Twice Exceptional: Exploring and Living with Neurodiversity

Neurodivergent students often face difficulties when preparing for standardized tests. In this episode, Cate tackles if there is a need for standardized testing, how to set up accommodations for the SAT/ACT, and a few study tips for neurodiverse students. To help address these topics, Cate is joined by her sister Grace Dunn, founder of Crownridge Coaching. Grace is a National Merit Scholar who scored a perfect 800 on SAT Math and earned early admission to Columbia University. Grace specializes in elite, one-on-one SAT, ACT, and PSAT tutoring for high-achieving students — including those whose scores don't yes reflect their capabilities. College is a big change for any student, but the process can be even more difficult for the neurodiverse. In this episode, Cate is joined by Coach Jo, an education consultant who specializes in working with neurodivergent kids, to discuss finding the right college for you, and how to make the college transition as smooth as possible.

Everyone loves to see themselves represented in media. In this episode, Cate spoke to Nicola Rose, director of the movie Magnetosphere, a movie about a teenage girl with synesthesia. They talk about what synesthesia is and how to what it means to see yourself represented in the media you consume.
