I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie sits down with holistic mindset coach Philippa to unpack why self-doubt shows up most when you’re about to grow and why it’s not a sign you’re doing it wrong. They explore how doubt often demands certainty before action, and why that need for “knowing how it will work out” keeps so many clinic owners stuck right at the point they’re ready to level up. Katie and Philippa explain that doubt isn’t something to eradicate. Instead, it’s often a beacon that you’re changing something meaningful. They talk about how the primitive brain reads change as threat, which is why doubt can feel like a full body experience and why comparison, scrolling, and “collecting evidence” that you’re not good enough can kick in fast. The key shift is learning to notice doubt without giving it authority, treating it as a pause rather than a full stop. They also break down what self-doubt can look like in real life: constant second-guessing, “what if” thinking, staying busy to avoid the real decision, blaming external factors, and getting trapped in patterns like “not enough time” or “not enough money.” Philippa shares practical ways to move through it, including lowering your stress response first, challenging the thought with “is that true?”, and breaking big decisions into tiny next steps so you can keep moving even when certainty isn’t available. Finally, Katie encourages listeners who feel stuck in that messy middle between where they are and where they want to be to take action and get support, rather than waiting for doubt to disappear. Because if you require certainty before you move, you’ll be waiting forever. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie digs into the second foundation of the Flywheel Method: the who . She explains why, at the point someone sees your marketing, they don’t yet see you as the expert, they don’t trust you, and they don’t believe you… so if you lead with what you do (physio, Pilates, massage), you’ll blend in with everyone else. Katie introduces the idea of perception vs reality : what your ideal client thinks they need to solve their problem versus what you, as the expert, know they actually need. She shares why the “magic” happens in the overlap, where you speak to the conversation in your client’s head while still guiding them towards the right solution and outcome. Using examples like knee pain and pelvic floor dysfunction, she shows how clients aren’t buying sessions or classes, they’re buying their way out of a problem. She also breaks down how to become the “untouchable expert” by choosing who you want to work with, creating a clear method or process that makes you the supply to the demand, and building a market of one. Finally, Katie challenges pay-as-you-go pricing models, explaining how programmes and better conditions for delivery create better client outcomes, reduce churn, and allow you to charge based on the value and transformation you deliver. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie is joined by Richard Evans, Clinical Lead at MBST Health UK, to explore what makes clinicians stand out and why being open minded can be a real competitive advantage in modern clinic care. Richard shares how he first came across MBST early in his physio career, why MBST works best as part of a wider treatment programme (not a replacement for good clinical reasoning), and what he sees across a growing UK network of clinics using the technology. They unpack why some clinicians dismiss new approaches too quickly, especially when something sits outside the “expected” pathway for stubborn or degenerative conditions. Using osteoarthritis as a clear example, Richard explains how traditional progression often feels like it only ends in injections and surgery, and why MBST can raise the ceiling on outcomes for the right patients when it is integrated properly. Katie and Richard also discuss how clinics can position MBST effectively, what needs to be in place before bringing it into a practice, and why the best results come from individualised care rather than cookie cutter protocols. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie is joined by Tom from the Jane UK team to talk about one of the biggest operational decisions clinic owners face: switching software. They unpack why changing systems feels so overwhelming, even when the new option is clearly better on paper, and why the real issue is not the software itself, it is the lack of time, headspace, and project planning most busy clinics have available. Katie and Tom explain that switching software needs to be treated like a proper business project, not a quick decision made on a whim. They discuss why many clinics only move part of their workflow across (like scheduling) and keep other parts elsewhere (like notes), and how that creates friction, workarounds, and admin overload. Tom shares a simple question to help you assess whether your current system is still fit for purpose: are you working with your software, or are you constantly working around it? They also dive into where software can create the biggest return on investment for clinic owners, especially when admin time and burnout are rising across teams. Tom introduces Jane’s AI Scribe feature for note-taking, how it works inside the charting area, and the safeguards that keep practitioners in control of what gets saved to the record. They cover the importance of thinking ahead to where your clinic is going in 6 to 12 months, and choosing systems that can support growth and complexity, rather than just patching today’s problems. Main Topics Covered: Why switching clinic software feels so hard, even when it is the right move. Why software is no longer a “nice to have” and has become a core part of clinic operations. Why changing systems should be treated as a project, not a whim. The hidden cost of only moving part of your workflow (online schedule but paper notes). How to give new software a fair test by moving more of your workflow into one place. A simple audit question: are you working with your software, or working around it? Why workarounds increase as your clinic grows rooms, services, team size, and complexity. How to think about switching decisions based on where you want to be in 6 to 12 months. Why clinic owners get stuck when they feel they need to know “the how” before they start. Why your software should grow with your clinic, not stay fixed while your business evolves. How small time savings compound into reduced burnout and more capacity. The biggest time saving buckets in clinic software: online booking, note-taking, and payments. How online booking and patient portals reduce admin load and protect policies (like payment rules). How payment workflows and reconciliation reduce cognitive load and time drift across the day. What AI Scribe is, how it transcribes then summarises, and why the practitioner stays in control. How prompts and templates shape the note output so it matches your style. Why better draft notes can improve note quality and reduce end-of-day admin backlog. Regulation and safety: the “human in the loop” approach and why it matters for clinical records. Why ROI is easiest to measure in time blocks and outcomes, not in abstract “AI” hype. Katie’s key takeaway: step back from the detail, decide where you want to be in six months, then work backwards with the right support. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie challenges clinic owners to stop chasing “bigger” and start building a business that actually serves them. She explains why profit isn’t something that happens at the end of the year, it’s a habit that needs to be built into every transaction, every service, and every decision you make. Katie breaks down the common trap of growth-first thinking: when bookings increase, expenses often rise to match, and you get locked into a more complex business without seeing any real improvement in take-home pay. She also explores why cashflow can feel stressful in both drought periods and busy periods, and how “bank balance accounting” leads to reactive decisions like taking on the wrong clients, throwing out last-minute promotions, or pulling tasks back onto your own plate. You’ll hear practical examples of how to identify what truly makes you profit (and what quietly drains your time and money), including a real story of room rental that created a net loss once time and overheads were accounted for. Katie also shares a simple “smaller plates” approach to money management by separating accounts for tax, profit, and operating expenses, so you can allocate profit intentionally and make decisions from clarity, not panic. Main Topics Covered: Why “bigger is not better” and how to build a business that serves your life, not the other way round. Why profit can’t be treated as an afterthought or a year-end event. The danger of focusing on growth first and assuming profit will take care of itself. Why cashflow problems can happen when bookings drop and when bookings increase. How rising revenue often triggers rising expenses, locking you into a new cost level. Why more staff, more space, and more sites don’t automatically mean more profit. How to make profit part of every transaction and stop doing work that doesn’t pay. Profit as a habit: focusing on maximising profit first to create smarter growth. A real example of room rental that looked profitable but was actually a net loss once time and overheads were included. How to evaluate stock and equipment sales: demand, margins, and the hidden cost of holding inventory. Using upsells and bundles (and knowing your numbers) to make selling equipment worth it. Why allocating staff time to higher-margin services can improve profitability without increasing hours. How growth-at-all-costs can damage your health and quality of life. Working smarter: creating premium ways to deliver outcomes without relying only on face-to-face time. What “bank balance accounting” is and why it leads to reactive decisions (wrong clients, rushed promos, doing everything yourself). Traditional accounting vs profit-first thinking: sales minus profit equals expenses. “Use smaller plates”: separating accounts for tax, profit, and operating expenses to manage cash more intentionally. How allocating money for tax and profit reduces stress and gives you choices about reinvestment and pay. Katie’s key takeaway: don’t feel overwhelmed, start somewhere, and get ruthless about where your time and energy goes so you can build a clinic and a life you love. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie asks clinic owners a big question: are you being an ostrich with your numbers? She explains why looking at your bank balance or waiting for your year-end accounts keeps you reactive, and why you need a simple, repeatable way to track the right numbers regularly. Katie walks through a practical approach to forecasting based on profit (not just turnover), including treating the owner’s pay as a real business cost, working out the true top-line revenue you need, and then breaking that down into tangible targets like sessions per week or class attendance. She also covers how forecasting helps you plan for seasonality, capacity, recruitment, cashflow gaps (especially with insurance work), and better margins by focusing on efficiency and “lowest hanging fruit” improvements. Main Topics Covered: Why many clinic owners avoid their numbers and how that keeps the business reactive rather than planned. The difference between looking at turnover and focusing on profit and cashflow. Why paying yourself “what’s left” creates unstable income and can cause issues (especially for limited companies). How to treat the business owner’s pay as a real cost in the P&L, not an afterthought. A simple forecasting method: desired take-home pay + expenses + tax = required top-line revenue. How to break revenue targets into practical actions (sessions per month, sessions per week, hours in the diary). How to calculate an average session value and use it to set realistic treatment-hour targets. Using forecasting for different business models (1:1 sessions vs classes) and what the numbers reveal about capacity. How seasonality (school holidays, annual leave, quieter months) impacts income and staffing capacity. How forecasting helps you plan recruitment ahead of time instead of waiting until you’re overwhelmed. Why prioritising profit highlights better margins and exposes “busy but not profitable” activities. Examples of low-margin distractions (room rental, admin time, extra effort for small income) and why numbers matter. Insurance work and cashflow: long payment terms, lower margins, and why private-pay often improves profitability. How tracking numbers regularly reduces overspending, helps cut unnecessary expenses, and supports strategic growth. Why you can’t strip all the money out of the business and still expect it to grow, and how forecasting supports gradual increases. Katie’s key takeaway: stop burying your head in the sand, commit time to knowing your numbers, and decide what you want to earn so you can build a clinic and a life you love. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie Bell is joined by Charlie from Klatch.co.uk to unpack what’s actually working right now for clinic growth, and what’s just noise. They explore the reality of AI in clinic marketing, why direct bookings from AI search are still low but its influence is growing, and what clinic owners should focus on instead of chasing shiny new tools. Katie and Charlie also dive into the biggest lever most clinic owners overlook: front desk performance. From call handling and follow-up frameworks to booking journey friction, opening hours, and the “leaky bucket” effect, this conversation is packed with practical insights to help you convert more of the leads you’re already generating and build sustainable growth. Main Topics Covered: The difference between direct bookings from AI search and AI’s indirect role in the patient decision journey. Why AI search optimisation matters now, even if it’s currently a small percentage of bookings. The importance of a holistic marketing approach, and why clinics can’t rely on one lead source. Why your email list and reviews are two of the only assets you truly “own” as a clinic. How the best-performing clinics combine performance marketing with strong internal systems. Why front desk performance is one of the highest leverage growth drivers in a clinic. What effective front desk calls include: listening, objection handling, pricing confidence, and creating scarcity. Why marketing is only half the story, and how call handling impacts conversion and lifetime value. The case for Saturday opening hours, and how adding weekend availability can drive significant revenue growth. Why clinic owners often view admin as a cost, and how to reframe it as an investment. How to measure and manage front desk performance using clear metrics and role clarity. Why great culture comes from improving systems, not blaming people, and how frameworks help staff thrive. Where AI can support clinics (out of hours and overflow), and why it won’t beat a great human front desk. Why online booking often converts poorly, and how friction in the booking journey loses “hot and ready” patients. Why calls convert better than online booking, and how forms plus fast follow-up (including WhatsApp) can capture leads. Katie’s “leaky bucket” analogy: why more marketing spend won’t work if your operational systems are leaking revenue. What Klatch does differently, and why transparency and revenue-tracking matter in a clinic-agency relationship. Charlie’s biggest recommendation for the next 30 days: improve front desk performance and the systems around it. Why hiring the right front desk person matters, and how strengths and role fit impact performance. Thank you for tuning into this episode of Treat Your Business. If you do nothing else after listening, take a look at your front desk and booking journey and ask yourself one question: where are the leaks in my bucket, and what systems could I tighten so I convert more of the leads I’m already generating? I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie introduces the fourth foundational step for building a clinic business that creates more time, more income, and more freedom: “you”. She explains why the biggest obstacle to growth is often not your marketing, your pricing, or your systems, but the beliefs you are operating from as the business owner. Katie unpacks how your thoughts shape your reality, why your current business environment is a direct result of past belief systems, and how upgrading your “money thermostat” can change the decisions you make and the results you create. She also shares why you cannot out-strategy a faulty mindset, how affirmations can help reprogram the subconscious, and what to focus on before you dive into the upcoming strategy-heavy episodes. Main Topics Covered: Why the biggest challenges clinic owners face are often rooted in the business owner, not the business strategy. The quote “Whatever a man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” and how thoughts either move you forward or hold you back. How belief systems are formed through upbringing, authority figures, experiences, and accumulated knowledge. Why your business environment is a product of your beliefs, and how many of those beliefs may not actually be yours. The concept of your “money thermostat” and how it gets set by what you hear, absorb, and repeat. Why Katie chose to stop reading and listening to the news, and how inputs affect how you show up in business. Living on autopilot versus living consciously, and why awareness is essential for growth. Why the best marketing strategy will only get you so far if your mindset and beliefs have not been upgraded. “You can’t out strategy a faulty mindset” and why mindset work must be woven into business growth. What affirmations are, how they work, and why the brain does not distinguish between true and false in the way we think it does. Examples of inherited money beliefs like “money doesn’t grow on trees” and “to make money you have to work hard”. How beliefs can be inherited across generations, and how questioning them creates freedom and new possibilities. A recap of the four foundations: the why, the who, the how, and you, and a preview of what is coming next as Katie revisits each in more depth. Thank you for tuning into this episode of Treat Your Business. If you do nothing else after listening, take a moment to look at your current business environment and ask yourself one question: what beliefs created this, and which ones are you ready to upgrade so you can build a clinic and a life you love? I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie introduces the third key foundation for building a clinic business that creates more time, more income, and more freedom: the “how”. She explains why a pay as you go model can leave your income unpredictable and your diary vulnerable to cancellations, and how creating programmes and packages can help your patients get better results while giving you a more resilient business model. Katie breaks down how to think in terms of state A to state B transformation, identify the roadblocks that get in the way of recovery, and create better conditions for delivery so you are not overpromising, undercharging, and doing unpaid work behind the scenes. Main Topics Covered: Why most clinic owners default to a single session business model, and the hidden cost of relying on pay as you go income. The fear of looking salesy, and why professionalism means recommending what your patients genuinely need. Why you cannot predict marketing, capacity, or revenue when you do not know what is coming in week to week. How churn rate is created when patients drop off before they get results, often because life gets in the way. How to solve problems creatively by building support beyond face to face sessions, based on real patient roadblocks. The state A to state B transformation, and why people buy themselves out of a problem and into a solution. How programmes improve retention, conversion, and revenue by creating commitment and consistency. Why better conditions for delivery lead to better outcomes, stronger boundaries, and a better reputation. How to price your programmes so you are paid for the full scope of support you provide, not just the time in the room. A preview of what is coming next, including mapping roadblocks, pricing, naming, marketing, delivery, and SOPs for your programmes. Thank you for tuning into this episode. If you want more consistent income and more freedom without sacrificing patient outcomes, start by looking at the model you are running right now and ask yourself one question. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode of Treat Your Business, Katie is joined by Philippa and Bruno for a quarterly Coach’s Corner conversation about the real patterns they’re seeing with clinic owners right now and what actually creates lasting transformation in business. Bruno shares candidly what life and business felt like before joining Thrive, including the anxiety, overwhelm, and “winging it” that left him feeling like he was running the ship blind. Together, they unpack why so many clinic owners look for a simple checklist, why people often want to quit right before a breakthrough, and how money, stress, and fear can quietly drive decision-making without us realising. This episode is a powerful reminder that strategy matters, but the biggest growth comes when you’re willing to be coached, stay open-minded, and do the uncomfortable work that moves you towards the future version of yourself. Main Topics Covered: Why “winging it” in business creates anxiety, chaos, and a lack of direction What clinic owners are really looking for when they ask for “the checklist” The moment many people try to quit right before a breakthrough, and why it happens How community and trust reduce fear of judgement and help you move faster Why money is often used as a socially acceptable excuse, and how to reframe it as an investment The “that won’t work for my business” mindset, and how curiosity changes results How stress and overwhelm shut down clear thinking and keep you stuck in survival mode Why busy work feels productive (dopamine) but doesn’t move the needle What makes someone truly coachable, and why trust and courage matter The biggest return from coaching: becoming your future self and embracing fear as a signal What hasn’t changed at the heart of Thrive: boldness, integrity, transparency, and impact Thank you for tuning into this episode. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or tempted to quit because growth feels uncomfortable, let this be your reminder: you don’t need more information, you need the right support, the right focus, and the willingness to take the next brave step forward. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie breaks down the second key foundation for building a clinic business that creates more time, more income, and more freedom: the “who”. She explains why marketing yourself as what you do (physio, osteo, sports massage, Pilates) can cause you to miss the vast majority of people who need your help, and how getting clear on who you serve (and the real problems they’re trying to solve) makes your marketing resonate and convert. Main Topics Covered: Why marketing “what you do” can lose up to 95% of opportunities to help potential patients. The difference between being everything to everybody vs becoming the obvious choice for the right people. Understanding what your ideal patients are actually thinking before they ever search for a practitioner Why people care more about outcomes than treatment modalities at the first touchpoint How to “look through the letterbox” into your patient’s life and speak to their real-world worries and frustrations The fear behind niching down, and why staying broad keeps your marketing invisible Whether you can have multiple ideal clients, and why each one needs a separate marketing campaign Why demographics aren’t enough, and how psychographics create stronger, more impactful messaging How to start identifying who you most want to work with based on the clients that energise you A preview of next week’s episode: the “how” and solving problems creatively to create consistent income Thank you for tuning into this episode. If you’re ready to attract the right patients and stand out in a crowded industry, start by getting clear on who you help best, and make sure your marketing speaks to their problems, not your job title. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' In this episode, Katie Bell explores the crucial importance of understanding the "why" behind your business. She emphasizes that a clear purpose not only guides growth but also aligns your business model with your personal values and goals, leading to greater freedom, income, and fulfillment. Main Topics Covered: The significance of identifying your core "why" to guide business decisions How organic growth often leads to running the business on autopilot, creating challenges The importance of aligning your business model with your end goals and personal values Visualizing your perfect day to design a business that supports your lifestyle The concept of the flywheel method to build momentum in your business How working against your values causes business struggles and limits growth Practical steps to reflect on your "why" and take control of your business's direction Upcoming topics: the who, the how, and the owner’s mindset Thank you for tuning into this foundational episode. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. Thank you for being here. I’m Katie Bell, and today I want to play a little game. Imagine you wake up tomorrow, pick up your phone, open Instagram and… nothing. No account. No followers. No Reels. No Stories. No content. Before you start sweating, stay with me, because this is one of the most useful marketing exercises you can do as a clinic owner. Episode Summary If Instagram disappeared tomorrow, would your clinic, studio, or business survive? In this episode, I’m sharing exactly what I would do if I lost Instagram overnight, and why social media is a marketing tool, not a marketing strategy. Too many clinic owners have built their entire marketing plan on a platform they do not own. Algorithms change. Reach drops. Accounts get restricted. Platforms evolve, or disappear. That is why your marketing needs foundations that you control. I walk you through my seven-part “emergency marketing plan”, including how I would use my email database, reactivate past patients, build referrals properly, double down on Google, strengthen relationships with key referrers, collect reviews consistently, and become known for something specific. I also share why I’m running my No Fluff Marketing Plan masterclass, and how it will help you stop feeling overwhelmed and start spending time on the marketing that actually creates enquiries, consultations, and bookings. Key Takeaways Social media is a marketing tool, not a marketing strategy. Build marketing assets you own, starting with your email database. You do not always need more followers, you need more conversations. Reactivating past patients is often faster and more effective than chasing strangers. Referrals come from a remarkable experience, not awkward asking. Reviews are the modern version of word of mouth, and they influence decisions every day. Google is where people look for answers when they are in pain. Healthcare is still relationship-based, get back into the real world with key referrers. Specialists get remembered and recommended. Generalists often get forgotten. If marketing is draining you, strip it back, focus, and build a plan that works without constant content. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. Today I’m building on what I said last week about most clinic marketing being a complete waste of time. I want to talk about one of the biggest lies clinic owners have been sold in recent years, that the more followers you have, the more successful your business will be. Episode Summary Today I'm calling out the follower trap and why it keeps clinic owners busy but not profitable. I explain the difference between attention and intention, share a real example from the clinic, and leave you with a 30 day challenge to focus on what actually drives bookings, profit, and time freedom. Key Takeaways Followers do not equal success. Clients, profit, cash in the bank, time freedom, and a fully booked diary do. Followers are easy to measure, which is why they can become a distraction. Attention is cheap. Intention is valuable. Focus on the people actively looking for help. If you feel overwhelmed, check what you are spending time on and whether it is producing results. Referrals, reviews, and local relationships often drive more growth than posting more content. Trust is built through consistency, results, reputation, and exceptional patient experiences. AI and modern search are pushing us towards being the most trusted answer, not the loudest voice. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. I am Katie Bell, and today I am sharing something that might ruffle a few feathers. Most clinic marketing is a complete waste of time. Not marketing itself, but the way many clinic owners are spending their precious hours. If you have ever poured time into Canva, captions, reels, and posts, only to check your phone later and see a handful of likes, this episode is for you. I am going to help you refocus on what actually drives enquiries and bookings, without dancing on social media or chasing trends. Episode Summary In this episode, I talk about the productivity trap that keeps clinic owners busy but not growing. Somewhere along the line, marketing has become confused with posting, and that is a problem. Patients do not pay your rent because you reached more people on Instagram. Patients pay your bills because they trust you, they can find you when they need help, and you make it easy for them to book. I share the only marketing scorecard that matters, the question you must be able to answer if Instagram disappeared tomorrow, and the fundamentals that have driven the biggest growth periods in my clinic. I also explain how we use social media as a support, not as the engine, and why stripping things back and working the path until it works is often the fastest route to better results. Key Takeaways Marketing is not the same as posting. Activity does not equal results. The only scorecard that matters is enquiries and bookings, not reach or likes. If Instagram disappeared tomorrow, you should know exactly where your next 10 patients would come from. Build visibility where decisions are made, not just where attention lives. The fundamentals drive growth: patient experience, referrals, reviews, community relationships, trust, and being easy to recommend. Stop doing a mile wide and an inch deep of marketing. Strip it back and work the path until it works. Social media can support your campaigns, but it should not consume your time or distract you from fixing leaks in your clinic. Look at what is already working, then do more of that before starting something new. Thank you for joining me for this episode of Treat Your Business. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome to the Treat Your Business podcast, the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things. I’m Katie Bell, and this is the new era of bigger insights and bolder conversations to help you grow a clinic and a life you love. Let’s dive in. Episode summary Last week, I shared two simple questions to help you reframe destructive thoughts and train your brain for growth. If you have not listened to that episode yet, go back and start there because this one will land so much better afterwards. In today’s episode, I’m continuing the roadmap to results and digging into why some people grow, earn more, create more freedom, and move on to the next big thing, while others stay stuck on the sidelines. This is about getting out of research mode and into action. It is about trying things before you deny them, being willing to experiment, and doing the work even when it feels uncomfortable. Because insight without action is worthless. Key takeaways 1. Try it before you deny it You cannot figure out how to grow from the sidelines. You have to experiment, apply what you are learning, and be willing to fail fast so you can learn faster. 2. Adopt the belief that everything is figureoutable If you do not believe you can figure things out, you will stagnate and hit a ceiling. Most problems and dreams are figureoutable, and if you truly care, you will find a way. 3. Do the work, not just the learning Most people are overloaded with information. Listening, reading, and consuming content is not the same as implementing. Taking action is the only path to change. 4. Stay in action, even when it is messy Growth gets messy before it gets better. If something does not make sense right now, come back to it later, but keep moving forwards. 5. Repetition is not an accident, it is how change happens Repetition is how we build neuroplasticity, rewire habits, and create lasting change. Expect to face the same issues again and again, just at different levels. 6. Community accelerates results When you apply all of this alongside like minded people who have your back, you reach goals faster, with more joy, creativity, and momentum. Resources and links Everything Is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo (book mentioned in the episode) Last week’s episode (listen first for the full context and the two mindset reframes) If you are trying to figure everything out alone right now, please hear this. It is figureoutable. Most of the time we have just overthought it, got in our own way, or let our mindset convince us it will not work. I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode, and I’ll see you back next week. Thanks for listening to the Treat Your Business podcast. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. This week I’m doing something a little different with a short, sharp, high value episode you can listen to quickly, then get straight back to your busy clinical day. Episode summary In this episode I’m talking about why growth can feel messy, uncomfortable, and anything but linear, and why that is completely normal when you start properly working on your business. I share what I see in clinic owners who grow revenue, profit, and freedom, versus those who stay stuck, and I walk you through the first step in your roadmap to results: training your brain for growth. I cover two common destructive thoughts that shut down progress, then show you how to flip them into productive questions that help your brain find solutions. I also share a vulnerable story from Clinic Growth Live that highlights how mindset and openness to learning can change what you take from any room, training, or coaching. Key Takeaways Progress is rarely linear. Growth can get messy when you start changing pricing, systems, team structure, and decision making. Resilience matters. Humility, courage, self compassion, patience, humour, and a willingness to experiment help you move through the hard bits instead of retreating to what feels safe. Catch the thought “I know this already.” When I believe I already know something, I disengage and stop learning. Replace it with: What can I learn from this? Ask it with genuine curiosity, again and again. Catch the thought “This won’t work for me.” That belief shuts down possibility before I even try. Replace it with: How can this work for me? Repeating this question forces me to look for adaptations, opportunities, and new connections. Hearing something before is not the same as mastering it. Knowing something intellectually is different from doing it consistently and benefiting from it. My brain filters what I notice through my beliefs and mindset, so the questions I ask determine what I see and what I act on. Resources and links Quote referenced: Shirley Chisholm, “You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” Questions to practise this week: What can I learn from this? How can this work for me? If things feel messy right now, I want you to know you’re not failing, you’re in it, and it is normal. Start with the first step: train your brain for growth by asking better questions. I’ll be back next week as we continue building your roadmap to results. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to Treat Your Business , the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things. I’m Katie Bell, and this is the new era of bigger insights and bolder conversations to help you grow a clinic and a life you love. Let’s dive in. Episode summary What if you did not need more clients to grow? In this episode, I’m sharing why the fastest, simplest way to take your clinic to the next level is often not about adding more, but about getting 10% better at the things already happening inside your business. I talk through the compound effect of small improvements across three core areas: conversion, retention, and pricing. When you turn the dial up by just 10% in each of these, you can increase revenue and profit without spending more on marketing, hiring more staff, or chasing the next shiny strategy. This is a CEO level shift. Moving from guessing to leading, from reacting to deciding, and from being in the business to actually running it. Key takeaways Small improvements compound fast. A 10% lift in the right places can create a huge difference over a year. Conversion matters more than you think. If you’re converting 70% of new patients into ongoing care, improving that to 80% can increase weekly sessions without spending another pound on marketing. Retention is where profit often lives. The real profit is rarely in session one. It is in sessions 2, 3, 4, 5, and beyond, when clients stay long enough to get results. Pricing increases do not need to be scary. Even a small increase, applied consistently across your client base, adds up quickly over 12 months. Most clinics do not have a lead problem, they have a leakage problem. Money comes in, then leaks out through poor follow up, weak rebooking, and missed reactivation. Fix the leak before you pour more in at the top. Systems beat goals. If you do not have a system for tracking and improving your numbers, you will keep hitting a ceiling, no matter how hard you work. Knowing your numbers is leadership. When you understand your numbers, you can do less, make better decisions, and feel more in control. Resources Atomic Habits by James Clear If this episode has been a nudge to step out of the day to day and focus on what actually moves the needle, take it. For most clinics, that 10% is the difference between stress and control, between busy and profitable, and between feeling stuck and actually growing. I'd love to hear from you 'text the show' Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth Welcome Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. I’m Katie Bell, and today I’m talking about the illusion of more. If you’ve been telling yourself you just need more money, more enquiries, more staff, or more sessions, this episode is your reminder to pause and look at what’s actually happening inside your clinic. Episode Summary Most clinic owners assume they have a growth problem, but often the real issue is hidden in the numbers. It might be conversion, retention, pricing, capacity, utilisation, or the way your diary is structured. In this quick fire episode, I share why guessing is costing you control, and the five numbers I believe every clinic owner needs to know. I also tell you how getting clear on my own numbers from month one helped me build a consistently profitable clinic, pay myself every month, and make decisions with confidence. Key Takeaways If you do not know your numbers, you are always guessing. “More” can be a distraction from fixing what is actually broken. A clinic can feel busy and still leak revenue through gaps, churn, poor conversion, or inefficient diary management. Your business is talking to you all the time, and it speaks through numbers. Clarity creates control. Once you see the truth in the data, you cannot unsee it. The five numbers I want every clinic owner to know How many enquiries you get each week Your conversion rate from enquiry to new patient booking, and from new patient to ongoing treatment Your average visits per client Your average revenue per session Your utilisation, how full your diary actually is and how effectively hours turn into revenue If you are listening and thinking, I do not really know those numbers and I am guessing, then take this as your sign to pull yourself out of the weeds and get a grip on what is actually going on in your clinic. You deserve a clinic that works well for you, and you deserve to make a fantastic living from the business you are building. That starts with knowing your numbers. Thanks for listening, and I’ll see you again next week.
