Some days you'll feel like a fucking goddess, and other days you'll look in the mirror and think, "What the actual fuck?" And guess what? BOTH ARE OKAY. Healing your relationship with your body doesn't mean loving every inch of it 24/7. It means learning to respect it, nourish it and live your life EVEN on the days you don't particularly like what you see. Because you don't have to love how your body looks to treat it with love. In today's podcast episode, we're talking about body image, body neutrality and why having a bad body image day doesn't mean you're going backwards. Listen now! Fat isn't a feeling. 💗 But anxiety, shame, insecurity, overwhelm and feeling out of control ARE. And sometimes, instead of recognising what's actually going on emotionally, we project those uncomfortable feelings onto our bodies. Suddenly, our body becomes the problem we think we need to fix. But what if your body was never the problem in the first place? In this episode, we're diving into why “I feel fat” often means something much deeper , and how learning to look beneath that thought can help you break free from negative body image and the binge/restrict cycle. 💗 🎧 Listen now! In this episode, I sit down with content creator Lauren, who I discovered on Instagram a few weeks ago and immediately connected with because of how raw and unfiltered she is about her binge eating journey online. We talk about where her binge eating began, the pressure to be thin or maintain a certain body size, and how perfectionism and the constant feeling of never being “good enough” can feed into the binge cycle. We also get vulnerable about our own experiences, sharing the highs, lows and lessons from both of our journeys with binge eating - and the things we wish more women talked about openly. In this episode I share my own personal story with how I tried so many different plans, coaches, diets to try and break my binge eating - all claiming they would be the one thing that fixed it. Only to realise after that they had absolutely no clue what they were doing (SPOILER ALERT: "just trying harder" doesn't work....). I'll also share exactly what I did to break it once and for all, drop the weight and still be binge free - 9 years later! DISCOUNT ENDED BUT YOU CAN STILL PURCHASE MY SELF-PACED OPTION HERE: ACCESS TEW PORTAL FOR LIFE This used to be me. If my partner or roommates went away for the weekend, there were times I would genuinely rather stay home alone and binge than go out and see my friends. Monday morning? I HATED bingeing. I felt bloated, guilty, uncomfortable and swore I was never doing it again. But by Thursday or Friday? I was excited about it again. Thinking about what I was going to buy. What I was going to eat. When I could finally be alone and just switch off. And eventually I realised something: Bingeing wasn't just about the food. It was excitement. Dopamine. Comfort. Escape. Something to look forward to after spending all week being disciplined, productive and "good." So breaking my binge eating wasn't just about learning how to say no to food. I had to build a life I didn't constantly need to escape from. I had to find pleasure outside of food. Learn how to slow down without needing a binge to force me to stop. Learn how to sit in uncomfortable feelings without immediately acting on them. And make my actual LIFE more exciting than the binge I was waiting for all week. I recorded a little nugget podcast episode about exactly this 🎙️💗 If your weekend binge sometimes feels like the highlight of your week, this one is for you. If you feel like you’ve been losing and gaining the same few kilos for YEARS , this little nugget episode is for you. Your body isn’t fighting against you. But if you keep repeating the same cycle — being super strict, losing weight, bingeing, gaining it back and then “starting again Monday” — you’re going to keep getting the same result. In this episode, I talk about why the answer isn’t MORE restriction or trying harder. It’s learning how to reconnect with your body, understand the patterns driving your bingeing, and actually build the tools that allow you to create results you can maintain long-term. Because losing the weight isn’t the hardest part. It’s losing it without having to fight yourself to keep it off. If you’ve been trying to stop binge eating by working on your willpower, food or meal plan , you are missing a HUGE piece of the puzzle: your nervous system. In this week’s episode, I’m breaking down why nervous system regulation plays such an important role in breaking the binge cycle — and what’s actually happening in your body when you feel stressed, overwhelmed or completely out of control around food. We talk about the different nervous system responses: Regulation — when you feel safe, calm and connected Fight — irritation, anger, frustration and feeling on edge Flight — anxiety, overthinking, overdoing and needing control Freeze — shutting down, feeling numb or completely stuck Fawn — people-pleasing, struggling with boundaries and putting everyone else first And most importantly, how these patterns can connect to your binge eating. Because when you understand what state you’re in, you can start learning what you actually need in that moment — instead of automatically turning to food for relief. If you want to understand your binge eating on a MUCH deeper level and start changing the pattern rather than just fighting the food, this episode is for you. NUGGET EPISODE - This short little nugget episode is about why fitness girls and gym girls often binge on “healthy” foods. Because gym girls don’t always binge on Nutella, Biscoff, chocolate, Maltesers, pizza or ice cream. Sometimes they binge on… Rice cakes and honey. Bananas. Dates. Granola. Tubs of yoghurt. Foods that are technically considered “healthy.” But just because you’re bingeing on healthy foods doesn’t mean it isn’t binge eating. And if this is something that’s negatively impacting your life or making you feel out of control around food, then you need to listen to this episode. If you keep losing the same weight, bingeing, gaining it back and promising yourself you’ll “do better next week”… this episode is for you. In this week’s podcast, I’m breaking down what’s ACTUALLY keeping you stuck in the binge eating cycle - from both a science and nervous system perspective. We talk about why bingeing isn’t simply a lack of willpower, why restricting and “starting again Monday” can keep the cycle going, and how food can become a learned way of coping with stress, overwhelm and uncomfortable emotions. Most importantly, I walk you through the changes you need to start making if you want to break the cycle instead of repeatedly trying harder at the same strategy. If you’re tired of losing and gaining the same weight and feeling like food is constantly controlling you, give this episode a listen. If you’ve ever wondered who you can actually trust in the fitness industry anymore… this episode is for you. I sat down with online fitness trainer and bodybuilding coach Tayla Townsend to talk about some of the biggest conversations happening in fitness right now: Who should — and shouldn’t — consider GLP-1s How AI is changing online coaching and making it harder to know who’s actually credible How to spot a GOOD coach (and why cheaper isn’t always better) How stress and cortisol impact your decision-making and ability to change Who should — and probably shouldn’t — compete in bodybuilding The red flags to address BEFORE stepping on stage In an industry where everything can look perfect online, how do you know who — and what — to actually trust? NUGGET EPISODE - What’s the difference between overeating and binge eating? If you’ve started feeling like your eating is a little bit out of control, and like it has started to affect your weight loss and results in the gym, but you’re not entirely sure it’s actually binge eating - this episode is for you! You're not binge eating because you don't know what to eat. You're binge eating because your brain learnt that food was the fastest way to escape emotions it never learnt how to process. That's why another meal plan hasn't fixed it. That's why more discipline hasn't fixed it. And that's why so many intelligent, driven, high-achieving women still find themselves losing control around food. Healing binge eating isn't about becoming "better" at dieting. It's about teaching your nervous system that it no longer needs food to cope. Ironically... That's also what makes sustainable weight loss possible. Because when the binges stop... Consistency becomes easy. My Instagram: elingranstrand & th e.empoweredwoman Join The Empowered Woman Program. You don't binge because you love food. You binge because somewhere along the way, your nervous system learnt that food was the fastest way to create relief. After coaching thousands of women, I've realised something... Almost none of them have a food problem. They're the women who have spent their whole lives being "the strong one." The overthinker. The people pleaser. The perfectionist. The woman who always puts everyone else first. And when life becomes too much... Food becomes the one place where they finally get a break. That's why another meal plan hasn't worked. That's why more willpower hasn't worked. Because you can't heal a nervous system with another diet. In this week's podcast, I dive into the patterns I've seen across thousands of coaching calls and explain why binge eating isn't your problem... It's your brain's solution to a much deeper one. If you've ever wondered... "Why can I be so disciplined all day and then lose control at night?" This episode is for you. 🤍 My Instagram: elingranstrand & th e.empoweredwoman Join The Empowered Woman Program.
