The drum is the living heartbeat of the Earth: a primal, mysterious rhythm shared by every human and every creature on the planet. For ceremonial guide and Drum Doula Mia Luz, it is sacred shamanic medicine: a living relationship shaped by intention, reciprocity, Earth connection and deep respect for spirit. Earlier this year, I felt called to work with a drum of my own. What followed was a deep, physical and emotional experience of creation and connection. In this conversation, I ask Mia to help me understand what was happening beneath the practical steps of that process (and why the drum seemed to call me in the first place). Mia shares how her own journey led her on a path of healing from debilitating illness toward the heartbeat of Pachamama. She describes how ancestral wisdom and Indigenous teachings, along with an ever-deepening connection to the Original Mother of Drums (the sacred feminine creator), helped open her to the intuitive process she has developed to guide each drum's creation. We talk about the ceremony, breath, song and animal respect woven through her workshops; the sacred geometry of her distinctive lacing; and the seven-day gestation and awakening process each drum moves through. Through Mia's work, drum medicine becomes something we can experience as well as hear: carrying the spirit of the animal, the hands and intentions that brought the drum into being, and the ancient heartbeat of the Earth forward with every beat. Our bodies are constantly giving us information. But how much of it do we notice? Anna Zahn, founder of The Wild Aura and co-founder of Human Resonance Mechanics, has spent years exploring that question through energy work, neuroscience, experimentation and play. Her curiosity has taken her from intuitive healing into remote viewing and telekinesis, where something as simple as a spinning piece of foil became an unexpected way to observe focus, perception and her own internal state. Anna shares what happened when workshop participants tested their ability to sense hidden information, why our bodies may be picking up more than we consciously realize, and how trying too hard can actually interfere with what we're attempting to perceive. Along the way, she offers practical ways to become a better observer of your own signals, strengthen your intuitive awareness and explore your abilities with less pressure and more curiosity. Debashree Turel spent decades designing cities before an unexpected stream of sacred symbols and geometric drawings began leading her toward an entirely different kind of architecture. Her journey eventually brought her to the Master Ascension Light Codes, New Earth gridwork and a collaboration with Kelly Kolodney that has taken them to sacred sites around the world. Debashree shares how these intricate artworks became living repositories of energetic information, and the remarkable synchronicities that followed (including carrying a crystal egg from Everest to the Arctic and an unexpected encounter with Matías De Stefano). We also explore the ancient Vedic wisdom underlying her spiritual practice and why she sees even our relationship with AI through the lens of balance rather than separation. Debashree's journey suggests that the worlds we call ancient, modern, physical and energetic may not be separate worlds at all, but different expressions of the very same architecture. The Becoming Spiritual community asked. Spirit answered. In this special live channeling session, our guest Crystal Roberts channels answers to questions submitted by listeners, sharing guidance on the challenges, uncertainties, and spiritual themes many of us are experiencing right now. From navigating intense collective energies and finding the right spiritual community to supporting intuitive children, daily grounding practices, and remembering our own inner wisdom, a wide range of questions are explored, but one message quietly weaves through them all: the answers we seek often become clearer when we stop rushing long enough to listen. Whether one message speaks directly to where you are today or another finds you exactly when you need it, this is a conversation to return to, because sometimes the guidance we're searching for arrives through someone else's question. Simple daily rituals that create profound shifts: From nature and gratitude to intention-setting and energetic cleansing, the conversation focuses on accessible practices rather than complicated spiritual techniques. Supporting spiritually aware children: Practical guidance for nurturing children's intuition with curiosity instead of fear or dismissal. What spirit says about the intense energies many people are experiencing: Why so many people feel emotionally and physically stretched, and how to respond with greater compassion for ourselves. Discernment as a spiritual practice: Listening to your own inner knowing and why this is so important right now. What if healthcare focused less on managing symptoms and more on understanding why we're unwell in the first place? Dr. Rachael Clark believes that's where the future of medicine is headed. After years in conventional medicine, her own experience with chronic illness led her to question everything she thought she knew about healing, and inspired a more holistic approach that looks beyond diagnosis to the root cause of disease. Together, we explore what happens when curiosity about the body's own signals becomes a core component of healthcare. From the Medical Medium protocols for detoxing heavy metals and environmental toxins to the role of energy healing in being healthy and whole, this conversation asks how conventional and holistic approaches might work together, and why partnering with the body can completely transform the way we think about healing. You may come away seeing your body a little differently...not as something that's working against you, but as something that's been trying to help you heal all along. What comes to mind when you hear the word witch? For many of us, it's an image shaped by folklore, popular culture and centuries of misunderstanding. But behind those stories is a living spiritual tradition rooted in nature, ritual, community and personal sovereignty. In this conversation, Heather sits down with Wiccan elder Arianna Zane, who was raised in the Wiccan religion, to explore what Wicca actually is and how it has evolved into the modern world. Together they unpack the history of Wicca, the Wheel of the Year, covens, spellwork and seasonal rituals, while exploring why many practices associated with witchcraft may not be as unfamiliar as they first appear. Rather than asking listeners to adopt a new belief system, this conversation offers a thoughtful reframe of one of today's most misunderstood spiritual traditions. Along the way, it invites us to reconsider the role of ritual, intention, community and our relationship with the natural world through a different lens. About Arianna Arianna is a Wiccan Elder raised in the Wiccan religion, and currently educates fellow magic workers in their personal practices. What happens when you achieve everything you thought would make you happy, only to discover something is still missing? In this episode, Heather sits down with Laurice Lambert, founder and CEO of Aligned Health Law, to explore the gap that can exist between external success and internal fulfillment. After building a highly successful legal career and reaching many of the milestones she had spent years pursuing, Laurice found herself confronting a question she couldn't ignore: Is this really it? Together, they discuss the role intuition played in some of the biggest decisions of her life, the challenges of leaving familiar paths behind, the lessons that emerged through uncertainty and loss, and how community, self-awareness, and spiritual growth helped her create a life and business that feels deeply aligned with her values. Sarah Breskman Cosme is a master hypnotist, best-selling author, and one of the most recognized voices in the world of hypnosis, past life regression, and higher consciousness. In this conversation, Sarah shares what hypnosis really is and how it can help us access (and even heal) deeper parts of ourselves that often remain hidden beneath the noise of everyday life. Together, Heather and Sarah explore the connection between hypnosis, self-healing, intuition, and the powerful expanse of human potential. Sarah shares her own journey into this work, explains how she researches consciousness through hypnosis, and offers insights into why so many people are being called to look within rather than outside themselves for answers at this important time in human history. Whether you're curious about hypnosis, exploring your spiritual path, or looking for new ways to navigate an increasingly complex world, this conversation is an invitation to reconnect with your own inner wisdom and remember the power that has always existed within you. In this special episode of Becoming Spiritual, Heather is joined by retreat co-host Crystal Roberts and two attendees, Jenne and Bridget, for a heartfelt reflection on the Ley Lines of Your Spirit retreat. Rather than a formal recap, this conversation offers an intimate glimpse into what unfolded when a group of like-hearted souls came together in a safe, supportive space for healing, connection, and spiritual exploration. Together, they reflect on the power of community, the experience of returning to everyday life after a deeply held retreat container, and the unexpected gifts that emerged. Jenne shares how the retreat activated a new sense of purpose and spiritual ability, while Bridget reflects on feeling as though she had “woken up” after years of moving through life half-asleep. This episode is an invitation to remember the healing that becomes possible when we are witnessed, supported, and surrounded by people who can meet us without judgment. There are ways of knowing that don’t come through logic alone. Intuition, dreams, synchronicity, energy, and the quiet inner signals many of us have been taught to dismiss can all become pathways back to ourselves. In this episode, Heather sits down with Leslie Wolf Baker to explore shamanism through a grounded, accessible lens. Leslie describes shamanism as “walking between two worlds” - the practical world we live in each day and the deeper unseen world of intuition, energy, dreams, and spirit. Together, they explore altered states of consciousness, the healing potential of theta brain states, dream symbolism, spirit guides, power animals, and the role of gratitude in daily life. Leslie also shares her personal path from law librarian to psychotherapist and shamanic practitioner, and how grief became a doorway into deeper remembering. If you’ve ever sensed there is more to life than what can be measured, this conversation offers a thoughtful invitation to trust your own inner knowing and reconnect with the wisdom already within you. Sometimes the path we think we’re meant to follow quietly shifts, and something deeper begins to emerge. In this episode, Heather is joined by Satya Scainetti, founder of Satya Jewelry, whose journey from social work to spiritual entrepreneurship unfolded through intuition and a powerful inner calling. Satya shares how moments of uncertainty (including witnessing 9/11) led her toward meditation, yoga, and ultimately a dream that inspired her to create jewelry rooted in intention, healing, and truth. What began as a creative expression evolved into a purpose-led business, one that not only inspires personal growth, but also gives back to children around the world through the Satya Foundation. This conversation explores trusting intuitive guidance, creating with intention, and designing a life that blends creativity, purpose, and service. Meaningful work doesn’t always follow a straight line. But when we follow what feels true, we often find ways to both express ourselves and make an impact beyond what we imagined. This special anniversary episode marks one year of the Becoming Spiritual podcast, and for Heather, a powerful moment to celebrate one of the most foundational practices woven through every conversation: gratitude. In this solo reflection, Heather shares how gratitude has shaped her life over the past year as a daily practice that supports mental clarity, emotional resilience, and a deeper connection to self. She explores both the science and the lived experience of gratitude, including how it can shift perspective, regulate the nervous system, rewire the brain and help move through difficult moments with greater steadiness. If you’re navigating uncertainty, seeking more presence, or simply wanting to feel more connected to your life as it is, this episode offers simple, grounded ways to begin or deepen your own gratitude practice, elevate your vibration and invite more peace and joy into your life. What if healing isn’t something we need to seek externally, but something we already carry within us? In this episode, Heather is joined by Dr. Eric Lake, an osteopathic physician who bridges traditional medicine with energetic and spiritual healing. Together, they explore the body as an intelligent, interconnected system, where structure, emotion, belief, and energy all play a role in how we experience health. Dr. Lake shares his journey from conventional sports medicine into a more holistic, intuitive approach to healing, including the pivotal life (and near-death) experiences that reshaped his understanding of the body and its capacity to restore itself. This conversation invites listeners to reconsider what healing really means. From the role of belief and nervous system regulation to the subtle ways energy flows through the body, this episode offers a grounded yet expansive perspective on wellness that reminds us that healing starts with us, and may be far more accessible than we’ve been taught to believe. About Dr. Eric Lake Dr. Eric Lake, DO, is an osteopathic physician who blends traditional medical training with holistic and energy-based approaches to healing. What happens when the life you carefully built no longer feels aligned? In this deeply reflective conversation, Heather sits down with writer, teacher, and consciousness scholar Dr. Rima Bonario to explore the profound spiritual territory of endings. Rima shares her personal experience of stepping away from a thriving body of work, navigating the end of a long-term relationship, and entering what she describes as “the fertile void”: a space where identity, certainty, and familiar structures begin to dissolve. Together they explore how listening to the wisdom of the body can guide us through major life transitions, why endings are an essential part of every cycle of growth, and how our culture often resists the natural rhythms of creation and dissolution. Rather than rushing to rebuild, Rima invites us to stay present with uncertainty and trust the deeper intelligence unfolding beneath it. If you’ve ever felt yourself standing between chapters, unsure of what comes next, this conversation offers reassurance, perspective, and a powerful reminder that sometimes the most important transformation happens in the quiet space where something has ended, but the next beginning has not yet appeared. Power. It’s a word that can feel charged, heavy, even triggering. We’re taught from a young age that power lives outside of us, in institutions, in titles, in money, in authority figures. But what if that definition is incomplete? What if the discomfort we feel around power is actually an invitation to redefine it? In this episode, Heather sits down with Emily Frieze-Kemeny to explore how power shapes our world (from corporate systems to family dynamics) and how it quietly shapes us. Together, they unpack why traditional models of “power over” create isolation, fear, and disconnection, and how those patterns show up not just in leadership, but in our own nervous systems. This conversation bridges neuroscience and spirituality, offering a deeper understanding of why we feel controlled at times, and how we begin reclaiming our sovereignty. If you’ve been feeling the cracks in old systems… if you’ve been questioning authority, your career, or your place in the world… this conversation is an invitation to remember that true power is presence. What really happens at a spiritual retreat? In this special episode, Crystal Roberts and I sit down to talk about the transformative power of spiritual retreats: why we feel so called to them, what actually happens in these containers, and why community is such a vital part of healing and personal growth. We share our own experiences attending and hosting retreats, the magic that unfolds when like-minded souls come together, and how retreats create space for vulnerability, integration, deep connection, and unexpected transformation. We talk about the energy of the land, the importance of being present in nature, and why sometimes the most powerful shifts happen in between the scheduled sessions... around the fire, in the kitchen at midnight, or during quiet moments by the water. We also share details about our upcoming retreat in Arkansas (held during Beltane and under the full moon) and the ceremonies, channeling, cacao, reiki, water rituals, and spacious integration time we’ve intentionally woven into the experience. Whether you’re considering joining us, curious about what really happens at a spiritual retreat, or simply feeling called to deeper community in your life, this episode is an invitation to explore what becomes possible when we gather with open hearts. x Heather JOIN US ON RETREAT IN MAY If you’ve been craving deeper connection beyond the podcast, Heather and Crystal are excited to welcome you to their Ley Lines of Your Spirit Retreat in Arkansas on May 1-3. In Part Two of my conversation with Crystal Roberts, we move fully into her intuitive and channeled work as she shares a message for the collective as we move into 2026. This episode can be listened to on its own, but it also builds beautifully on Crystal’s personal story from Part One. Here, Crystal opens a channeled space and offers guidance around the year ahead, including how to stay grounded, discerning, and connected as both personal and collective shifts continue to unfold. And as promised, we have a very special announcement to share with the Becoming Spiritual community... 2026 IN-PERSON RETREAT If you’ve been craving deeper connection beyond the podcast, Heather is co-hosting her first Becoming Spiritual retreat this May at a beautiful site in Arkansas with this episode's guest, Crystal. To learn more about this special event, and be the first to know when details and registration are released, you can register your interest via this link: https://becomingspiritualpodcast.podbean.com/p/retreats/ We hope that you enjoy this transmission from spirit and I thank Crystal for her generosity in sharing this message with the Becoming Spiritual community. x Heather Connect with Crystal Website: www.WatermelonWellness.com (coming soon) Instagram: @WatermelonWellness_ Connect with Heather Visit the Becoming Spiritual website Follow us on Instagram @becomingspiritualpodcast Follow us on Facebook @becomingspiritualpodcast Subscribe on Youtube @becomingspiritualpodcast If this episode resonated with you, we’d love for you to follow, rate, or share the show. In this episode, I’m joined by Crystal Roberts for Part 1 of a special two-part conversation exploring holistic healing, personal transformation and what it really means to trust the path as it unfolds. Crystal is a registered nurse with a deep respect for both science and spirituality, and a belief that true healing often lives at the intersection of many modalities. Alongside her nursing background, Crystal works intuitively with energy, sound, and Spirit to support deep, grounded healing. In Part 1, we focus on Crystal’s personal journey, from working in traditional healthcare to stepping into a more intuitive and holistic role. She also shares how the heartbreak of divorce became a powerful catalyst for self-discovery, inner strength, and ultimately, living more fully in alignment with her purpose. We talk about identity shifts, navigating uncertainty, and how life’s hardest experiences can open the door to profound healing when we allow them to shape us rather than shut us down. And while today’s episode centers on Crystal’s story, this is just the beginning. In Part 2, Crystal joins me for a channeled conversation, offering guidance for the collective and insight into the energies ahead... coming next week as a special extra episode. x Heather Episode Resources Book: A Hypnotist's Journey to Avalon by Sarah Bresman Cosme Connect with Crystal Website: www.WatermelonWellness.com (coming soon) Instagram: @WatermelonWellness_ Connect with Heather Visit the Becoming Spiritual website Follow us on Instagram @becomingspiritualpodcast Follow us on Facebook @becomingspiritualpodcast Subscribe on Youtube @becomingspiritualpodcast If this episode resonated with you, we’d love for you to follow, rate, or share the show.
