Have you been trying to lose weight for months, years, or maybe even decades, and feel like you're doing everything right but nothing seems to stick? If that sounds familiar, this episode is your reality check. Because sometimes the thing keeping you stuck has nothing to do with food or exercise. It can be the stories you keep telling yourself. And the stories we repeat eventually become beliefs, and our beliefs influence our actions. In this episode, I’m breaking down 10 common lies or beliefs that might be keeping you stuck with your weight and, more importantly, what I want you to start thinking about instead. Here’s what I cover: “I just need more willpower.” Why you don't need more discipline, you need a plan that actually fits your life. “I need to eat less.” Why undereating during the day can leave you ravenous at night and make healthy eating much harder. “I don't have time.” Why waiting for life to magically become less busy isn't the answer, and how to work with the time you already have. “My hormones are broken.” Why hormones absolutely matter, especially as we get older, but why I don't want you assuming there's nothing within your control. “I have to cut out carbs, wine or chocolate.” Why making your favourite foods the villain can create an all-or-nothing relationship with food. “I need to exercise harder.” Why more exercise isn't automatically better and why your movement should support your lifestyle rather than exhaust you. “I'll start on Monday.” Why constantly waiting for the perfect time keeps you stuck in the cycle of starting over. “I've already ruined today, so I may as well keep eating.” Why one choice doesn't have to turn into an entire day of overeating. “I know what to do, I just need to try harder.” Why knowing what to do isn't always the problem — creating habits you can actually sustain is. “This is just how I am.” Why your current habits and behaviours don't have to define your future. I also share some of my own experiences because, trust me, I've been there. For years I thought the answer was another diet, more restriction, more exercise or simply trying harder. Eventually I realised that the real transformation came from changing the way I approached food, movement, habits and, most importantly, my mindset. This is exactly why I’m so passionate about helping busy, high-achieving women create a lifestyle that supports their goals without tracking calories, restricting themselves or spending hours in the gym or kitchen. If you recognised yourself in even ONE of these beliefs, don't beat yourself up. Awareness is where change starts. Instead of asking yourself, “What's wrong with me?” , I want you to start asking: “What story am I telling myself that might be keeping me stuck?” And then ask yourself: “What can I actually change from here?” You don't need to overhaul your entire life overnight. You need to start creating habits that work with your actual life, and that you can continue even when life gets busy. If you enjoyed this episode and found it valuable, please share it with a friend who needs to hear this too. And if you have a few seconds, I'd love for you to leave the show a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It helps me reach more women who need this message. Ready to get support? GLP-1 weight loss medications are everywhere right now, and I know there are a lot of women wondering whether they should consider them, whether they actually work, and most importantly, what happens when you eventually stop taking them. In this episode, I’m sharing my honest take on GLP-1 medications and why I believe the most important conversation isn’t just “How much weight can I lose?” but “What is my long-term plan?” I want to be really clear from the beginning: I’m not anti-GLP-1 and I’m not here to tell you whether you should or shouldn’t take medication. That’s a conversation for you and your doctor based on your individual circumstances, health, risks and benefits. For some people, medication may absolutely be an appropriate part of their long-term medical treatment. But regardless of whether you’re taking a GLP-1 temporarily or long term, I believe the habits and skills you build alongside it still matter. In this episode, I talk about: Why I believe weight loss and weight maintenance need to be part of the conversation from day one What can happen when people discontinue GLP-1 medications and why this doesn’t mean the medication or the person has “failed” Why relying solely on medication can leave you without the skills you need to maintain your results The importance of learning how to nourish yourself when your appetite is reduced Why protein, nutrient-dense foods, meal structure, movement, sleep and stress management still matter How to prepare for real-life situations like stressful work weeks, travel, restaurants, Christmas and social events Why your habits need to work in your actual life , not your perfect dream life How to use the time while taking medication as an opportunity to build sustainable habits Why GLP-1 medication and a healthy lifestyle don’t have to compete with each other The question I want you to ask yourself: “What does my life look like after I’ve lost this weight?” I also share why I think it’s so important not to wait until you’ve reached your goal weight before thinking about maintenance. Whether you stay on medication long term or eventually want to come off it, the goal is to build a lifestyle where you feel nourished, strong, confident and in control around food. Because ultimately, medication can be a tool to support weight loss — but the skills you build are what can support you for the long term. And if you’re currently taking a GLP-1 and your appetite has changed significantly or you’re struggling to eat enough or nourish yourself properly, please make sure you’re working with the appropriate healthcare professionals. My biggest takeaway for you today: don’t just have a weight-loss plan. Have a long-term plan. Ask yourself: What am I learning while I’m losing the weight that will help me maintain it? And if you know someone who is taking a GLP-1 or considering one, send her this episode — not to scare her or tell her what decision to make, but to get her thinking about the question that really matters: “What is my long-term plan?” Apply for coaching: HERE Follow Angela on Instagram: HERE Join our FREE Facebook community for busy professional women: HERE
If you’ve lost weight before only to find yourself gaining it back again, I want you to know something: you don’t necessarily have a weight loss problem. You have a maintenance problem. In this episode, I’m challenging the way you may have been thinking about weight loss for years and sharing why losing the weight is often not the hardest part. The real challenge is creating habits and a lifestyle that allow you to maintain those results without constantly dieting. I know this personally because I spent years losing and regaining weight. I was very good at losing weight, but the methods I was using weren’t sustainable. I was tracking everything I ate, obsessing over food and exercising excessively. I was smaller, but I couldn’t realistically live that way forever. And that’s the question I want you to start asking yourself: “Can I realistically keep doing this after I’ve lost the weight?” Because how you lose the weight should teach you how to maintain it. In this episode, I’m sharing: Why repeatedly losing and regaining the same weight may actually be a maintenance problem , not a weight loss problem. Why the habits you use during your weight loss journey need to be habits you can realistically continue long term. How relying on restriction can make it difficult to maintain your results when real life inevitably gets in the way. Why calorie tracking can create awareness but shouldn’t have to become something you depend on forever. How perfectionism and the “all or nothing” mentality can keep high-achieving women stuck in the cycle of being “perfect” Monday to Friday and then giving up after one imperfect day. Why consistency is more important than perfection when it comes to sustainable results. How to become comfortable living in the grey area rather than constantly bouncing between being completely “on” and completely “off”. Why an imperfect meal, overeating occasionally or missing a workout doesn’t mean you’ve ruined your progress. The mindset shift that can help you stop starting over every Monday and instead learn how to simply continue. I want you to remember that maintenance isn’t about being perfect. It doesn’t mean you’ll never overeat, never have an unbalanced meal or never miss a workout. It means that when life happens, you know how to get back to your normal habits without turning one imperfect day into weeks of being “off track.” That is the skill I want you to build. Because your goal shouldn’t simply be to become someone who can lose weight. Your goal should be to become someone who knows how to maintain her results while actually living her life. If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of losing and regaining the same kilos, I hope this episode gives you a completely different perspective on what needs to change. And if you found this episode helpful, share it with a woman who needs to hear this too. ❤️ Ready for support? If you’re a busy woman with a demanding job, a business, kids, deadlines and a never-ending to-do list, you probably know exactly what it feels like to say, “I know what I need to do… I just don’t have the time to do it.” I get it. I’ve been there too. But here’s what I want you to take away from this episode: you don’t need another hour in your calendar to start looking after yourself. Instead of waiting for life to calm down, I want you to learn how to build healthy habits that actually work within your busy lifestyle. Just like I’ve shared in previous episodes, planning, organisation and creating simple routines are key to making healthy habits sustainable. In this episode, I’m sharing five simple habits that take around five minutes and can help you stay on track, even when your week feels completely hectic. Here’s what I cover: 1. Take five minutes to regulate your nervous system 2. Take five minutes to meal plan your week 3. Use five minutes to get organised 4. Use five minutes to add more movement to your day 5. Take five minutes to prepare for tomorrow I don't want you waiting for the perfect week, the perfect Monday or a quieter period at work before you start looking after yourself. There is never going to be a completely empty calendar. What I want you to do instead is find small pockets of time that already exist in your day and use them intentionally. I've seen again and again that sustainable weight loss isn't about following a perfect plan. It's about creating habits, routines and a mindset that you can actually maintain when real life happens. So if you're feeling overwhelmed because you think getting healthy is going to require hours in the kitchen, hours at the gym and another huge task on your to-do list, I want you to rethink that. Start with five minutes. Five minutes can be enough to create a pause, make a plan and make the next healthy choice a little easier. If this episode resonated with you, share it with another busy woman who needs to hear that she doesn't need more time — she needs habits that fit the life she's already living. Do you spend the whole day eating "healthy" only to find yourself standing in the pantry after dinner wondering why you just can't stop eating? If so, I want you to know something really important... It's probably not a willpower problem. This is one of the biggest struggles I hear from the busy professional women I work with every day. They tell me they're "good" all day, but once the evening rolls around, they feel completely out of control around food. The good news? There is a reason this keeps happening, and it's something we can actually fix. In this episode, I'm breaking down the five biggest reasons why you're overeating at night and sharing practical strategies to help you feel more in control around food without relying on more discipline, motivation or restriction. In this episode, you'll learn: Why not eating enough during the day is setting you up to overeat at night. How unbalanced meals can leave you constantly hungry—even if you're eating "healthy." Why trying to be the "perfect eater" often leads to overeating later in the day. How stress, mental exhaustion and emotional fatigue can trigger evening snacking. Why building better routines is far more effective than relying on willpower. Five simple strategies you can start using today to reduce nighttime overeating naturally. If you've been blaming yourself every evening, I hope this episode helps you realise that you're not lacking discipline, you simply need a better strategy. Have you ever felt like you know exactly what you should be doing to lose weight... but life keeps getting in the way? In this Ask Me Anything episode, I'm answering five of the most common questions I receive from busy women who are trying to lose weight without sacrificing family time, giving up their favorite foods, or constantly starting over every Monday. If you've ever struggled with consistency, wondered why your body isn't responding the way it used to, or felt frustrated because you're eating "healthy" but still not seeing results, this episode is for you. In this episode, I discuss: Why consistency isn't about having more willpower, it's about creating better systems. My simple 1-1-3 meal planning method that makes healthy eating easier, even during busy weeks. Why you never need to cook separate meals for yourself and your family to lose weight. How portion control allows you to enjoy foods like pasta, bread, and family favorites while still making progress. Why weight loss becomes more challenging after 35, including the role of cortisol, estrogen, insulin, and muscle mass. The difference between eating healthy and eating for fat loss. Why knowing what to do isn't enough and how to identify the real reason you're struggling with consistency. Why solving emotional eating, stress, and burnout is often more important than finding another meal plan or healthy recipe. Key Takeaways Healthy eating doesn't have to be complicated. The more you simplify your approach and prepare ahead of time, the easier it becomes to stay consistent. Weight loss shouldn't require restriction or separate meals. Learning how to portion your meals properly allows you to enjoy the foods you love while still reaching your goals. If you're over 35, your body has changed and your strategy needs to change with it. Understanding your hormones, protecting your muscle mass, and managing stress can make a significant difference. Finally, if you keep starting over every Monday, remember this: you're not broken, and you don't lack motivation. Most of the time, you're simply trying to solve the wrong problem. Once you identify what's really holding you back, consistency becomes much easier. In this episode, you'll learn: The difference between calorie tracking and calorie awareness (and why it matters) Whether you can successfully lose weight without counting calories Who may benefit from calorie tracking and who should avoid it The warning signs that calorie tracking is becoming unhealthy Simple ways to create a calorie deficit without restriction or obsession Why "healthy" doesn't always mean low calorie Practical strategies to transition away from calorie tracking with confidence The truth about intuitive eating and whether it supports weight loss Savina's favourite nutrition tips, biggest calorie myths, and underrated weight loss habits This episode is packed with practical advice that will help you build confidence around food, make informed choices, and create sustainable habits that actually fit your busy lifestyle. You already know what to eat. You know you should prioritize protein, plan your meals, drink more water, and stop relying on takeaway when life gets busy. So why does healthy eating still feel so hard? In this episode, I'm sharing the five simple systems I use myself and teach inside my coaching program to help healthy eating become almost automatic. Because the truth is, consistency isn't something you're born with, it's something you build. And after helping more than 900 women transform their eating habits without tracking calories, restricting foods, or spending hours in the kitchen, I've learned that sustainable weight loss has very little to do with willpower and everything to do with having the right systems in place. If you're tired of feeling like you're constantly "starting over" every Monday, this episode will help you simplify your approach so healthy eating feels effortless instead of exhausting. In this episode, I'll cover: Why making food decisions every day is draining your energy (and what to do instead) The simple planning system that removes decision fatigue before your week even begins Why putting your health in your calendar is one of the biggest predictors of consistency How to make healthy choices the easiest choices in your environment The power of setting minimum standards so you can stay consistent, even on your busiest days Why building systems—not relying on motivation—is the secret to long-term weight loss success If you haven't listened to last week's episode about why you know what to do but still aren't doing it , I highly recommend listening to that first, then coming back to this one. Together, these two episodes will completely change the way you think about consistency. Links Apply for coaching: HERE Follow Angela on Instagram: HERE
Have you ever caught yourself thinking: "I know exactly what I should be doing... I just can't seem to stick to it." If so, I want you to know that you're not alone. This is one of the most common frustrations I hear from the women I speak to every single day. And after coaching hundreds of busy professional women, I've realised something important… The problem isn't that you don't know what to do. The problem is that you're trying to solve an execution problem by collecting more information. In this episode, I'm sharing why knowing more about nutrition isn't the answer and the five hidden reasons that are stopping you from being consistent with healthy eating and weight loss. If you've spent years blaming yourself, thinking you're lazy, unmotivated or lacking willpower, this episode will completely change the way you look at your weight loss journey. In this episode, you'll learn: Why information isn't the thing keeping you stuck (and what actually is) How relying on memory instead of systems makes healthy eating feel impossible Why decision fatigue is sabotaging your food choices after a busy day at work The truth about motivation and why waiting to "feel ready" keeps you stuck How perfectionism and unrealistic expectations stop you from building lasting habits Why self-blame is making consistency harder than it needs to be My hope is that by the end of this episode you'll stop thinking that something is wrong with you and instead realise that you simply need better systems—not more discipline. And this is just Part 1. In next week's episode, I'll be sharing the five simple systems I personally use and teach inside my coaching program to make healthy eating feel almost automatic—even if you're working long hours, juggling family life and don't have time to spend hours in the kitchen. If you're tired of starting over every Monday, this is an episode you don't want to miss. Links Apply for coaching: HERE Follow Angela on Instagram: HERE
Have you ever felt like your metabolism is “broken”? Maybe you’re eating the same way you always have, but the weight keeps creeping up. Your energy is low, your body feels different, and the strategies that used to work just don’t anymore. In this episode, I’m explaining why your metabolism probably isn’t broken at all, it’s adapted. After years of restrictive dieting, skipping meals, under-eating, chronic stress, and losing muscle mass, your body simply becomes more efficient at conserving energy. The good news? What has adapted can also improve. I’m walking you through the five common signs that your metabolism may have slowed down, why this happens (especially for women over 35), and the practical steps you can take to support a healthier, stronger metabolism without restrictive dieting or spending hours in the gym. In this episode, I cover: Why your metabolism isn't broken, it has simply adapted. The 5 signs your metabolism may have slowed down. Why gaining weight despite eating the same foods can happen. The connection between low energy, under-eating and a slower metabolism. How losing muscle impacts both your body composition and calorie burn. Why constantly feeling cold can sometimes be a sign of metabolic adaptation. Why weight loss feels harder after years of dieting. The biggest habits that slow your metabolism, including low protein intake, restrictive dieting, inactivity, chronic stress and poor sleep. The simple strategies that help rebuild your metabolism and support sustainable weight loss. If you've been blaming your metabolism for your lack of progress, I hope this episode gives you a completely different perspective. Your body isn't working against you, it's responding to the habits it's been exposed to over the years. The good news is that with the right approach, you can improve your metabolic health, build muscle, feel more energetic and make weight loss feel easier again. In today’s episode, I share something that might surprise you — you can absolutely lose weight without changing your actual food choices. Instead of focusing only on what you eat, I want you to start looking at the habits and behaviours around food that are often the real reason you feel stuck. Before we dive in, I also take you through a short mindset primer to help you shift the way you think about weight loss. Because from my experience, lasting change always starts in your mindset, not just your meal plan. Episode Overview Most women I work with already know what healthy eating looks like. The real challenge isn’t knowledge — it’s consistency, behaviour, and the small daily habits that influence hunger, cravings, and food choices. In this episode, I break down how things like sleep, stress, eating speed, and even how distracted you are while eating can completely change your results — without changing your diet at all. If you’ve been doing “everything right” but still not seeing progress, this episode will help you understand why. Key Mindset Shift One of the biggest takeaways from this episode is this: Instead of asking “What should I eat?” or “What should I cut out?” Start asking: “What behaviours are affecting how I eat?” Because weight loss isn’t just about food — it’s about the environment, habits, and routines around your food choices. 8 Ways to Lose Weight Without Changing Your Food Here are the core strategies I walked you through in this episode: 1. Slow down when you eat Your brain needs time to register fullness. When you slow down, you naturally eat less without changing your meals. 2. Prioritise your sleep Poor sleep increases hunger, cravings, and emotional eating. It also makes healthy choices feel much harder. 3. Drink more water A lot of “hunger” is actually dehydration. Staying hydrated can reduce snacking and improve energy levels. 4. Walk more You don’t need extreme workouts. Increasing daily steps and movement has a huge impact on fat loss and stress levels. 5. Stop skipping meals Skipping meals often leads to overeating later in the day. Regular eating helps regulate appetite and cravings. 6. Manage stress better Stress eating is real. Building tools like walking, journaling, or taking breaks helps reduce emotional reliance on food. 7. Eat without distractions When you’re scrolling, working, or watching TV, you eat more without noticing. Being present with your meals changes everything. 8. Plan your week Planning removes decision fatigue. When you know what your week looks like, you’re far more consistent — even on busy days. What I Want You to Remember Weight loss doesn’t always require a complete diet overhaul. Sometimes the biggest transformation comes from: slowing down sleeping better moving more reducing stress and becoming more intentional with your daily habits These small changes compound into real, sustainable results. Instead of trying to do everything at once, I encourage you to pick just one habit from today’s episode and focus on it consistently this week. That’s how real, lasting change happens. Final Thoughts If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like nothing is working — I want you to know there is nothing wrong with you. It often just means you’ve been focusing on the wrong lever. Start with your habits. Start with your mindset. And keep things simple. I’ll see you next week for a new episode of The Healthy Diary Podcast . Have you ever looked at someone who seems to maintain their weight effortlessly and thought, “They’re just lucky”? In this episode, I challenge that belief and show you why naturally lean women aren’t relying on better genetics, more willpower, or a magical metabolism. Instead, they’ve developed a set of habits and beliefs that make healthy eating feel automatic. I also introduce a brand-new segment to the podcast: the Two-Minute Mindset Primer . Because after helping hundreds of women lose weight, I’ve learned that what keeps most women stuck isn’t the food, it’s the way they think about food, weight loss, and themselves. If you’ve spent years dieting, starting over every Monday, and searching for the perfect meal plan, this episode will help you shift your focus from temporary actions to long-term identity change. In this episode, I cover: Why lasting weight loss starts with changing your identity, not finding the perfect diet The biggest misconception women have about naturally lean people Why naturally lean women don’t diet—and what they do instead How reconnecting with your hunger and fullness cues can completely transform your relationship with food The role protein, whole foods, and balanced meals play in reducing cravings and supporting weight loss Why simple eating structures and routines make healthy eating easier for busy women How emotional eating keeps many women stuck and what naturally lean women do differently The reason naturally lean women never “start over” after a bad meal, weekend, or holiday Key Takeaway Naturally lean women aren't special, lucky, or genetically gifted. They've simply developed habits, behaviours, and beliefs that support their health consistently over time. The goal isn’t to copy their habits for a few weeks. The goal is to become the type of woman who naturally does these things without relying on motivation, perfection, or willpower. Because lasting weight loss isn't about acting like a naturally lean person for 30 days. It's about becoming one. Resources & Links Apply for coaching: HERE Follow Angela on Instagram: HERE
If you've ever felt like weight loss has become harder despite eating well and doing all the "right" things, you're not imagining it. As women move through their late 30s, 40s, and beyond, factors like stress, hormonal changes, sleep quality, muscle loss, and a busier lifestyle all start to play a bigger role in how our bodies respond. That's why the strategies that worked in your 20s often stop delivering the same results. In this episode, I'm sharing the seven morning habits I personally follow and regularly teach my clients to help lower cortisol, support hormonal health, improve energy levels, and make fat loss feel more achievable. These are simple habits that can create a powerful ripple effect throughout your entire day. In This Episode, I Discuss: Why weight loss often becomes more challenging after 40 The connection between cortisol, stress, and belly fat How morning sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm and improve sleep quality Why hydration should come before caffeine The surprising benefits I've experienced from taking creatine How protein-rich breakfasts support energy, muscle retention, and appetite control The importance of building a balanced breakfast with protein, fats, fiber, and carbohydrates Why moving your body before noon can improve insulin sensitivity How front-loading your daily steps can help you stay consistent and reduce stress You don't need to overhaul your entire routine overnight. Start with one or two habits that feel realistic for your current lifestyle and build from there. Small, consistent actions performed daily often create far greater results than trying to do everything perfectly. When you support your body by managing stress, prioritizing recovery, and creating healthy morning routines, fat loss becomes easier and you start feeling more like yourself again. If you've ever found yourself saying... "I don't have time." "I'll start when things calm down." "I just need more motivation." Then this episode is for you. The truth is, most women don't struggle with weight loss because they don't know what to eat. We live in a world where nutrition information is everywhere. You can Google it. You can ask ChatGPT. You can listen to podcasts, follow nutritionists, and read books. The problem isn't a lack of information. The problem is execution. And more often than not, the thing getting in the way isn't food—it's mindset. In this episode, I'm breaking down the 6 most common mindset blocks I see in smart, capable, high-achieving women who feel successful in every area of life except their health and weight. You'll learn why these beliefs keep you stuck, how they show up in your day-to-day life, and what you can do to finally move forward. If you’ve ever come home after a stressful day at work and found yourself reaching for chocolate, wine, Uber Eats, or snacks — this episode is for you. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down why stress eating happens and how to stop the cycle without relying on willpower, restrictive dieting, calorie tracking, or trying to “be more disciplined.” I talk about the real reasons busy professional women struggle with overeating at night — from emotional exhaustion and undereating during the day to decision fatigue, nervous system dysregulation, and chronic stress. I also share the practical strategies I teach my clients inside my coaching program to help them reduce stress eating, feel more in control around food, and finally lose weight in a way that feels sustainable and realistic for their busy lives. Because the truth is… stress eating is not a personality flaw. It’s a habit and a response to what your body is experiencing — and habits can absolutely be changed. In This Episode, We Cover: Why stress eating has nothing to do with laziness or lack of discipline The connection between stress, cortisol, cravings, and overeating How undereating during the day fuels overeating at night Why relying on willpower never works when you’re stressed and exhausted The importance of eating proper meals throughout the day How decision fatigue impacts your food choices Simple meal prep and “backup meal” strategies for busy women Why stress management is essential for sustainable weight loss How to regulate stress without using food as your only coping mechanism The danger of the all-or-nothing mindset What to do after an overeating episode instead of spiralling Simple evening habits that can help reduce stress eating Mentioned In The Episode Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily & Amelia Nagoski Loved This Episode? In this episode, I dive into something that doesn’t get talked about enough in the weight loss space — weight regain . If you’ve ever lost weight, felt proud of yourself, only to slowly (or quickly) see it come back, this episode is going to make you feel seen, understood, and most importantly… hopeful. Because weight regain isn’t a sign that you’ve failed. It’s a sign that the approach you were using wasn’t built for long-term sustainability. What I talk about in this episode I start by opening up about my own experience with yo-yo dieting — losing and regaining the same weight over and over again for years. If you’re stuck in that cycle, I want you to know you’re not alone, and there is a way out of it. We then unpack the real emotional experience of weight regain , because this is where most women get stuck in silence: Shame and frustration after “undoing” progress Grief for the body you felt confident in Self-blame and the fear of “what if this is just me now?” And I want to be really clear here: none of those thoughts are facts — they’re emotional responses, not your identity. The real reasons weight regain happens I break down the most common (and often misunderstood) reasons women regain weight: 1. Restriction backfires When you cut too much food or follow rigid rules, your body adapts. Metabolism slows, hunger increases, and eventually, weight comes back when normal eating resumes. 2. Short-term dieting mindset Most diets are built around a deadline — a holiday, a wedding, a goal weight. But once the “goal” is reached, the structure disappears. 3. The plan doesn’t fit your real life If your approach requires perfection, hours of prep, or constant restriction, it will eventually break the moment life gets busy. 4. Life happens Stress, grief, burnout, illness, and emotional seasons often shift eating patterns. Food becomes comfort — and that’s deeply human. The trap of quick fixes after weight regain One of the biggest mistakes I see is what happens after weight comes back. Most women go straight into: Juice cleanses Extreme calorie cuts “Start over Monday” diets 12-week challenges But this just repeats the same cycle — more restriction, more adaptation, and often more regain later. Instead, I explain why the answer is almost always: slower, smaller, more sustainable change that works with your body, not against it. What to do instead (the approach I teach) I walk you through a more supportive, realistic way forward: Give yourself space to acknowledge what happened (without judgment) Avoid “punishing” yourself with restriction again Rebuild structure gradually instead of trying to fix everything at once Focus on habits, not extremes Get support instead of doing it all alone And most importantly, I remind you that progress isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what actually lasts. If this episode resonated… If you found yourself relating to this conversation, I want you to know there is another way to approach weight loss — one that doesn’t rely on restriction, tracking, or constantly starting over. In today’s episode, I sit down with one of my incredible clients, Christina, who shares her powerful transformation inside my program, Lean Body & Strong Mindset. Christina opens up about how she lost 12.5kg , but more importantly, how she completely changed her relationship with food, her mindset, and her daily habits — all without restrictive dieting, calorie tracking, or giving up the foods she loves. This is a real, honest conversation about what it actually takes to lose weight sustainably when you’re a busy, high-achieving woman juggling work, travel, stress, and life. What We Cover in This Episode Christina’s life before starting her journey (stress, back injury, emotional eating & weight gain) Why old diet strategies stopped working for her The turning point that made her seek support How she lost 12.5kg and kept it off The role mindset played in her transformation (this was a big one!) How she learned to eat balanced meals without restriction Navigating social events, travel, and family life while losing weight The importance of accountability and coaching support How she now maintains her weight with ease — even during holidays and busy periods Why she no longer fears food or feels out of control around it Christina’s Biggest Shift One of the most powerful parts of Christina’s journey was realising that she didn’t just need a meal plan - she needed a new way of thinking . Once she started focusing on mindset, structure, and consistency, everything else started to fall into place naturally. My Final Thoughts This conversation is such a beautiful reminder that sustainable weight loss is possible - even with a busy lifestyle, travel, and social commitments. Christina’s journey shows that when you focus on building the right habits and supporting your mindset, you don’t need to live in restriction to feel confident in your body. If you’ve ever found yourself standing in front of the pantry at the end of a long day wondering “what am I even doing?” … this episode is for you. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down one of the most overlooked reasons why you struggle with consistency when it comes to food — decision fatigue . As a busy, high-achieving woman, you’re making thousands of decisions every single day. By the time it comes to food, your brain is exhausted… and that’s when you default to what’s easy, convenient, and instantly rewarding. This isn’t a willpower problem. It’s a systems problem . And the good news? It’s completely fixable. I’m walking you through 5 simple, practical strategies to reduce the mental load around food so eating well feels effortless — not like another task on your to-do list. What You’ll Learn In This Episode What decision fatigue is and why it’s impacting your food choices Why it’s not about discipline or willpower (and what actually matters) How to simplify your eating habits without restriction or tracking The exact systems I use (and teach my clients) to make healthy eating easy How to reduce overwhelm and finally feel consistent with food Loved This Episode? Are you eating “so well” during the day… only to feel completely out of control around food at night? In this episode, I’m unpacking a pattern I see all the time with busy professional women trying to lose weight — eating too little during the day, then overeating in the evening and blaming themselves for having “no willpower.” And here’s the truth: it’s not a discipline problem. It’s a biology problem. I’m breaking down why undereating during the day can actually make fat loss harder (especially for women over 35), why the 3pm energy crash keeps happening, and how this “good girl eating pattern” may be quietly keeping you stuck. If you’ve ever told yourself “I don’t even eat that much… so why can’t I lose weight?” — this episode is for you. In this episode, I share: Why eating less during the day can trigger overeating at night How undereating impacts cortisol, hunger hormones and fat storage Why the 3pm crash isn’t a willpower issue — it’s often a food structure issue The “restrict-binge” cycle many women are unknowingly stuck in Why low energy, cravings and evening grazing may be signs you’re under-fuelling How shifting hormones after 35 can make this pattern even harder on your body The 4 nutrition non-negotiables I focus on to support fat loss and stable energy: Protein at every meal Not skipping meals Why carbs are not the enemy Why portion awareness matters I also share why “eating healthy” alone isn’t a strategy for fat loss — and why eating smarter (not less) is often the missing piece. My biggest message for you today? Eating less is not the same as losing more. For so many women, the solution isn’t more restriction… it’s more structure. When you fuel your body properly, cravings settle, energy improves, overeating reduces and fat loss starts to feel a whole lot easier. If you’ve been stuck in that cycle of being “good” all day and then losing control at night, I hope this episode gives you a huge sense of relief — because there is nothing wrong with you, and there is a better way to do this.
