The Red Sox are preparing for the post season after a lazy week of baseball. Uninspired, really. After a useless flight to Tampa for game 162, the Sox get ready for game one in the Bronx. The Red Sox won the series against the Royals and Payton Tolle pitched an immaculate inning. The only other person in Red Sox history to do that in the first inning is Pedro Martinez. The Red Sox play a weird week of baseball. The Marlins are not a great team. The Yankees should not be that scary. Ceddanne seemed a bit off-kilter. The Red Sox look alive. They are winning outright, by a little and a lot. Jack Webster jumps on for a solo piece. His baseball knowledge far exceeds that of this writer (Ian). One could call him a "ball-knower". Brilliant performances this week from guys like Payton Tolle, Nick Sogard. The Sox continue to move full steam ahead. Control your own destiny, boys. There is a "Fourth Out" rule in Baseball. I think they're just making stuff up at this point. Good thing we won that gam~ touches ear piece you're kidding me. Forget the Blue Jays series, let's talk about the Pirates serie~ touches ear piece oh come on! Jack attended PNC Park, his 10th ballpark. Raymond Burgos, the king of Oaxaca Mexico, was there, in all his glory. Worcester is in bloom this time of year, all of the prospects are starting to flourish. We consider which ones are worth looking at. https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. It's time to pick a soccer team. There are so many premier league teams to pick from, we had to call in a favor from our friends at Pod On Lansdowne. Jack makes #thedecision tonight. Fitzy Mo Pena comes to the show with some teams for Jack to consider, tiered to your liking. It is a thinker, a true head scratcher, as Jack puts his allegiance on the line. Who will it be? Chelsea? Man U? Arsenal? Leeds? Listen to find out! https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Red Sox this week played the White Sox and the Athletics. Reminder: you could not pay me to care about Jordan Hicks. With the Red Sox sweep of the White Sox, we also saw a multi-extra-inning comeback game. 14 innings of the Red Sox throwing the kitchen sink at winning a series. So far, it is the Red Sox game of the year. Next up, Payton Tolle. With a legendary performance. With catcher Jake Rogers. Who raked at Fenway. Call him Rake Rogers. Don't even worry about the rest of the series. https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Craig Breslow redeemed himself from last year. He got uncomfortable, he was decisive, and he was aggressive. We grade his deadline performance on a pitch count. Today's most notable haul was Orioles' catcher, 3x all-star Adley Rutschman. The Sox paid a hefty price that included Carlos Narvaez and top 100 prospect Anthony Eyanson back in the deal, but to quote Tom Caron, "I want parades, not prospects." A few other interesting but acceptable moves occurred today that brought lefty reliever Erick Miller and outfielder Eli White to Boston. We also reference the recent performance of the team, sweeping the Dodgers so bad that they had to acquire Tarik Skubal. https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Up next - ten incredibly exciting days of baseball transactions. Craig Breslow has something to prove, having botched last year's trade deadline. He flipped it all around setting the market early. Obviously acquiring Mead was big, but we think the Sox have more in store. This team, somehow, is a winning team again. The gang is contributing with the gloves, with the bats, who has it better than us? Also, a week of game time starting at 9:40pm EST, who has it worse than us? https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The first big move of the Red Sox trade season, Connelly Early is traded to the Washington Nationals in exchange for infielder Curtis Mead. Jack jumps on for a solo, instant reaction to the trade. It would have been awesome to keep Early but there is a lot of opportunity to wait and see if Curtis Mead can keep up his offensive breakout. #waitandsee https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Lucky Number 13, and the Red Sox are on a tear. An eventful two weeks and the boys are back in a wild card spot. Willson Contreras continues to show this team love, and Wilyer Abreu is starting to catch fire. After a 4-game sweep of the 1st place Rays maybe this team has a little more spark in them than we gave them credit for. You've talked the fanbase into buying at the deadline. We polled some ideas from the Red Sox Twitter Hive Mind, helmed by the podcasters. We give you YOUR trade ideas. Jack gives you his. https://linktr.ee/nasppodcast Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
The Red Sox are red hot. Nine wins going into the All Star break, even with injuries galore. Sure, sweeping the Angels, White Sox, and Mets may not be a true test, but to stack nine wins in the win column will be huge for this team over the next month. And you've still got your horses coming back. Our current rotation is Sonny Gray, Payton Tolle, Jake Bennett, and Patrick Sandoval. Even Bello is showing some signs of life. How blessed are we. Can this team get back in it? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
