One year ago, I nervously hit "publish" on the very first episode of Witch Beneath the Willow . Today, we're celebrating one full year, our 50th episode, and the final installment in our Full Moon Magick series. What a beautiful moon to end on. Known as the Buck Moon, this July full moon is named for the season when deer grow their magnificent antlers—a symbol of strength, resilience, and the quiet, steady growth that happens one day at a time. Together we'll explore the history behind this moon, its many traditional names, the folklore of the Wort Moon and Thunder Moon, old weather lore, magical correspondences, and why this year's Buck Moon in Aquarius encourages us to find strength not only within ourselves, but within our communities as well. As we close this chapter, I also want to take a moment to celebrate what we've built together over the past year. Whether you've been here since the very first episode or you've only recently found your way beneath the willow, thank you for making this little community what it is. I truly couldn't have imagined this journey, and I'm so grateful you've chosen to walk it with me. Journal Prompts:• What does the most confident version of yourself look and feel like?• What is one short-term goal and one long-term goal you want to focus your energy on? What practical steps can you begin taking this week to move toward them? Thank you for joining me beneath the willow tree. I'll see you in Season Two. nsta and TikTok: @witchbeneaththewillow Kofi

The audio in this episode sounds a little different than usual, and I wanted to acknowledge that right away. I’m recording from my new place after my recent move, and while I was hoping this setup would work, it’s safe to say… this isn’t it. Thank you for bearing with me while I get settled—I’ll be experimenting with a different recording space for next week to get us back to the cozy sound we’re used to. Athena is one of the most recognizable goddesses in Greek mythology, but she is so much more than simply the goddess of wisdom. She is the goddess of strategy, craftsmanship, justice, and thoughtful leadership—the calm voice that reminds us to pause before we act and to seek understanding before certainty. In this week's Grimoire of the Gods, we're exploring Athena's remarkable birth from the mind of Zeus, her rivalry with Poseidon for the city of Athens, the tragic story of Arachne, her role in the Trojan War, and why she became the trusted guide of so many legendary heroes. We'll also talk about her symbols and correspondences, signs she may be reaching out, and practical ways to honor her in a modern witchcraft practice. As always, we'll close with Living the Spell, where you'll find: A ritual to invite wisdom and clarity into your life An Athena-inspired herbal tea blend A crafting invocation to weave protection and intention into every stitch So pour yourself something warm, settle in beneath the willow, and let's turn another page in our Grimoire of the Gods together. The Strawberry Moon rises on June 29th, bringing with it the sweetness of early summer and a reminder that not everything beautiful is meant to last forever. In this episode, we're exploring the folklore and symbolism behind June's full moon, from its Indigenous roots and traditional names to its connections with love, abundance, and the fleeting joys of the season. We'll talk about the grounding influence of Capricorn, the magic of ripening, and why prosperity isn't always measured in money. Together, we'll explore correspondences, deity associations, and simple ways to work with this moon's energy through pleasure, play, and appreciation. We'll also discuss shadow work, a honey jar for joy, and a sweet little strawberry spell inspired by love, passion, and desire. So brew yourself a cup of tea, step outside into the summer evening, and join me beneath the willow tree as we celebrate the first full moon of summer. Journal Prompts Are my daily habits supporting the future I want to create? Where in my life do I need stronger boundaries? Is there guilt or shame preventing me from fully experiencing pleasure and joy? What sweetness do I want to invite into my life during this season? What brought me wonder as a child, and how can I reconnect with that feeling now? Blessed be. TikTok and Insta: @witchbeneaththewillow Kofi

* So sorry for my sick voice, I put off recording for as long as I could hoping my summer cold would clear up* Step into the golden light of the Summer Solstice in this week's episode as we explore the magic, folklore, and traditions of Litha. Together, we'll wander through the history of this midsummer sabbat, uncover myths of the Oak and Holly Kings, discuss the wild presence of the fae, and explore how cultures across the world have honored the longest day of the year. We'll also dive into Litha correspondences, solar magic, divination, healing practices, and simple ways to celebrate the season in your own life. In the Living the Spell section, I'll guide you through creating a reusable Litha Candle for Joy, teach you how to safely make and work with solar water, and leave you with a few journal prompts to help you reflect on what has blossomed in your life so far this year. Journal Prompts: • What has flourished in my life since the beginning of the year, and how can I honor the effort it took to cultivate it? • Where am I being invited to experience more joy instead of constantly striving for the next achievement? • As the wheel begins its gradual turn toward the darker half of the year, what wisdom or abundance do I want to carry forward with me? Whether you're celebrating with a bonfire surrounded by loved ones, harvesting herbs from your garden, greeting the sunrise with a cup of tea in hand, or simply taking a few extra moments to appreciate the warmth of the season, I hope this episode inspires you to slow down, savor the abundance around you, and honor this beautiful turning point in the Wheel of the Year. This week, we're spending time with one of the most beloved herbs in the apothecary: chamomile. Often known as a simple bedtime tea, chamomile has a much deeper story to tell. Together we'll explore its ancient history, folklore, magical correspondences, medicinal uses, and the surprising role this tiny flower has played in human lives for thousands of years. From the temples of Ancient Egypt to medieval cottage floors, from dream magic and protection rituals to herbal medicine and garden wisdom, chamomile has earned its reputation as a plant capable of almost anything. So brew yourself a cup of tea, get comfortable, and join me for another installment of Apothecary Notes as we explore the myth, magic, and medicine of chamomile. A quick note before you dive in: you may notice that my audio sounds a little different in this episode. Somewhere along the way, my microphone seems to have decided it had other plans, and despite my best efforts, I couldn't pinpoint the issue before recording. The result is a slightly tinny sound that isn't quite up to my usual standards. Thank you for bearing with me this week while I troubleshoot the problem, and I promise I'll be working on it before next Monday's episode. This week, we're stepping onto the battlefield to meet Ares, the Greek god of war, courage, conflict, and survival. Often remembered only for bloodlust and battle, Ares is one of the most misunderstood figures in Greek mythology. Together we'll explore his myths, his relationship with Aphrodite, his connection to the Amazons, the lessons hidden within his defeats, and the deeper truths he reveals about anger, courage, resilience, and the parts of ourselves we often try to keep hidden. I have to admit, I was genuinely surprised by how relevant Ares still feels thousands of years later. What began as an episode about the god of war quickly became an exploration of the battles we fight every day—against fear, grief, self-doubt, burnout, injustice, and the voice in our heads telling us to give up. Exploring Ares' energy ended up feeling far more empowering than I ever expected. In this episode, we'll also discuss ways to work with Ares in modern spiritual practice, including correspondences, offerings, shadow work, fire divination, a protective candle ward, an armor enchantment for jewelry, and an invocation for strength during difficult seasons of life. So pour yourself a cup of tea, settle in, and join me beneath the willow as we explore the myths and magic of Ares. TikTok and Insta: @WitchBeneathTheWillow Kofi

This week’s episode is a little different… and a little special. After a recent trip to New Orleans, I found myself completely enchanted by the spirit of the city—the history, the people, the magic woven into every street, garden, and storefront. So instead of our usual structure, this episode is more of a journey… a storytelling walk through one of the most spiritually alive places in America. Together, we’ll explore the layered magic of New Orleans—from its rich blend of cultural and spiritual traditions to the lives of the women who shaped its mystical legacy, including Marie Laveau, Mary Oneida Toups, and Wilhelmina Mullen. We’ll gently touch on the differences between Voodoo, Hoodoo, and modern witchcraft, and reflect on what it means to practice with reverence in a place so deeply rooted in ancestral tradition. I’ll also share pieces of my own experience in the city—moments that felt sacred, grounding, and quietly transformative—and, of course, we’ll still close with a “Living the Spell” section inspired by the heart of New Orleans magic: community, connection, and care. This episode is just a glimpse—a soft introduction to a city that holds far more than can be captured in a single conversation. And don’t worry… our regular programming will return next week. Until then, come wander with me.

Hera is often remembered as the jealous wife. But that is only a fraction of her story. In this week’s Grimoire of the Gods , we sit with Hera—Queen of Heaven, protector of women, goddess of marriage, childbirth, and sacred devotion—and begin to unravel the myth behind the stereotype. Together, we explore her origins, her power, and the stories that shaped her reputation… from her complex marriage to Zeus, to the trials of Herakles, to the quiet strength she carries as both a protector and a force of consequence. This episode is not just about who Hera was— but who she becomes when we allow her to be seen in full. We’ll also step into her magic, including how to recognize when she may be calling to you, how to begin working with her energy, and a guided invocation and spell for reclaiming your power and standing fully in your worth. So make yourself a cup of tea, settle in, and let’s sit beneath the willow together… with a goddess who demands to be understood, not simplified. In a world of gods known for power, passion, and spectacle… Hestia is something entirely different. She is the quiet flame at the center of the home. The steady presence that does not waver. Hades is one of the most misunderstood gods in Greek mythology. Often painted as a villain in modern retellings, the ancient myths reveal something very different — a quiet, powerful ruler who governs the unseen realm with balance, justice, and unwavering order. Together, we explore the origins of the underworld, the famous myth of Persephone’s descent, and the deeper meaning behind Hades’ role as the unseen guardian of life’s most inevitable transition. We’ll also walk through the structure of the Greek underworld, the journey of the soul after death, and the lessons hidden within myths like Orpheus and Eurydice, Heracles and Cerberus, and the eternal punishment of Sisyphus. But this episode isn’t just about mythology. We’ll also explore how modern witches and spiritual practitioners can work with the energy of Hades through grounding magic, ancestor work, and rituals that help us navigate grief, transformation, and hidden abundance. Living the Spell in this episode includes:• A grounding ritual for balance and stability• An affirmation for hidden wealth and abundance• A ritual for sending words to a loved one in the underworld Hades reminds us that darkness is not something to fear — it is simply the place where transformation begins.
