The collector vehicle market remained strong in the third quarter of 2026, with a record-breaking August. In this episode, Chris is joined by Brian Ellis, Co-Founder and CEO of Fourbie. Together, they discuss recent market performance and share their outlook on the broader collector vehicle, truck, and 4x4 markets, including marketplace dynamics and which vehicles are emerging as winners and buying opportunities. The collector vehicle market’s impressive 2026 momentum continued through the third quarter, with the truck and 4x4 segment continuing to gain traction and appreciate. From a rearview-mirror perspective, August broke records across the board, and the third quarter was exemplary. Looking ahead, the depth of the fourth quarter’s normal seasonal slowdown will be a leading indicator of 2027’s momentum and performance. Our outlook remains cautiously optimistic as the macroeconomic environment evolves, with global unrest driving inflation and potentially impacting discretionary consumer spending. Overall, the market continues to favor sellers, but strategic opportunities still exist for buyers during the fourth-quarter seasonal slowdown and among select truck and 4x4 makes and models. Ongoing generational shifts are fueling demand and supporting values for trucks and 4x4s, further solidifying this segment as the emerging “blue-chip” category within the collector vehicle market.
