Men After God is a Christian podcast for men who want to lead well at home, at work, and in their own hearts. It's for husbands and fathers who work hard, go to church, and still feel like nobody ever showed them how to lead the people they love. Three hosts bring plain, Bible-grounded conversation on God, marriage, fatherhood, work, and brotherhood, with one thing you can put into practice this week. Don't be a perfect man. Be a pursuing man. WHO IT'S FOR The man who loves his family and wants to lead them better. The dad who snapped at his kids again and wants to know why. The husband who keeps fixing problems when his wife needs him to listen. The guy with plenty of acquaintances and nobody to call when it falls apart. The pastor or men's ministry leader looking for something honest to hand the men in his church. HOW IT WORKS Each host records on his own, so every episode goes deep on one idea from one man's lane instead of skimming ten. Every so often all three sit down together. No hype and no performance, just men telling the truth about where they are and pointing other men back to Christ. MEET THE HOSTS Adrian Ferrari: Wisdom and Daily Discipline Adrian pastors a church, planted churches before that, and served as a missionary in Argentina. He teaches straight through the text, verse by verse, most often in Proverbs: integrity, self-control, the tongue, humility at home, and the slow drift that takes a man down long before anyone notices. Luke Sorensen: Inner Healing and Relational Repair Luke is an emotional intelligence coach and has co-hosted since season two. He brings a coach's language to the things men carry and rarely say out loud: shame and identity, grief and trauma, forgiveness, boundaries, apology, and rebuilding trust after it breaks. Then he puts Scripture underneath it. Dustin Alley: Leading Yourself, Your Home, and Your Men Dr. Dustin Alley is a Marine Corps veteran, a pastor, and the author of Becoming a Man After God. He teaches the disciplines that hold when nobody is watching, what a wife and children need from a man, and how to go from having friends to having brothers. He also speaks to pastors and church leaders rebuilding their men's ministry. WHAT YOU'LL HEAR Christian marriage: listening, conflict, humility, and loving your wife well Christian fatherhood: being present, handling anger, and passing down something better than you were handed Faith and work: integrity, discipline, and the stewardship of your time Men's emotional and mental health from a biblical view: shame, grief, loneliness, and burnout Brotherhood and discipleship: real friendship between men, mentoring, and men's ministry Bible study for men: Proverbs and practical wisdom for ordinary days WHERE TO START Why Men Feel Alone (Even at Church) Breaking the Lies Men Believe: Shame, Identity, and Freedom in Christ Real Strength Is Self-Control: What Proverbs 15 Teaches Christian Men About Their Words Follow the show so the next one lands in your feed. Season 3, Episode 1 Men After God is back with its first new episode since April, and Adrian Ferrari puts a loaded question to all three hosts: if we are not the best fathers, husbands, or Christians, why are we even qualified to speak? Dustin Alley, Luke Sorensen and Adrian answer it from what they have been through, and lay out what changes this time: each man in his own lane, a couple of episodes a week, and less of a script. Three takeaways: 1. Get connected outside the room. Luke's men's ministry has about 40 men engaged in its activities and several hundred men of the church who aren't, so he is moving away from event men's ministry. His rule of 33: one man ahead of you who can mentor you, one beside you who holds you accountable, and one you pour into. 2. Ask the question under the question. At a young pastor's ordination, Adrian asked who was investing in him, then pushed further: what has he told you that you didn't like to hear, and how did you handle it? 3. Where you have failed and grieved is where you can help. Adrian's backslide and the loss of his father are what let him sit across from a man in the same place. In his words, "the only person that's been able to walk with us and take us there is the Lord." Are you tired of "cookie-cutter Christianity"? Many Christian men feel exhausted and guilty, trying to squeeze their life into a rigid spiritual system that wasnโt designed for their wiredness or current season of life. In this powerful transition episode, Dr. Dustin Alley and Luke Sorensen address the dangerous distinction between a rigid "system" and a customizable "framework." Using examples from bad marriage counseling to the ideal time for devotions, they explore how to stop copying other people's spiritual habits and start following Jesus as the man God uniquely made you to be. If deepen your relationship with Jesus is your foundation, this framework provides the architectural necessary to hold up the other essential areas of your life. We introduce the five areas every Christian man must schedule into his weekโand if you can't find room for these five, you are overbooked. In this episode, we break down: The "Perfectly Normal" Trap: Celebrated 4,000 downloads and a humbling anecdote from an Easter lunch that confronted Dustin's pride. System vs. Framework: Why cookie-cutter approaches fail under pressure, and how to find freedom in a customizable Biblical framework. A philosophical Friday night text: Dustin dives deep on why we must learn to live from the love of Jesus rather than pursuing it. Lukeโs Struggles: Why developing self and delivering value are easy for him, but devoting time to family and "doing nothing" requires intense intentionality. The Permission Slip: Giving you permission to obey the Holy Spiritโs promptings, even when your season of obedience looks different from the man in the pew next to you. The 5-Pillar Framework Identified: We define the five pillars you need to maintain balance, authority, and peace: Deepen your relationship with Jesus (The Foundation) Devote time to your family Develop yourself Deliver value to others Do nothing for Jesus (The essential "brain glitch" statement on Sabbath and Rest). Episode Description In this episode of the Men After God podcast, Dustin Alley and Luke Sorensen continue Season 2 by exploring what it means to have a heart that is truly set on God. Building from Chapter Two of Becoming a Man After God , they introduce the idea of โheart setโ versus mindsetโarguing that while the mind may be easier to manage, the heart is what ultimately shapes who we become. Through the life of George Mรผller, Dustin and Luke examine what surrender looks like in real life, especially when obedience requires stepping away from what is safe, expected, or culturally approved. They discuss faith as an action, not just a belief, and wrestle honestly with the tension between trusting God and trying to meet your own needs. The conversation challenges men to stop living on autopilot, stop blaming circumstances or counsel for inaction, and instead live with a heart fully surrendered to Godโs leading. The episode closes with a strong call to personal responsibility, cheerful obedience, and giving God not just your behaviorโbut your heart. In this powerful episode of the Men After God podcast, host Luke Sorensen challenges the popular cultural mantra that โyou are enough.โ Luke reminds listeners that true strength and identity are not found in self-confidence, but in Christ-dependence . Through honest conversation and Scripture-centered teaching, he explores why acknowledging our insufficiency is the first step toward spiritual maturity. Luke reveals how God uses weakness to shape character, deepen faith, and draw men closer to Himself. He also offers practical reflection questions to help listeners identify areas where theyโve been relying on self rather than on the Savior.
