Liberty Troll is a First Amendment auditor who puts constitutional rights to the test by recording in public spaces and seeing how people respond. In this highlight video, Liberty Troll visits a Mormon church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) in Florida and encounters a wide range of reactions. Some Latter-day Saints ignore him, while others engage in surprisingly respectful conversations about faith, freedom, and constitutional rights.Things get especially interesting when church members explain why they believe in the truthfulness of Joseph Smith’s restored gospel — including conversations about the history of polygamy. And then the big question… did someone call the police on Liberty Troll once again? This brief highlight compilation captures some of the most entertaining moments from the original video, including a self-described “Karen” who claims the camera is “scary” and even attempts to grab it.Watch the full original Liberty Troll video here:[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGgNxVL9hAk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGgNxVL9hAk)Let us know in the comments: **How do you think everyone handled this First Amendment audit?**#LibertyTroll #FirstAmendmentAudit #Mormon #LDS #JosephSmith #FreedomOfSpeech #ConstitutionalRights #AuditorPlease consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell. David Bednar is one of the most recognizable apostles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and unlike many senior Church leaders, he has participated in numerous extended question-and-answer sessions with local congregations. These stake conference, regional conference, and devotional Q&As are largely unscripted, giving members the opportunity to ask questions directly. Over the years, many of these meetings have been recorded and quietly shared online, creating a fascinating record of Elder Bednar's spontaneous teaching style. In this video, I've gathered every public Bednar Q&A recording I could find into one compilation. Whether you're an active Latter-day Saint, former member, researcher, or simply curious about Mormonism, this collection offers a rare opportunity to hear Elder Bednar respond without the structure of a prepared General Conference address.Because Elder Bednar is widely viewed as a likely future president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these unscripted interactions may provide valuable insight into his leadership style, priorities, and approach to difficult questions.**In this video you'll see:*** Public stake conference Q&A sessions* Regional conference question-and-answer meetings* Devotional discussions* Candid interactions with Church members* Rare unscripted teaching momentsWhat do you think? Taylor Frankie Paul became an internet sensation after helping launch the viral MomTok movement and later starring in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She was also reportedly attached to a new Bachelorette-related project, but after video connected to her child abuse arrest became public, the project was ultimately shelved.Although Taylor has said she no longer identifies with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her name continues to surface whenever Mormon culture and social media collide. In this throwback episode, I revisit one of my earlier commentaries on Taylor Frankie Paul. I share my candid opinions about her rise to fame, the controversies surrounding her, and why she has become one of the most polarizing influencers associated with modern Mormon culture. For generations, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been taught that prophets and apostles are God’s chosen representatives — that they will not lead the church astray and that they speak with a unified, divine voice. But what happens when you compare the statements of LDS leaders across different generations? In this video, we examine a collection of clips highlighting contradictions between past and present church leaders on topics including salvation, grace, church policies, and controversial aspects of church history. Are these examples of changing revelation, evolving understanding, or something else entirely? Did this Mormon Apostle fail to love God — or is there more to the story? In this episode, we revisit highlights from an interview by Lance Earl of Ask Your Bishop, where he examines the words and actions of a prominent Mormon leader and asks a difficult question: What does it really mean to love God?Rather than simply criticizing Mormonism, Lance compares LDS teachings with biblical principles and invites viewers to consider whether church leaders are truly reflecting the teachings of Jesus.Watch the discussion, examine the claims, and decide for yourself.💬 What do you think? In this episode of Mormon News Roundup, I take a step away from the usual discussions about LDS history and apologetics to examine one of the most polarizing figures in modern American politics: Donald Trump. For decades, Latter-day Saints have generally leaned Republican. Yet Donald Trump has always occupied a unique place within Mormon culture. Why did so many faithful members feel conflicted about supporting him? Why was he such an outlier compared to previous Republican nominees like John McCain or Mitt Romney? In this video I discuss:• Why Donald Trump has historically struggled to win overwhelming support among Latter-day Saints.• My own political journey and why I've voted for candidates from both major parties.• Trump's relationship with Church leadership and his 2017 visit to Welfare Square.• Why character and personal conduct still matter in evaluating political leaders.• The reactions of Mormon and ex-Mormon influencers to Donald Trump.• Why I believe we should apply the same critical thinking to politicians that we apply to religious leaders. This isn't an endorsement of any political party or candidate. My goal is simply to explain my perspective and encourage thoughtful, consistent skepticism—whether we're discussing church leaders, media personalities, or presidents. If you enjoy thoughtful conversations about Mormonism, history, culture, and current events, I'd appreciate it if you'd subscribe and join the discussion. What do you think? Has Donald Trump's relationship with Mormonism been misunderstood, or do you think it reflects larger changes taking place within American politics? Please keep the comments respectful. When I was growing up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was taught that LDS leaders spoke the absolute truth.Members are taught that prophets and apostles are special witnesses of Jesus Christ, that they receive divine guidance, and that their teachings represent heavenly truths. But what happens when we compare their statements over time?In this video, we examine a compilation of clips highlighting moments where senior LDS leaders appear to contradict previous statements, provide misleading information, or make claims that raise serious questions about transparency and accountability. Are these examples of dishonesty, changing circumstances, human mistakes, or something else? Mitz Nelson’s journey out of Mormonism and into born-again Christianity is a powerful story of faith, questioning, and personal transformation. For years, Mitz was a faithful member of **The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints**, sincerely believing in its teachings and dedicating herself to the faith she had known. But as she began studying more about Mormon history, doctrine, and difficult questions surrounding the Church’s past, she found herself confronting information that challenged her understanding of what she had always believed. In this highlight video, Mitz shares her experience of moving from a committed Latter-day Saint, through a period of deep questioning and uncertainty, and ultimately toward a new relationship with God through born-again Christianity. Her story explores what happens when someone’s lifelong faith is challenged, how they navigate a personal faith crisis, and what it means to rebuild their life and spiritual identity after leaving a high-demand religion.Watch the original interview here:[https://youtu.be/j2I9LpDF708?is=h9pAFYHqZIrro0d](https://youtu.be/j2I9LpDF708?is=h9pAFYHqZIrro0d)_#Mormonism #ExMormon #LDS #FaithJourney #BornAgainChristian #Christianity #MormonStoriesPlease consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell. Why do so many former Latter-day Saints continue talking about Mormonism after they've left? One of the most common criticisms directed at this channel is the familiar phrase: **"You can leave the Church, but you can't leave it alone."** In this video, I explain why I believe that criticism misses the point entirely. We begin by looking at the earliest origins of Mormonism—not with the familiar Sacred Grove story, but with Joseph Smith's involvement in treasure-seeking and the use of seer stones. From there, I examine how the Church's central promises have evolved and why I see important parallels between early treasure-digging claims and modern promises of eternal rewards.I also explain why I believe extraordinary religious claims deserve careful examination, why faith alone is not sufficient evidence for me, and why I continue making videos after producing more than **3,000** of them. This is not an attack on individual Latter-day Saints. Many of the kindest and most sincere people I know are faithful members of the Church. Rather, this is a discussion about ideas, evidence, belief, and why I think those conversations matter.Whether you are an active member, a former member, or simply curious about the history and truth claims of Mormonism, I hope you'll watch with an open mind and decide for yourself.**What do you think?** Let me know in the comments. There are some people in the ex-Mormon community who leave the Church… and there are others who help open the door for everyone who comes after them.**Sir David the Bard was one of those people.**David passed away on **August 10, 2026**, leaving behind a remarkable legacy as one of the early ex-Mormon voices willing to publicly discuss subjects that were once considered strictly off-limits—including LDS temple rituals and experiences from inside the temple.Long before ex-Mormon YouTube became what it is today, David was openly talking about his experiences and challenging the secrecy surrounding Mormon temple practices. As a former temple worker, he was willing to shine a light on things that many members had never heard discussed publicly. In this episode of **Mormon News Roundup**, we remember David through the stories of his friend **Allison**, who shares personal memories and powerful stories about the man behind the videos—his personality, his experiences, and the courage it took to speak publicly. We also revisit one of David's videos documenting allegations and stories of abuse involving women inside LDS temples.Whatever you think of David's style, there's no denying that he helped push conversations into the open. For those who came later, the path was a little easier because people like David had already walked it.**Today, we remember the pioneer.**Rest in peace, Sir David the Bard.#ExMormon #Mormonism #LDS #MormonNewsRoundup #SirDavidTheBard #Temple #ExMormonYouTube #MormonTemple #LDSChurchPlease consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell. In late 2014, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints quietly published the Gospel Topics Essays—official essays that acknowledged some of the most controversial aspects of the Church's history, including Joseph Smith's plural marriages, the Book of Abraham, race and the priesthood, First Vision accounts, and more. For many lifelong members, the essays confirmed information they had previously been taught was anti-Mormon propaganda. For others, they represented an important step toward greater historical transparency.Only months later, PBS's *Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly* aired a fascinating report exploring why increasing numbers of Latter-day Saints were leaving the Church. What makes this broadcast especially remarkable is that it appears to contain the only televised interview in which a sitting Mormon General Authority directly discusses the newly released Gospel Topics Essays. In this episode, we revisit that historic PBS report, examine Elder Marcus Nash's explanation for why Church leaders published the essays, and explore how this moment fit into the broader conversation surrounding faith crises, institutional transparency, and the changing relationship between members and Church history.Whether you're an active Latter-day Saint, a former member, a student of religion, or simply interested in modern religious history, this is an important piece of Mormon history that deserves another look.If you enjoy thoughtful analysis of Mormon news, Church history, and LDS culture, consider subscribing for more episodes every week.#LDS #Mormon #GospelTopicsEssays #ChurchHistory #ExMormon #JosephSmith #Religion #PBS #MarcusNash #MormonNewsRoundupPlease consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell. For nearly four decades, Russell M. Nelson sat near the top of the LDS Church hierarchy. As apostle, senior leader, and eventually church president, he oversaw some of the most consequential—and controversial—developments in modern Mormon history. In this episode, we examine Nelson's rise to power, his long-running campaign against the term "Mormon," the 2015 exclusion policy affecting children of gay parents, the SEC investment scandal, the church's relationship with race and LGBTQ issues, and his unprecedented temple-building campaign.Supporters view Nelson as a visionary prophet who modernized the church and expanded its global reach. Critics see a leader obsessed with branding, institutional control, and real estate expansion while avoiding accountability for the church's most damaging policies. From faith-promoting miracle stories to billion-dollar investment funds, from public relations campaigns to battles over temple construction, this video explores the legacy of one of the most influential and polarizing figures in modern Mormonism. What do you think Russell Nelson's lasting legacy will be?#MormonNewsRoundup #LDSChurch #Mormonism #RussellNelson #ExMormon #LatterDaySaints #GeneralConference #ChurchHistory #MormonStories #ReligionPlease consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell. Michael Ballam is an acclaimed American opera singer, educator, and performer, celebrated for his powerful bass-baritone voice and distinguished career on the opera stage. While many know him for his musical achievements, Latter-day Saints know him for something entirely different. For years, Ballam portrayed **Lucifer** in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' filmed temple endowment presentation. His unforgettable performance became familiar to countless temple attendees before the Church retired the live-action films and replaced them with a newer presentation format. This video is a **supercut of every scene featuring Michael Ballam as Lucifer** from that now-retired temple film, with a few creative edits added for entertainment. Many current and former members of **The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints** have described feeling weighed down by a culture of perfectionism. They speak of constant pressure to do more, be more, and never feeling "good enough."In this video, I step back from the debate and let the historical record speak for itself.Rather than relying on secondhand summaries or isolated quotations, you'll hear directly from senior LDS leaders—primarily through General Conference messages—as they discuss perfection, worthiness, obedience, and becoming like Christ. These are the talks many people point to when discussing what has been called *toxic perfectionism*.The video also examines an interesting contrast:* Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's 2017 General Conference address, where he argues that Satan exploits feelings of demanded perfection.* President Spencer W. Kimball's 1974 BYU devotional, which presents a much more demanding view of personal perfection.* Modern psychological perspectives on perfectionism, shame, depression, and feelings of worthlessness.Have Church teachings on perfection changed over time? Are these messages being misunderstood? Or do they contribute to unhealthy expectations for many members?Watch the source material and decide for yourself. If you enjoy thoughtful discussions about Mormonism, LDS history, Church leadership, and current events, consider subscribing to **Mormon News Roundup**.**#Mormon #LDS #ExMormon #GeneralConference #JeffreyRHolland #SpencerWKimball #MormonNewsRoundup #MentalHealth #Perfectionism #Religion #FaithDeconstruction #ChurchHistory**Please consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell.
