Where Claire and Lis talk about the goings on at Saints, Lightning and Blues. We talk about the latest matches as the Academy begin their league matches - we do discuss that very looong competition name. And we celebrate that yet again our Academy is delivering the goods. We talk about all the new arrivals at the three clubs, we talk weddings, our new Saints captain and we talk pre-season as both Claire and Lis have been out and about. We talk about Claire’s trips to Stowe and Goldington Road where she took photos of the teams working hard in pre-season. We celebrate the renewal of the Strategic Partnership between Bedford Blues and Northampton Saints. And that partnership has led to Loughborough Lightning heading to Goldington Road for the JAECOO PWR Next Gen Cup match against Saracens. Of course this pod is all about the build up to the semi final against Tigers, the wonderful game of rugby that we witnessed on Friday night and all the fun we had at the game. There are shout outs to lots of people, starting with our now regular feature of news from the high seas as one player’s Dad sails his yacht around Nova Scotia. Our dear friend Ben Rhodes did something very important before the game. Claire had a busy time with cameras whilst Lis was busy with yellow towels. We do name our LWP Player of the Match and there are two very worthy winners of the Sgt Wilson Award. We do talk about the other matches in the Gallagher PREM and The PWR. We do have a bit of a Media corner which is just as well given Lis is a regular on the airwaves. Dave on the sofa gets a lecture - really Dave we are in the 21st century! Where Lis is on the pod from Greece whilst Claire is still on the edge of the Fens. We start wth news from high seas as our latest chapter of Saints related sailing news has arrived. We talk about the Saints End of Season Dinner where both Claire and Lis met lots of people, there were a lot of awards and lots of fun. Lis went on holiday and Claire went to training where she dodged the showers and met a man from the Daily Telegraph. And of course we talk about Quins where the Saints lads set some records, we learned loads (as did some of the team) and we learned it will be Tigers in the semi final. As a result, Dave on the Sofa was out and about. On Sunday, the first East Midlands Derby of this week happened at Welford Road - the Lightning team battled to a good win. And then it was time for some emotional goodbyes. Finally, we look forward to the semi-final against Tigers - to say we are excited doesn’t do it justice! Bring it on! Where Claire and Lis celebrate Saints securing first place in the Gallagher PREM after a rollercoaster ride of a game at the Gardens. We also celebrate a Saintsman’s 200th cap. Lis gives out two awards at the Saints and Lightning games whilst Claire headed off to Goldington Road. We do talk about the games this weekend including Bedford Blues brave performance in the Champ Playoff Final and Lightning’s last game of the season at the Gardens. Where Claire and Lis have a fabulous guest to talk all things Champ with Sian Haynes from Champ Rugby!! Sian is an old friend - she was for many years the Head of Community at Saints but now she is one of the team leading the revamp of the former Championship into the Champ. We’re visiting all corners of the country as we have a natter about the changes to the league, the clubs involved and we discover that the Saintly family is to be found in so many places!! We do go for the occasional wander down memory lane but this pod is all part of the build up to the Elior Champ Final - and you’ll see all three of us are bit excited!! Where Claire and Lis discuss a remarkably busy week given Saints weren’t playing. We start with news of Saints and Lightning new contracts and a sad farewell. We talk awards for both teams which we can all watch on the telly. We do talk about the England Rugby training squad and question some choices that were and weren’t made by Steve Borthwick. But this pod is really going to be a celebration of the wonderful performance of Bedford Blues as they secured their place in the Elior Champ Final. We talk about a brilliant evening at Goldington Road where we spotted a familiar face in the match highlights video😂 We do award our Ladies Wot Pod Player of the Match. We also, talk about that match at Ealing Trailfinders where Ealing really did demonstrate why chickens should never be counted. All thanks to a farmer Saint! We talk about the two Finals in Bilbao; we talk about the fall out of Saints match against Bristol Bears; the Saints Walking Rugby league is reviewed and we of course, catch up with Dave on the sofa. Dave seems to have got out and about this week. And we look forward to a huge week of rugby - Saints continue their quest for a home semi final as they play Gloucester at the Gardens. And it will be the time when we say some goodbyes. Lightning are also at the Gardens where Lis will be on duty to present the Player of the Season. And we look forward to the biggest game ever at Goldington Road - the Final of the Elior Champ between Bedford Blues and Worcester Warriors - Claire will be representing the Ladies Wot Pod. Where Claire and Lis are so over excited they record the pod early - we celebrate one of the most remarkable wins ever seen at the Gardens. Two teams fighting for the top four in the Gallagher PREM but only one will want to remember this match. We started the week at the Gardens at training where the weather played its part and the lads were working hard. Before the game, Lis reveals she was working hard too as a Halo. Meanwhile, Claire was learning more about what people do whilst listening to the pod - apparently, we improve ironing productivity! We also received a lovely gift each from the Hendy family - Lis was swigging hers at half time whilst Claire was drinking in the car park post game - classy! We do go through every try and it does take a while. We do name our LWP Player of the Match but we have the opposite of the Sgt Wilson award - you’ll have to listen to understand. Amazingly, Dave on the sofa was busy all week - we keep you all briefed of some of the stranger things Dave has been saying. And we do reveal what Ellis Genge said to Elliot Millar Mills this time! A double therapy pod where we talk about the games in Leicester and west London. We recognise the challenges that defeats can bring particularly for family and friends. But we always find something to smile about whether it’s the mascot race, a referee with a fine tache or a player with a case of the disappearing or reappearing bandage. And when all said and done, the Saints are still top of the Prem. We do award the LWP Player of the Match. Sgt Wilson went for a day off. On other subjects, we talk about our trip to training where Saints were visited by an important guest. Claire headed off to Goldington Road to shoot this season’s Bedford Blues team photos - great fun where the girls definitely beat the boys! Where Claire and Lis talk about another busy week of rugby news - Lis has yet another title. We start with news from Saints as we had a mixture of an arrival and some departures. We celebrated a retiring Saintsman. Claire’s Facebook memories brought back a photo of the A League winners in 2017 - some familiar but very young faces! And we had news of the big golf match in Skegness. But it’s Bedford Blues who get the plaudits this week as they qualified in second place in the Champ - a home semi final beckons! Loads of news from the game. We do talk Champions and Challenge Cup and marvel at the irony of the complaints about Alfie Barbeary! We do a review of all the games including the one where we learn that a Saints player still lives in Leo Cullen’s head! Meanwhile, Dave on the Sofa was busy! And we talk Premier Sports - nuff said! Where Claire and Lis talk about another busy week of rugby news. We congratulate James Pater on his new contract. Another trip to training where we watched the lads prepare for the visit of Bath and saw the return of the nose strip on one player. We do talk about the game because strangely this has to be a therapy pod even though the Saints won a celebratory therapy pod. There’s a lot to talk about during the game - cameramen, togs being hit by players (everyone is ok!), the question of the role of the weather particularly the sun and the two ‘tries’ that were chalked off. We do have another Dave on the sofa section - he must be exhausted because he was very busy this week. And Claire has a proper rant about chickens being counted! And she also talks about the Defender Rising Stars U12s Cup which was held this weekend at the Gardens. We talk Women’s Six Nations and do a round up of Towcester U8s and U11s news. Lis talk about the results of the Saints Supporters’ Club meeting. And even though the Saints aren’t playing this weekend, there’s a huge game at Goldington Road as the Blues take on Chinnor. Where Claire and Lis talk about another busy week of rugby news. First up we had sheep news at training and news of Jim Henry’s Lemon Drizzle cake. The next round of the Gallagher PREM saw the Saints head west to Sandy Park - what we witnessed was the perfect example of the team’s resilience. We do a full review of the game which both of us attended. The weather was fabulous, there were lots of Saints supporters there including lots of the players’ parents. We have a startling revelation about that pyramid of balls. The match proved a battle royale where there were some big performances across the team. We celebrate one prop’s 50th cap and we choose our Ladies Wot Pod player of the match. We talk about Bedford Blues continued brilliant wins at the top of the Champ. And we do a quick review of the Women’s Six Nations where agains crowd records were set. No news from Towcester this week. Meanwhile, the Supporters’ Club Committee will meet with a Lemon Drizzle cake. Where Claire and Lis talk about another busy weekend of rugby. First up we do talk about the news of George Furbank’s departure to Quins - we do offer some thoughts on merchandise for George given Quins eagerness to make money from the Saints captain’s move. Two big games took place on Friday and Saturday - a Champions Cup quarter final at the Rec and the battle at the top of the Champ at Sixways. We do talk about that amazing start and brilliant attack in the first half from the Saints. We do recognise that brilliant fightback from Bath to win the game. But we also talk about the experiences of several people who attended the game and what happened with the crowd at the Rec. We ask some challenging questions about how things may have to change. We do choose our Ladies Wot Pod Player of the Match and the Sgt Wilson award, We do celebrate Bedford Blues fantastic win against Worcester Warriors. We talk about the changes that have happened at Sixways. Claire talked to several Blues supporters who were keen to share their positive views of the relationship between the Blues and the Saints. We celebrate a hat-trick in waking rugby and do a quick round up of Towcester news. And we do a round up of Women’s Six Nations news where several Lightning players shone. Finally, we look forward to the next games for our teams -the battle for the top 4 in the PREM as Saints visit Exeter and Blues look to consolidate second place in the Champ. Where Claire and Lis talk about our busy weekend of rugby. It started with training where one player talked to Lis about the passing of time and we met our new loosehead. On Friday, Saints took on a very feisty Castres in a pulsating game at the Gardens. We congratulate the travelling Castres supporters, we talk about flags and one person who was very organised. We talk about the targeting of Henry Pollock and Archie McParland and the to and fro of a fantastic game. We do wax lyrical about the performances of the players and one in particular. And we talk about the post match stuff where we learned one players loves chocolate. We do choose our Ladies Wot Pod Player of the Match and the Sgt Wilson award (with a follow up from last week). There is also a plea on behalf all Saints players’ Mums - trauma lurks in unusual places at the Gardens!! And as a result of your feedback, there’s plenty of input from Dave on his sofa…. On Saturday, we headed to Goldington Road where the Blues were playing Cornish Pirates - it was a cracking game of rugby where we saw several Saintsman and apparently one retired Saint had replaced his son! It was a weekend of Dads playing. We congratulate Will Maisey on his remarkable milestone. Finally, we look forward to the next games for our teams - it’s going to be a busy time! Where Claire and Lis talk about our exciting weekend down in that there London for Showdown VI. We talk a lot about that amazing stadium and thank the Tottenham staff who were wonderful. We talk about our media tartery and our fun at the game including the amazing half time show. We of course, talk about the game where we witnessed one Saints player play so well we have had to change his nickname (mind you we have had to call out his Dad for crossing AGAIN!). We congratulate Chunya Munga on his 50th cap. We of course, award the LWP Player of the Match and Sgt Wilson Awards. In other news, we talk Neutral games and Away Ends along with Commercial deals for a certain blonde flanker. And during the recording of pod, Tigers announced their ‘Away End’ errrrrrr…. Where Claire and Lis talk about a busy week - we started at training in the sunshine where Lis took cover and Ben Rhodes ended up in a ditch as a result. We talk about our new loosehead. We celebrate NSB’s win at HQ and we talk about all the big games that happened at the Gardens. It was Foundation weekend where we hope loads was raised through the outstanding efforts of those involved. We discuss a feisty battle with Newcastle Red Bulls where the mayhem of the breakdown in particular was discussed - and it’s something we have spotted in other games. We do choose our LWP Player of the Match and discuss what to do about the Sgt Wilson Award. And we talk commentators, food and a white t-shirt. We also, talk about the brilliant rugby being played by the Lightning women - it was a fantastic win against Harlequins and an oh so close loss to Gloucester Hartpury. Twelve of the team will be going to represent their countries in the Women’s Six Nations. Claire claims we saw the comedy yellow card for Ellie Kildunne where even the referee Joe James was laughing. And it has led to one of Claire’s Instagram posts having over 90 thousand views!! Both Claire and Lis ensure Dave on the Sofa is happy with our new campaign about sportsmen celebrating - you’ll have to listen to understand. And we have news of Towcester U8s and U111s including Harry showing off his new medal. Finally, we look forward to the next games for our teams - it’s going to be a busy time! Where Claire and Lis talk about a busy week of rugby matters. Claire started the week with a trip to Cambridge Rugby for the Saints Community Under 15 7s. Both of us were at training where a certain hooker was very over excited but was a top chap doing a good luck video. And then we were into the rugby - this is a therapy pod so we tried to provide some positivity to England, Saints and Lightning supporters. And we did congratulate our favourite Italian prop. We celebrated what an amazing rollercoaster ride we have had in the PREM Rugby Cup - we have seen some youngster and coaches blossom. For the returning internationals, we look forward to the next few weeks which going to be flipping brilliant. And we have news of Towcester U8s and U11s. Where Claire and Lis talk about a busy week where the Saints lads pulled off a remarkable win against Saracens in the PREM Rugby Cup. Where Claire and Lis offer a Double Therapy pod for all of us who love Loughborough Lightning and England Rugby - group hugs everyone! Lis is so excited about her interview we head straight into her interview with our resident shepherd, Kev Buckby. We were at training last week and saw the preparation for the PREM Rugby Cup - Claire had some photography homework which one player kindly helped with. We do talk about Saints’ latest trip to Kingston Park where Claire received some lovely Dinosaur cake, talked to our scrum coach about puddles and props and the lads delivered a great five point win. Where Lis is on her travels and does the pod from sunny Tenerife whilst Claire has just about thawed out from her efforts this weekend. The Ladies talk about Saints trip to west London where they took five points at a ground they haven’t won at since 2019. They celebrate the success of the Academy which continues to develop some very special talents. Claire talked about her second trip to Shelford to watch the Under 18s. The Ladies also celebrate some of the Saintsmen who played for their countries and we muse about a Scottish prop meeting up with Ellis Genge one more time. And we of course, had to talk about the England U20s win at the Hive Stadium. Claire’s week started with a trip to the HPC to take photos of Saints and Bedford. We do talk about the Blues trip to Castle Park and Lightning’s trip to Sandy Park. And we look forward to the next games as Saints head north to Newcastle and the Blues and Lightning have home games.
