HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH? Enough money. Enough success. Enough stuff to finally feel secure, happy, satisfied... We spend so much of our lives chasing the "good life". But what if we've been looking for it in all the wrong places? This Sunday, in our series based on the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus asks a surprisingly personal question in Matthew, chapter 6, verses 19-24: What has captured your heart? And His answer might just change what you're living for. Join us on Sundays. Bring your questions. Come as you are! 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
WHAT IF the good life isn’t something you have to prove? In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus turns our attention away from appearances and toward the hidden places of our lives; how we give, how we pray, and how we seek God when no one else is watching. Because some of the most important things in us are formed in secret. This Sunday, we explore Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 6 to stop performing for the approval of others and discover the freedom of living before a Father who already sees us! Join us as we continue through the Sermon on the Mount and discover the good life that doesn’t need an audience! Sundays 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
What does it look like to reflect God's character when life gets difficult? In this message from our Picture This series, we explore Jesus' challenging teachings in Matthew 5 about speaking truthfully, responding to hurt without retaliation, and loving our enemies. Discover how following Jesus transforms our words, actions, and hearts so that others can see our Heavenly Father's love through us. You'll be challenged to think of the difficult people in your own life and take practical steps toward greater integrity, forgiveness, and love - even when it's hard. Because the clearest picture of Jesus isn't just what we believe, but how we treat others when it matters most!
YEP, WE'RE GOING THERE... because Jesus went there first. What if the good life isn’t getting everything you want, but instead becoming someone who knows how to truly love? This Sunday, we’re looking at one of Jesus’ most challenging teachings about anger, relationships, sex, desire, and faithfulness. All from his most famous sermon in Matthew 5:21-32. Whether you follow Jesus, aren’t sure what you believe, or wonder why Jesus should have any say over such personal parts of our lives, you’re invited to come wrestle with the question: Could Jesus actually know something about the good life that we don’t? Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95521
Conversations that go beyond Sunday
CAN LIGHT STILL SHINE in the darkest places? What happens to faith when everything is stripped away? This Sunday, we’re honored to welcome author Jeff Woodke, who will share his extraordinary story of more than six years in captivity - and what he discovered about faith, forgiveness, hope, and Jesus in the darkest of places. It's no coincidence either that Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount starting in Matthew 5, encourages us with this truth; “You are the light of the world.” With Jeff's story in view, we continue our new series Picture This: A Vision of the Good Life - unpacking what it means to be the "salt of the earth" and the "light of world"... What a powerful morning together! 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
WHAT IF you don’t have to wait for your life to get better before you can be #blessed? We’re constantly told the good life is just one more achievement, purchase, relationship, or life change away. But Jesus painted a radically different picture; one that included the grieving, the struggling, the overlooked, and the people running on empty. What if the good life is closer than you think? Join us this Sunday as we begin our new sermon series Picture This: A Vision of the Good Life with one of Jesus’ most surprising teachings! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
Caleb Goss shares with us about waiting on God!
THAT FEELING WHEN you finally leap into the unknown - take that big risk - muster up that step of faith - there's nothing like it! What would you do if fear wasn’t holding you back? Maybe there’s something in your life you wish you could finally break free from, or something ahead that feels too big, uncertain, or even impossible. This Sunday, we’re talking about freedom and faith : the freedom Jesus offers us from the things that keep us stuck, and the courage to trust God with what comes next. Following Jesus isn’t meant to be a life controlled by fear, weighed down by the past, or limited to what we can accomplish on our own. It’s an invitation to live free and trust boldly - believing that healing is possible, change can happen, and no situation is beyond God’s reach. What do you need freedom FROM, and what are you ready to trust God FOR? Let's bring our faith-filled requests to a God WHO CAN DO ANYTHING! Sundays 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
Most of us know what it feels like to walk into a room and wonder, “Do I belong here?” We want to be welcomed without pretending, known without being judged, and loved when life is messy. This Sunday, we’re continuing our vision series, talking about the kind of WELCOME and COMPASSION that God has expressed from the beginning and that Jesus offered to people who often felt like outsiders. Again and again, God moves toward the overlooked, the hurting, the skeptical, and the imperfect - and makes room for them. Maybe you’re not sure what you believe about God or church yet. Maybe you’ve wondered if there’s really a place for someone like you. Come as you are. You might discover that God’s love can show up for you in more ways than you ever imagined! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
EVERYONE IS A LEADER...because everyone influences someone. So, what makes a person worth following? We all have influence; at work, at home, with friends, in our communities... And the way we use that influence matters. This Sunday, we’re looking at the surprisingly humble way Jesus led, and what his example might have to teach all of us about leadership, relationships, and becoming the kind of people we want to be. This is one of our core values at Branches: We lead with humility because that’s how Jesus led us. Jesus led through humility; lifting others up, sharing responsibility, washing feet, and serving with love. Come discover what His kind of leadership could look like in your life. Come join the conversation. You’re welcome here!
WHO ARE WE? Who are we... like, as a church? Before we're "attenders" or "volunteers", before we're leaders, before we're serving or giving... Here's the main thing; we're a people deeply loved by Jesus. ALL of us! This Sunday we're launching a brand-new series, We Are the Branches , and we'll kick things off with our first and greatest value: staying connected to Jesus. Because everything God wants to do through us begins with what He's already doing IN us! 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 9552
Can people really change? Most of us have someone we've quietly written off. Someone we think is too far gone - maybe it's even ourselves. This Sunday, Josh Leong continues our journey through Jonah (Part 4!) as an entire city does the unthinkable; they repent and respond to divine grace! Their story reminds us that no one is beyond God's mercy, no one is beyond a second chance, and no one is beyond hope. Come discover why God's grace has always been bigger than we imagine! Ever feel like life is swallowing you whole? Jonah literally was. From the belly of a great fish, Jonah prays one of the most desperate and imperfect prayers in the Bible. And God answers. This Sunday we'll discover that God isn't waiting for perfect people with perfect prayers. He meets people at rock bottom with bottomless patience and limitless power. No matter where you find yourself these days, there's hope beneath the waves! Sunday 9 & 10:30AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
HAVE YOU EVER ignored that little voice telling you that something in your life needed to change? Maybe everything even seemed to be going fine - until it wasn't. What if some of the biggest storms we face aren't meant to destroy us, but to wake us up? This Sunday at Branches, we're continuing our brand new series called Love That Won't Let Go with a fresh, dramatic retelling of Jonah's story. It's called a "first-person sermon" where Pastor Justin will tell the story as Jonah himself! It's a story about running, regret, second chances, and a God who refuses to give up on people...even when they've given up on themselves. Join us and discover why this ancient story still speaks so powerfully today! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
HAVE YOU EVER known exactly what you should do - and done the opposite? Whether it's avoiding a difficult conversation, putting off something important, or resisting a step you know God is calling you to take, we've all experienced the tension between doing the right thing or running away from it. This Sunday we begin a brand-new series through the book of Jonah called Love That Won't Let Go . Together we'll discover that Jonah's story isn't ultimately about a great fish; it's about a great God whose love relentlessly pursues people... even when they run. Join us as we explore how God's grace meets us in our fear, our resistance, and our wandering, reminding us that no matter how far we run, His love never lets go! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
EVERYONE is looking for three things: - A new beginning - A place to belong - A purpose worth living for This Sunday we'll see how those deepest longings are answered. After all we've learned in the "Faith Foundations" series about Jesus, belief, prayer, and God's guidance, we're asking one final question: "Now what?" What's the end-game here? What's the goal in all this? How do we experience new beginnings, belonging, and purpose in life? Join us as we wrap up this series and get prepared for all that's ahead! Sunday 9 & 10:30AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95521
Father's Day is a day of mixed emotions. For some, it's a day of gratitude. For others, it's a reminder of loss, disappointment, absence, or pain. The Bible never assumes that every earthly father perfectly reflects God's heart, but we’re told that God can truly be the best father we could ever hope for. This Sunday, we tackle the questions; “How do I make the most of the rest of my life?” “How do I respond to the father-heart of God with my life”? “How do I live in response to God’s grace as I’m discovering it?” We'll be inspired by the fact that making the most of your life truly starts by coming home to the Father's heart and living from His love. Because the rest of your life changes when you discover who God really is; not merely a judge, not merely a creator, but a loving Father who runs toward His children! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
Did you know that I (Justin) never thought I'd EVER be a pastor? It wasn't on my radar because for 20 years, I was rockin' out with my band, and touring the world! And the idea of planting and pastoring a church was the furthest thing from my mind... Isn't life a wild ride of twists and turns - uncertainty around every corner? No one has a crystal ball, no one can tell the future, and that gives most of us a lot of anxiety! Thankfully, our Creator designed us to put our trust in His direction for our lives. He's able to guide us into the life we've been searching for all along. He actually does have a plan - and can even redeem and restore our missteps, detours, and setbacks. This Sunday, I'm excited about leading us through a prayerful experience with Psalm 23. We'll discover the rest and peace that comes from not trying to figure out our next move, but instead following a "Good Shepherd"! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
WHAT'S UP with the Bible? Maybe you’ve wondered that before. Is it outdated? Is it actually trustworthy? Is it just a religious rulebook? Or could it be something more - and how would I find that out? This Sunday at Branches, we’ll zoom out, get 'meta' for a second; taking an honest look at one of the most influential books in human history, and why millions of people still believe God speaks through it today. If you’ve never opened a Bible and have big questions about faith, this is a space to explore without pressure. And if you've been around church for a while and wondered how you can get the most out of your Bible; experiencing the big idea as the author intended - you don't want to miss this Sunday! Come discover why the Bible might be less about rules and more about a relationship with the God who wants to be known! Sunday 9 & 10:30 AM // 70 Stephens Ln. Bayside, CA 95524
