generations to create connection and community. As more of life moves onto screens, intentionally making room for real human interaction matters. 5. Wealth is bigger than money. Money matters, but it is one part of a much larger picture. Connection. Contribution. Generosity. Creativity. Health. Meaning. Service. Tania's definition of impact centers on being of service to others and using what you have to help another person. A Simple Challenge Think about one place in your life where you've been holding back. Maybe you have something to say in a meeting. Maybe you need to ask someone for help. Maybe you've always wanted to sing, dance, speak, create, or join a community but convinced yourself that you're “not that kind of person.” Take one small action this week. Speak. Ask. Sing. Create. Let a little more of yourself be heard. 🎁 ACTION TAKER BONUS — FINANCIAL FREEDOM SUMMIT As a thank-you for listening, you're invited to claim a free ticket to an upcoming Financial Freedom Summit. What if the reason you feel stuck isn't that you need another goal—but that you're putting your attention on things that don't truly matter to you? In this episode of the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast , Daniel Wood sits down with Janet Attwood , co-creator of The Passion Test , for something different: Janet takes Daniel through The Passion Test live. Rather than simply talking about finding your passion, you'll hear the process in action as Daniel identifies ten things he wants from life, compares them one by one, reduces them to his five biggest passions, scores how fully he's living each one, and creates markers for what living them at a 10 would actually look like. The results lead to a remarkably personal conversation about family, relationships, physical growth, the Swedish Wealth Institute, happiness, purpose, and where Daniel is—and isn't—putting his attention. Janet also shares her formula for living a passionate life: Intention. Attention. No tension. Intention means becoming clear about what you choose to create. Attention means directing your focus toward it. No tension means taking action and then releasing the need to force the outcome. In this episode, you'll discover: ✔ How to identify what matters most to you ✔ The step-by-step process behind The Passion Test ✔ Why your passions can act as “breadcrumbs” toward your purpose ✔ How to rank competing priorities when everything feels important ✔ Why choosing “lesser things” can pull you away from the life you want ✔ How to score how fully you're currently living your passions ✔ What “markers” are and how to create them ✔ Why clarity can change where you put your time and attention ✔ Janet's “intention, attention, no tension” formula ✔ Why letting go can be as valuable as taking action ✔ How parents can use The Passion Test to better understand their children ✔ How coaches can use passion and clarity to better understand their clients ✔ What it takes to become a certified Passion Test facilitator Daniel's Top Five Passions During the exercise, Daniel identifies five priorities that rise above everything else: 1. Watching his children grow while helping them achieve their dreams 2. Building the Swedish Wealth Institute into a world-changing movement 3. Building an amazing future with his queen 4. Feeling grounded, happy, humble, and seeing the world with childlike awe 5. Pushing his physical limits to see how far his body can go But identifying them is just the beginning. Janet then asks Daniel to score how fully he's currently living each one. That's where the exercise becomes much more revealing. Knowing what matters and actually allocating your life around it are two different things. Try The Passion Test Yourself Start by completing this sentence: “When my life is ideal, I am…” Write down the things that matter most across areas such as relationships, health, career, learning, spirituality, environment, and fun. Then ask yourself: If I could have one of these things but never have the other, which would I choose? Continue comparing them until you've identified your five biggest passions. Then score each one from 0–10 based on how fully you're living it today. Finally, create “markers”: observable evidence that would exist if you were living that passion at a 10. As Janet explains, clarity gives you a much better chance of directing your attention toward what you actually want. 🎁 Action Taker Bonus — Financial Freedom Summit As a thank-you for listening, you're invited to join the Financial Freedom Summit . If you want to build a business, you need to know how to sell. In this episode of the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast, Daniel Wood sits down with Blair Singer , world-class sales trainer, leadership expert, and Rich Dad advisor, for a practical conversation about sales, fear, leadership, team culture, and the “little voice” between our ears. Blair has spent decades training entrepreneurs, business owners, and teams around the world. His message is simple: If you cannot sell, there is no income. If there is no income, there is no business. But the biggest obstacle to selling is usually not technique. It is fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of judgment. Fear of looking pushy. Fear of damaging your reputation. Fear of hearing “no.” Blair explains why becoming a better salesperson starts with learning how to manage that inner voice, and why real training requires more than understanding a concept intellectually. You have to apply it. In this episode, you’ll discover: ✔ Why Blair believes sales is the foundation of entrepreneurship ✔ Why many experienced professionals still resist selling ✔ The difference between selling a product and understanding what someone truly wants ✔ Why asking better questions can transform your sales conversations ✔ How fear and self-consciousness sabotage otherwise capable salespeople ✔ Why “salesmanship begins when the customer says no” ✔ How Blair trains people through real-world experience instead of theory alone ✔ Why application matters as much as understanding ✔ How to train teams using real experiences, simulations, and emotional resistance ✔ What a “Code of Honor” is and why strong teams need one ✔ Why team culture breaks down when leaders are the only people enforcing standards ✔ Blair’s three leadership pillars: Lead, Teach, Inspire ✔ Why a leader’s number one job is to bring out the best in other people This episode is for anyone who sells, leads a team, runs a business, manages people, or wants to become more confident communicating value. 5 Lessons From This Episode 1. If You Want to Build a Business, Learn to Sell Blair makes the point clearly: no sales means no income, and no income means no business. Entrepreneurs often want to focus first on branding, strategy, freedom, or products. Sales is what makes all of those possible. 2. The Biggest Sales Block Is Usually Fear Many people do not struggle because they lack talent. They struggle because they care too much about what others think. The fear of rejection, judgment, or looking “salesy” stops many capable people from asking for the sale. 3. Salesmanship Begins When You Hear “No” Blair reframes rejection as the point where the real growth begins. The first person you may need to sell after hearing “no” is yourself. Can you stay in the conversation? Can you learn? Can you keep moving? 4. Real Learning Requires Application Understanding is one part of learning. Application is the other. Blair’s programs put people into real situations where they have to act, fail, learn, adjust, and try again. Information changes very little until it becomes behavior. 5. A Leader’s Job Is to Bring Out the Best in Others This may be the biggest leadership lesson from the episode. Strong leadership is not intimidation. It is creating an environment where people remember their ability, grow through resistance, and become better because they were part of the team. 🎁 Action Taker Bonus — Free Financial Freedom Summit Tickets If you’ve listened this far, we want to reward your commitment to growth. What if happiness isn’t something you achieve after reaching your next goal? In this episode of the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast, Daniel Wood sits down with bestselling author, spiritual teacher, speaker, and former rock musician Moshe Gersht for a deep conversation about happiness, success, ego, destiny, free will, and finding peace without making it dependent on external outcomes. Moshe’s journey began as the lead singer and songwriter of a rock band. As his career grew, he witnessed successful musicians living what appeared to be the dream while privately struggling, escaping, and numbing themselves. It led him to a powerful realization: You can be successful at what you do and still fail at life. That realization eventually took Moshe from Los Angeles to Jerusalem, where years of spiritual study led him to question what happiness and success actually mean. In this conversation, Moshe explains what he calls the “if/then distortion” —the belief that if we make enough money, reach the goal, find the relationship, fix the problem, or become successful enough, then we’ll finally feel happy. But what happens when “then” keeps moving? In this episode, you’ll discover: ✔ Why external success doesn’t automatically create inner peace ✔ The “if/then distortion” that keeps happiness tied to future outcomes ✔ Why Moshe walked away from his life as a rock musician ✔ The two questions that shape how we experience ourselves and the world ✔ Why worthiness affects how we perceive opportunity and support ✔ Moshe’s “Noise → Quiet → Light” framework ✔ How the ego creates suffering by insisting life should be different ✔ A radically different perspective on destiny and free will ✔ Why letting go of control doesn’t mean giving up responsibility ✔ How to redefine failure without losing ambition ✔ Why the next right decision may be all you need ✔ How to live from joy instead of for joy Moshe also challenges one of our deepest assumptions about achievement: that we need to win at life. What changes when instead of trying to win the game of life, you realize you can’t lose? This conversation is for entrepreneurs, leaders, high achievers, and anyone who has accomplished something they thought would make them happy—only to discover themselves searching for the next thing. 5 Lessons From This Episode 1. Stop Making Happiness Dependent on “If/Then” “If I reach that goal, then I’ll be happy.” “If I make that money, then I’ll feel safe.” “If I fix this problem, then I’ll finally feel okay.” When happiness continually depends on another external result, the destination keeps moving. 2. Success Does Not Automatically Create Peace Moshe saw people reach the heights he was pursuing in music and still struggle internally. Achievement and peace are different things. The question isn’t simply: Am I achieving? It’s also: Who am I becoming? 3. The Ego Says Something Should Be Different Moshe describes a framework of noise, quiet, and light . The noise says: “I should be different.” “They should be different.” “My circumstances should be different.” Peace begins when that noise becomes quieter and we stop fighting the reality of the present moment. 4. The Next Decision Is Enough We put enormous pressure on ourselves to control an entire future we cannot see. Moshe offers another approach: make the next right decision using the information you have and the state you’re currently in. You can take responsibility without carrying the weight of controlling every outcome. 5. Live From Joy, Not for Joy Many people spend their lives working for happiness, peace, freedom, love, and success. Moshe asks us to reverse the equation. What could you create if you acted from joy rather than spending your life chasing it? 🎁 Action Taker Bonus — Free Financial Freedom Summit Tickets If you’ve listened this far, we want to reward your commitment to your own growth. We all inherit a story. Our family, culture, upbringing, beliefs, and life experiences shape how we see ourselves and what's possible. But what if that story isn't the one you're meant to live? In the final episode of our Nike series, Daniel Wood brings together every chapter of Phil Knight's remarkable journey—from a young entrepreneur with an idea to the company that transformed the sports industry forever. This episode follows Nike through its defining years as the company builds its identity around fearless athletes, beginning with Steve Prefontaine and culminating in one of the greatest marketing decisions in business history: signing a young Michael Jordan before he had played a single NBA game. It was an enormous risk. Nike invested nearly its entire basketball marketing budget on one rookie who actually wanted to sign with Adidas. The rest became history. In this episode, you'll discover: ✔ How Steve Prefontaine shaped Nike's culture and identity ✔ Why Prefontaine's legacy still influences the company today ✔ The challenges Nike faced entering the basketball market ✔ Why Michael Jordan initially wanted Adidas instead of Nike ✔ How Nike convinced Jordan to take the meeting that changed history ✔ The creation of the Air Jordan brand ✔ The bold business lesson behind betting everything on one extraordinary opportunity This episode is more than the conclusion of Nike's story. Most people know Nike as one of the biggest brands in the world. Few realize the company almost never got off the ground. In Part 3 of our Nike series, Daniel Wood follows Phil Knight through the most frustrating period of his entrepreneurial journey. After convincing a Japanese manufacturer to work with him, Phil waits an unbelievable 14 months for his first shipment of shoes while everyone around him tells him the business will fail. Most people would have given up. Phil didn't. As the shoes finally arrive, Blue Ribbon Sports begins to take shape. Phil recruits legendary coach Bill Bowerman as his business partner, starts selling shoes from the trunk of his car, lands his first employee, Jeff Johnson, and slowly builds the foundation of what would eventually become Nike. This episode also reveals one of the most famous moments in sneaker history—the invention of the waffle sole—and why it became the turning point that pushed Blue Ribbon Sports toward creating its own brand. How does one of the world's most iconic brands begin? Not with millions of dollars. Not with investors. Not with a perfect business plan. It started with a young man who borrowed money from his father, got rejected by banks, struggled with self-doubt, and became obsessed with a simple question: Could Japanese running shoes compete with industry giants like Adidas and Puma? In this special episode of the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast, Daniel Wood begins a new storytelling series by unpacking the remarkable early life of Nike founder Phil Knight and the events that set the stage for one of the most successful companies in business history. From Phil Knight's childhood in Oregon to his years as a runner under legendary coach Bill Bowerman, his time at Stanford, military service, and world travels, this episode reveals the hidden moments that shaped the future founder of Nike. You'll hear how a rejected business school paper became the foundation of a global brand, why Phil Knight constantly felt the need to prove himself, and how one trip to Japan changed everything. This is Part 1 of the Nike story. And the company hasn't even started yet. If you enjoy entrepreneurship, business history, leadership, resilience, innovation, and the stories behind world-changing companies, this episode is for you. In This Episode, You'll Learn • The childhood experiences that shaped Phil Knight's mindset • How Phil Knight's relationship with his parents influenced his drive to succeed • Why getting cut from a baseball team became a turning point • The role legendary coach Bill Bowerman played in Nike's future • How Bowerman's obsession with shoe innovation inspired Phil Knight • What Phil Knight learned from military service • The Stanford business assignment that sparked the Nike idea • Why Japanese manufacturing caught Phil Knight's attention • How Adidas and Puma dominated the athletic footwear market • The entrepreneurial opportunity Phil Knight spotted before anyone else • What happened during Phil Knight's travels through Hawaii and Asia • The importance of curiosity, persistence, and calculated risk-taking • Why many great companies begin with simple observations • How self-doubt can become fuel for achievement • The lessons modern entrepreneurs can learn from Nike's earliest days Key Takeaways Great companies often begin long before the company itself exists. Many successful founders begin with limited resources and significant uncertainty. 🎁 Free Gifts & Resources Mentioned 2 Weeks Free Access — Swedish Wealth Institute Community 👉 https://event.financialfreedomsummit.online/wealth-creation-movement-sp-4974 Connect With Swedish Wealth Institute Website: 👉 https://swedishwealthinstitute.com/ Instagram: 👉 https://www.instagram.com/swedishwealthinstituteab/ YouTube: 👉 https://www.youtube.com/@SwedishWealthInstitute/featured Episode Series Business Legends Series This episode launches a new storytelling format on the Swedish Wealth Institute Podcast where Daniel breaks down the real stories behind some of the world's most influential companies, founders, and business empires.
