Has a little more depth to it than expected as well even though it's not fully explored that feels more like a choice rather than the filmmakers didn't realize they didn't. Bring on more Carpenter cinema that isn't Carpenter! The Dog Stars probably wasn't worth the wait, but I feel I sort of nailed how I think this film could've improved and ultimately what made it not work. Sorry Jacob Elordi and Co. its not fully your fault! Insidious Out of the Further is a sixth installment of a franchise that is just okay. If we are just okay at number six then something is going somewhat right at least and that's where I land. Tony I was pleasantly surprised with I'm not normally a biopic guy, but this definitely had enough different and universal to be accessible to everyone that aren't just Bourdain fans. Looking at someone's origin and how they became who they became is so much more interesting than a sweeping movie over time basking in someone's success. Figured it would be a good time to talk about a slightly underrated film and performance from him and Carpenter. Also shouts to revisiting movies for a second time and not letting expectations skew your opinion when you first see something which is definitely what happened to me with this one. Revisiting Insidious was better than I was expecting to be honest and I think does things in a more refreshing way than the Conjuring franchise has done. I'll see if that success is really limited to this first entry, but this early 2010s horror was definitely an era.
