Your 20s weren't supposed to feel this disorienting, but half the beliefs driving your decisions aren't even yours. The Twenties Detox is a podcast and blog for women in their 20s ready to stop absorbing and start questioning. We unpack the mindsets and myths keeping you stuck and replace them with a life built around your own rhythms, not someone else's timeline. Growth isn't constant. Some seasons are for building, some for rest, some for starting over. If you're between who you were told to be and who you're becoming, you're in the right place. - Bianca

This week, I wanted to get a little more real with you. It might leave me with a bit of a vulnerability hangover, but I'm tired of seeing so many people share the highlights of their lives without talking about the realities of an ordinary Monday. So, this week, I'm here to de-influence you. I'm sharing some of the things I'm still struggling with, along with a look at a lifestyle that might not fit the traditional influencer or content creator mould. My hope is that this video helps us connect a little more deeply and reminds you that you're not alone in figuring things out. You don't have to have a perfectly curated life to be doing just fine. 🩵 ======================== in this episode: 00:00 introduction 02:13 my extremely minimal self-maintenance routine 05:27 relationships are tough & confusing for me 07:07 my hyper-independence, female rage & feeling like a burden 10:47 marriage is not on my mind at all 12:50 I am a recovering workaholic 15:10 hard truth about being entrepreneurial 17:15 journaling is sooooo hard for me 19:11 I still struggle with body image 20:40 final thoughts ===== =================== How to support me (so I can keep posting!): Get my seasonal workbook: A 4-part workbook you can use every year to plan your goals in alignment with nature’s seasons. https://www.thetwentiesdetox.com/align-with-the-seasons-guide ======================== More resources: The Twenties Detox Newsletter (free!!) https://www.thetwentiesdetox.com/newsletter
Autumn is almost always at the top of the list when I ask people where I live what their favourite season is. And honestly, I understand why. Ontario in the fall is breathtaking. But ironically, it’s also the season when I hear the most friends, strangers, and loved ones talk about melancholy, lower energy, and that familiar urge to escape the earlier darkness. We try to romanticize it by buying new clothes, makeup, candles, and things for our homes. Yet sometimes, beneath all of it, there’s still a hollowness. One reason may be that we’re trying to perform autumn instead of actually assimilating to the season. In this episode, we’re exploring affordable, meaningful ways to meet the seasonal shift where it is. We’ll talk about romanticizing darker evenings and rewiring them with coziness, releasing 2026 baggage through cord-cutting meditations, and easing back into playful inner-child energy without breaking the bank. Consider this your invitation to make the darker months feel softer, warmer, and more intentional, not through more stuff, but through rituals that help you feel at home in this season. ======================== in this episode: 00:00 Introduction to autumn rituals and their importance 02:33 #1 : romanticizing the darker evenings 03:35 making candles & mood lighting! 08:00 activities that don't need daylight 09:19 re-wiring darkness with coziness 18:12 #3 Letting go through cord cutting meditations 23:28 #4 Reconnecting with joy and inner child activities 25:05 preparing for a whimsical winter 27:25 romanticizing without over-consumerism 29:08 final thoughts ===== =================== How to support me (so I can keep posting!): 1. Grief is one of those things that changes shape all the time. In this episode, I’m sharing the lessons I’ve learned while navigating loss, from grieving my Poppa and my great-aunt Reena to losing a friend unexpectedly when I was 20. I used to feel ashamed of how deeply I could grieve someone I had not known for years. I fall in love fast, I care deeply, and I used to wonder if I was allowed to feel that much sadness. But grief is not measured by a timeline. It is measured by the love that existed there. We are talking about why you do not need to justify your grief, what it means when people say grief is love with nowhere to go, and how their love can still live on through the life I’m building. This is a gentle episode for anyone missing someone, carrying an old loss into a new season, or learning that healing does not mean forgetting. It means finding a way to let love continue. ======================== in this episode: 0:00 introduction 1:10 disclaimer 2:52 two themes for unresolved grief 3:52 finding the 'healthy' balance to grieve is unique. 4:21 the 'stages of grief' is a lie 5:38 avoiding vs. dwelling: finding your balance 8:30 the 30-minute practice for processing big emotions 11:55 you are not your grief: stepping into observer mode 15:35 growing around grief instead of trying to erase it 17:18 the '1883' tv show lesson that reframes loss 21:04 turning grief into purpose and forward motion 25:53 closing thoughts for the season ahead ===== =================== How to support me (so I can keep posting!): 1. Autumn isn’t asking us to stop, it’s asking us to listen. Turn inward, and reflect. In this episode, I’m sharing two of the biggest lessons autumn can teach us about living with more intention, softness, and sustainable growth. First, we’ll explore the balance between doing and being . Just like some trees have already turned vibrant and are ready to let go, while others still have a little more growing to do, not every goal in our lives needs to be at the same stage. We’ll talk about celebrating what has reached maturity, releasing what is complete, and continuing to tend to the things that still feel aligned...without falling into the cycle of hustle, burnout, and starting over. Then, we’ll talk about making peace with your shadows . As the days become darker, autumn naturally invites us inward. Instead of being ashamed of the parts of ourselves we hide, resist, or wish away, we can begin to see them as protective parts that once helped keep us safe. This is your reminder that slowing down does not mean falling behind. It can be the very thing that helps you return to yourself, build a stronger foundation, and enter your next season with more clarity and resilience. 🩵 ======================== 00:00 introduction 01:45 power of seasonal living 04:12 internal vs external seasons 06:20 autumn transition: between 'doing' and 'being' 06:20 autumn feels: cozy, warmth, slowing down 07:44 the balance between 'doing' and 'being' 09:15 slower seasons ALLOW for continuous growth. 12:34 darker evenings: illuminating shadows 13:42 why do we have shadows? 15:43 the interconnectedness of light and darkness 17:03 resistance to autumn & slower seasons 18:08 final thoughts, workbook + newsletter ======================== How to support me (so I can keep posting!): 1. As the days get shorter and the shadows outside become a little more visible, autumn invites us to look inward, too. There’s something about this season that naturally brings our own shadows to the surface: the parts of ourselves we might avoid, the mistakes we still carry, and the feeling that we should be further along than we are. In this episode, we’re talking about the feeling of not being enough , learning to forgive ourselves for the things we wish we had done differently, and accepting ourselves for where we are right now, even when it isn’t where we ultimately want to be. Because when we’re constantly living in the past or reaching toward the future, we miss the only place where we can actually create change: the present moment. Think of this as your autumn reminder to slow down, meet yourself where you are, and make a little more peace with the person you’re becoming. 🩵 ======================== in this episode: 0:00 introduction 1:39 meet haku 2:03 a heavier theme of autumn... 4:29 these thoughts are not productive. 7:03 how to forgive ourselves (guilt vs shame) 9:56 how I forgave my reactivity 11:27 autumn season unlocks your shadows 13:12 how to accept ourselves for where we are right now 17:42 you're not giving yourself enough credit 20:08 recap 21:21 job market example 22:35 final thoughts, seasonal workbook and newsletter ======================== How to support me (so I can keep posting!): 1. Q4 is right around the corner. And in the corporate and business world, this tends to be one of the busiest times of the year. End-of-year budgets, holiday sales and marketing campaigns, hitting annual targets, wrapping up projects, planning for the new year... there’s a lot happening. But here’s the thing: we have a say in how we live, too. That busy, “finish everything before the year ends” energy isn’t necessarily nature’s energy. It’s business energy. And if we’re not careful, we can start carrying that energy into our own lives, even when the season around us is asking us to do something completely different. When we resist the slower energy of autumn, it can start to show up in ways like: Feeling disconnected from your self-worth or self-love Becoming insecure about how much (or how little) you’ve grown Getting sick more often Feeling exhausted, but still feeling like you can’t slow down Constantly feeling like you need to be doing more before the year is over As we lean into this new season, I’ll be guiding us through what autumn can actually teach us, what it means to embrace slower months, and how to honour that slower energy without sacrificing our success or ambitions. But for now, let’s just take a moment. Look at your vision board. What has come true? What still needs nurturing? What can you let go of? And, perhaps most importantly, what should you avoid?( Hint: trying to force yourself into “lock in” mode when the season is asking you to slow down.) And then there’s the bonus topic that somehow creeps up every year and has a way of pulling us out of enjoying the season altogether: preparing mentally and financially for the holidays. Because yes, autumn is about slowing down. But that doesn’t mean we have to be caught off guard when December rolls around. I hope you enjoyed this one. I've always been a very nostalgic person. I love decorating for the fall. Planning the traditions that I would do while the leaves start turning into beautiful golden colours. Making fall candles candy apples are an annual Thanksgiving pumpkin toss (whoever’s rolls the furthest, wins!). I'd also love to watch movies that would get me in the mood for the season all the 90s and early 2000s Disney Halloween movies, and I even have a fall playlist that I put on the second. It turns October 1st. It seems I'm not the only one that's constantly craving to feel like a kid again and each of those seasons. It can feel discouraging when no matter what it never reaches what it was like as a kid. But that doesn't mean we can't do things now to maximize every season that comes in a way that feels like you did as a kid and also with the flow of time meaning having the courage to try new things as well. p.s. I was feeling a little under the weather while recording this one so it's why it's a bit slower and softer. I hope you enjoy it. <3 Bianca ======================== in this episode: 0:00 introduction 1:08 nostalgia with new holidays and seasons 3:32 craving childhood memories 5:28 why time and memories feel different as kids 7:30 adults are on autopilot 9:58 what it means to "feel like a kid again" 11:58 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique 13:22 try some new things this autumn! 14:17 comment some ideas (let's help each other out) 16:09 final thoughts + seasonal workbook ======================== How to support me (so I can keep posting!): 1. Friendships in your twenties can feel complicated. People grow, paths change, and it can be hard to know which connections to nurture, redefine, or release. In this episode, I share the friendship analogy that helped me stop expecting every friendship to hold the same depth: the onion layers. We talk about the value of curiosity, giving people room to change, investing in your core community, and becoming your own best friend along the way. Your friendships do not all need to look the same to be meaningful. 🩵 p.s. thanks for being patient with this episode! This episode is an invitation to slow down, stay present, and celebrate the season instead of rushing past it. Health is one of the most profitable industries in the world, and that comes with a cost. Most people are aware of the villainization of western medicine and its ties to Big Pharma. But smart entrepreneurs noticed that shift before the rest of us did, and eastern medicine is now facing the same disproportionate focus on profit over people. At the end of the day, no guru, doctor, or wellness specialist knows you better than you know yourself. Now more than ever, we need to become better advocates for our own autonomy when it comes to our health. Disclaimer: this isn't anti-doctor or anti-wellness. It's a reminder that no single product, protocol, or person has the entire answer, because your body, your mind, and your life are too unique for a one-size-fits-all fix. Maybe you don't hate your job. Your day is just missing your values. For the longest time I thought I couldn't get excited about my days because I didn't enjoy my work enough. For my 100th episode I think it's time that I share the ultimate detox message for our generation. Although it might be painful to admit… maybe our parents were right? Maybe it is our phones. Specifically, social media. If you’ve been listening for a while, you know my complicated relationship with social media. I’ve always felt like a bit of a hypocrite: promoting the podcast and making a living as a social media manager on the very apps that drains me. While there are amazing creators out there, these apps were ultimately built using psychological manipulation. They are no longer just tools for connection; they are engines built to influence and sell to us. In this episode I share my honest thoughts about social media, the psychology of how it’s perpetuating common pain points of feeling “lost” or “behind” in our twenties. I also share some strategies to find a balance with this app (if you’re not convinced to write it off, lol) Lastly, I encourage you to lean into what your gut is telling you while listening to this video. Only *you* will know what your form of balance is. Okay, let's get into it. in this video… 00:00 introduction 02:45 the evolution of instagram 05:35 social media is modern marketing 09:50 the delicacy of our twenties 10:47 yes, it affects our attention span 11:05 mental noise: scrolling is messing up our values & opinions 12:35 it's perpetuating feelings of being "behind" and "lost" 13:45 reflection. how do you consistently feel? 15:10 quick recap 15:38 we can't be bored anymore 16:13 so, why do we keep using it? 20:52 strategies & mindsets to find a balance with social media 26:05 final thoughts how to support me (so I can keep posting!)… 1. For the last five years, I’ve meditated almost every single day. Although highly requested... I was so intimidated to make this video. It is incredibly hard to put five years of deep, soul-shifting lessons into words without sounding cliché. There was a specific summer where I stopped fighting the season and started actually listening to it. And honestly, everything shifted after that. 🌞 In this episode, I am getting into what it really means to live seasonally, and specifically what summer is asking of you right now. We are talking about Q2 reflections, why summer is actually one of the best times to pivot instead of push harder, how social media can quietly pull you away from your own values if you are not paying attention, and the gardening analogy that completely changed how I think about goals. Morning routines are still one of the most talked about topics on the internet. And somehow, so many of us are still waking up feeling behind before the day has even started. In this episode, I am sharing everything I wish someone had told myself earlier about building a routine that's *actually* tailored to yourself. We are getting into why copying what you see on social media is quietly working against you, how your routines can start regulating your nervous system instead of adding to your stress, the two morning rituals I keep returning to no matter what season I am in, and why flexibility might actually be what makes a routine hold long term. We are also going into evening rituals, seasonal workouts, and the one values-based question that ties all of it together. This one is for you if you have tried to build a routine a hundred times and it never sticks. If you scroll through "that girl" content and feel more behind than inspired. If you are ready to stop performing your mornings and actually feel them. Unlearning is the work nobody warns you about. You can read every self-help book, do all the right things, and still feel stuck, because sometimes the problem is not what you have not yet learned. It is what you need to let go of first. In this episode, I am walking you through the art of unlearning, what it actually means, why it is one of the most powerful things you can do for your personal growth, and the real practical steps I have used to start rewiring the limiting beliefs that were quietly running my life. We are getting into the role of neuroplasticity, how tools like meditation, affirmations, and journaling can genuinely shift your inner world, and the personal stories that made me realize I had to unlearn before I could truly grow. This is the episode I needed years ago. This one is for you if you have done the inner work and still feel like something is holding you back, if you know something needs to change but cannot quite name what it is, or if you are ready to stop letting old beliefs make decisions for you. Being soft and being ambitious are not opposites. But most of us in our twenties were never shown how to hold both at the same time, and this episode is the conversation I wish someone had started for me sooner. In this episode, I am breaking down 5 real ways to stop treating hustle and rest like they are at war with each other. We are going into why living through the extremes might actually be part of your process, how your sleep and circadian rhythm are quietly deciding how much energy you even have to give, why the seasons can do some of the heavy lifting for you if you let them, and why bringing play back into your life might honestly be the most ambitious thing you do all year. This is not a formula. This is the version of balance that actually fits your life. This one is for you if you are in your twenties, refuse to give up on your ambitions, and are completely done arriving at the finish line running on empty.
