Have you ever eaten something and immediately thought, “Okay…now I need to work that off”? Or maybe you missed a workout and suddenly felt guilty for the rest of the day. Maybe you’ve even found yourself thinking, “I ate more than I should have, so I need to exercise more tomorrow.” If that sounds familiar, I want you to pause for a minute—because somewhere along the way, many of us learned to treat exercise like a transaction. Eat more, exercise more. Eat something “bad,” burn more calories. Gain weight, work harder. Miss a workout, feel guilty. But what if exercise was never supposed to be punishment? What if your workout wasn't meant to be a way to pay for your food, earn your meals, or punish your body for what you ate? What if movement could actually be something you look forward to because it strengthens your body, gives you energy, supports your health, and helps you feel good in your body? Your workout was never meant to be a response to your eating. And today, we're talking about movement that heals—exercise without punishment. Because I want you to start seeing movement differently. Not as something you have to do because you ate too much. Not as something you have to earn or endure. And definitely not as a punishment for missing yesterday's workout. Instead, we're going to talk about how exercise can become a form of strength, stewardship, and support for your body. So if you've ever felt guilty for missing a workout… If you've ever exercised primarily because you wanted to burn calories or lose weight… Or if you've ever believed that you have to work harder to “make up” for what you ate— this episode is for you. And if you're ready to stop fighting your body and start building a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food and movement, I would love to help you. I offer one-on-one coaching where we work together to break free from the diet mentality, build sustainable habits, and create a healthier relationship with food, movement, and your body. You can email me at TaraJ@DietDitching.com to learn more. And don't forget to join our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you'll find encouragement, support, and practical tools to help you keep moving forward. Now, let's talk about what it really means to exercise without punishment.
Have you ever found yourself standing in the pantry, staring at the shelves, looking for something to eat… and suddenly realize, “Wait a minute. I’m not actually hungry.” But you still really, really want something. Maybe you’ve had a stressful day. You’re exhausted. You’re overwhelmed. You’re frustrated. Maybe you feel lonely, bored, or just completely drained. And sometimes, all of those emotions can show up in the same day! So what do we do? We reach for food. Not necessarily because our body needs nourishment, but because, in that moment, food feels like comfort. It gives us something to look forward to. It helps us numb out, relax, distract ourselves, or simply escape from whatever we're feeling. But what if the food isn’t actually what you need? What if there’s something underneath that craving that you’re really hungry for? Maybe you’re hungry for rest. Maybe you need connection. Maybe you need to release some frustration, set a boundary, ask for help, or simply give yourself permission to slow down. And here’s the thing: learning to recognize that doesn’t mean you’ll never emotionally eat again. It means you’re becoming aware. Instead of automatically walking into the pantry and grabbing something, you can pause and ask yourself: “What am I really needing right now?” That one question can begin to change everything. So today, we're going to talk about three things you could really be hungry for when you think you’re hungry for food. We're going to bring some awareness to emotional eating and, more importantly, learn how to listen to what your emotions might actually be trying to tell you. So if you’ve ever found yourself eating when you know you’re not physically hungry, this episode is for you. Take a breath, step away from the pantry for a few minutes, and let’s dive in. And if emotional eating is something you continually struggle with and you’re ready to understand what’s really driving it, I would love to connect with you. You can reach out to me at TaraJ@DietDitching.com to learn more about one-on-one coaching and schedule a discovery call. And don’t forget, we’d love to have you inside our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can find encouragement, support, and connection with other women on this journey. Alright, friend. Let’s talk about what you might really be hungry for.
What if the goal isn’t to be perfect… but to be faithful? What would change in your health journey if, instead of constantly asking yourself, “Am I doing enough?” you started asking, “Am I being faithful with what God has placed in front of me today?” Because when we decide it’s time to “get back on track” or finally get serious about our health, what do we tend to do? We overhaul everything. New diet. New workout routine. Meal prep. No sugar. No carbs. More water. Early mornings. Perfect portions. Maybe even a brand-new schedule—all starting Monday! And for a little while, we’re all in. But eventually… life happens. The kids need something. Work gets crazy. You’re tired. Your schedule changes. You miss a workout. You eat something you didn’t plan on eating. And suddenly that all-or-nothing mindset creeps back in. “Well, I already messed up.” “I’ll start again tomorrow.” And the cycle begins all over again. But what if there’s another way? What if God isn’t asking you to completely overhaul your life overnight? What if He’s inviting you to be faithful in the small things? Because transformation usually doesn’t happen through one big decision or one perfect day. It happens through the small choices we make consistently over time—especially the choices nobody else sees. Choosing to nourish your body instead of restrict it. Choosing to move your body because you’re caring for it, not punishing it. Choosing to pause and pray instead of automatically turning to food. Choosing to get back up after a hard day instead of deciding you’ve failed. Those choices may feel small, but they matter. So today, we’re going to talk about what it really looks like to choose faithfulness over perfection and how those small, everyday choices can create lasting transformation. So stick with me, friend. Let’s dive into this together. And if you’re realizing that you don’t need another diet—you need support, accountability, and someone to help you actually put these things into practice—I’d love to connect with you through one-on-one coaching. You can email me at TaraJ@DietDitching.com to learn more and schedule a discovery call. And don’t forget to join us inside our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can find encouragement, connection, and support as you learn to pursue health without the obsession. Alright, friend. Let’s get into it!
Can I let you in on a little secret? Healthy eating really isn’t that hard. But we’ve made it hard. We’ve convinced ourselves that eating healthy means spending hours meal prepping every Sunday. It means finding complicated recipes with 17 ingredients that nobody actually wants to eat three days later. It means buying expensive “health foods,” giving up the foods we love, never eating out again, and somehow eating perfectly seven days a week. And then we wonder… “Why can’t I stick with this?” But what if the problem isn’t that you need more willpower? What if you simply need to be more prepared for real life? Because think about what happens when you’re hungry, exhausted, running late, stressed, or juggling a million things. You’re probably not thinking, “Let me make this complicated, perfectly balanced meal from scratch!” You’re thinking, “What can I eat right now?” And in those moments, you’re going to reach for what’s easiest. So instead of expecting yourself to make perfect choices in every situation, what if you started making the healthy choice easier to choose? That’s what we’re talking about today. I’m going to give you three simple ways to prep for healthy eating success—without turning your kitchen into a meal-prep factory and without creating another restrictive diet that you’re going to abandon in a few weeks. Because healthy eating shouldn’t require perfection. It shouldn’t mean following a million rules. And it definitely shouldn’t make you feel like you can’t enjoy your favorite foods or live your life. The goal is to make healthy choices easier—not to make your life harder. So if you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “I know what I should eat, but when life gets busy, I just don’t do it,” this episode is for you. Let’s talk about how a little preparation can help you feel more confident, more consistent, and less overwhelmed when it comes to healthy eating. And if you want some extra support and accountability along the way, I’d love to connect with you. Come join us inside our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can connect with other women who are working through these same struggles. And if you’re ready for more personalized guidance, you can email me at TaraJ@DietDitching.com . I’d love to connect with you and talk about how I can help you on your journey. Now, let’s get into those three simple ways you can start prepping for success.
Let me ask you a question… What do you do when you know you should exercise, but you just don’t feel like it? You know movement is good for you. You know you’ll probably feel better afterward. You might even have your workout clothes sitting right there waiting for you. But you think… “I’ll work out when I have more energy.” “I’ll start again Monday.” “I’m just not motivated right now.” “I really need to get back into a routine.” And then a few days turn into a few weeks. Sound familiar? Here’s what I want you to understand today: You are not always going to feel motivated to exercise. And if your movement routine depends on you feeling motivated first, you’re going to be inconsistent. But that doesn’t mean you’re lazy. It doesn’t mean you lack discipline. And it certainly doesn’t mean you need to push yourself harder. It means you may be relying on the wrong thing. Because the goal isn’t to wake up every morning and somehow manufacture motivation out of thin air. The goal is to learn how to move your body even when motivation isn’t there. And the good news is—you can do that without forcing yourself through workouts you hate or using exercise as punishment for what you ate. Today, I’m going to give you four practical tools you can use to stay active even when you don’t feel motivated. These are simple strategies that can help you make movement a normal part of taking care of your body—not another thing you have to be perfect at. Because exercise doesn't have to be punishment. It doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. And it doesn't have to look like five intense workouts every single week. It can simply become something you do because you value your body and want to take care of it. So if you’ve been stuck in the cycle of “I’ll start Monday,” or you keep waiting until you feel motivated to get moving, this episode is for you. Let’s dive into those four tools and talk about how you can make movement a sustainable part of your life. And if you’re listening and thinking, “Tara, I know what to do. I just need someone to help me actually follow through,” I’d love to help. You can email me at TaraJ@DietDitching.com to connect with me about a discovery call, or head over to DietDitching.com to learn more about working with me. And of course, I’d love to invite you into our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can connect with other women who understand the struggle and are learning to approach weight loss from a place of freedom instead of frustration. Now, let’s get into those four tools.
Have you ever started a weight loss journey feeling so motivated? You clean out the pantry. You plan your meals. You decide you're going to work out five days a week. And for the first few days, you are ALL in. You’re feeling proud. You’re sticking to the plan. You’re convinced, “This time is going to be different.” And then…life happens. The scale doesn’t move as quickly as you hoped. You miss a workout. You eat something that wasn’t on your plan. Maybe you have a stressful day, a busy weekend, or you simply get tired of trying to be “perfect.” And suddenly, that motivation you were counting on is gone. But what if I told you the problem isn’t that you can’t stay motivated? What if the problem is that you’re expecting motivation to carry you through a plan that was never realistic to begin with? Because when your expectations don’t match your real life, disappointment is almost inevitable. You feel discouraged. You feel like you failed. And before you know it, you’re telling yourself, “I’ll start again Monday.” And that’s how the cycle continues. So today, I want to talk about three unrealistic expectations that could be keeping you stuck in the start-over cycle. Because this may not be a motivation problem at all. It may be an expectation problem. And once you can recognize these three expectations, you can start approaching weight loss in a completely different way—one that actually works with your life instead of requiring you to constantly start over. So let’s dive into the three expectations that might be keeping you stuck. And if you know you need more accountability and support as you work through this, I’d love to have you join us inside my Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free. And if you’re ready for more personalized support, I also offer one-on-one coaching. I’d love to help you stop feeling like you have to keep starting over and instead build the confidence, habits, and freedom to finally move toward your goals in a way that lasts. Email me at taraj@dietditching.com or come over to my website, www.dietditching.com to learn more about me and what I offer.
What if the hardest part of your weight loss journey isn’t actually losing the weight? What if the hardest part is believing that once your body changes, you’ll finally feel worthy, confident, accepted, or enough? Maybe you’ve thought, “I’ll feel so much better about myself when I lose 20 pounds.” Or, “When I finally fit into that outfit, I’ll feel confident again.” Or maybe you’ve told yourself, “Once I can control my eating, then I’ll finally feel disciplined.” And friend, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be healthier. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight, feel stronger, or take better care of your body. The problem is when we start believing our body has the power to determine our worth. Because it doesn’t. Your weight doesn’t make you more valuable. Your clothing size doesn’t make you more lovable. And the number on the scale doesn’t determine whether you’re enough. So what if instead of spending all your energy trying to change your body so you can finally feel good enough, you started renewing your mind and replacing those lies with what God says is actually true about you? That’s what I want to talk about today. Because your identity was never meant to be built on your body. Your worth comes from who God says you are. And if you’ve been struggling with this—if you keep setting weight loss goals, falling off track, feeling discouraged, and telling yourself you’ll just start over again—I want you to know you are not alone. I want to invite you to my upcoming FREE workshop: “Why I Keep Starting Over with My Weight Loss Goals and How to Finally Break the Cycle.” We’re meeting Wednesday, September 2nd at 8 PM Eastern on Zoom. If you’re ready to stop chasing a future version of yourself and start walking in the freedom God has already given you, I want you there. Go to DietDitching.com, click on Free Workshop, enter your information, and get on the list today. I want you to find freedom—not just from the cycle of starting over, but from believing you have to change your body to finally be enough.
Have you ever stepped on the scale, seen a number you didn’t like, and suddenly felt like your entire day was ruined? Maybe you immediately started replaying everything you ate the day before. You felt disappointed. You told yourself you need to work harder, eat less, or exercise more. Or maybe that one number made you feel like you’d completely blown it. But here’s the question I want you to think about: Why does a number on a scale have so much power over how you feel about yourself? The problem may not actually be the scale. It may be the meaning we’ve learned to attach to the number. A number is simply information. It doesn’t tell you whether you’re disciplined. It doesn’t determine your worth. And it certainly doesn’t tell you whether you’re succeeding or failing. Today, I want to help you start separating your worth from your weight so you can stop letting the scale dictate your mood, your choices, or your confidence. And if you’re tired of feeling like you’re constantly starting over with your weight, food, and fitness, I want to invite you to my FREE workshop, “Why I Keep Starting Over and How to Break the Cycle.” We’re meeting Wednesday, September 2nd at 8 PM Eastern on Zoom, and we’re going to talk about why this cycle keeps happening—and, more importantly, how you can finally break free from it. So if you’ve ever let the number on the scale determine how you feel about yourself, this workshop is for you. Head over to DietDitching.com, click on Free Workshop, and put your name and email on the list. I would absolutely love to have you there. Let’s stop starting over and start walking in freedom instead!
Have you ever wondered if your workout routine needs to change now that you’re over 30? Maybe you’ve started thinking, “My metabolism is slowing down, so I probably need to exercise more.” So you add more cardio, more workouts, more time at the gym—and somehow, you’re still not getting the results you want. Or maybe you’re on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Your life is already packed with work, family, responsibilities, and everything else on your plate, and the thought of adding another hour at the gym feels completely overwhelming. But what if neither of those approaches is actually what you need? Today on this Fit Tip Friday episode, we’re talking about what really matters when it comes to exercise after 30—and why more exercise isn’t necessarily the answer. So many women fall into one of two camps: they either believe they have to work harder and longer to lose weight, or they become so overwhelmed by what they think they should be doing that they struggle to exercise consistently at all. And friend, I want you to know there’s another way. Today, I’m going to walk you through what your body actually needs from exercise after 30 so you can support your goals, build strength, feel energized, and create a routine that actually fits into your real life. And if consistency is something you struggle with—not just with exercise, but with healthy habits in general—I want to invite you to my free workshop, “Why I Keep Starting Over and How to Break the Cycle,” on Wednesday, September 2nd at 8 p.m. Eastern on Zoom. If you’re tired of constantly starting over and wondering why you can’t seem to stick with anything, this workshop is for you. We’re going to dive deeper into why you keep getting stuck and, more importantly, what you can do to finally move forward. Just head over to DietDitching.com, click on Free Workshop, and enter your name and email to get registered. But first, let’s talk about exercise after 30—and what you really need to reach your goals without spending your life working out. Let’s get started!
What if being hungry all the time isn't a sign that you need more willpower? What if it's actually a sign that you're not eating enough? Maybe you've been taught to believe that hunger means your diet is working. So you skip breakfast because you're "saving calories." You eat a tiny lunch because you want to "be good." You tell yourself you can make it until dinner. But then dinner rolls around—and you're absolutely starving. You're thinking about food all afternoon. You eat more than you planned. Maybe you go back for seconds, reach for something sweet, or find yourself standing in the kitchen looking for anything else to eat. And then comes the guilt. "I have no self-control." "Why can't I just stick to my plan?" "I was doing so good!" But what if your problem isn't a lack of self-control? What if you've simply been asking your body to function on too little food for too long? Today, we're talking about undereating, skipping meals, constant hunger, and why eating less isn't always the answer when you're trying to lose weight. Because here's something I want you to consider: the strategy you think is helping you lose weight may actually be making it harder to stay consistent. When you're constantly hungry, food takes up more space in your mind. Your cravings can feel stronger. And eventually, the restriction catches up with you—which can leave you feeling like you've failed yet again. And friend, you haven't failed. There may be a better way to approach weight loss—one that doesn't require you to walk around hungry all day or constantly fight your appetite. And if you're ready to understand the why behind your constant hunger and the cycle of starting over, I want to invite you to join me for my free live workshop on September 2nd. It's called "Why You Keep Starting Over With Your Weight Loss Goals and How to Finally Break the Cycle." We're going much deeper into why you keep finding yourself stuck in that cycle of restriction, overeating, guilt, and starting over—and, more importantly, how to finally break free from it. It's completely free, and all you have to do is head over to DietDitching.com, click on Free Workshop, enter your name and email, and you're on the list. You'll receive the Zoom link by email after you register. So if you're tired of being hungry all day, thinking about food all day, and then feeling guilty every time you finally eat, I want you in this workshop. Go to DietDitching.com, click Free Workshop, and come join me on September 2nd. I can't wait to see you there!
What if your struggle with food and your weight has less to do with self-control—and more to do with the way you’ve been trying to use it? Maybe you’ve been telling yourself, “I just need more discipline.” “I need more self-control.” “If I were really committed to taking care of my body, I wouldn’t struggle with this.” And so you try harder. You restrict. You push through cravings. You feel guilty when you don’t make the “right” choice. You promise yourself you’ll do better tomorrow. But eventually, you get exhausted. And as Christian women, there’s another layer to this. Because self-control is a good thing. It’s actually a fruit of the Spirit. But what happens when something God intended for our freedom becomes another measuring stick we use to decide whether we’re good enough? Suddenly, taking care of our health isn’t about stewardship—it’s about striving. It’s not about grace—it’s about getting it right. And maybe without even realizing it, you’ve started believing that God is more pleased with you when you eat perfectly, exercise consistently, or have enough discipline to say no to every craving. But is that actually what biblical self-control looks like? Is self-control about white-knuckling your way through every craving? Is it about never overeating, never missing a workout, never eating the foods you’ve labeled “bad,” and always making the perfect choice? Or could biblical self-control be something much deeper? Today, I want to take you back to what God actually says about self-control—and help you understand the difference between grace and striving when it comes to your health, your body, your relationship with food, and your weight-loss goals. Because what if you don’t need to try harder to become the woman God wants you to be? What if you need to learn how to live from the grace He’s already given you? I want you to stick with me today, because I think this conversation could completely change the way you think about self-control. And before we dive in, I also want to personally invite you to my free live workshop on September 2nd at 8 p.m. Eastern, happening on Zoom. We’re going to spend about an hour talking about something I know so many women are struggling with: Why do I keep starting over with my weight-loss goals—and how do I finally break the cycle? If you’re tired of constantly promising yourself that tomorrow will be different, I would love to have you there. Just go to dietditching.com, click on Free Workshop, and get yourself on the list. It’s completely free. So, grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s talk about what biblical self-control really looks like—and what happens when we stop striving and start living from grace.
What if the very rules you’re following to lose weight are actually the things keeping you stuck? Think about some of the rules you may have made for yourself: “I don’t eat after 7.” “I can’t have carbs.” “I have to be good Monday through Friday.” “I shouldn’t eat dessert.” “I already messed up, so I might as well keep eating.” “I’ll start over tomorrow.” Sound familiar? And maybe you’ve never even thought of these as diet rules because they’ve become so normal. You’ve followed them for so long that they just feel like the way you’re supposed to eat. But here’s the problem: the more rules you create around food, the more mental space food begins to take up. You spend your day thinking about what you can eat, what you can’t eat, whether you’ve been “good” or “bad,” and whether you’ve already messed up. And eventually, you eat the thing you told yourself you couldn’t have. Then comes the guilt. You tell yourself, “Well, I already blew it.” So you eat more. And tomorrow? You make another rule. Maybe you’ll be stricter. Maybe you’ll cut out more foods. Maybe you’ll start over Monday. And before you know it, you’re right back in the same cycle—restrict, obsess, overeat, feel guilty, and start over. But what if the problem isn’t that you need more discipline? What if the problem is the rules themselves? In today’s episode, we’re going to uncover some of those hidden diet rules you may not even realize you’re following—and how they could be keeping you trapped in the diet mentality and making sustainable weight loss harder than it needs to be. And I want to go even deeper with you on this. On September 2nd at 8 p.m. Eastern, I’m hosting a free live workshop on Zoom where we’ll dive deeper into this cycle of starting over and what it actually takes to break free from it. If you’re tired of constantly feeling like you need to start over, I would love for you to join me. Just head to dietditching.com, click on Free Workshop, and save your spot. Because you don’t need another set of rules. You need a new way of thinking about food, your body, and your health. So let’s get into today’s episode—and uncover the rules that might be keeping you stuck without you even realizing it.
Ever miss a workout and instantly think, “Well, I blew it”? Maybe you planned to work out Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Monday went great, but Wednesday got hectic and you skipped it. Instead of saying, “No big deal, I’ll work out tomorrow,” your mind starts making excuses: “I already missed Wednesday,” “I’m off track,” or “I’ll just start again Monday.” Before you know it, one missed workout turns into four days, a week, or even a month of doing nothing. The real issue isn’t missing the workout—it’s what you tell yourself about it. If you’ve been stuck in the all-or-nothing cycle of being fully “on” or completely “off,” know that this isn’t a fitness problem—it’s a mindset problem. Let’s talk about why all-or-nothing thinking keeps you stuck and how to finally break free from it. If you find yourself saying, "This is me", then my Free Workshop is for YOU! I want to invite you in and let's go deeper. Email me at taraj@dietditching.com and get on the list!
Have you ever told yourself, "This time is going to be different"? You start Monday motivated. You clean out the pantry, make a meal plan, promise yourself you're going to workout every day - and for a little while, things feel good. Until life happens. You miss a workout. You eat something you didn't plan to eat. You have a stressful day. You step on the scale and you don't like what you see. And suddenly, you find yourself saying those familiar words: "I'll start again Monday" If you've been caught up in this cycle for years, I want you to hear this: You don't need another Monday. You need to understand why you keep starting over. Because the problem may not be your lack of discipline, your willpower, or even your food choices. There may be something much deeper keeping you stuck. And that's exactly what we're going to talk about today. If this is where you find yourself, needing to finally stop the starting over, I want to invite you to join me for my Free Workshop coming September 2. We'll be diving deeper together to help equip you to FINALLY break this cycle! Email me at taraj@dietditching.com for more information!
What if the woman you've been striving so hard to become...is the woman God already says you are? Think about that for a second. So many women live with the belief, "I'll be more confident when I lose the weight." Or, "I'll finally start serving once I feel comfortable in my body." Maybe you've even told yourself, "When I reach my goal weight, then I'll believe I'm enough." But what if those thoughts have been keeping you stuck? The truth is, the enemy loves to convince us that our identity is always one achievement away. One smaller clothing size. One lower number on the scale. One more accomplishment. Because as long as we're chasing a future version of ourselves, we're distracted from living in the identity God has already given us. Friend, your worth was never something you had to earn. Your confidence doesn't come from your body—it comes from Christ. Your purpose isn't waiting for you at your goal weight. And your calling has never depended on fitting into your old jeans. Today, we're talking about what it really means to become the woman God created you to be—not someday, not after you lose 20 pounds, but right now. Because when you begin living from your God-given identity instead of striving to earn it, everything changes...including the way you approach your health. Before we dive in, I want to invite you to something special. On September 2nd, I'm hosting a FREE live workshop on Zoom where we'll talk about how to finally break free from the exhausting start-over cycle with food and weight loss. If you're tired of starting over every Monday, every month, or every season, this workshop is for you. You'll learn practical, faith-based strategies to help you build lasting freedom instead of relying on willpower. And if you're looking for encouragement throughout the week, come join our free Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free. It's a place where women encourage one another, grow in their faith, and pursue healthy living without obsession. Finally, if you're ready for personalized support and accountability, I'd love to walk alongside you through my Ditch the Diet one-on-one coaching program. You can reach me anytime at taraj@dietditching.com . Now, let's dive into today's episode.
Hey friend! Can you believe we're already talking about September? Seriously...where did the summer go? It feels like every year it sneaks up on us. Summer vacations come to an end, the kids head back to school, routines start falling back into place, and suddenly there's that little voice in your head saying, "Okay...September 1st. That's when I'll get serious. That's when I'll finally get back on track." But if you've been stuck in the start-over cycle, you probably already know how that story ends. You spend the rest of the summer telling yourself, "I'll just enjoy myself now. I'll be good later." Then September arrives, you're trying to overhaul everything overnight, and within a few weeks you're feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, and wondering why you can't seem to stick with it. Friend, what if this year could be different? What if, instead of waiting for September to magically motivate you, you used these last few weeks of summer to build momentum? Imagine walking into September already feeling confident, already building healthy habits, instead of feeling like you're starting from scratch...again. That's exactly what we're talking about today. In this episode, I'm going to share what you can start doing right now so you can avoid the September restart trap and finally build consistency that lasts. And if you're looking for a little extra accountability, I'd love to connect with you. You can always reach me at taraj@dietditching.com . Also, mark your calendar for September 2nd! I'm hosting a FREE virtual workshop all about breaking the start-over cycle once and for all. We'll dive deeper into why it keeps happening and, more importantly, how to finally break free from it. I can't wait to see you there!
Have you ever felt like you're doing everything you're supposed to do to lose weight—eating less, walking more, squeezing in cardio whenever you can—yet the scale barely budges? Or maybe it does...for a little while. But before long, the weight finds its way back. If that's your story, I want you to know you're not alone. And today's episode is for you. What if the missing piece isn't another diet or more hours on the treadmill? What if it's time to pick up some heavier weights? Today, we're talking about why strength training is one of the most powerful tools for sustainable fat loss—especially for women over 30. We'll cover why so many women shy away from lifting heavier, what "lifting heavy" actually means (because it's probably not what you think), and how building muscle can transform not only your metabolism, but also your confidence, your strength, and your long-term health. By the end of this episode, I hope you'll feel empowered to stop fearing the weight room and start seeing strength training as one of the best investments you can make in your health. And if you're ready for personalized guidance and want help creating a nutrition and strength plan that actually fits your life, I'd love to work with you. Now, let's jump into today's episode!
Maybe you've blamed yourself for eating the cookie, skipping meal prep, or pulling into the fast-food drive-thru after a long, exhausting day. You tell yourself that if you could just be more disciplined, you'd finally stay consistent with healthy eating. But what if that's not actually the problem? What if you've been relying on the wrong thing all along? In today's episode, I'm sharing four practical strategies that will help you eat healthy consistently—not by trying harder or relying on more willpower, but by building habits that actually fit your real life. Because lasting consistency doesn't come from being perfect. It comes from creating a plan that works with your life instead of constantly fighting against it. So if you're tired of starting over every Monday, tired of feeling like you're always "getting back on track," and you're ready for a sustainable approach to healthy eating, this episode is for you. And if you've been listening, putting these strategies into practice, and you're still struggling to find consistency, you don't have to figure it out alone. I'd love to help you inside my Ditch the Diet one-on-one coaching program. You can reach me at TaraJ@DietDitching.com to learn more. Now, let's dive into today's episode.
Have you ever caught yourself thinking, "I'll finally be happy when I lose the weight"? Or maybe, "Once I hit that number on the scale, then I'll finally feel confident." Maybe your mood rises and falls based on what the scale says each morning. Maybe you spend more time counting calories than you do talking to God. Or perhaps your thoughts about food, exercise, and your body have quietly become the thing that consumes your mind, your emotions, and even your sense of identity. If that's you, I want you to know something—you are not alone. I've been there too. Today's episode isn't about guilt or shame. It's about freedom. We're going to wrestle with a difficult but incredibly important question: Has weight loss become an idol in your life? That may sound like a strong question, but I want you to stay with me. Because sometimes even good things—like wanting to be healthier, stronger, or lose weight—can slowly begin to take the place that only God was meant to fill. Today we'll explore what Scripture says about renewing our minds, why our hearts can so easily attach our worth to our bodies, and how to pursue health in a way that honors God without making our weight our identity. Because here's the truth: Your value was never meant to be measured by a number on the scale. Your identity has already been secured in Christ. So if you're ready to stop striving for your worth and start living from the identity God has already given you, then this episode is for you. I'm so glad you're here. And if anything in today's conversation resonates with you, I would love to hear from you. If you'd like prayer or simply want someone to walk alongside you, you can email me at taraj@dietditching.com . And don't forget to join our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you'll find encouragement, support, and other women who are learning to pursue health with freedom instead of fear. Now, let's dive in.
Have you ever told yourself, "I'll just have one cookie," only to realize you've eaten three... or somehow the entire package? And then the guilt sets in. You wonder, "Why can't I just have more self-control? What's wrong with me?" If you've ever had those thoughts, I want you to know something: you're not alone. And this episode is especially for you. Because here's what most women don't realize: it's probably not because you love cookies too much, and it's probably not because you don't have enough willpower. There's a much deeper reason. It's called a scarcity mindset, and if you've spent years dieting, restricting foods, or telling yourself certain foods are "off limits," there's a good chance it's been quietly shaping the way you think about food without you even realizing it. In today's episode, we're talking about why restriction actually makes food feel more irresistible, how years of dieting can train your brain to overeat, and the simple mindset shifts that can help you finally experience peace around food—without relying on endless willpower. So if you're tired of feeling guilty every time dessert is involved, or you're exhausted from feeling like food has more control over you than you'd like, stay with me. I think today's conversation might completely change the way you see your struggles with food. And before we dive in, if you're ready to stop just listening and start putting these principles into practice with personalized support, I'd love to walk alongside you through my one-on-one Ditch the Diet Coaching program.
