What does it actually mean to live a consecrated life? Maybe it isn’t about doing more. Maybe it begins with looking up. Today on enLIGHTen, we ponder the beautiful law of consecration through scripture, prayer, art, and everyday life. We look at Jehoshaphat’s powerful prayer—“we know not what to do, but our eyes are upon thee”—and discover a pattern of praising God, remembering His goodness, trusting His promises, and then surrendering our need to Him. We sit with Mary at the feet of Jesus and remember that sometimes the “good part” is simply making space to listen. And we consider a question that can change the way we begin every day: “How can I live a consecrated life today?” Consecration can happen in quiet prayers, repetitive work, motherhood, repentance, listening, serving, trusting, and doing small things with great love. We may not know what to do. But we can keep our eyes upon Him.

What if BEAUTY + THE BEAST is actually a story about learning to LOVE like Jesus? 🌹 I absolutely loved this conversation with my dear friend Cassie Shepherd @homecenteredlearning. We talked about fairy tales. The scriptures. The sparrow. Learning. Beauty + the Beast. Transformation. And the God who created galaxies—but still notices ONE. Because that is the miracle of His love. God loves ALL. And God loves EACH. And as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are learning to do the same. Maybe that means looking beyond someone's rough exterior and seeing the wounded heart underneath. Maybe it means asking a more thoughtful question. Maybe it means giving someone their “library”—not what WE think they need, but something that tells them: I see you. I know you. I know what matters to you. And maybe LOVING MORE doesn't always mean DOING more. Sometimes it means SEEING more. Seeing people the way Jesus sees them. Seeing their divine potential. Seeing the person underneath the Beast. And loving them toward the person they were always meant to become. 🤍

There is no end to learning. I love that thought—but lately I've been pondering something even deeper: God doesn't simply ask us to learn. He teaches us how. “Seek learning, even by study and also by faith.” This week on enLIGHTen, we're talking about what happens when STUDY and FAITH come together. I'm sharing three books that have brought light into my life and helped me think differently about three areas of discipleship: SACRED TIME — making the Sabbath a true place of restoration. SACRED PACE — slowing down enough to notice truth and notice people. SACRED STEWARDSHIP — caring for the remarkable mind and body God has given us. And underneath all of it is Christ's beautiful invitation: “Learn of me.”

What if building God's kingdom doesn't always look like we think it does? . Sometimes it looks like scripture study and temple worship . And sometimes it looks like making lunch. Driving carpool. Changing a diaper Listening to a hurting child Cleaning Goldfish crackers out of the car Or getting up one more time in the middle of the night . We wear so many hats . Mother. Wife. Teacher. Creator. Driver. Friend. Disciple. . But maybe God isn't asking us to perfectly balance every hat . Maybe He's asking us to let Him be the purpose underneath them all . The widow brought only two mites . Others gave far more . But Jesus saw her heart . She gave her heartfelt all . And maybe that's what He asks from us too . Not everything all at once . Not someone else's offering . Just ours . In this season In this moment With our whole heart . 🤍 What are your “two mites” today?

This week on enLIGHTen, my dear friend Michelle Forstrom joined me to talk about family, revelation, generations, and the beautiful ways God weaves our individual lives into something so much bigger. A garment isn’t created all at once. It’s made one stitch at a time. Maybe our families and our faith are built the same way. One prayer. One apology. One prompting followed. One act of forgiveness. One choice to love. 🤍 The little things can feel insignificant—but every stitch matters. And when we make a mistake? We can go back. We can repair. We can begin again. That’s the beauty of Jesus Christ. The mistake doesn’t have to become the pattern. We may only see the thread in our hands. God sees the whole garment. 🧵✨ So keep praying. Keep loving. Keep following those little promptings. You never know how the stitches you make today may warm generations to come. Give God your thread. FAMILY 🤍 Of all the things we build in this life, few matter more than the relationships we build with one another. And they take work. They take forgiveness. Time. Teaching. Listening. Putting down our phones. Showing up again and again. This week on enLIGHTen, Megan from @defense_of_family joined me for a beautiful conversation about why family is worth fighting for. We talked about the prophetic power of The Family: A Proclamation to the World, the influence of parents and grandparents, the strength that comes through our ancestors and the temple, and the hope Jesus Christ gives us when our families don't look exactly as we hoped they would. One thought has stayed with me: Today is not eternity. God sees beyond the struggle we're experiencing right now. He sees generations. He sees what came before us and what can come after us. And through Jesus Christ, He is still working in our families—even when we can't yet see how the story will end. Family really is God's masterpiece. So put down the phone. Make the call. Sit around the table. Tell the stories. Say you're sorry. Go to the temple. Love the people God has placed in your life. Fight for what lasts forever.

CONFIDENCE. The world teaches us to "believe in ourselves. The scriptures teach us something even greater: Believe in Christ. Believe in our Covenant Connection to God. Believe that Family matters more than all that stands against us. When Elisha declared, "They that be with us are more than they that be with them," nothing about the visible circumstances had changed. But heaven was already present. This week, my son London Timothy @london_timothy joined me as we talked about ancestors & angels - courage & covenants along with Elder Holland's unforgettable message Cast Not Away Therefore Thy Confidence, and why lasting confidence comes from walking with God. This week we explored what it truly means to Shine Not so much to draw attention to ourselves— but to reflect Jesus Christ . Jason Paul @latterdailysaints reminded us that disciples are like the glass on an overhead projector . The glass isn't the source of the light— it simply allows Christ's light to be seen more clearly . Our calling isn't to become the light . It's to let His light pass through us . Brooke Johnson @whyiloveamerica Shared how gratitude for God, America's founding, and those who sacrificed before us gives us courage to preserve freedom for the next generation . Freedom isn't something to admire from afar— it's something to protect, teach, and live . Together we discovered that shining begins with personal repentance, grows through gratitude, and becomes brighter as we courageously stand for truth

What if belief is more than simply agreeing with truth? What if belief is trusting Jesus enough to step onto the bridge before you know how everything will work out? Throughout history—from Abraham to Moses, from the Pilgrims to the pioneers, from Alma's people to our own families—God has always invited His children to walk forward by faith before they could see the destination. Jesus never promised a life without storms. He promised Himself. As Alma taught, when people turned to Christ, "their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word" and "their souls did expand." Belief changes us. It loosens chains. It enlarges hearts. It fills darkness with light. If you're carrying something heavy today... Hear His invitation: "Be not afraid, only believe."

This week I got to visit with Clark and Kathleen Hinckley as together we explored how God reveals His will to ordinary people willing to trust Him. From Christopher Columbus crossing an unknown ocean, to Gutenberg preparing the way for scripture, to the Pilgrims seeking religious freedom, we see that the Lord has always guided His children one step at a time. I loved all these powerful historical insights showing how revelation often comes long before we understand the reason for it. When venturing into the unknown we too can follow the quiet guidance of the Holy Ghost— who not only teaches us new truth, but reminds us of the truth already written on our hearts.

Today I sat down with Judge James Jones to talk about The Constitution and what it means to Stand Fast in Liberty. To stand fast means to hold your ground when truth is challenged, to remain faithful when culture shifts, and to trust Christ enough to keep standing even when you're standing alone . Freedom has always required faithful people. May we stand fast in the liberty Christ has given us and use that freedom to build His kingdom with courage, conviction, and love. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free." — Galatians 5:1

. Freedom is more than a just national blessing— it is a gift that points us to Jesus Christ. This week on enLIGHTen, we explore the miracle of freedom, the God who delivers His people, and why true liberty is always found in Him. What if the mountain in front of you isn't moved all at once. But one seed at a time. Today on enLIGHTen, my dear friend Rebecca Frederick reminded us that faith is a superpower. Not because faith is always big. But because God magnifies even the smallest offering. A prayer. A scripture. A choice to trust. A desire to believe. A seed. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. Sometimes the miracle isn't that the mountain disappears. Sometimes the miracle is that Christ gives us strength to keep climbing. Don't underestimate today's small act of faith. God grows mustard seeds into sheltering trees. When we receive His grace with trust He Grows us too!

What if obedience isn't about restriction, but relationship? This week on enLIGHTen, we explored how every commandment is an invitation to say, "God, I trust You." Jesus taught, "If ye love me, keep my commandments," and Elder Holland reminds us that Christ is the Lawgiver—the perfect giver of laws whose purpose is to increase our happiness and our capacity to love. The more I study the scriptures, the more I see that obedience isn't about losing freedom. It's about abiding in God's love, receiving more light, and trusting the One who sees farther than we can.

What if one small ray of light could change everything . Today on enLIGHTen Jacqueline Andersen shared how Christ’s light doesn’t wait for our lives to be perfect before entering in . Before the world was fully formed God said “Let there be light” . And maybe that’s how He still works with us Not waiting until we have everything figured out Not waiting until the darkness is completely gone But meeting us right in the middle of it . We talked about opening the curtains to let light in Shabbat candles and what they symbolize how scripture becomes a lamp unto our feet and how even one small drop of light can begin to push back the darkness . One of my favorite reminders from today: “You can’t borrow light. You have to seek it daily.” . Whether through prayer the temple the scriptures serving others or simply choosing goodness again and again Christ is always inviting us closer to His light

Sometimes God does not speak through the earthquake the fire or the storm. He speaks through a whisper. A quiet nudge a scripture that burns in your heart a feeling that will not leave. “Hear Him” means more than listening. It means trusting Him enough to follow. God will often lead us out of comfort and into growth. Not to punish us. But to sanctify us. The more intentionally we seek Him through prayer scripture the temple and stillness the more clearly we begin to hear Him.

Jesus never asked us to be perfect first. He asked us to seek Him first. Hungry souls that turn toward heaven will never leave empty. He is still the Bread of Life. Still nourishing, still filling, still multiplying the little we place in His hands.

Today’s enLIGHTen felt like standing beneath the branches of the Tree of Life and remembering that God is always reaching toward us. 🌿 With Dianna Istook Abbott, we talked about trees, temples, priesthood power, spiritual treasures, and the beautiful truth that growth often happens in hidden places first. Just like roots stretching deep underground before fruit appears, so much of what God is doing in us happens quietly before it blossoms. One of my favorite thoughts from today: The branch that seemed “imperfect” was the very branch reaching down closest to the ground… reminding us that Christ meets us exactly where we are. 🤍 We talked about how the Tree of Life begins in Genesis and appears again in Revelation… how light overcomes darkness… how the Savior nourishes us little by little… and how every covenant, every prayer, every small act of turning toward Him is part of our journey back to the presence of God.
