The Becket Cook Show was created by Becket Cook to discuss relevant topics and to crush the lies of culture with truth. Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from college, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually became a production designer working on fashion shoots for brands such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike. Becket lived as a gay man until 2009, when he reluctantly agreed to attend a church service at which he was transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping people understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.

Raised in a Christian home in Nashville, Jess spent 15 years as a prodigal living as a gay man in London—pursuing drama school, intense same-sex relationships, the party scene, drugs, Pride celebrations, and even occult practices—before hitting rock bottom and rediscovering the Bible. This raw, honest conversation explores his journey from the LGBTQ lifestyle to freedom in Jesus Christ, the conflict between flesh and Spirit from Galatians 5, leaving behind a life of bondage, and why he now boldly declares that "being gay is a colossal waste of time." Warning: some moments get graphic and spicy, but the story of transformation, reconciliation, and eternal hope will leave you inspired. Don't miss this life-changing ex-gay testimony! In today's episode, Becket Cook sits down with Larry Alex Taunton, author, columnist for The Federalist, and host of the podcast Ideas Have Consequences, to discuss his insightful article, "Outrage Over Texas Teaching the Bible is Anti-Intellectual." They unpack the Texas State Board of Education's decision to include Bible sections in the K-12 curriculum, exploring why this move is essential for understanding Western civilization, literature, history, and moral foundations. From Forest McDonald's lessons on intellectual honesty to the Bible's influence on figures like Shakespeare, Faulkner, Mark Twain, and the Declaration of Independence, this conversation reveals how biblical literacy shapes everything from capitalism and science to human rights and restraint on evil impulses. Larry Alex Taunton and Becket Cook also address leftist outrage, Drag Queen Story Hour, Richard Dawkins' evolving views on Christianity vs. Islam, and why removing the Bible from public schools has led to cultural decline since 1963. Perfect for fans of Christian apologetics, education reform, Western history, and conservative thought, this episode makes a compelling case for the Bible as the "prequel to everything" in the West. From being sexually abused by family members between the ages of 5 and 12, to a life of extreme promiscuity, prostitution, and over 600 same-sex partners, Carlos spiraled into sex addiction and suicidal despair. After a radical encounter with Jesus through "The Passion of the Christ," years of legalism and failed attempts to change left him empty—until he fully surrendered his life and stopped obsessing over his attractions. What God did next was miraculous. Today Carlos is happily married to a beautiful woman, a proud father of twins (with a third on the way), and living in complete freedom. West, author of Endowed by Our Creator: The Bible, Science, and the Battle for America's Soul. Marking America's 250th anniversary, they unpack the Declaration of Independence's timeless truths—that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—rooted in biblical principles, natural law, and the founders' belief in objective morality. West reveals how these "self-evident" ideas made America a unique creed-based nation and why surveys show most Americans today misunderstand or reject their divine source. The discussion contrasts the American founding with the French Revolution's utopian failures, then traces how 19th-century Darwinian evolution undermined human equality, objective morality, human exceptionalism, and consent-based government—fueling racism, eugenics, moral relativism, and technocratic rule. Yet West offers hope: modern science increasingly reaffirms a Creator, human dignity, and the Declaration's core truths. Aaron shares why he became a “theologian in academic exile,” explains how progressive theology often pits Jesus vs. Paul to reinterpret Scripture, and explores why that approach ultimately undermines biblical authority and historic Christian teaching. In today's episode, Becket Cook welcomes back biblical scholar Denny Burke—professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood—to unpack a viral Joe Rogan clip where Texas Democrat U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico claims the Bible is pro-choice. Talarico argues that God asked Mary for consent before the incarnation in Luke 1, framing creation and pregnancy as requiring freedom and bodily autonomy. Burke dismantles this interpretation, showing it's a clear distortion: the Annunciation is God's sovereign announcement, not a negotiation, and Mary's response is humble submission as the Lord's bond-slave. They also refute the outdated "life begins at first breath" claim from Genesis 2:7, highlight the unborn's personhood in Luke (John leaping for joy in Elizabeth's womb), and warn how this eisegesis promotes theological liberalism with destructive consequences for life, marriage, and family. If you're exploring faith, politics, abortion rights, or biblical fidelity amid viral debates, this episode clarifies why Scripture consistently affirms the sanctity of unborn life.
