It's been about a month since our last Friday show, and the official explanation is that Rob Horry is an old man who has to sit out back-to-backs. Episode 150, with Robert Horry, Rob Jenners and Brandon "B-Dog" Harper.

It's Halloween weekend, so we start there. Harp has wanted to go as Blade for two years and keeps putting it off. Horry stays in when he's in LA because the whole city turns into a street party. The last time he dressed up was in San Antonio, as a Grim Reaper nobody recognized.

Then your questions. Marcelo wants to know if players hear the arena music, and whether the home team gets a say. (Also, Marcelo, Hornets-Wizards tickets were cheaper than a bottle of Dasani at the game.) Q asks about the NBA putting chips in basketballs, and Rob Horry is not a fan. Craig asks if Rob ever thought about naming his son Junior. He did name his son Robert, and he'd change it if he could. The upgrade story on the school trip is a good one.

In between, we argue about Jay-Z headlining the Super Bowl and who we'd pick instead, from Drake to Morgan Wallen to the Foo Fighters. Then Horry admits he listens to country music, which was supposed to be a secret.

We finish with evil genius moments. A guy on Reddit swapped out a road sign 13 years ago so he could make a right turn. Rob Jenners tops it with the story of his old boss, a glass studio door and a pack of half-pound weights. And Horry explains what was really going through his head on the Steve Nash body check.

Got a question for Shoot Around? Send it our way.
For the first time in about a month, all three of us are in the same place. Robert Horry is back to work (and a little cranky about it), Harp is back from the casino, and Rob Jenners is off the road. Episode 282 of the Big Shot Bob Podcast.

We start with the WNBA Finals. A'ja Wilson has five MVPs, so who's her NBA comp? Then the fight: Game 6 between the Dream and the Valkyries tips at 12:30 on a weekday in Atlanta and airs on E! and SyFy. Harp says the NBA should have stepped in for its little sister. Rob says this one is on the WNBA. Rob Horry has a simpler fix, and a story about the Lakers getting rushed off the floor in Philly to celebrate a title in a back hallway.

From there: is State Farm Arena the best building in the league when Atlanta actually shows up? The Knicks sent employees a fake championship ring email as a phishing test, then handed assistant coaches empty boxes. That leads to Horry pulling out his own rings on camera and explaining why the '95 Rockets ring, from his favorite title, is the worst one he owns.

Also this week: Jalen Williams' ankle injury and why nobody needs the slow-mo replay, Kawhi's knee (again), LeBron's golf swings during the anthem, a Warriors rookie getting under Luka's skin, and the defensive rule Horry teaches kids that you will never forget. Plus the Cavs blowing two big leads, the early unbeaten and winless teams, and Harp finally turning in his playoff picks with a week of games in his back pocket.

We close with college football picks (Auburn-Ole Miss, Georgia-Florida, Northwestern-Oregon, Miami-UNC, Ohio State-USC), a fight over whether Harp gets credit for the weeks he missed, Big Shot of the Week, and a higher-or-lower game on new guys in new uniforms.

00:00 Intro: the whole crew is back

02:09 WNBA Finals and A'ja Wilson's five MVPs

03:48 Game 6 at 12:30 PM: whose fault is it?

09:41 The Hawks floor and no on-court celebration

14:59 Is State Farm the best arena in the NBA?

18:16 Darkened crowds and viral fans

20:20 Knicks ring phishing scam and empty boxes

22:27 Horry's championship rings, best to worst

29:02 Jalen Williams' injury and the replay problem

31:42 Kawhi out again with knee inflammation

34:41 LeBron's anthem golf swings and Sixers ratings

36:51 Warriors rookie vs. Luka

40:05 Horry's defense rule (and a T-shirt idea)

42:11 Cavs collapses, unbeaten and winless teams

45:19 Harp's playoff picks: East

48:24 West picks and the Lakers' big man problem

53:56 College football picks

1:03:27 Big Shot of the Week

1:04:43 Game: Welcome Back, higher or lower

NBA SEASON IS BACK!!! And the crew is... mostly back. Harp phones in from the casino floor at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River in Murphy, North Carolina, Robert Horry is squeezing us in before a flight, and Rob Jenners is just glad real basketball tips off tonight.

We start with the Lakers waiving Dalton Knecht. Robert isn't surprised, shares what his old college coach told him about Knecht's scoring, and names a couple of teams that should go get him (Denver, you need a shooter). Then it's ring night at the Garden. Robert knows the other side of that one. His first year in San Antonio, he had to sit there and watch the Spurs get rings for beating his Lakers. He also tells the story of the 1995 Rockets ring that came out looking cheap.

From there it's Steph's ankle scare, the Porzingis illness, Draymond showing up heavy, and Ben Simmons tearing his Achilles right when he looked like himself again. We also get into the NBA's memo cracking down on certain prop bets, and why the leagues' sudden moral compass is hard to take seriously when the sponsors are sportsbooks and beer companies.

In the WNBA Finals, the Atlanta Dream finally won a Finals game and Angel Reese put up some history. We talk about the viral clip of her walking off when she didn't get the ball, and Robert explains what he'd tell her and what Shaq used to do instead.

Harp had to bail once the afternoon show took over his table, so Robert and Rob lock in their East and West playoff picks without him. His are coming next week. Robert has the Wizards in the playoffs (with an asterisk), Rob has the Celtics second in the East, and we'll be holding all of it over each other until April.

We close with the college football weekend where five of the top seven teams lost, picks for Miami-Pitt, Indiana-Michigan, Tennessee-South Carolina, Texas A&M-Alabama and Ole Miss-Texas, Big Shot of the Week for Brooklyn Green, and a game called Number One With a Bullet: how many No. 1 overall picks did Robert play with?

00:00 Intro: The Crew's Back-ish

02:48 NBA Opening Night & the Lakers Waive Dalton Knecht

07:41 Opening Night Schedule & Knicks Ring Night

08:38 Sitting Through Someone Else's Ring Night

11:07 Will the Sixers Spoil the Knicks' Party?

12:22 Wednesday's Slate & the Clippers

13:51 Steph's Ankle & the Porzingis Illness

17:17 Draymond's Weight & Off-Season Conditioning

21:40 Ben Simmons' Season-Ending Achilles

23:34 The NBA's Betting Crackdown Memo

27:24 WNBA Finals: The Dream Get Their First Win

28:14 Angel Reese's Viral Walk-Off

33:54 Eastern Conference Predictions

39:21 Western Conference Predictions

45:13 College Football's Chaos Weekend

46:52 College Football Picks

53:51 Big Shot of the Week: Brooklyn Green

55:57 Game: Number One With a Bullet

1:03:03 Does Going No. 1 Even Matter?

1:05:11 Wrap-Up

Episode 280, and B-Dawg is somewhere out on the ocean on a Carnival cruise, so it's Robert Horry and Rob Jenners holding it down. Bob's calling in from Vegas, where he's working the Lakers preseason game for season ticket holders. That gets the guys talking about the new ownership, what it means to be a Lakers legend, and why Bob respects teams like the Rockets that keep bringing back the older guys who never saw the big money. (Also: Bob is never getting on a cruise ship. Jaws, the Titanic, the Poop Cruise and a 6'2" shower for a 6'9" man. Case closed.)

Walker Kessler says he's been asked to be the Lakers' defensive anchor, and Bob is not a fan of coaches handing out roles. "Your role is to win games." That turns into Luka's defense, Devin Booker shutting people up at the Olympics, and whether anybody ever had to tell Hakeem or Tim Duncan to anchor a defense. Also on the table: LeBron calling Mike Breen a liar over the Embiid practice story, Paul George's rough Celtics debut, John Collins grabbing Dillon Brooks by the throat five minutes into a preseason game, and the Knicks shutting down extension talks with KAT, Josh Hart and the rest.

The WNBA Finals are set with the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream, and the Dream are stuck playing for a title in a 3,500-seat arena. The guys go back and forth on where it should have moved (McCamish seats 8,600, for the record), whether the Angel Reese haters owe her an apology, and who wins it.

Then football. Nick Sirianni kicks it short with eight seconds left and loses in London, and the Commanders sit in field goal range and let the clock run out for a tie. Bob tells the story of an inbound play at South Alabama from his freshman year that still haunts him. He was at Georgia-Alabama with his son Nick and has thoughts on the missed PI, the targeting no-call and Kalen DeBoer's sideline moment. Kentucky walks off another one, LSU turns out to be fool's gold, and Arch Manning takes some heat.

College football picks for Ohio State-Indiana, Florida-Texas, Auburn-Georgia, Alabama-Tennessee, Mizzou-Ole Miss and Notre Dame-BYU. The Big Shot of the Week goes to Ben Miller and the neighbors who pulled a 90-year-old woman out of a pond in Champaign, Illinois. And in How About Them Underdogs, Bob goes 4 for 5. The one he misses? His own '95 Rockets.

Subscribe, hit the bell, and drop your questions for the guys in the comments.

00:00 Episode 280 and Harp's on a cruise

01:35 Why Bob will never go on a cruise

03:38 Bob in Vegas and life as a Lakers legend

07:35 Teams that take care of the old-school guys

11:58 Walker Kessler, defensive anchor?
Friday Shoot Around. Harp is somewhere recovering from a week of NLDS parties, so it's Big Shot Bob and Rob. Rob opens by telling Bob he never has to apologize for springing Allie Clifton on him Tuesday, and then it's straight into the story everybody kept asking about: Gregg Popovich marrying Mary Beth Budenholzer. Bob knows her personally, and his take is simple. Love is love, Pop needs somebody right now, and if anyone deserves a roast it's Bud.

Listener questions carry the rest. Casey asks about the viral Giants game video, the mom carrying a baby and an armful of nachos and the husband asking where the ketchup is, and whether the couple deserves the beating they're taking online. Steven wants to know why nobody believes in Buddy Hield after four teams in one year, which gets Bob talking about what it's like to be a specialist, plus Dennis Schroder and Rudy Gay. Then: which teams can't outspend their own legacy? The Mets, the Browns, the Cowboys and the Jets all get named, and Bob and Rob try to find the NBA version.

The back half goes off the rails in the best way. Rob just finished the Lanterns finale, which turns into the best and worst TV finales ever (Sopranos, Seinfeld, Fresh Prince, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, 24), Rob catching grief for watching Elsbeth, and Bob's movie pet peeve: the guy who runs right past the gun. Plus Reacher's bulletproof walk, John Wick's suit jacket and the monologuing villain.

Subscribe, turn on notifications, and drop your best and worst TV finale in the comments.

00:00 Friday Shoot Around: Harp's NLDS hangover

01:22 Pop marries Mary Beth Budenholzer

04:20 Falling for someone at work

06:10 Casey: the Giants game mom and the ketchup

10:03 Steven: does anyone believe in Buddy Hield?

12:15 Specialists who keep moving: Schroder and Rudy Gay

13:18 Teams that can't outspend their own legacy

15:29 The NBA version: Wizards, Jazz, Blazers

17:42 Lanterns and the best TV finales

20:27 Why 24 got ridiculous

21:56 Elsbeth, The Good Wife and Denny Crane

23:46 Movie pet peeves: pick up the gun

26:28 The monologuing villain

Harp is across the street working the Braves-Dodgers NLDS game, so it's Big Shot Bob and Rob this week. Rob had a surprise sitting in the waiting room, though. Allie Clifton jumps on in the middle of her walk to talk WNBA playoffs: the Dream and Angel Reese, Becky Hammon's "play like ass and only lose by 10" speech, and who actually got her MVP vote. Then she reminds Bob he never won Defensive Player of the Year, and the Ohio State vs. Alabama trash talk starts.

Bob breaks down what he liked from the Lakers' first preseason game. The ball moved, and the full-court pickup took him back to the old "wolf" trap call from his Lakers days, because basketball is like dancing and you have to mess up the other team's rhythm. Is Dalton Knecht the odd man out with all the wings L.A. brought in? Jalen Duren finally signs his five-year, $200 million deal, and Karl-Anthony Towns goes public about his extension. Bob took less money to stay with a winner three times in his career, including turning down Shaq's call to come to Miami, and he explains why his peace of mind was worth $5 million.

Also this week: LeBron's helicopter commute, Hakeem Olajuwon's son committing to SMU and what any young guard should take from the Dream's footwork, Bob still salty about getting bumped from the Macau trip, Mike McCarthy's hot mic, an NFL ref telling Trey McBride exactly how he felt, and a Gainesville call-in that got referred to university police.

College football picks: Texas A&M at Mizzou, Texas vs. Oklahoma, UCLA at Oregon, LSU at Kentucky, and Georgia at Alabama, with Bob in the building in Tuscaloosa. Big Shot of the Week goes to the plumber who helped pull a flydubai jet out of a nosedive. We close with a high-low game on what owners really paid for the Falcons, Rockets, Seahawks, Bucks, Washington and the Blazers, plus the $67 million Rockets story Bob still isn't over.

Subscribe, turn on notifications, and tell us your Georgia-Bama pick in the comments.

00:00 Harp's at the NLDS, Bob's headed to Georgia-Bama

02:27 Allie Clifton crashes the show: WNBA playoffs

04:41 WNBA MVP vote: A'ja Wilson or Kelsey Mitchell?

06:16 Lakers preseason and the old "wolf" trap

08:45 Bob's Defensive Player of the Year snub

09:27 Allie's college football trash talk

11:30 Left on Unread: Allie's rise

12:50 Dalton Knecht, Lakers trades and Jalen Duren's deal

15:36 KAT's extension standoff with the Knicks

21:09 Take less to win?
Episode 278 gets recorded with a playoff game going on about 500 feet away. The Braves and Phillies are playing the NL Wild Card at Truist Park, so B-Dawg spends the first part of the show downstairs dealing with the chaos before he finally makes it in. It's been a day, and you can see it on his face.

NBA media days gave us plenty to work with. JJ Redick had the line of the week about the Lakers' starting five, something very strange is happening behind Austin Reaves during his scrum, and Big Shot Bob explains why he never once did a radio station drop. Walker Kessler reportedly pushed his way out of Utah, Kawhi shut down questions before anybody could ask them, and Tyrese Haliburton and Kyrie Irving both say they're fully cleared. Kyrie is coming up on 600 days since his last game, and Robert wants to see him move before he makes any promises.

LeBron says the Sixers have to get comfortable being uncomfortable, which gets us to the real question: who takes a back seat in Philly? Jenners is worried about VJ Edgecombe. Robert says it's Tyrese Maxey and compares it to what happened to Darius Garland in Cleveland. Then he explains why "who's the alpha" doesn't mean much on a team that wins, using the Shaq and Kobe Lakers as proof. (He did not say he was better than Kobe. Jenners tried.)

Also this week, Jalen Duren's contract standoff and the weight clauses in Detroit's offer, which sends Robert into a story about Pat Riley's body fat tests in Miami and why he was happy to be in San Antonio. Giannis meets his first Florida iguanas. And Steph Curry says he played through blurry vision during the Warriors run. Robert isn't buying it, because teams check everything "from the rooter to the tooter." That's your episode title.

On the football side, Michael Penix drops a live "pause" in his postgame, and Iowa's student radio crew barely survives their call of the win over Michigan in the Big House. Then it's college football picks. Jenners is 3-12 on the season, so he's going full George Costanza and picking the opposite of every instinct he has, including against his own Hurricanes at Clemson. Dan Lanning, Lincoln Riley and the big buyout club all come up along the way.

Big Shot of the Week goes to Erin Howell. An 81-year-old man delivering lost airline luggage in Dallas-Fort Worth brought bags to her house, she helped him carry them in, and then she started a GoFundMe that raised $700,000 so he could stop working and pay for his wife's cancer treatment. That turns into a conversation about the healthcare system, and Robert breaks into an ad read for SureCo out of nowhere. Five and a half years into this show, that's how we found out he's the company's chief impact officer.

We wrap with Preseason Prediction Fails, looking back at how far off Vegas and the NBA GMs were last year on the Spurs, Pistons, Pacers, Knicks, Mavs, Lakers and Thunder, along with this season's numbers.

00:00 Intro: Recording During a Braves Playoff Game

01:05 Anniversaries, Gifts & Grandkids

05:04 JJ Redick's Starting Lineup Comment

07:08 Media Day Photo Shoots & Radio Drops

11:20 Walker Kessler's Exit From Utah

13:45 B-Dawg Arrives & Braves vs. Phillies

16:35 LeBron's Sixers: Who Takes a Back Seat?

24:07 Who's the Alpha? So on this week's Shoot Around, Robert Horry, Rob Jenners and Brandon "Harp" Harper go through the biggest loser moves they've seen from a coach, and Robert tells two stories we'd never heard: why he told his high school coach there was no way he was visiting Bobby Knight at Indiana, and the time Gene Keady cut him and Grant Hill from a team so he could keep a roster full of Big Ten players.

Shaq is officially an honorary FBI agent now (his advice to the graduating class was to arrest Charles Barkley), so a listener wanted to know what we'd chase if we weren't doing this. Chef, lawyer and, from Harp, marine biologist, right up until a big enough roach walks by. That leads to safaris, deep sea fishing and why at least one of us will never be that far from land again.

Then a listener sends in the Robins: Kyrie, Wade, Klay, Pippen and AD. Robert makes the case that Kobe was a Robin on the Shaq teams and Rob isn't having it. We also watch an influencer box a remote-controlled Terminator and lose badly, and go through Bleacher Report's all-overpaid team. Robert explains why Christian Braun was better off the bench, and the Embiid contract gets scarier the further out you look.

Shoot Around drops every Friday.
Detroit put five years and $200 million in front of Jalen Duren. He said no. With camps opening next week and his qualifying offer deadline sitting on October 1st, Robert Horry, Rob Jenners and Brandon "Harp" Harper try to figure out what he's waiting for. He isn't 23 yet. Both Thompson twins just signed. And if he plays out the qualifying offer and hits free agency, the math says he could end up with less. Robert explains how he'd handle it: take the money, then load the deal with playoff incentives.

Before we get there, Robert talks about how he used to get ready for training camp (ramp down the weights, ramp up the conditioning), what happens when your son turns 21 and suddenly wants to go to Vegas, and why tequila in a plastic bottle is really just rubbing alcohol. Harp had exactly one tequila Jell-O shot at The Battery this weekend, and he wants everyone to know he said no to the second one. We also get into the Braves heading to the wild card and who we like in the MLB playoffs.

Then it's the East vs. West argument. Is the gap still real? The guys go through the Pistons, Knicks, Sixers, Hawks, Wizards and a Lakers team nobody can quite read yet, which is where this week's title came from. Lisa Leslie gets her statue outside Crypto, Robert says the one that's missing is Dr. Buss, and a conversation about who Atlanta would honor next goes sideways the second Michael Vick comes up. Nicolas Batum retires, and we run a quick predictions round: Kawhi's games played in Toronto, Duren's decision, Ja Morant in Portland, the Lakers ownership mess and the East's top seed.

College football: Rob and Robert are both 2-8 on the season, and Harp is sitting at 5-5 and letting everyone hear about it. This week's games are Texas at Tennessee, Oklahoma at Georgia, Ole Miss at Florida, Texas A&M at LSU and Oregon at USC, which is going to be a split household at Robert's place. Plus NC State's end-of-game disaster against Vanderbilt, a Big Shout of the Week for a Missouri teacher who ran barefoot over broken glass to pull his neighbor out of a house fire, and a full round of Walmart or Waffle House.

00:00 Intro

01:38 NBA camps are almost here + Robert's preseason routine

04:23 Kids growing up, Vegas at 21 & grown-up drinks

08:35 One tequila Jell-O shot at The Battery

10:45 Braves in the wild card & MLB playoff picks

14:36 Jalen Duren turns down $200 million

23:48 The Thompson twins both cash in

24:57 East vs. West: is the gap still real?

28:12 Wizards, Lakers & the highest credit score in the league

30:54 Lisa Leslie's statue & who's missing outside Crypto

35:12 Who gets an Atlanta statue?
It's Friday, so Big Shot Bob and Rob Jenners are back with episode 147 of Shoot Around, the weekly grab bag show that catches everything the Tuesday show didn't get to. This week they start with the Barstool superfan who turned his Ohio State loss into a 14-hour McDonald's fundraiser for ALS, which turns into a conversation about the worst bets either of them has ever had to pay off — including the one wager that may have saved Rob and Candice's relationship.

From there it's straight into fan questions: why Derek Fisher wore his headband over his ears, what Robert Horry was actually thinking on that infamous 0.4-second shot over Tim Duncan, and the single worst relationship red flag either of them has ever heard (it involves Aaron Rodgers). Rob and B-Dawg also get honest about their own red flags, and things go sideways fast once hangover stories enter the chat.

The back half covers what team either guy would want to coach for a day after Akron let a fan call plays during a game, why managing a baseball team sounds like the most boring job in sports, and a genuinely bizarre painting from Robert Horry's playing days that's been hanging around ever since.

Catch the full Big Shot Bob Podcast every Tuesday for the real basketball talk, and come back every Friday for more of this.

00:00 Cold Open & Friday Intro

00:43 Barstool's Ohio State Guy Pays Off His McDonald's Bet

02:10 Worst Bets Ever: Rob's Texas-USC Wager for Candice

03:47 Radio Bowling Bet Goes Horribly Wrong

06:22 Fan Q&A: D-Fish's Headband and the Shot Over Duncan

08:13 Fan Q&A: Aaron Rodgers' Red Flag Story

10:27 Rob's Own Red Flags & Needing Alone Time

11:44 Drunk Flirting: The Ultimate Red Flag

13:04 Worst Hangover Stories

16:54 Fan Q&A: Akron's Fan Coach and Who They'd Want to Coach

19:39 Why Managing Baseball Is Boring

21:22 The Alabama Locker Room Painting

Robert Horry and Rob Jenners are back in the man cave for episode 276, and Big Shot Bob kicks things off recapping his surprising showing at two celebrity golf tournaments before getting into the news of the week. The Kawhi Leonard trade to the Raptors is officially done, and somehow the Clippers ended up under federal investigation on top of it — Bob and Rob break down Steve Ballmer's carefully worded statement and why Danilo Galinari isn't letting Kawhi off the hook for how his career got rerouted.

From there it's a full NBA news rundown: a big free agent's “winning culture” comments about signing with Minnesota get roasted, Jalen Duren is still holding out on a new deal in Detroit, and the guys break down what the Pistons actually have at center behind him. The NBA's Board of Governors met this week too, and expansion to Vegas and Seattle is officially on the table — Bob and B-Dawg go back and forth on whether the league needs two more teams or should just relocate one instead.

There's also a Team USA women's basketball update after their FIBA World Cup gold, a Caitlin Clark clip that has Bob fired up, a Nikola Jokic rant about being tired of his own fame, and the crew's usual struggle trying to remember old CBA rules off the top of their heads.

On the football side, the guys get into Myles Garrett's early-season injury and what it means for a Rams team that came one game short of the Super Bowl last year, plus a full slate of Week 3 college football picks headlined by LSU-Ole Miss. Then it's Big Shot of the Week, honoring the man who ran up a mountain to save a stranger's life, and a stacked round of Black Crime or White Crime to close out the show.

00:00 Cold Open & Episode Intro

00:49 Storage Room Purge & Rob's Golf Debut

04:46 Kawhi Leonard Trade to Raptors Finalized

05:29 Clippers Under Federal Investigation

06:27 Ballmer's Statement & the Fallout

09:49 Danilo Galinari Blasts Kawhi Leonard

13:23 Free Agent's “Winning Culture” Comments Spark Debate

17:45 Jalen Duren's Contract Standoff With the Pistons

22:35 Pistons Roster Breakdown at Center

24:09 NBA Board of Governors: Expansion Talk (Vegas & Seattle)

30:40 Old-School NBA Trivia: Michael Finley's Double Paycheck

32:07 Women's Hoops Roundup: FIBA Gold, Caitlin Clark, WNBA Playoffs

34:27 Kobe's “Amnesty Clause” Rabbit Hole

37:41 Nikola Jokic Says He's Done With Fans

42:17 NFL Monday: Myles Garrett's Injury and the Rams

45:01 49ers Roll the Rams: Shanahan vs. McVay

46:25 College Football Picks: Week 3 Slate

58:18 Big Shot of the Week: The Mountain Rescue Hero

59:26 Black Crime or White Crime Returns

It's Friday, which means it's time for Shoot Around. Before getting into the usual nonsense, Robert Horry, Rob, and Harp pause to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, sharing where they were that morning and how it shaped their generation the way JFK's assassination shaped their parents'.

Then it's back to business as usual: the power outage that hit the SMU-FSU game right before kickoff leads to a rundown of the worst stadiums the guys have ever played in or visited, from a swaying old Orange Bowl to a Georgia Tech campus with no Wi-Fi.

Plus, the guys react to the wild story of a man who used a fake NFL persona to scam 26 women out of over a million dollars, Robert tells a story about a former teammate who ran the same play at the club for years, and the crew debates whether ESPN putting a random fan on camera at a college football game is doing more harm than good.

It's the usual mix of laughs, hot takes, and Robert almost getting caught by his wife — Friday wouldn't be Friday without it.

00:00 Intro: It's Friday, It's Shoot Around

00:47 Remembering 9/11, 25 Years Later

06:57 FSU's Power Outage & the Worst Stadiums They've Played

13:45 The Fake NFL Player Catfishing Scandal

15:38 The Teammate Who Faked Being an NBA Player

18:09 The Viral “Hot Girl” Camera Moment Debate

21:40 DMs, Marriage, and Getting Caught in the Bit

Robert Horry, Rob, and Harp are back after a Labor Day break that somehow lined up with the biggest week in the NBA all year. The NBA came down on the Clippers hard for the Kawhi Leonard cap circumvention mess — five first-round picks, a $30 million fine for Steve Ballmer, suspensions across the front office, and a slap on the wrist for Kawhi himself. The guys break down whether this is the worst free agent signing in league history, rip apart Kawhi's tone-deaf statement from his camp, and debate what real punishment should have looked like.

From there, Charles Barkley may have let a huge secret slip on Bill Simmons' show: if Ernie Johnson steps away from Inside the NBA, so does Chuck.
It's Big Shot Bob's birthday, and the fellas are treating themselves to a full plate of NBA offseason news before diving into some early football talk. Robert Horry turns 56 and gets the royal treatment from Rob and Harp right out of the gate, then the crew steps around the Enes Kanter WNBA drama entirely (on purpose) and gets into real basketball: the Wemby-Jokic showdown at the FIBA World Cup, James Harden's new deal pushing him toward the $500 million club, and whether a ring even matters at this point in his career.

From there it's a run through NBA free agency - Klay Thompson heading to Miami and immediately getting into it with people on Instagram, DeMar DeRozan's veteran-minimum move to Denver, and the five-team trade that sent Peyton Watson to Cleveland and Dennis Schroder to yet another team. Rob and Harp also break down ESPN's early East and West power rankings and argue about where Houston, Denver and the Hawks really stand heading into the season.

Football gets its turn too. Deshaun Watson is Cleveland's Week 1 starter, but he's not exactly getting a warm welcome from Browns fans - the guys dig into why, and Robert shares what it's like handling a hostile crowd as a pro. The guys kick things off with NBA 2K27 dropping soon and try to guess the top 10 rated players in the game before it releases, and let's just say a couple of MVP-caliber names slip right past them.

From there they run through which teams landed the most nationally televised games this season (four teams are tied at the top) and which teams barely made the schedule at all, before diving into the Jayden Daniels and LSU jersey number situation and what it says about how seriously players protect their old college numbers.

There's a fun detour into jersey number stories from Rob's own career, the week's audio clip of the year courtesy of a very unfiltered local newscast, and a time capsule dig through a 1997 TNT clip covering the trade that sent Rob from Phoenix to LA.

They close things out with a fan question about NBA Jam duos, which sends the whole crew down a rabbit hole of arcade nostalgia, from Mortal Kombat to Cruisin' USA.

00:00 Cold Open: It's Friday, 2K27 Is Almost Here

00:48 Guessing the NBA 2K27 Top 10 Rated Players

04:58 Guessing the Most (and Least) Nationally Televised Teams

07:39 Jayden Daniels vs. LSU Over His Retired Number

08:27 Jersey Number Pride: Steve Blake, Michael Irvin & More

13:09 Audio of the Week: Good Day Detroit's Beaver Segment

15:33 Time Capsule: The 1997 Towel Trade to the Lakers

18:07 Fan Question: Who Beats Rob and Dream in NBA Jam?

22:39 Favorite Arcade Games From Back in the Day

The crew's back together after a week off, and it takes about five minutes before anyone actually mentions basketball. Bob's fresh off a trip to San Antonio (river walk, wine, a very serious debate about mashed potatoes), and once the guys settle in, they get to the real news.

The big story is the Lakers sale, or more accurately, the Lakers sale that might not be happening. Jeanie Buss is reportedly refusing to hand over her remaining stake to Bob Iger's group, and the guys dig into why she's digging in, who could realistically help her buy out her siblings, and whether Vanessa Bryant factors into any of it.

From there it's a full lap around the league. There's an update on where the Clippers salary cap investigation stands, Russell Westbrook calling it a career after 18 seasons, and a debate over which stars from the 2000s draft classes have the most left in the tank. Horry also gets something off his chest about the 2026 Hall of Fame class, and he's not shy about who he thinks got left out.

The back half is schedule season. The guys break down the best revenge games on the 2026-27 slate, argue about whether Philly got handed a cupcake schedule, and run through the week's roster news, including Bradley Beal to the Clippers, jersey retirements for Kevin Garnett and Diana Taurasi, and Dennis Schroder quietly climbing the all-time journeyman list.

Then it's game time. Bob pulls the fresh Forbes franchise valuations and puts Rob and Harp through a full round of guessing which team is worth more, running across the NBA, NFL and MLB, with a few results that catch everybody off guard.

00:00 Cold Open: Water Temps, Steak Orders & Asparagus Chaos

05:49 Lakers Ownership Drama: Jeanie Buss Won't Sell

09:20 Who Could Help Jeanie Buy Out Her Family?

15:29 Clippers Cap Case Update & Forbes Valuations Teased

20:48 Russell Westbrook Retires After 18 Seasons

24:02 Ranking the Last 2000s Stars Still Playing

26:09 Paul George's Health and Longevity

27:25 Horry Snubbed Again: Breaking Down the 2026 HOF Class

33:41 Reviving the Campaign to Get Horry In

35:51 2026 Schedule's Best Revenge Games

38:20 Is Philly's Schedule Too Easy This Year?

43:17 Quick Hits: Beal Signs, KG & Taurasi Retire, Schroder Traded

45:15 Big Shot of the Week: Teen's 3D-Printed Wheelchair

46:51 Buy My Team: Knicks-Clippers & Cowboys-Patriots

48:13 Buy My Team: Mets-Braves & Bulls-Heat

49:35 Buy My Team: Falcons-Panthers & Dodgers-Yankees

51:55 Buy My Team: Hawks-Cavs, Eagles-Giants & Rays-Marlins

55:33 Buy My Team: Chiefs-Ravens Finale

57:02 Wrap-Up: Football Season and Picks Are Coming Back

It's just the two of them this week — Harp's off in San Antonio, so Robert Horry and Rob Jenners are running the show solo, old-school style. No Shoot Around this Friday either, so they're packing everything into one episode.

They start with the good stuff: the NBA dropped a taste of the schedule, and the Christmas Day slate is loaded — Spurs-Knicks, Heat-Celtics, Sixers-Lakers (hello LeBron revenge tour), Thunder-Wolves, and Nuggets-Warriors closing it out. Bob and Rob debate whether Denver deserved the marquee spot over Dallas, and that turns into a bigger conversation about how much longer Jokic and Steph stick around their current teams — and why neither of them should ever, ever run for office.

From there it's opening week previews, a Pistons discussion that gets real about the Jalen Duren contract standoff, and Bob's old war stories about guys faking injuries to force a new deal.

Then the Kawhi Leonard stuff. Another secret endorsement deal surfaced this week — this time with Daktronics — and the guys walk through it, plus the resurfaced details from the Lakers' 2019 free agency pitch that the league is now investigating. They get into whether the Clippers star actually suits up this season and what it means if the NBA lets this slide.

Also on deck: Dillon Brooks cashing in with a $73 million extension from the Spurs, Wemby flying the whole Spurs roster to Paris for a mini training camp, and Robert's take on a young guy trying to "lead" without doing anything out of the ordinary.

VJ Edgecombe getting FaceTimed by LeBron leads Bob into one of his own stories from his playing days, and then Scottie Pippen's blunt comments about Zion Williamson's discipline get the full breakdown — including Bob's offer to personally get Zion in shape.

They pay respects to the late, great Don Nelson, run back Adam Vinatieri's surprisingly filthy Hall of Fame speech, and there's a QVC clip that has to be heard to be believed.

Big Shot of the Week goes to a Virginia man who donated a kidney to a stranger and wore his Santa hat into surgery to do it.

And to close it out — since it's just the two of them — they finally play 82 and 0 on the show for the first time, drafting all-time rosters and trying (and mostly failing) to go undefeated.

00:00 Kickoff: Just Rob and Rob This Week

01:34 Christmas Day Slate Revealed

02:34 Jokic, Steph and the Nuggets-Warriors Debate

07:05 NBA Opening Week Schedule

08:04 Pistons Outlook and the Jalen Duren Standoff

10:34 Old-School Contract Holdout Stories

12:34 Setting Up 82 and 0

14:11 Kawhi's Latest Secret Endorsement Deal

15:34 The 2019 Clippers Free Agency Allegations

20:34 Will Kawhi Suit Up This Season?

22:34 Dillon Brooks Cashes In

24:34 Wemby's Paris Minicamp

27:05 VJ Edgecombe's LeBron FaceTime Story

29:34 Scottie Pippen Sounds Off on Zion

37:34 Remembering Don Nelson

39:30 Vinatieri's Hall of Fame Roast

40:55 QVC Wig Clip of the Week

42:32 Big Shot of the Week: Dave Bell

43:36 Playing 82 and 0

53:03 TV Talk and Sign-Off

It's mailbag Friday on the Shoot Around, and the guys open things up with a tribute nobody asked for — Motown legend Martha Reeves', uh, memorable national anthem ahead of the Women's Pro Baseball League's inaugural weekend. Rob Horry and Rob Jenners can't decide if it's sweet or a bad omen, and Brandon Harper is just trying to be respectful about it.

From there it's straight into the questions. First up: ranking LeBron, KD, and Steph heading into next season, which turns into a real debate about workload, teammates, and who's actually going to be asked to do the most. Then things get weird with Harrison Bader, whose scooter reportedly found the back of a San Francisco Fire Department truck at 1:50 in the morning — Rob Horry breaks down why he's never dealt with a teammate like that on a championship roster.

The mailbag also digs into a college eligibility loophole letting a former Pitt running back explore a return to school after getting cut by the Bills, with NIL money very much part of the conversation. And to close it out, the crew finally weighs in on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including the Tom Holland vs. Tobey Maguire vs. Andrew Garfield debate that never really goes away.

🏀 Catch the full conversation every Tuesday on the main Big Shot Bob Podcast feed, with Shoot Around dropping every Friday right here.

00:00 Cold Open

00:18 Welcome to the Shoot Around — Socials and How to Reach the Show

00:47 Martha Reeves' National Anthem for the Women's Pro Baseball League

02:30 The Guys React to the Anthem

04:04 Mailbag: Ranking LeBron, KD, and Steph Heading Into Next Season

10:34 Harrison Bader's Scooter-vs-Firetruck Injury

11:38 Locker Room Stories — Any Accident-Prone Teammates?

12:50 Mailbag: The College Eligibility Loophole Story

15:10 NIL Money and Whether the Loophole Should Exist

17:03 Mailbag: Thoughts on Spider-Man: Brand New Day

18:01 Is Tom Holland the Best Spider-Man?

Robert Horry is broadcasting this week's show from Reykjavik, Iceland, where he's running a basketball camp — and naturally, that means a special edition of Where in the World Is Robert Horry before the guys even get to basketball talk. Big Shot Bob and Rob Jenners hold things down while B-Dawg keeps him honest on the Iceland details (yes, it really is closer to England than you'd think).

Once the travel talk wraps, the crew dives into a loaded NBA news week. The Dodgers' trade for Tarik Skubal has LA fans wondering if the Lakers can pull off something similar, but Rob Horry isn't buying a big splash — the roster's full and the pool to jump in is more kiddie-sized than Olympic. From there it's Klay Thompson trade buzz, with reports connecting him back to Los Angeles or Miami, and a real conversation about what he'd actually bring to a team defensively at this stage of his career.

The extension talk gets serious with Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, and Karl-Anthony Towns all eligible for new deals — and the guys dig into whether AD's injury history and KAT's apron situation in New York make those moves less likely than people think. That leads into the biggest storyline of the week: is it actually time for Golden State to consider life after Steph? Horry and Harper break down the Warriors' rough draft history since 2012, why Jonathan Kuminga still doesn't have a landing spot, and what a real Steph Curry trade market might even look like.

Plus: the Kawhi Leonard investigation drags into 2027, Victor Wembanyama gets his own signature Nike shoe, Chris Bosh reveals a scary health scare from earlier this year, Kelsey Plum gets traded to the Phoenix Mercury, and Kendrick Perkins' top-5-in-the-East list gets torched. All that, a big shout to a teenage lifeguard hero, and Robert Horry defending his Where in the World title from six thousand miles away.

🏀 New episodes of Big Shot Bob every Tuesday, with Shoot Around dropping Fridays.

00:00 Cold Open

01:02 Live From Iceland — Setting the Scene

01:15 Robert Horry's Basketball Camp in Reykjavik

04:25 Iceland Travel Talk and Culture Shock

06:50 Dodgers' Skubal Trade Sparks Lakers Pressure

07:54 Lakers' Roster Crunch — No More Splash Moves

09:53 Klay Thompson Free Agency Buzz

14:04 Extension Watch: Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns

18:11 Is It Time for the Warriors to Move On From Steph?

23:47 Golden State's Draft History Under the Microscope

25:13 Kuminga's Murky Market Value

30:26 Kawhi Leonard Investigation Drags On

33:13 Wemby Lands His Nike Signature Shoe Deal

38:59 Quick Hits: Naji Marshall's Deal and Chris Bosh's Health Scare

40:18 Kelsey Plum Trade Shakes Up the WNBA

40:56 Perk's Controversial Top-5-in-the-East List

44:30 Big Shout of the Week: Lifeguard Ryder Williams

45:25 Where in the World Is Robert Horry?
