Happy Halloween! 👻 We're bringing back one of our favourite episodes from last year — and quite possibly the episode we've received the most messages about! Before meeting Bradley, I spent four years living in a haunted house in the Philippines. And let's just say, I have some pretty wild stories. The funny thing? Despite being together for years, Bradley had never heard most of them. Mainly because he's the world's biggest skeptic and has a special talent for poking holes in absolutely everything. So last Halloween, I finally sat him down and shared some of my spookiest experiences. In this throwback episode, we're talking about: The haunted house I lived in for four years in the Philippines — and why we never moved out. The three murders that happened in our house just three months before we moved in. The spirit buried beneath our house in Thailand, and how we set her free. Other unexplained experiences from my years growing up in Asia. How my mom uses feng shui to explain some of what we experienced, including stories from her book, Searching for the Caravan . Bradley questioning absolutely everything (because of course he does). Whether you're a believer, a skeptic, or just love a good scary story, this one's for you. Grab a blanket, turn down the lights, and enjoy this Halloween throwback! 🎃 Connect with Us: 👉 Join us in Side Chat with the Roses for the aftershow, where we keep the conversation going and answer even more of your Dear Roses questions. http://relatablewiththeroses.substack.com/subscribe 👉 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradandsophia 👉 Submit future questions, topic suggestions, or respond to listener prompts: directtobradandsophia@gmail.com
Episode 70! And somehow, we've gone from a casual dog walk to hanging out on a movie set, and from wedding etiquette to Bradley getting VERY worked up over $15. This week on Relatable with the Roses , we're talking about: An unexpected movie-set encounter: How a trip to feed the ducks turned into chai, coconut blessings, and making friends with Indian film stars. Behind the scenes at Peloton: Bradley's dream of going to space, his latest Peloton adventures, and the incredible community behind the Roses Rebels. Good Week, Bad Week: Solo parenting, chaotic British trains, and the little family moments we're loving lately. Dear Roses: Would you reconsider a friendship over a surprise wedding bill? How do you set boundaries with an overly friendly (and lonely) neighbour? And what do you do when your mother-in-law keeps decorating your house? Plus, we discover that Bradley's mum has been secretly hiding ceramic animals around our house. Apparently, minimalism is a concept not everyone understands. 😂 Got a dilemma for Dear Roses? Send it our way! We can't promise professional advice, but we can promise opinions. It's spooky season, and we're putting Bradley's skepticism to the test! 👻 This week, we're sharing real-life ghost stories submitted by our listeners, from haunted houses and mysterious voices to some seriously creepy encounters that even Bradley struggles to explain. In this episode: 👻 Real-life ghost stories: Our listeners share their creepiest paranormal experiences, including a crying baby beneath the floorboards, ghostly figures, and a mysterious blanket that seemingly had a mind of its own. 🇬🇧 Sophia fails her Life in the UK test: After five years in Britain, two days of cramming, and one very unfortunate question, Sophia is officially one answer away from passing. 📰 Did Bradley leave Sophia for another woman?! A 15-year-old stock photo of us makes an unexpected appearance in the Daily Mail under a VERY unfortunate headline. 🛍️ Kelly Clarkson vs. a Brooklyn shop: We debate a viral customer-service dispute and whether celebrities should publicly call out businesses when things go wrong. 🔮 Believer vs. skeptic: Sophia is convinced ghosts exist. Bradley has questions. Lots of questions. So, grab a blanket (and maybe keep the lights on) because these stories might just make you question what you believe. Do you believe in ghosts? Is bringing an iced coffee to a job interview unprofessional? Apparently, the internet is divided. And now we're wondering whether the rules of workplace professionalism are changing—or whether we're just getting old. This week, we're talking about Gen Z vs. Millennials, workplace etiquette, job interviews, and all those unwritten professional rules that suddenly seem up for debate. Here's what we're getting into: The viral iced coffee job interview debate—and whether showing up with a drink is actually unprofessional Whether you should dress more formally for a job interview than you would for the actual job The difference between arriving at work at 9 AM and being ready to work at 9 AM Gen Z, Millennials, work-life balance, and the changing expectations around leaving work on time Whether keeping your camera off during a Zoom meeting is rude or completely reasonable Bradley's very serious complaint about Sophia refusing to use a chopping board Sophia's embarrassing email mistake involving Grayson's Halloween costume photos Grayson's latest developmental milestones and why Sophia is convinced they might be raising a genius Bradley's Peloton photoshoot, spray-tan struggles, and the surprising challenges of choosing an outfit Are we holding on to outdated workplace rules, or are some things simply a matter of professionalism? Remember when your parents could send you outside for hours with absolutely no way to contact you? Or when calling your crush meant calling their HOUSE and potentially having to speak to their mom first? 😂 This week, we're looking back at all the completely normal parts of our childhoods that feel slightly insane now — from smoking sections in restaurants and printed MapQuest directions to sharing one family computer, Blockbuster runs and waiting weeks to find out whether any of your vacation photos were actually good. Plus, before we get nostalgic: Sophia has some completely useless fun facts, we have some thoughts about the “best TV shows of the 21st century,” Bradley is ready for Christmas in September, and Sophia discovers the greatest parenting hack of all time: actually resting while your child naps. In this episode: The childhood things Grayson will probably never understand Smoking sections... right next to the non-smoking section Navigating with printed MapQuest directions When the entire family shared ONE computer Encyclopedias, libraries and how ridiculously hard school projects used to be AIM/MSN and calling someone's actual house phone Going outside for hours while your parents had no idea where you were Why every parent told us turning on the car light would basically kill the entire family The absolute JOY of a Friday night Blockbuster trip Disposable cameras and waiting weeks to see your photos And the very different childhoods of Sophia... and Bradley, who apparently spent his with a badger Connect with Us: 👉 Join us in Side Chat with the Roses for the aftershow, where we keep the conversation going and answer even more of your Dear Roses questions. http://relatablewiththeroses.substack.com/subscribe 👉 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradandsophia 👉 Submit future questions, topic suggestions, or respond to listener prompts: directtobradandsophia@gmail.com
How exactly do you explain the birds and the bees to a kid who was conceived through IVF? 😂 This week, we're talking about how we'll eventually explain to Grayson where he came from — and whether the usual “when a mummy and daddy love each other…” story needs a little rewriting when a test tube was involved. Then, Couples Court is back! You sent us your relationship disagreements, and we're putting on our completely unqualified judge hats to decide once and for all: who's right? In this episode: How do you explain IVF to a kid? The very different ways Sophia and Bradley learned about the birds and the bees Our potential IVF versions of “the stork brought you” A sweet listener interaction that made Sophia's week Should your mother-in-law have a key to your house? Who gets control of the bedroom thermostat? If only one spouse can fly business class… who gets the upgrade? Should a 9-year-old have to finish the sports season if they want to quit? And the big one: would you lend your brother-in-law £10,000 if you weren't sure you'd ever get it back? We need your rulings! This week, Sophia needs Bradley’s advice… on a few decisions she made YEARS ago. 😂 There are a couple of moments from Sophia’s past that she still thinks about — situations where she had to decide whether to speak up or keep her mouth shut. So she’s finally bringing them to Bradley to find out: did she handle them the right way… or did she completely mess up? Including one involving a close friend, a wedding, and something Sophia wishes she might have said nearly 20 years ago. But first, we catch up on life lately — and somehow end up debating the definition of “home-cooked,” discussing Bradley’s bathroom habits from his younger years, and sharing a Grayson story that nearly ended with Sophia brushing her teeth with something truly disgusting. In this episode: The debate over what “home-cooked” actually means Bradley reveals a VERY questionable story from his younger years 😂 Sophia’s unexpected Instagram interaction after giving a stranger a New York recommendation Our latest food allergy test drama Bradley’s current gym frustrations The Grayson incident that almost ended VERY badly for Sophia’s toothbrush A decision Sophia made nearly 20 years ago that she still thinks about Should you tell a friend if you’re worried they’re making a huge mistake? We revisit a real situation where Sophia and Bradley completely disagreed on whether to speak up And the bigger question: when is saying something the right thing to do… and when should you just mind your own business? We need your ruling: did Sophia make the right calls? We're coming to you from our first little family vacation at Center Parcs — where Grayson is living his best life with the ducks, Bradley has already accidentally woken a sleeping baby, and we're running on very little sleep. Then it's time for another round of Dear Roses , and the questions are SPICY. What do you do when you know your best friend is cheating... and her husband asks you directly? Should kids be forced to eat food they don't like or finish everything on their plate? And how do you tell your husband you don't actually want him to become a stay-at-home dad — even though your family can afford it? We're giving our completely unqualified opinions on relationships, parenting, marriage, money, and the situations where there really isn't an easy answer. In this episode: Our first family trip to Center Parcs Why Bradley decided to check on a peacefully sleeping Grayson — and immediately regretted it Grayson's current obsession with “quack quacks” 🦆 If your best friend is having an affair, do you owe her your loyalty? What happens when the person being cheated on asks you directly? Should kids have to eat foods they don't like? Should children be expected to clean their plates? The childhood dinner that landed Bradley in the hospital Can you be supportive of your husband becoming a stay-at-home dad while secretly wishing he'd keep working? Gender roles, attraction, money, and what “work” actually looks like inside a family And why so many relationship problems eventually come back to one annoyingly simple answer: you probably need to talk to your partner. Have a dilemma you want us to weigh in on? Send it in for the next Dear Roses — the spicier, the better. What actually counts as rude anymore? This week, we're debating social etiquette rules around money, weddings, parenting, airplanes, dinner parties, and more — and deciding which behaviors are genuinely rude versus things we've simply been taught not to do. Is it rude to ask someone how much they earn? Recline your airplane seat? Ask when someone is having kids? Decline being a bridesmaid because of the cost? Tell someone you don't like their baby name if they asked? Split the restaurant bill based on what everyone actually ordered? We're giving our ruling: RUDE or NOT RUDE — and there are definitely a few we don't agree on. But first, we're wrapping up our thoughts on Let's Marry Harry , including whether the marriage will last, whether prenups make sense, and whether reality dating shows are somehow becoming the new dating apps. In this episode: Our final thoughts on Let's Marry Harry Would we have signed a prenup before getting married? Is it rude to ask how much someone's house, engagement ring, or salary costs? Airplane etiquette: reclining seats and who gets the middle-seat armrests Is asking someone when they're going to have kids inappropriate? Houseguest etiquette: should everyone take their shoes off? Dinner-party etiquette: early or exactly on time? Wedding etiquette and the rising cost of being a bridesmaid Is it okay to decline being in someone's wedding because of money? Can you tell someone you hate their baby name if they asked? Correcting someone else's child Announcing a pregnancy at someone else's event Getting engaged at another person's wedding Restaurant etiquette: splitting the bill when everyone ordered differently And why telling someone they look tired might be ruder than you think Connect with Us: 👉 Join us in Side Chat with the Roses for the aftershow, where we keep the conversation going and answer even more of your Dear Roses questions. http://relatablewiththeroses.substack.com/subscribe 👉 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradandsophia 👉 Submit future questions, topic suggestions, or respond to listener prompts: directtobradandsophia@gmail.com
Are there things we’ve all collectively agreed are fun… even though nobody actually enjoys them? This week, we each made a secret list of things we’re convinced everyone pretends to like , then went through them one by one to decide: genuinely enjoyable, or are we all lying to ourselves? In this episode: Our thoughts on Let’s Marry Harry — and whether you can really find your spouse on reality TV Grayson finally makes some little friends 🥹 The diaper-free incident that ended with Sophia’s shirt being used to clean pee off the carpet Gender reveals: fun celebration or completely unnecessary? Why neither of us wants to talk to our Uber driver Sharing food at restaurants Houseguests and the 48-hour expiration date Bradley’s hatred of Valentine’s Day Children’s birthday parties when you don’t have children Bradley’s potentially cancellable opinion about kids’ theatre productions 😂 And why concerts may simply be too loud for Bradley now Connect with Us: 👉 Join us in Side Chat with the Roses for the aftershow, where we keep the conversation going and answer even more of your Dear Roses questions. http://relatablewiththeroses.substack.com/subscribe 👉 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradandsophia 👉 Submit future questions, topic suggestions, or respond to listener prompts: directtobradandsophia@gmail.com
This week, we’re getting a little ... judgmental. 😂 Inspired by Hugh Grant admitting that people with backpacks annoy him, we’re playing People We Irrationally Don’t Trust. We each came prepared with completely harmless things people do that, for absolutely no justifiable reason, make us immediately question them. Then we have to defend our irrational judgment and decide: is it valid… or are WE actually the problem? In this episode: Sophia gets emotional after a visit from one of her oldest friends Grayson desperately wants to make friends — and Sophia’s heart can’t handle the rejection The five-year-old who introduced Grayson to his “power bubble” at the pool 😳 Bradley’s very expensive cookware regret People who clap when the plane lands — valid or ridiculous? Can we trust someone who NEVER swears? What does ordering a steak well done say about you? Adults who drink milk with dinner… we have questions When does a voice note officially become a podcast? And one judgment we can unanimously agree on: bare feet on an airplane are NEVER okay. 😂 Connect with Us: 👉 Join us in Side Chat with the Roses for the aftershow, where we keep the conversation going and answer even more of your Dear Roses questions. http://relatablewiththeroses.substack.com/subscribe 👉 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradandsophia 👉 Submit future questions, topic suggestions, or respond to listener prompts: directtobradandsophia@gmail.com
Couples Court is BACK… but this time, we're keeping our own marriage out of it. After realizing that some of our most popular episodes were also the ones most likely to make us start arguing with each other again, we've decided to put your relationship arguments on trial instead. First up: Your ex-boyfriend is getting married. You've been friends for years and there's absolutely nothing romantic between you anymore — but you're invited to the wedding and your husband isn't. Do you go, or is attending an ex's wedding without your spouse disrespectful to your marriage? Then, a pregnant listener wants a $2,500 designer bag as a push present. They can technically afford it, but her husband thinks the money could be much better spent elsewhere. After nine months of pregnancy and childbirth, does she deserve the bag… or does she need to let this one go? And finally, we get perhaps our most important legal question yet: If you've had a celebrity hall pass for years and then suddenly have an actual opportunity to USE IT… does the hall pass still count? Along the way, we also get into Bradley's current stye situation (and Sophia's unfortunate history with eye patches), whether AI is coming for our jobs, our upcoming family trip, the absolute state of our garbage bins, and Grayson's newest obsession: waking up every morning demanding his "nana." Plus, we discover that Bradley doesn't know how to touch type, writes alarming amounts of things IN ALL CAPS, and apparently doesn't trust ChatGPT — so Sophia would just like it formally documented that she has always been nice to the robots. Have a Couples Court case of your own? Submit the argument you and your partner simply cannot agree on and we'll decide who's right. And make sure you're subscribed to our Substack, where we keep the conversation going between episodes. This week, our brains officially broke. It all started with one simple question Bradley asked during a Peloton class: How does a bird actually build a nest? And somehow... that sent us down a rabbit hole of life's greatest mysteries. Because once you start questioning the things you don't understand, it's impossible to stop. So this week we're questioning absolutely everything—from the Bermuda Triangle to text messages, AI, anesthesia and and even deja vu. But before that, we catch up on life, including Bradley's continued Harry Potter obsession, Sophia's flattering trip to the chiropractor, and the surprisingly controversial question of whether she actually looks like Cameron Diaz. In this episode: 📚 Bradley explains why rereading Harry Potter has become so meaningful after his stroke. 💪 Why taking a break from training was exactly what his body needed. 🎬 The Cameron Diaz comparison that Bradley refuses to agree with. ❤️ Why having a baby has changed the way we disagree, and what we're learning about parenting as a team. 🐦 How do birds actually build nests? ✈️ Is the Bermuda Triangle really a thing? 👶 How do babies know to say "mama"... and not "say" when we say, "Say mama!"? 🌊 How do engineers build underwater tunnels? 🍯 Who was the first person brave enough to steal honey from bees? 💉 How does anesthesia actually work? 📱 How do text messages travel across the world in seconds? 🤖 Have we already become too dependent on AI? 🧠 What is déjà vu? 🗺️ And... who made the very first map? As always, we'd love to hear from you: What's something you've accepted your whole life... but if someone asked you to explain how it works, you'd have absolutely no idea? This week, we're back with another Dear Roses episode, tackling some of your biggest relationship, money and family dilemmas. But before we dive into your questions... Sophia shares the bizarre story of being auctioned off at school (yes, really), Bradley opens up about some of the teachers who made boarding school miserable, Sophia realizes she got a kinda-sorta shoutout on Call Her Daddy, and the two debate whether mirrors, dressing room lighting or phone cameras are secretly lying to all of us. Then it's time for Dear Roses... This week's questions: ☕ Has tipping culture gone too far? When the payment screen asks for a tip after someone simply hands you a coffee... are you supposed to say yes? 💰 My husband doesn't know I make £10,000 a month on OnlyFans. What started as a small side hustle has become a major source of income—but after keeping it secret for over a year, is the bigger problem the OnlyFans... or the lie? 💍 Are cold feet before your wedding normal? After ten years together, one bride-to-be can't tell if she's simply nervous about getting married or if her instincts are trying to tell her something. ⏳ Should old arguments have an expiration date? When your partner keeps bringing up mistakes from years ago, are they refusing to let things go—or are they trying to resolve something that never actually got fixed? 💔 My husband banned my parents after his mum passed away. Grief, resentment and family dynamics collide after one listener's husband cuts off her parents, believing they didn't do enough to build a relationship with his late mother. As always, we don't have all the answers, but we do have plenty of opinions. Our parents swear we turned out just fine... but we're not so sure. 😂 This week starts with a not-so-fun update on Alfie after what should have been a routine trip to have his stitches removed (spoiler: it did not go according to plan). We also accidentally realize we've been podcasting together for an entire year—and somehow completely forgot our own anniversary. Then Sophia shares the conversation with her mom that left both of them laughing: after suggesting they skip IVF because it was "hard on your body," her mom innocently asks... "Why don't you just try naturally?" Which leads to a much bigger conversation: Are today's parents overcomplicating everything... or have we actually learned a thing or two? In this episode, we chat about: 🐶 Alfie's unexpected setback and why he's back in the cone 🎙️ One year of Relatable (and how we completely forgot our own anniversary) 😂 The IVF conversation that perfectly sums up the parenting generation gap 🚗 The car seats, sleep schedules, and baby gadgets our parents still can't believe we use 😴 Why one night with Grayson completely changed Sophia's mom's opinion on sleep training ❤️ A surprisingly emotional conversation about Sophia's dad, regret, and making the most of the people we love 🤔 What today's parenting trends will look ridiculous to Grayson when he has kids of his own Connect with Us: 👉 Join us in Side Chat with the Roses for the aftershow, where we keep the conversation going and answer even more of your Dear Roses questions. http://relatablewiththeroses.substack.com/subscribe 👉 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bradandsophia 👉 Submit future questions, topic suggestions, or respond to listener prompts: directtobradandsophia@gmail.com
This week is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster... We start with a long-awaited update on Alfie after his surgery (thankfully, it's good news ), celebrate one of Bradley's biggest career moments, and share the parenting milestone we've been dreaming about for an entire year. Spoiler alert: Grayson finally slept through the night. We also somehow end up debating whether Sophia actually deserved her high school soccer award, discussing why people have completely forgotten how to behave on public transport, and telling what might be the weirdest veterinary story we've ever shared. As always... things get a little unhinged. In this episode: An update on Alfie after surgery (and why we're feeling incredibly grateful) Bradley's feature in Men's Fitness magazine What we've learned from Bradley's stroke journey and why asking for help matters Grayson finally sleeps through the night after a year of sleepless nights Our honest thoughts on sleep training (and why we changed our minds) Bradley questions whether Sophia was ever actually good at soccer Why people playing TikToks out loud on public transport should be illegal (according to Bradley) The bizarre phone call with our vet that led to one of the strangest things Sophia has ever had to do Dear Roses: family vacations with the in-laws, baby names, and a few listener dilemmas If you've ever been through sleep training, had an awkward trip to the vet, or have a story that still makes your partner question your athletic ability... we'd love to hear from you. Taylor Swift got married... and naturally, we have thoughts. This week we're making our predictions about what we think one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the year looked like, reminiscing about our early days together, celebrating Grayson's first birthday, and introducing a new game to the podcast: Blind Ranking . The rules are simple: you have to rank five things before you know what's coming next. The result? Some very questionable decisions... and a lot of laughing. We also share our Good Week / Bad Week, including a surprisingly passionate debate over stolen deodorant, an unexpectedly wholesome moment with a stranger in London, and a more vulnerable conversation about our 14½-year-old dog, Alfie, as he prepares for surgery. In this episode: Our predictions for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding Why Bradley would rather stay home than go to a music festival Looking back on who we were when we first met Celebrating Grayson's first birthday with family The stranger who settled our "green shirt vs. yellow shirt" debate Bradley's case against sharing deodorant (yes, really) We try the viral Blind Ranking game for the first time A heartfelt update on Alfie and why this week has been emotional for our family If you've played Blind Ranking with your friends, send us your favorite category—we're already planning to bring it back. And if you're enjoying Relatable, we'd be so grateful if you'd leave us a rating or review. It helps more people find the show, and we genuinely read every one. This episode starts with public bathroom disasters... and somehow ends with one of the biggest conversations we've had as parents. This week, we're talking about everything from British pigeons masquerading as owls, to why we're finally trying sleep training, to the question we've been quietly avoiding: Should we have another baby? It's honest, emotional, funny, and completely unresolved—which, honestly, feels pretty relatable. In this episode: Why we're finally giving sleep training a try (and why it took us so long) Sophia's public bathroom nightmare involving Bradley's mum Bradley discovers his lifelong "spirit animal" might actually be... a pigeon The great British neighbor debate (and why Sophia completely ignored Bradley's advice) Bradley's latest biohacking obsession and why he's comparing wearable health trackers Whether only children really are different (Bradley has opinions...) The practical vs. emotional debate around having a second child Why we're genuinely not on the same page—and why that's okay As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts. If you've wrestled with the decision to have another child (or decided to stop at one), we'd love to know: How did you know? This week on Relatable , we kick things off by admitting we may have forgotten to explain the entire premise of Love Is Blind before interviewing Kelly Chase. So, naturally, we attempt to correct the record. Then, with the World Cup bringing more international attention to America, Sophia quizzes Bradley on some truly bizarre American things — from drive-thru funeral viewings and cheese in a can to deep-fried Coke, Bass Pro Shops, and whether the U.S. actually has a chance at winning the World Cup. We also chat about Bradley’s first Father’s Day, paternity leave, cold plunging, Sophia’s postpartum hair update, motorbike chaos, and what happened when we started reading Reddit comments about Bradley. In this episode: Our Love Is Blind correction World Cup fever in the Rose household The American things Bradley cannot believe are real Drive-thru funeral homes, deep-fried snacks, and Bass Pro Shops Bradley’s first Father’s Day Sophia’s six-month postpartum hair update Reddit’s thoughts on Bradley Rose Why loud motorbikes might be Bradley’s villain origin story As always, it’s chaotic, honest, and exactly the kind of conversation you’d normally save for the group chat. Love Is Blind fans (or the reality TV curious!), this one's for you. This week we're joined by Kelly Chase from Season 1 of Love Is Blind for an honest conversation about what really happened behind the scenes of one of Netflix's biggest dating shows. We talk about everything from the pods and producer influence to what it's actually like getting engaged to someone you've never seen before. Kelly also shares what wasn't shown on camera, what happened with Kenny after filming ended, and how the experience shaped her views on dating, love, rejection, and self-worth.
