Getting tested for STIs is responsible. But what if your “comprehensive” STI test…isn’t actually comprehensive? Shameless Care founder Robert Johnson found that out the hard way when he tested negative for gonorrhea while unknowingly carrying it in his throat and passing it to a partner. That experience eventually led him to build Shameless Care, a sex-positive telehealth company designed to fill some pretty massive gaps in sexual healthcare. Robert and his Sex Is Good podcast co-host Anna join me to talk about what we actually need to know to take the fear out of sex - so it can be ALL FUN, BABY! In this episode: How Robert tested negative for gonorrhea while unknowingly spreading it Why your STI panel may be missing infections Why HPV is the glitter of the sexual world The HPV vaccine—and why adults over 45 may still want it PrEP, DoxyPEP, and the golden age of sexual health Why gay orgies are safer now than they were in the ’80s and ’90s Why STI prevention can actually give us more sexual freedom The ridiculous stigma around herpes HSV-1 vs. HSV-2 and how either can show up orally or genitally My own experience living—and having lots of sex—with herpes How herpes has mostly functioned as an douchebag screener for me Viagra and Cialis…for women?! An oxytocin nasal spray that I immediately decided I need Why sex-positive doctors matter And why knowing more about sexual health can make sex a whole lot more fun CHECK OUT SHAMELESS CARE: Get private, nonjudgmental sexual healthcare from sex-positive doctors, including comprehensive STI testing, DoxyPEP, PrEP, valacyclovir, sexual wellness medications, oxytocin, and more. Natalie Davis was a straight-and-narrow, rule-following lawyer mom who married her college boyfriend and fully expected to live happily ever after inside the white-picket-fence monogamy model. Then her husband cheated—and eventually asked whether they could start having sex with other people. What followed was messy, painful, liberating, awkward, sexy, and completely life-altering. Natalie is now the author of Saying Yes: My Adventures in Polyamory , a radically candid memoir about surviving infidelity, dismantling everything she thought she knew about marriage, and discovering a version of herself she never knew existed. You know...like being a hot slut on a train. In this episode: Why Natalie never questioned monogamy before her husband’s affair The humiliation of being cheated on—and why she couldn’t bring herself to tell her friends How infidelity became an unexpected doorway into consensual non-monogamy The difference between choosing polyamory and being polyamorous under duress Why staying after betrayal doesn’t make someone a coward or a doormat Watching your partner put effort into dates with someone else and realizing he never dated you that way Why people are sometimes more comfortable with secret cheating than consensual non-monogamy Natalie’s first swinger party What swinging taught her about boundaries, desire, and speaking up Falling in love with another partner for the first time Coming out as polyamorous to family, coworkers, and her child Why non-monogamous people still need legal protection from discrimination The public-sex adventures that transformed a responsible lawyer mom into a hot slut on a train Roadhead, parking-garage blowjobs, sexting, roleplay, and discovering what turns you on in your forties Why consensual secrecy can deliver the thrill of cheating without the betrayal Natalie’s current liminal dating era What it’s really like living in a resident V with her husband and metamour The difference between a V and a throuple The difference between a living arrangement that feels peaceful and one filled with constant low-level tension Why relationships don’t have to last forever to have been successful And why Natalie’s story isn’t finished until she’s dead READ SAYING YES: MY ADVENTURES IN POLYAMORY: Bookshop.org: https://bookshop.org/shop/happyslut FOLLOW NATALIE DAVIS: Website: https://nataliedavisadventures.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nataliedavisadventures/ Medium: https://medium.com/@nataliedavisadventures Polyamory Today: https://medium.com/polyamory-today LEARN MORE ABOUT OPEN: Organization for Polyamory and Ethical Non-monogamy: https://www.open-love.org/ SPONSORS: Become a more skillful lover with Kenneth Play’s Beyond Satisfied Pro course. Pinecones, this week I'm talking to JessJess — party producer, president of Mission Control, organizer with the Bonobo Network, and the woman behind Beyond the Rainbow Events, which throws some of the most thoughtfully inclusive parties in the Bay Area. She's also been non-monogamous since high school, survived a marriage that ended in a way I wouldn't wish on anybody, and rebuilt her whole life inside a community that actually showed up for her. This conversation is about kink and parties and rope suspension, but what it's really about is what it takes to believe you're wanted exactly as you are. You don't have to be kinky, poly, or anywhere near a play party for that one to hit. In this episode: How JessJess ended up with three boyfriends and a girlfriend in high school, plus a full safer-sex negotiation at seventeen Why she and her husband said "open relationship" for years, because nobody had handed them a better word What happens when the person you've loved for twenty years becomes someone you don't recognize Her first kink party: unicorn hair and a pink strappy outfit in a room full of black and red Thuddy vs. sting-y impact play, and the scene where she discovered that her body talks The femdom party where a man volunteered to be her footstool What emotional play actually is, and how going into an insecurity on purpose taught her to feel jealousy in her body before reacting to it Why tops sometimes need aftercare too The sexy dinner party where she was the biggest person in the room and got more attention than anyone else And how patriarchy sold all of us the lie that only one kind of body gets to be wanted — a lie that has cost every single one of us something FOLLOW JESSJESS: Beyond the Rainbow Events LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/beyondtherainbowevents --> that link will take you to JessJess's events on Plura, Fetlife, and everywhere else JessJess's Personal Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/dapperbetch Beyond the Rainbow Events on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/beyondtherainbowevents SUPPORT THE SHOW! PINECONES I'M OVER THE MOON! Mina was my anonymous guest in episode 10 of Closeted , "My First Boyfriend Suffered a Lot Because My Sex Drive Was Too High." Now, she's out of the closet and full of fresh, candid, tender, sexy updates - and holy hell, has she ever made CHANGES in the last two years. In this episode: The major family breakthrough that changed everything for Mina When sex becomes an escape instead of a source of joy Getting cut off by the friends she loves most - and how that led to her healing Grief, loneliness, and hitting rock bottom Graduating from her sexual mentor The pressure to be the "perfect daughter" Junk food men, emotional support trout, and slutty salmon Getting rejected after perfectly fine sex—and being totally okay with it Reopening her sexual HR recruiting department Why starting a stand-up comedy career is a great way to get laid Mina's very shy domestic slave/puppy Bisexuality, kissing women, and spreading her bi wings Finding her voice through stand-up comedy in South Korea LISTEN TO MINA'S ORIGINAL CLOSETED EPISODE: Episode 10: My First Boyfriend Suffered a Lot Because My Sex Drive Was Too High https://podcasts.apple.com/bm/podcast/10-my-first-boyfriend-suffered-a-lot-because-my-sex/id1832942242?i=1000734016272 FOLLOW MINA: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jungmal.mina/ Stand Up Seoul: https://www.instagram.com/standupseoul_official/ SEE MINA LIVE & SUPPORT NORTH KOREAN REFUGEES: Stand-Up Comedy Show for Freedom Speakers International (FSI) Saturday, August 22 | 8:00 PM Taco Amigo, Itaewon All proceeds benefit Freedom Speakers International, a Seoul-based nonprofit that provides English public speaking, mentorship, and career development to North Korean refugees. One of the biggest things making a joyful sex life hard to cultivate in patriarchy is our collective acceptance of patriarchal beauty standards. These bullshit standards have convinced almost everyone that they're not sexy. IT'S A LIE, PINECONES, IT'S A DIRTY LIIIIIIIE. All sorts of bodies are sexy, all sorts of people are sexy, and there really is someone for everyone - but only if we are able to deprogram patriarchy's fuckery from our minds and see ourselves for who and what we really are. Fat rolls aren't gross and cellulite isn't disgusting. Wrinkles are not something you have to hide to be beautiful. These ideas are just the lies of patriarchal capitalism trying to make you think you need to spend money and starve yourself to be lovable. Reality check: You are lovable RIGHT EFFING NOW. Listen to me read my Substack essay, You Can't Hate Yourself Thin, in this week's audio-only solo episode. In this episode: Why I went audio-only this week - I'm on a semi-real vacation visiting my mom for her 79th birthday! The lie patriarchy teaches about which bodies are allowed to be sexy Hitting my lifelong goal weight in 2019, and the fucked-up sense of "benevolent superiority" that came with it The self-love weight-loss advice I used to smugly hand out like gospel *cringe* How gaining the weight back spiraled into daily compulsive eating and shame My New York trip, the naked mirror incident, and the moment my internal sex machine screeched to a halt Growing up in a family that taught me to fear food and fat The baloney incident — my earliest memory of learning fat was bad The Atkins diet, the watermelon breakdown, and finally learning what hunger actually feels like The relationship epiphany in my mid-twenties that unlocked real, fast, joyful weight loss Crying into my ex's chest and realizing my "self-love" had a body-shaped asterisk on it What I'm doing now to reprogram myself Why the obsession with one "correct" body is patriarchy's rulebook, not the truth — and how we get free of it SUPPORT THE SHOW! Amanda Dames, The Kink Consultant, loves helping couples struggling to reconcile a mismatch in their desires, specifically surrounding kink. She's a certified Somatica sex and relationship coach and certified sexologist who specializes in couples where one partner is kinky and the other one isn't, and the way she works with them will change how you think about asking for what you want, whether your fantasy involves rope or just finally being taken to a dinner you didn't have to plan. In this episode: - Why both monogamy and polyamory require partners to make sacrifices, and no one wants to talk about it - Amanda's first coaching move isn't catering to the kinky partner, it's finding out what the vanilla partner actually wants - Why "I don't have any fantasies" is almost never true - The massage problem: why her ask and his ask are way closer than either of them thinks - Porn vs. romance novels — both are erotic material, but only one gets made fun of by men - Nine out of ten of Amanda's clients are husbands who want to submit (and her theory on why the dominant ones are all from New Jersey) - Amanda's ten-session process with couples, laid out start to finish - Why she thinks communication is NOT the most important thing in relationships - The most freeing thing you'll hear if you're scared to top someone — they're already doing 90% of the work - Subspace, dom flow, and finding your authentic dominant instead of playing a role - Amanda gets real about her own jealousy, and says something out loud she never has before - How patriarchy cuts men off from their vulnerability and women off from their power FOLLOW AMANDA: Join her free monthly group for women exploring their dominant side — email info@thekinkconsultant.com with a photo or social handle Website: https://amandadames.com The Kink Consultant Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/3psOpSZMQQYm2cN69bIKwc Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_kinkconsultant Join Amanda at Hedonism for Swinkation (use code TKC50 for up to $400 off): https://www.swinkation.com/ SUPPORT THE SHOW! My new crush Annette Benedetti — intimacy coach and host of Talk Sex with Annette — is one of the most joyful, flirty humans I've ever talked sex with. And she got here the hard way: surviving assault at 13, a town that acted like it was her fault, and decades of healing before finding her voice again. This is the story movies never tell — the part after , where you survive, you still want sex, and you go on to build the wildly happy erotic life the world tried to take away from you. This is the story I want for all survivors. In this one we get into: The misogynistic atmosphere that groomed Annette as a young girl, and the story her town told instead of the truth What patriarchy does to survivors (and why the conventional-wife "happy ending" is a myth) Reclaiming her voice and how President Trump unwittingly inspired her podcast Becoming her own best lover: her free 365 Days of Orgasms journey A love letter to the G-spot and A-spot - yum! Pinecones, this week is a little different: a joint episode! I traveled to Houston to sit down with John and Jackie Melfi—leaders in the American swinger community, owners of the legendary Colette lifestyle clubs (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and New Orleans), and the couple behind OpenLove101.com , where I used to blog back in the day. Between them they've got three-plus decades of experience with non-monogamous marriage, swinging, and sexual freedom, and their studio team handled the filming, so you KNOW it looks good. Full disclosure: John and Jackie and I don't agree on everything—the swinger world is a lot more politically diverse than the poly/ENM crowd—and that's kind of the point. This is what it looks like to connect across differences on the things that matter: autonomy, freedom, pleasure, joy, and integrity while pursuing all of the above. In this episode: Social monogamy vs. sexual monogamy—and why those "monogamous" birds are hiding a scandal in the nest If we were naturally monogamous, we wouldn't need so many rules How John went from Star Trek nerd to lifestyle club owner (via one very inspiring night in Amsterdam) The high school double-date that turned into a marriage… three decades later Jackie's journey from strict monogamy to sexual empowerment—and the daily journaling that became OpenLove101 Comets: the long-distance lovers (and friends!) you keep for years—and John's realization that he's been collecting them all along Why we need to stop fetishizing romantic relationships and start honoring romantic friendships My marriage, my divorce-in-progress, and what happens when someone loves the idea of you more than the actual you The childhood shame stories John and I both carry from first grade—and how shame rewrites our memories The myth that you can't be sexually prolific AND wholesome How men can become givers in bed (step one: actually see women as people) The bartender who taught teenage John everything, bless her Why "be a safe man" is the best sex advice there is The spit-in-the-mouth trend, litigated at last The micro-flinch story: what real attunement looks like in bed At the end of the episode, I share something personal: I lost a good friend to suicide this week. If you've been putting off a catch-up call with someone you love, make the call. And if you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 —or email me. We take care of each other around here. Pinecones, I am GLOWING. This week I sat down with a legend: Polly Superstar—founder of San Francisco's iconic Mission Control and the global Kinky Salon movement, latex fashion designer, author of the memoir Polly: Sex Culture Revolutionary , and now the magical mermaid behind the Writing with Mermaids somatic writing retreats. For 25 years, Polly threw the most whimsical, artistic, immersive sex parties on the planet... while secretly being a sensitive introvert whose bed was literally in the coat check. We talk about what it costs to build everybody else's liberation, why letting go of Kinky Salon was their real life's work, and how the story you're dying to write is hiding in your body. In this episode: How a latex fashion designer from London became the godmother of San Francisco sex party culture What actually happens at a Kinky Salon (lovingly known as "the sex party you go to and don't get laid") The haunted-house Zoom kink parties that kept everyone sane during the pandemic—featuring a demon topping you from Hell Why Polly says "everybody else's liberation was my prison" Living at Mission Control for nine years with a bed in the coat check Burnout, boners, and being SO over both What it's like to be raised with ZERO sexual shame—and then discovering patriarchy is alive and well Why Polly explored celibacy after decades of sluttiness (and why their community got weird about it) Setting out to find a lover in every port... and the same man showing up in every single one (reader, they married him) Being a California love bomber in Copenhagen Gender, labels, and why Annie Sprinkle's "metamorphosexual" might be the best one ever coined Whimsymaxxing as a 25-year legacy (thank you for the word, Liz Plank!) I met Lyra at Dixie De La Tour's birthday orgy in San Francisco. (Yes, that's a sentence I get to say now.) We made out, she flew across the country a few weeks later to spend 28 magical hours with me and my partner Daniel, and my crush on her is TRULY ridiculous. Lyra is a professional dominatrix and sex educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area who specializes in pegging, anal play, and helping people feel more at home in their own bodies and desires. But that's only part of her story. She also grew up in a high-control religious cult, survived an unimaginably painful rock bottom, and rebuilt her life with the help of community, pleasure, and an unwavering refusal to let anybody shame her sexuality. She's funny, brilliant, deeply compassionate, and one of the most emotionally intelligent people I've met in a long time. I adore this woman. In this episode, we discuss: How Lyra went from cult kid to professional dominatrix Why pressure doesn't work for sex (or relationships) Growing up in a high-control religious community that was oddly sex-positive... and deeply unhealthy Discovering polyamory and Bay Area sex parties Why powerful men often crave surrender What it's actually like to specialize in pegging The difference between empowering sex work and exploitation Supporting men's emotional healing through intimacy and touch Why Lyra believes we're all capable of reclaiming our "slutitude" SUPPORT LYRA: Website: https://queenlyra.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/queenlyra11 SUPPORT THE SHOW! Alex is a straight Black man in his mid-forties who has only had one relationship in his entire life. For years, loneliness, rejection, and crushing social anxiety convinced him that women were the problem, and he reinvented himself as a huge jerk for most of his adult life. Deep down, though, he was carrying wounds much older and deeper than he realized. In this brutally honest conversation, we talk about sex work, incel culture, entitlement, masculinity, loneliness, and the long road from resentment to self-awareness. It's one of the most nuanced conversations I've ever had about the emotional lives of lonely men—and what it actually takes to heal. In this episode: The question at the heart of male loneliness: "What's wrong with me?" How rejection turned into resentment What it's like to spend decades searching for love without finding it How sex can meet a basic need but can't fill an emotional void Why he thought women were the problem The panic attacks that still happen when he approaches a woman My controversial theory about what lonely men actually need A dating strategy that takes the pressure off everyone SUPPORT THE SHOW! It's my goal to get as many of my comet lovers (and anchor lovers!) on the show as possible, and Billy Procida, Jr., is the first! Huzzah! I have such a crush. He's been featured in the New York Times and writes about sex, dating, and gender for Mashable. I like Billy because he sounds like straight bro comedians like Joe Rogan could sound like if they weren't so deeply misogynistic. In this episode, we discuss: Billy's post-breakup happy slut era! Yay! Why casual doesn't have to mean careless How to flirt with women without being weird The surprising secret to getting laid more Non-monogamy, comet lovers, and relationship freedom Why nonsexualized nudity is important for sex positivity Sex parties, gangbang etiquette, and consent-oriented communication that actually works How to be emotionally available without rushing into commitment SUPPORT BILLY: Billy's Website: www.manwhorepod.com Subscribe to the Manwhore Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-manwhore-podcast-sex-positive-conversations/id864068000 Billy on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/billyprocidajr/ Billy on Threads: https://www.threads.com/@billyprocidajr Naked Comedy Show NYC (June 25): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1989846095236 Naked Comedy Show Chicago (July 10): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1989444027641 Hear Me Overshare on the Manwhore Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/can-you-switch-from-polyamory-to-monogamy/id864068000?i=1000753133897 SUPPORT THE SHOW! I'm bringing you a delicious glimpse into my current sex and love life this week, pinecones, and it is JUICY. Basically, a woman my partner Daniel and I met at a sex party flew across the country to spend intimate time with us and IT. WAS. MAGICAL. And unexpectedly healing. In this episode: • Why I think great sex can be profoundly healing • How being deeply desired is changing my relationship with my body • The connection between body image and sexuality • What happens when attraction, safety, and chemistry all align • Why our real attractions often have very little to do with conventional beauty standards • The surprising creative benefits of a thriving sex life • The difference between being chosen and being truly seen • Why I don't believe one person can be everything for their partner • What compersion feels like in real life • How sexual freedom became a superpower Listen to my interview on the Manwhore Podcast with Billy Procida for additional context: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/can-you-switch-from-polyamory-to-monogamy/id864068000?i=1000753133897 SUPPORT THE SHOW! Content warning: Mentions of sexual assault and child sexual abuse. We live within a system that allows sexual abuse of all kinds to flourish without much accountability, and because of that, a lot of us carry deep trauma around sex and intimacy. Rachel (Rae) Halder is one of those people, and she's also a certified trauma resolution and erotic embodiment coach with over a decade of experience helping others heal the same wounds she's been working to heal within herself. This episode deals with some heavy themes, buuuut we also talk about the Italian hippie who worshipped Rae like a sun goddess...so it's not all doom and gloom. Hehe! This is Happy Slut, after all! In this episode: Rae's journey from childhood sexual abuse survivor to trauma resolution and erotic embodiment coach Recovering a repressed memory years after the abuse occurred Why our nervous systems dissociate, freeze, and fawn during sex How unprocessed trauma gets stored in the body The devastating gray area of consensual encounters that become traumatic experiences Why some people intellectually want sex while their bodies experience it as unsafe The surprising ways trauma can masquerade as asexuality Growing up Mennonite and questioning patriarchal ideas about God, gender, and sexuality Starting a groundbreaking blog about sexual violence before the #MeToo movement The Italian hippie who accidentally sparked Rae's sexual awakening Goddess worship, tantra, and discovering what truly safe erotic connection feels like Chronic illness, interstitial cystitis, and the connection between trauma and the body Why agency, autonomy, and choice are essential ingredients for healing The difference between wanting sex and feeling safe enough to receive pleasure How survivors can reclaim their sexuality without forcing themselves past their body's limits What "erotic safety" actually means Why healing often happens more slowly—and more gently—than we want it to FOLLOW RAE HALDER: Website: https://www.raehalder.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rachel.rae.halder Real Sex Substack: https://realsex.substack.com/ FOLLOW SAMIA & HAPPY SLUT: Samia's Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/samia.mounts/ Happy Slut on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/happyslutcast/ Happy Slut on TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@happyslutcast SUPPORT THE SHOW: Become a paying Substack subscriber: https://samiamounts.substack.com Venmo Samia: @Samia-Mounts / https://account.venmo.com/u/Samia-Mounts CashApp Samia: $SamiaMounts / https://cash.app/$SamiaMounts Email me your thoughts or pitches at happyslutcast@gmail.com . Ali Bravo is a professional orgy organizer, a sex positive educator, a kinky leather artist, and a powerhouse force for destigmatizing kink, pleasure, and desire. When I met her in person a couple of weeks ago at Dixie De La Tour's Birthday Forgy (Friend Orgy), she was freshly resourced from her pre-party kink scene with one of her partners, a man who goes by the moniker Pleasure Wizard (and apparently REALLY lives up to that name!), and she was leading a group of 75 excited attendees through a consent and STI disclosure demo, capping it off with a proud announcement of her own positive herpes status. WHAT. A. BOSS. In this episode: What it actually takes to organize a 75-person orgy Why Ali uses kinky “pre-care” scenes as a leadership tool before big events Growing up fat, horny, and desperate for validation The heartbreaking origins of Ali’s pleasure journey Discovering orgasm, restraint, and kink later in life Why so many women struggle to stay connected to their bodies during sex How patriarchy disconnects us from pleasure STI disclosure, herpes stigma, and why “all the hotties have herpes” The hilariously absurd logistics of glory holes, Grope-a-Clown boxes, pussy pageants and cockstume contests Why whimsy, play, and crafts belong at sex parties Ali’s philosophy on polyamory, metamours, and “aurora partnerships” The difference between “platonic erotic” and “erotic platonic” relationships Why getting railed is, apparently, a public health necessity Building chosen family through kink and sex-positive community Why everything you desire might actually be on the other side of fear READ ALI's COMPREHENSIVE STI DISCLOSURE ARTICLE: https://momotaroapotheca.com/blogs/vaginal-wellness/talking-about-stis-how-to-have-clear-amp-caring-conversations-about-sexual-health?srsltid=AfmBOopWdLDADnQIP53Y-kY3VIm3_wZuU3z4BICMcfa2c6Fqp6lVOMAE FOLLOW ALI BRAVO: Ali's Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/raptorbravo/ Ali's Leather Working Instragram: https://www.instagram.com/raptrix/ FOLLOW SAMIA & HAPPY SLUT: Samia's Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/samia.mounts/ Happy Slut on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/happyslutcast/ Happy Slut on TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@happyslutcast SUPPORT THE SHOW: Become a paying Substack subscriber: https://samiamounts.substack.com Venmo Samia: @Samia-Mounts / https://account.venmo.com/u/Samia-Mounts CashApp Samia: $SamiaMounts / https://cash.app/$SamiaMounts Email me your thoughts or pitches at happyslutcast@gmail.com. Mila Jam is an international pop sensation, an artivist (activist + artist), a trans icon, a rising star, and somehow magically also my friend?!?!? How did life get so cool? Mila and I go deep in this conversation. We talk about gender, womanhood, dating, celibacy, the “boyfriend show,” patriarchal conditioning, trans visibility, intimacy, emotional labor, and why so many modern women are just…tired. Also: men will apparently fuck couches. In this episode: Mila’s journey from Southern Baptist kid to trans icon How “the boyfriend show” can last years The surprising freedom of celibacy Why modern women are exhausted by men Dating while trans in pre-social media NYC The difference between being desired and being valued Ghosting, emotional cowardice, and modern dating culture How “women have out-menned men” Patriarchy, power, and emotional labor What women actually want from men How to stop accepting breadcrumb relationships Trans womanhood, safety, intimacy, and visibility The healing power of women supporting women Why good treatment matters more than chemistry alone For ALL THINGS Mila: https://www.milajam.com/ Listen to Mila's music: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6m7wJXzvVyE0j6eef6pj1a?si=li_LtmpJSHaHoC99v78yIQ&nd=1&dlsi=8ce32e81b47b4973 Watch Mila's iconic music videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/milajammusic FOLLOW MILA ON SOCIALS: https://www.instagram.com/themilajam/ https://www.tiktok.com/@themilajam SUPPORT THE SHOW! What if queerness was infinite, instead of limited by the strict rules and norms of our patriarchal world? What if we abandoned the binary of tops and bottoms, gays and straights, women and men, and embraced the idea--nay, the reality!--that all of us are fluid, ever-changing beings with deep wellsprings of desire and turn-on we would never know about if we didn't get curious and explore? I talk about all this and more with my guest this week, James Patrick Nelson, or as I call him, Jamie. In this episode: Why Jamie thinks the world would be better if more straight men got fucked in the ass The surprising emotional power of being sexually receptive Jamie’s chaotic, joyful anal debut story (yes, it involved a threesome) Why “top” and “bottom” are wildly insufficient ways to describe human desire The queer loneliness of trying to fit into tiny little boxes How the pandemic changed Jamie’s understanding of intimacy, beauty, and self-worth Why joyful, consensual anal sex is still almost absent from mainstream media The difference between humiliation and vulnerability—and why patriarchy confuses the two Jamie’s very horny origin story for wanting a tattoo A sexy game for exes that honestly might fix modern dating Why the best sex is often about feeling truly seen and worshipped The making of Jamie’s sensual new indie film Something to Surprise Me How queer people are reclaiming sexuality from shame, binaries, and bad storytelling Ass worship, emotional intimacy, and the radical act of yielding with joy SUPPORT SOMETHING TO SURPRISE ME ON SEED & SPARK: https://seedandspark.com/fund/something-to-surprise-me?token=4de1630be7d5a70c7cd806c60339bcf9a171bb0ac77ec1d99238fc1dbd4bc803#story WATCH FOR YEARS TO COME: https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=-Tu7iceWO2px5pPU&v=jMrHzo03fxE&feature=youtu.be ALL THINGS JAMIE: https://www.james-patrick-nelson.com/ SUPPORT THE SHOW, CUTIE PATOOT! In this episode, I ask myself why , oh whyyy , am I so weird with women? I love them, I've known I'm attracted to them both sexually and romantically since I was a kid, and yet I've only managed to have one relationship with a woman that only lasted six weeks in college and otherwise have been a massive failure in the lady-dating department. And I'm not alone. I've heard lots of bisexual girlies talking about how they don't even feel like they can claim the bisexual label because they almost exclusively date and sleep with men. Most of the bi women I know feel they aren't "bi enough." In this episode: I’ve wanted women my whole life—and stayed silent One intense, six-week relationship that blew me open…and shut me down Why men feel “easier” (and what that says about me) The part I hate admitting: I’m the one getting in my own way Is this a me problem…or a bi girl problem? And the twist I did NOT see coming Read the original essay on my Substack: https://samiamounts.substack.com/p/why-am-i-so-weird-with-women Screen For Years to Come: https://james-patrick-nelson.com/for-years-to-come SUPPORT THE SHOW, CUTIE PATOOT! Fox is a happily married parent with a normal work and home life...and a spicy social life with his kinky friends. Ooh la la! In this audio-only episode with Happy Slut's very first anonymous guest, we get into what happens when a self-described “regular Joe” follows his curiosity into the world of kink play and wildly honest connection—and finds out it sets him free. We talk about: The super-slow, podcast-fueled awakening that led him into kink How rope nights and kink clubs can foster community The surprisingly complex question: what even counts as sex? How he navigated opening things up with his wife (without blowing up his marriage) Why “you don’t have to have sex” was the gateway that made everything possible The ethics of play: communication, consent, and not being an absolute menace Having multiple play partners…and realizing you can actually do something about your crushes The joy of helping people live out fantasies they never thought they’d get to experience Why exploration, curiosity, and emotional safety matter way more than labels This one is funny, thoughtful, unexpectedly wholesome, and just the right amount of chaotic. Basically: what if you could look like a regular person on the outside…and still be out here living your weird little dream life? Oh wait...that's you? Yeah, baby pinecone, that's ALL of us.
