Colette had a personal trainer, meal plans and years of dieting, and still couldn’t change how she ate. Then Slimpod shifted her habits, and she lost four stone, even through chemotherapy. Colette knew what she was supposed to do. Her personal trainer gave her meal preparation plans and food diaries. Her doctor told her to lose weight. She still couldn’t do it. That’s the bit most diets miss. Knowing what to eat isn’t the same as feeling like doing it. In this episode, Colette tells me what changed after she started Slimpod, the nine-minute audio programme designed to work on the automatic patterns behind everyday food choices. She noticed the difference the very next day, when she became far more aware of the choices she was making. Over time, the change showed up in how she ate, shopped, cooked and moved, and in the four stone she lost in under a year. We talk about: Why a personal trainer, food diaries and meal plans weren’t enough, and what shifted when the habits changed Noticing her choices change after just one night of listening From a “convenience food queen” who could eat 12 packs of Wotsits in one go to someone who can’t bear the smell of them now Why comfort foods stopped satisfying her How she went from ready meals to batch cooking, without feeling deprived Choosing a quick Thai green curry over a takeaway, and why it felt natural rather than like willpower Moving more, and the support of the Slimpod community Why fear of failure is one of the biggest psychological leftovers from dieting. In my survey of 4,000 former dieters, it came up again and again. Staying on track through chemotherapy, and what Colette credits for keeping her immunity strong Colette’s story is in the “Breaking Through Fear” section of my new book, The Weight’s Over: Take Back Control. I’m Sandra Roycroft-Davis, creator of Slimpod and a behavioural change specialist for over 15 years. I wanted Colette’s story in the book because it shows what happens when healthier choices become easier and more instinctive, even in the hardest of circumstances. 🎧 Try Slimpod FREE for 10 days: https://thinkingslimmer.com/gold-free... Retired GP Diane Meek has lost four stone after years on a weight loss plateau. She talks to Sandra Roycroft-Davis about Slimpod, Mounjaro, low carb and why belief mattered most. Diane Meek is a retired GP. She knows the medicine inside out, and for years her weight still wouldn’t budge. In this episode, Diane tells me what finally started to shift things for her, and why she says the biggest change of all was belief in herself, not food. We talk about: Why a long weight loss plateau can make you wonder, “Am I one of the people it doesn’t work for?” How bowel surgery, antibiotics and other health problems can get in the way What changed when Diane added Mounjaro, and how the jab affected food noise and appetite Why cutting back on staple carbs (bread, pasta, rice and potatoes) made such a difference for her Her suspected insulin resistance, and why she’s interested in fat adaptation and low carb How she feels about coming off the jab and keeping the weight off I’m Sandra Roycroft-Davis, creator of Slimpod and a behavioural change specialist for over 15 years. I wanted to share Diane’s story because there isn’t one answer to weight loss. Sometimes it takes experimenting, being open-minded and knowing your own body well enough to work out what moves things for you. Diane mentions my earlier podcast episode with the metabolic doctors, which goes into detail on staple carbs and insulin. Losing weight is one thing. Keeping it off is where most people come unstuck. Ava joined Slimpod in 2020 after decades of Weight Watchers, Slimming World and "I'll start on Monday". Six years on, she's still at her goal weight. In this catch-up, we talk about what's changed. Ava was the person who ate dessert before the meal, who binged all weekend and went "very good" from Monday to Thursday. She was sceptical about listening to something nine minutes a day and thought, "How can that work?" But with a 10-day free trial, she figured there was nothing to lose. What changed wasn't a new set of rules. Her thinking around food shifted, sweets and chocolate gradually gave way to fruit, and she stopped feeling controlled by sugar. In this episode we talk about: Why the Monday-start cycle keeps so many people stuck Why weight maintenance is a different challenge from weight loss How Ava eats now, including her "graze bowl", without feeling like she's on a permanent diet Why enjoying your food and your lifestyle makes maintenance easier What diet fatigue feels like after years of trying everything I'm Sandra Roycroft-Davis, behavioural change specialist and creator of Slimpod. I've spent more than 15 years helping people change the automatic habits behind everyday food choices, because I want people to keep the weight off in a fairly effortless way. Ava is a perfect example of why. 🎧 Try Slimpod FREE for 10 days: https://thinkingslimmer.com/gold-free... 📘 Download my FREE weight loss ebook: https://thinkingslimmer.com/get-free-... #WeightMaintenance #SugarCravings #Slimpod #YoYoDieting
Lose it. Put it back on. Start again. Sound familiar? Johanna had done that more times than she can count. A year ago she found Slimpod. Today she's gone from a size 16 to a 10-12, and she's kept it off. Here's the interesting bit. Johanna already knew what to eat. Most of us do. What changed was what felt natural to do. She stopped planning the next meal while eating the current one, the sweets and crisps stopped catching her eye, and "I've blown it" became "I'll start fresh tomorrow." That's the bit most diets miss. They tell you what to do. Slimpod's nine-minute audio is designed to help change what you instinctively want to do, by working on the automatic patterns behind everyday choices. Over time, many people find healthier choices get easier and more natural, and that's what makes them stick. In this conversation, we talk about: What food noise actually feels like, and what happened when it went quiet The supermarket moment after day one Why being kind to yourself gets you further than beating yourself up Heavy weights, dog walks and why consistency beats going all out The goal map and Johanna's three daily wins Want to see what it could do for you? What if sustainable weight loss had less to do with following the perfect diet and more to do with changing the way you think about food? In this episode, we hear an incredibly honest Slimpod success story from a member who lost around 20kg over the course of a year without following a restrictive diet. When she joined Slimpod, she was at her heaviest weight and dealing with an incredibly stressful period of life as a full-time carer for her son. She was also struggling with lymphedema and had been unable to exercise. Food had gradually become a way of rewarding and comforting herself. She didn't think of herself as an emotional eater until Slimpod helped her recognise the everyday ways emotional eating had become part of her life. Then something started to change. Rather than constantly thinking about food, calories and what she "shouldn't" eat, she began making different choices almost automatically. Portions became smaller, snacking became less frequent, and she found herself walking away from food she didn't really want without feeling deprived. Most importantly, she learned that weight loss doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. When life changed again, she didn't give up, she adapted. She found new ways to exercise, continued prioritising her health and learned to say no to food when she genuinely didn't want it. This is a powerful conversation about emotional eating, sustainable weight loss, mindset, self-care, and changing your relationship with food rather than going on another diet. How emotional eating can show up in everyday life, not just during obvious moments of crisis Why food can become a reward when you're stressed, overwhelmed, or caring for others How changing your mindset can naturally change your food choices Why sustainable weight loss doesn't require perfection How to keep going when life throws unexpected challenges at you The importance of prioritising yourself and your own health How to overcome FOMO around food and become comfortable saying "no" Why smaller portions and more mindful choices can become effortless How exercise became something to enjoy rather than another all-or-nothing challenge Why creating lasting change is about learning to adapt rather than starting again every Monday One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is that sustainable weight loss isn't about being on a diet forever. It's about developing a different relationship with food and building habits that can fit around real life. If you've ever felt that diets work for a while but aren't something you can realistically maintain, this episode is a reminder that lasting change can happen when you stop trying to be perfect and start changing the way you think.
In this uplifting episode, Sandra Roycroft-Davis chats with Lydia, who has lost an incredible 7.5 stone over two and a half years. Lydia had lost some weight using slimming clubs but felt stuck and knew her head just wasn't in gear. Adding Slimpod gave her the brain reset she needed, and using the Fit Pod completely transformed her relationship with exercise. Lydia shares how the motivation to move went from hit-and-miss to waking up excited to exercise every single day. She talks about shrinking her portions without deprivation, watching food guilt melt away, and learning to see food as nourishment rather than comfort. As an emotional eater who once felt like "the big mum at the gates," she made some brave life changes, chose herself, and hasn't looked back. In this episode: Why adding Slimpod gave her the mindset shift she needed How the Fit Pod turned exercise into something she loves Seeing food as nourishment, not comfort Choosing herself and making brave life changes Why Slimpod is your flexible friend that works alongside anything Contact us: Email: Instagram: @Sandraroycroftdavis Website: www.thinkingslimmer.com Hit subscribe for more inspiring real-life transformations Leave a review or share this with someone; sharing helps others experience life-changing results!
In this powerful episode, Sandra Roycroft-Davis talks with Maria, who found Slimpod after her second heart attack and a type 2 diabetes diagnosis on the very same day. After a lifetime of dieting since the age of 11, Maria had tried everything, but nothing lasted. With Slimpod, the weight started coming off almost straight away, and nearly six years on, she's kept it off, something she'd never managed for more than three months before. Maria shares how relaxing into the process and changing her thinking, rather than following rules, made all the difference. She talks about finding real freedom with food, eating the things she loves without guilt, and why she threw her scales out for good. At 67, she says she's never been happier, and she credits Slimpod with quite literally saving her life. If you've felt stuck on the diet rollercoaster for years, Maria's story is honest, uplifting, and full of hope. In this episode: Finding Slimpod after two heart attacks and a diabetes diagnosis Why changing her mindset mattered more than any diet Why she ditched the scales for good Maria's tip: forget everything you've been told about dieting, and relax into it Please note, Maria shares her own personal experience here. In this deeply honest episode, Sandra Roycroft-Davis talks with Rebecca, who turned to weight loss injections after back surgery and years of emotional eating, only to find the weight returned the moment she stopped. Rebecca opens up about a relationship with food that goes right back to childhood, secret eating, and using food for comfort through both the hard times and the happy ones. After trying Mounjaro and Wegovy, Rebecca discovered Slimpod, came off the injections a few weeks in, and finally started feeling better in herself. She shares how Slimpod is helping her understand her emotional eating rather than just silencing her appetite, why she's given up the scales, and how she's found her people in our community. In this episode: Why the weight returned after coming off the injections The roots of emotional eating and secret eating How Slimpod addresses the "why" behind the eating Letting go of the scales as a trigger Feeling fitter, happier and more in control Rebecca's advice for anyone thinking about the jabs Please remember, weight loss medication has its place when it's medically needed, and any decision about starting or stopping it should always be made with your doctor. What if your cravings could just fade away, no willpower required? In this episode, Sandra Roycroft-Davis chats with Sharon, who's gone from a size 20 to a size 12 in her first year with Slimpod. A former self-confessed "chocoholic," Sharon used to have a bar of chocolate every night. Within days of starting, that pull faded, and there's now a box of chocolates sitting untouched in her cupboard since Christmas! Sharon shares how her "diet head" disappeared, why she enjoys a slice of cake without guilt, and how she finally feels comfortable in her own body after 20 years of yo-yo dieting. She also opens up about why she chose Slimpod over weight-loss injections, and why she's so glad she did. In this episode: Why Sharon's lifelong sugar cravings faded away What "food noise" and "diet head" really feel like Enjoying treats without guilt or deprivation Why she chose Slimpod over injections Her top tip: persevere and trust the process Contact us: Email: customerservices@thinkingslimmer.com Instagram: @Sandraroycroftdavis Website: www.thinkingslimmer.com Hit subscribe for more inspiring real-life transformations Leave a review or share this with someone; sharing helps others experience life-changing results!
What if you could lose weight, keep it off, and finally quieten the constant food noise in your head, all without dieting? In this episode, Sandra Roycroft-Davis chats with Lisa, who went from a size 16 to a size 8 in around six months with Slimpod, and has kept it off for a year and a half without even trying. After 20 years of yo-yo dieting, Lisa knew every group, every points system and every up-and-down emotion that comes with the scales. She'd celebrate a loss with a bar of chocolate and commiserate a gain with one too, and found herself sneaking downstairs in the night for Kit Kats. Then she found Slimpod, threw her scales out on day one, picked up the ribbon method instead, and everything began to change. In this warm, honest conversation, Lisa shares how her food noise faded within the first 12 weeks, why chocolate stopped being the enemy, how she went from being terrified of exercise to running three times a week, and how healthy eating became effortless rather than a daily battle. If you've ever felt trapped on the diet rollercoaster, Lisa's story is proof there's a kinder, more lasting way. What you'll learn in this episode: Why dieting keeps you stuck on an emotional rollercoaster, and what to do instead. What "food noise" really is and how it can quieten on its own. Why ditching the scales and using the ribbon method can transform your progress. How your relationship with food changes from the inside out. Why exercise becomes something you want to do, not something you dread. Lisa's biggest tip for anyone who feels like they're wobbling.
