Paloma Faith has had plenty of moments in her life when she's felt mad, sad or bad - or been told that's what she's being. But do these words mean the same for everyone? What does it mean if someone says you're mad: that you're angry? Unstable? Insane? Or perhaps just different... Could those words be liberating, therapeutic or even transformational? To find out more, Paloma invites an array of actors, comedians, musicians and thinkers into her home to reflect on times where they've felt mad, sad, bad - and even glad - what they've understood and learnt from these experiences too. This podcast takes us into Paloma's world, with friends and family popping in occasionally - come for the chaos; stay for the conversation! New Episodes every Tuesday Hosted on Acast. Katherine Ryan joins me to talk about whether she regrets any of her jokes, being compared to other comedians and where she stands on roast comedy. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! 🎃👻🖤 It’s my favourite time of the year and for our Halloween special, I’ve been joined by a REAL treat… Mr Mind Control himself, Derren Brown! You might know Derren for predicting the lottery or convincing someone they’d woken up in an apocalypse. I knew him as the man I thought had watched my Royal Variety performance in complete confusion. Turns out he actually enjoyed it, so we’re off to a good start! We talk about the things we bury and why they hold so much power, whether we can ever really know someone, and what scares a man who’s made a career out of messing with our minds. Derren also opens up about sexuality, religion and why a meaningful life needs a little sadness. And OF COURSE, it wouldn’t be a Halloween special without a few tricks and treats of our own… anyone for a zombie hunt? Pam & Shanthi join me to talk about watching their children, Romesh and me, face public scrutiny, raising us as single parents and why they never warned us parenting was so difficult! People keep telling me Grace Campbell reminds them of me, which I’m taking as a HUGE compliment! She’s a North London legend, I’m an East London legend, so it was about time we met. I had a feeling we’d have plenty to talk about… Grace has made a career out of saying the things people are too embarrassed to say out loud, so naturally we got straight into it! We talk about unusual childhoods, being a politician’s daughter without the perks, and why sometimes the best thing you can do is turn your phone off and disappear for a bit. She also opens up about her abortion, the guilt of letting go and her experience of being stalked. An honest conversation about shame, relationships and finding your voice, with plenty of laughter along the way. PLUS, we’ve booked a dog psychic! Anita reads both our dogs, and you’ll be shocked by what they have to say. The amazing Grace Campbell, some very outspoken pets and absolutely no chance of a quiet afternoon. We’ve shared so many unforgettable conversations on Mad, Sad & Bad, and I’m looking back at some of my favourite moments from the podcast. This time, I’m revisiting a conversation with the brilliant Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Leigh-Anne opens up about her love-hate relationship with social media, dealing with trolling and navigating life in the spotlight. We also talk about balancing motherhood to twins with wanting to give your career 100%, and the pressure of trying to do it all. Watch the full episode HERE . You might know telly LEGEND Davina McCall from Big Brother, but I grew up working out to her fitness DVDs in my student flat, lifting tins of baked beans 😂 This conversation had EVERYTHING! We got into her wild clubbing days and then sobriety to losing her sister Caroline, learning to start over and finding joy through life’s toughest moments. Davina opens up about an incredibly challenging couple of years, from discovering a brain tumour and undergoing surgery to then being diagnosed with breast cancer. We talk about grief, self-compassion and the importance of checking your boobs (or breast tissue!), going to your mammograms and speaking up about your health. PLUS, my mum joins us to share her own experience of breast cancer. It’s an emotional one, but there’s plenty of laughter, love and a little bit of disco along the way. A really special episode with an important message. ❤️ Enjoy!!!! #DAVINAMCCALL #PALOMAFAITH #MADSADBAD This episode is part of Going Big for Boobs, a collaboration between Paloma Faith, JamPot Productions, Candy Kittens and breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! Welcome back to Mad, Sad and Bad!!!! To kick off the new series I have superstar Letitia Wright joining me in my living room! I’ve watched Letitia Wright since her early days on Top Boy . She’s gone on to become an iconic global star as Shuri in Black Panther , built her own production company and stepped behind the camera as a director. We talk about the parts of success people don’t always see: what it feels like to look back and be proud, the courage it takes to face your fears, and the importance of keeping some things private. Letitia also opened up to me about grief, faith and the industry she works in. And, OF COURSE, we put her popcorn knowledge to the test?! Enjoy and get ready for an AMAZING series 4! 💋 Producer: Ross Whyatt Assistant Producers: Lydia Brownell and Jonny Burke Senior Videographer: Grisha Nikolsky Videographer: Harry Sawkins Audio Engineer: Miles Wheway Senior Social Media Manager: Laura Coughlan Production Manager: Archan Mohille Production Coordinator: James Cox Head of Content: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Hosted on Acast. Mad, Sad & Bad IS BACK for a new series on Tuesday 6th October, featuring some unbelievably brilliant guests. The goddess that is Letitia Wright discusses faith and resilience. Davina McCall's discussion had us in tears and fits of laughter. And the outrageous Grace Campbell finds out her dog doesn't like it when she ****s. COMING TUESDAY 6th OCTOBER 2026 #PALOMAFAITH #MADSADBAD Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Acting royalty Kristin Scott Thomas joins me for the final episode of Season 3!! She’s had some absolutely iconic roles on screen, like in Fiona in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Katharine Clifton in The English Patient and THAT legendary Fleabag monologue. There aren’t many people that I’d re-create my living room in a studio for (while heavily pregnant), but I would do basically ANYTHING for Kristin! 💅 We spoke about the guilt of motherhood, being labelled as a ‘cold’ person in the press and feeling like a failure when a marriage breaks down. My amazing friend (and super-talented hairstylist) Louis also joined us to talk about empowerment and the power of positivity. You can find him at @louisbyrneiciaiw. Kristin is an absolute icon; so cool, so glamorous and SO talented - I’m really grateful to her for joining me. And thank YOU for joining me throughout this series! I’ve spoken to so many AMAZING guests, so make sure you go back and check out any episodes you might have missed! — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Jake Ji and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast. Jeff Goldblum is my idol!! I’ve spent my whole life watching him on screen so, despite being HEAVILY pregnant, there was no way I was missing out on the opportunity to have him on the podcast. As well as being a mega-successful actor (and Hollywood legend), he’s also an insanely talented jazz musician. There’s a reason he’s so many people’s dream dinner guest… The first rule of Jeff Goldblum-ism is to be yourself and he is perfectly unfiltered. We spoke about everything from working with Wes Anderson to dealing with loss… and how his therapist ended up officiating his wedding! He also revealed what he is BAD at (surely Jeff Goldblum isn’t bad at anything?!) and even serenaded us with some of his beautiful jazz tones. Jeff’s love for life is absolutely infectious and he was such a dream to have on the podcast. His new album, with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, ‘Night Blooms’ is out on 5th June 2026. This week we’re taking a break from normal programming to collaborate with Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams, as Paloma joins Sarel to fantasise about how she would spend a £200,000,000 Euromillions jackpot!! From a glass cube house perched on her rooftop, surrounded by rainbow mist and accessed by a spiral staircase (with a slide exit, obviously), to buying up her entire street so friends, family… and her hairdresser can all move in next door. And if that wasn’t enough, she’s getting a time machine too , for evenings spent with Marilyn Monroe, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. I’m joined by the man with the most extraordinary hair in the UK, which can only really mean one thing...Sam Ryder. He stole all of our hearts at the Eurovision Song contest with his hit ‘Spaceman’, as well as becoming a TikTok sensation and even landing the role of Jesus in the West End. For someone who has achieved so much, he is probably the most humble person I’ve ever met - and I’m lucky to call him a true friend after filming our show ‘Your Song’ together last year. We covered a lot!! From why he stopped drinking alcohol, to his impressive THREE near-death experiences (protect Sam at all costs), to how we can all make the world a better place. Oh, and there was also that one time he kidnapped someone on tour - but more on that later… Watch Your Song on Channel 4 now!! — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Lizzie McCarthy and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast. I’ve always gravitated towards really naughty people, and few people are as naughty as THE Rosie Jones. Since our first meeting, in the presence of actual royalty (more on that later), I’ve followed her incredible career as she’s taken the UK comedy scene by storm!! She started out writing jokes for TV that made other people funny, and now, in her own right, is one of the country’s best known stand-up comedians. 🎤 She also starred in her very own TV show ‘Pushers’ and is a published children’s author. We talk about how to deal with keyboard warriors and how understanding ableism stopped Rosie from feeling guilt about her disability. We also talk about her being a good (and bad) drunk, loving a good flirt, having no regrets and her ‘tricks’ for dodging train tickets… 🤫 — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Edit Producer: Kat Milsom Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Lizzie McCarthy and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti & Laura Iredale Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast. When I first met Jamali I wasn’t sure if he liked me or not… so I thought I’d get him on the podcast to find out 🤣 Jamali Maddix is one of the sharpest minds in comedy, saying what we’re all thinking, whether we’re ready to hear it or not. You might’ve seen him on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, QI or 8 Out of 10 Cats, but he’s not just funny… he’s seriously thought-provoking too. From his documentaries like Follow The Leader to appearing on Jimmy Carr’s Am I The A**hole?, Jamali has this way of diving into uncomfortable topics and making them make sense. We get into EVERYTHING in this one… from generational trauma to anger, grief and why it’s okay to not always have the answers. It’s deep, it’s funny, it’s a bit chaotic… basically exactly how I like it. We also talk about whether men can actually be trusted in relationships (👀), if animals cry, and why sometimes anger might not be such a bad thing after all. — Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube — Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Edit Producer: Kat Milsom Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Video: Josh Bennett, Jake Ji and Harry Sawkins Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast. I’ve been SO excited to speak to Michelle since I first watched her brilliant stand-up comedy. She’s funny, honest, a bit chaotic (just like me) and has some of the MADDEST stories 🤣 After a successful modelling career, bossing the catwalks of New York and beyond, Michelle moved back to the UK in her 30s and turned to the world of comedy. She has written and starred in her own BBC sitcom ‘Spent’, appeared alongside Katherine Ryan in The Duchess and is currently on her ‘The Afters’ stand-up tour across the UK. We talk about our shared experience of being raised by a single mum, how Michelle got fired from a burlesque club, and what it’s like to suddenly make (and spend) LOADS of money in your 20s 💸. We also spoke about society’s expectations of women and why she’s chosen not to have kids. You can find tickets for ‘The Afters’ tour HERE ! Ellie is one of Britain’s most decorated Paralympians and the youngest person ever to receive an OBE, making history both in and out of the pool. 🏊 You might also have seen her amazing documentaries, like Ellie Simmonds: Finding My Secret Family (A BAFTA winner by the way…) , or ice-cold moves on Strictly Come Dancing. She is simply one of the kindest, warmest people I’ve met. After watching her documentary I became completely fascinated by her story and just knew I had to get her on the podcast. In this episode we talk about everything from team pranks and embarrassing moments with Barack Obama, to disability in the care system, online hate, regrets, and the incredible friends and family that keep her grounded. I’ve always LOVED Mo Gilligan (even though he’s from South London and I’m from East, who famously don’t get on!). You might know him from his huge stand-up specials, one of his amazing podcasts or from The Masked Singer, and it was such a pleasure having him on my sofa. We talk all about the madness of stand-up and the never-ending search for the funny in everyday life, from working in retail back in the day (like me 🙌) to booking surprise private jets for his friends. Mo was so honest about how much he’s been affected by getting hate messages online, becoming a dad and how he deals with conflict. His outlook on life is so unflappable and so refreshingly positive. BIG UP MO! You can catch him live on his ‘The Mo You Know’ world tour throughout 2026. We spend a lot of time here talking about love, the beautiful bits, the brutal bits, and the bits that quietly undo you when no one’s looking. And that’s exactly why this caught my attention. NearlyWeds with Molly & Tom is a brand new podcast following two reality-TV favourites as they take their romance from public to deeply personal, navigating the emotional, chaotic, hilarious reality of planning a wedding. From family dynamics and money stress to guest list politics, outfits, expectations and the pressure of doing it all “right”, Molly and Tom share the honest behind-the-scenes moments no one really talks about. It’s heartfelt, funny, and refreshingly real. Check out NearlyWeds with Molly and Tom out now Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Green party polls and membership are at an all time high, and there is one name at the centre of it all: THE Zack Polanski!! In just six months, he and his team have tripled its membership to nearly 200,000 - and it’s growing rapidly. At a time of climate collapse, abuses of power (recently exposed in the Epstein files) and multiple genocides, he represents something rare…hope. Openly gay, socialist and unapologetically vocal about minority rights, he’s also comfortable admitting when he’s wrong, which feels pretty radical in today's world. I put on my “I <3 Zack” t-shirt to talk about what it really means to make politics accessible, why we shouldn’t vote Reform, and his questionable acting stint in America… If you want to buy the t-shirt and support the greens I’ve attached the link here: https://katharinehamnett.teemill.com/product/i-heart-zack-white-t-shirt/ Find us on: Instagram / TikTok / YouTube #ZACKPOLANSKI #PALOMAFAITH #MADSADBAD Credits: Producer: Emilia Gill Assistant Producer: Alex Reed Additional Assistant Producer: Lydia Brownell Video: Josh Bennett, Jake Ji and Lizzie McCarthy Sound: Rafi Amsili Geovannetti Original music: BUTCH PIXY Social Media: Laura Coughlan Exec Producer for JamPot: Ewan Newbigging-Lister Exec Producers for Idle Industries: Dave Granger & Will Macdonald Hosted on Acast.
