Catherine explores a paradox: how can we grow and change without making ourselves wrong or trying to become somebody different? Drawing on an Enlightenment Intensive workshop she attended years ago, she asks whether we can give up wanting to change and instead surrender to accepting ourselves and our lives as they are. She suggests that our power lies in being present with what is true now, rather than fighting with ourselves. Catherine distinguishes between working on aspects of our behaviour and trying to change who we fundamentally are. She uses her own capacity for being bossy as an example, and explains how accepting that part of herself actually reduced its hold on her and created more freedom to choose how she behaved. She also explores this through the metaphor of a garden. We can remove dead growth, clear paths and help the roses thrive without believing the garden is fundamentally broken. In the same way, we can work on our relationships, behaviour, attitudes or knowledge from a place of self-trust and acceptance. The invitation is to surrender into exactly who you are now, while remaining free to learn, grow and make changes by choice rather than from a belief that you need fixing. #SelfAcceptance #PersonalGrowth #Presence ================== Where our conversation went: 00:09 Changing without trying to change 00:25 Giving up wanting to change 01:05 Where our power really is 01:28 Accepting the parts of ourselves we struggle with 02:34 Why Catherine works with change 03:07 What we miss when trying to be somebody else 03:48 Working on something without needing to be different 04:14 Changing from a place of self-trust 05:07 Behaviour is not the essence of who we are 05:33 The garden as a metaphor for ourselves 07:44 The difference between working on something and changing who we are 08:10 Could you give up wanting to change? 08:17 Surrendering while still choosing to grow #SelfAcceptance #PersonalGrowth #Presence #podmatch ======================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Catherine welcomes Nedjma Belaid, who guides self-aware women to release roles, protections and conditioning that no longer serve them and reconnect with their truth. A former pharmacist and Tony Robbins coach, Nedjma is a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP master practitioner and trainer. She has facilitated over 2,500 transformational sessions and continues her own journey in deep inner alchemy. She created the Sacred Undressing Journey and the Five-Pointed Star Path to help women become aligned and turned on through high consciousness leadership. Nedjma describes the “fire within” as the spark that leads us towards what inspires us and creates aliveness. They explore her journey from mathematics and pharmacy to coaching, the courage to leave secure careers, and the challenge of knowing when something is truly not aligned rather than simply uncomfortable. They discuss self-selection, why seekers may need a path rather than a promised result, and how Nedjma's Sacred Undressing Journey helps people uncover layers of conditioning, wounds, coping mechanisms and limiting beliefs through four archetypes: the Sovereign, Warrior, Lover and Mystic. #FireWithin #SelfDiscovery #ConsciousLeadership ================== Where our conversation went: 01:55 The fire within and what it means 03:10 Choosing a path that feels alive 04:24 From pharmacy to personal development 06:00 Leaving a secure career to follow the spark 08:11 Becoming a Tony Robbins coach 13:50 Leaving Tony Robbins and following the next shift 16:11 What was making coaching feel misaligned 21:20 Creating a different coaching model 24:00 Working with seekers and self-selection 26:29 Why results are not the whole point 31:29 The Sacred Undressing Journey 32:58 The Sovereign, Warrior, Lover and Mystic 35:15 Building a business that feels aligned 38:44 Discernment, fear and knowing what is truly aligned 42:08 A message for people following their own path #Surrender #Intuition #SelfDiscovery #podmatch Where to find Nedjma Belaid: https://withkindawareness.substack.com ======================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
In this episode of Truth and Transcendence, Catherine explores attraction and the law of attraction from her particular point of view. What are we attracting towards us right now? And what would we like to attract? Rather than approaching attraction as simply thinking positively or believing hard enough that we will get what we want, Catherine invites us to treat it as an experiment: what if everything in our lives is something we have attracted towards us? Not as a reason for blame, but as an opportunity to become more conscious of the energy, vibration and messages we are expressing. She explores the relationship between what we do and who we are, the importance of embodying the qualities we want to attract, clearing unhelpful conditioning and questioning our beliefs. She also shares a simple practice for noticing what we are attracting in each moment—and why humour and having fun may be some of the most powerful ingredients of all. #attraction #consciousness #selfawareness ================== Where our conversation went: 00:10 – What is attraction, and what attracts what? 00:42 – The different levels of attraction. 01:35 – What are we attracting towards us? 01:53 – A thought experiment: what if everything in our lives has been attracted by us? 02:51 – Moving beyond blame and treating the idea as an experiment. 03:12 – Seeing ourselves as an energetic beacon or magnet. 03:31 – What would we like to attract, and what vibration would support that? 03:45 – Embodying what we want to attract. 04:21 – Attraction is about being as well as doing. 04:44 – Letting go of unhelpful habits, conditioning and beliefs. 05:37 – Why attraction cannot be created through the mind alone. 06:35 – Checking in with what we are attracting in each moment. 07:10 – Attraction as an ongoing, moving feast—and the importance of humour. 07:21 – Having fun and interrupting patterns that attract what we don't want. 07:57 – A final invitation to have fun and attract what you want. #podmatch #attraction #consciousness #selfawareness Where to find Catherine: https://www.beingspace.world ========================= ✦ Make the most of your calling Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://differentpointspodcast.com ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: / https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: / https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world/ ✦ Facebook: / https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: / https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Catherine welcomes spiritual seeker, teacher and author Indra Rinzler to explore consciousness, intuition, surrender and living beyond conditioned stories. Indra explores “all is divinity” — moving beyond seeing everything through the lens of “me”. They discuss observing thoughts and feelings without having to believe or act on them, and allowing opposing truths to coexist. Indra shares stories from his spiritual journey, including 20 years in a spiritual community, travelling the world and an experience in New Zealand of deep completeness. He describes learning to make decisions from intuition and explores surrender as releasing control and the need to be in charge. They also explore his work with Vedic astrology, the Enneagram, astrocartography and the Wheel of Totality, and the story behind Indra’s Net. The episode closes with Indra’s message to open your heart and see yourself as a vehicle through which something greater can move. #AllIsDivinity #Spirituality #Consciousness ================== Where our conversation went: 00:33 What does “all is divinity” mean? 05:13 Observing thoughts without believing them 05:50 Allowing opposing truths to coexist 09:12 Discovering metaphysical bookstores 12:50 Leaving the spiritual community and travelling 14:01 Experiencing completeness in New Zealand 15:39 Making decisions through intuition 20:41 What surrender means 24:03 How Indra came to his work with readings 26:58 Writing Indra’s Net “through” rather than “from” himself 31:15 Living in the place of not knowing 32:14 A book that invites reflection rather than easy answers 35:45 A message for people following a spiritual calling 37:00 Being a vehicle rather than the source 41:01 Closing thoughts and blessings #Surrender #Intuition #IndrasNet #podmatch Where to find Indra Rinzler: https://truthandtranscendence.com https://indrarinzler.com Get Indra’s book, Indra’s Net, and explore his work with Vedic astrology, the Enneagram, astrocartography and the Wheel of Totality. ======================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
In this episode of Truth and Transcendence, Catherine explores “wormholes” as a metaphor for unexpected openings within companies, organisations and other complex systems that can create a much quicker route from A to B. A wormhole might be a junior person reaching the CEO with an important message, or an unexpected connection providing exactly the knowledge needed to unlock a problem. The key is recognising that possibilities can exist beyond established structures. Catherine explores how wormholes may reveal themselves through unexpected conversations, connections or emerging groups, and invites us to stay receptive rather than dismissing developments simply because they were unplanned. It is a playful exploration of organisational change, possibility and emergence – and the idea that the quickest route through a complex system may not be the official one. #Wormholes #OrganisationalChange #Leadership ================== Where our conversation went: 00:01 Welcome to Truth and Transcendence 00:09 What is a wormhole? 01:04 Wormholes in companies, organisations, cultures and countries 01:38 Discovering organisational wormholes through change work 02:10 How you know when you have found a wormhole 02:54 A junior employee reaching the CEO 03:00 Unexpected connections that unlock organisational problems 03:32 What makes an organisational wormhole surprising and unpredictable 03:47 Why analysis alone will not necessarily reveal a wormhole 04:09 Believing that unexpected possibilities can exist 04:54 How entrenched cultures can cause organisations to miss opportunities 05:23 Opening up to wormholes in complex situations 05:40 Recognising the signs that a wormhole may be opening 06:07 Using unexpected connections to create new possibilities 06:10 The invitation to play with the idea Where to find more episodes: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://different-points-podcast.com/ ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate

Catherine Llewellyn shares lessons she learned from a long and successful career as an executive coach working at Board level in large corporates. Her work brought together consciousness, self awareness, presence, energy and spirituality, alongside organisational change and business performance. She explains how introductions opened the door to corporate clients, why finding out what people actually want is more effective than trying to persuade them to buy what you are offering, and how to use skill, authenticity and courage to build trust. The episode offers practical reflections for anyone working with, or wanting to work with, corporate clients. It explores introductions, authentic contracting, balanced cooperation and the importance of consciously reviewing what is happening within the client relationship #CorporateClients #ExecutiveCoaching #Consulting ================== Where our conversation went: 00:55 How Catherine came to work with senior corporate clients 01:41 The three things that enabled Catherine to enter and succeed in the corporate world 01:59 Why introductions can open doors to corporate clients 03:18 The potential downside when sales and delivery are disconnected 05:13 Finding out what clients actually want rather than persuading them to buy 06:38 Why manipulation does not work and authenticity does 08:15 The importance of meaningful work and positive experiences for senior executives 09:44 Developing an offering that genuinely helps clients achieve what they want 10:48 Trust, skill and courageous communication 11:49 Leaving the organisation and setting up independently 12:18 The research question that led Catherine to interview senior executives 13:14 Interviewing 39 people across around 30 organisations 14:30 What the research revealed about consultant client relationships 14:49 The unconscious parent child dynamic between consultant and client 16:24 Why unconscious role patterns can create problems 17:57 Subpersonalities and the different wants and needs people bring to a working relationship 19:27 Three practical considerations for anyone working with corporate clients 20:05 Creating mutual, balanced cooperation 20:12 Building review and reassessment into the contract 20:30 Recognising unconscious dynamics and unspoken needs #podmatch #CorporateConsulting #ExecutiveCoaching #Authenticity ========================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#exploratory-call 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://different-points-podcast.com/ ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Stephan Kerby, who goes by Kerby, to explore curiosity, openness and how these qualities can change the way we experience ourselves and the world. Kerby's own journey through depression, anxiety and a search for fulfilment led him into exploring consciousness, healing and identity. Today he works with people around transformation while continuing to question who we are beneath the stories we tell ourselves. Kerby shares how curiosity has guided him throughout his life, including a childhood insight about watching the world like a movie and having some choice about how we respond. They explore how becoming curious about our thoughts, beliefs and programming can create space for different responses and new patterns. The conversation also explores psychedelics as a tool rather than an identity, the danger of putting ourselves and others into boxes, and the possibility of continually evolving rather than deciding that we have everything figured out. #Curiosity #Openness #HumanTransformation ================== Where our conversation went: 01:39 Kerby's lifelong relationship with curiosity 02:51 A childhood insight about watching the world like a movie 04:01 Creating space between what happens and our automatic reactions 05:39 Psychedelics as a tool and the psychology of transformation 07:19 Curiosity as a way of staying open rather than trying to be right 08:23 Questioning our beliefs and remaining open to change 10:14 A bird's nest and noticing the extraordinary things happening around us 13:02 Curiosity about humans, nature, the universe and the beauty surrounding us 15:31 Asking whether our beliefs are actually helping us in this moment 17:52 Mortality, limited time and asking how we want to spend our lives 19:14 The problem with putting people into boxes based on their roles 22:31 Identity and the danger of replacing one identity with another 24:35 Allowing our work and understanding to evolve over time 25:49 Radical transformation and the possibility that anybody can change 26:25 Seeing friends and family with fresh eyes 28:03 Kerby's first psychedelic experience and the beginning of a new journey 31:54 Identity and the first stage of awakening 32:11 Metacognition and learning to notice our thoughts 32:55 Creating space between a thought and our response 33:38 Choosing whether to repeat old patterns or create a new future 35:15 Noticing physical reactions without automatically acting on them 36:49 Kerby's message of hope for anyone who feels stuck 37:18 Free will, automatic patterns and giving ourselves grace 38:15 Moving beyond the expectation that we should be happy all the time 38:44 If you don't feel you are living the life you want, there is hope 38:55 Asking how we want to spend the finite time we have 39:13 Choosing the version of ourselves that brings greater contentment and peace #podmatch #Curiosity #SelfAwareness #HumanTransformation Where to find Stephan Kerby: https://mindscapeinstitute.org ========================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://different-points-podcast.com/ ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Catherine Llewellyn reflects on conversations she has recently been having with people from her past and what these conversations have shown her about the different ways people choose to live their lives. Some people have found a life that suits them and are enjoying retirement, travel and family. Others are continuing to create, collaborate, work, learn and develop. Some are somewhere in between. Catherine explores what it means to find your place, including recognising when the life you are living is not the life you actually want. She considers the different relationships people have with work and retirement, and the importance of not living according to what we think we ought to be doing. Whether we are settled and content or uncertain about what comes next, Catherine suggests that wherever we find ourselves has value and can be the place from which the next part of our lives emerges. #FindingYourPlace #LifeChoices #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 00:14 Catching up with people from the past and discovering how differently their lives have evolved 00:57 What it means to be living the life you want 01:06 Different versions of a fulfilling life, from retirement and travel to continuing to create and develop 02:09 Finding your place, even when that place is shifting 02:47 When you know the life you want but are living something different 03:03 Recognising when you are trying to do what you think you ought to want 03:19 When you're unhappy but don't yet know why 03:28 Not knowing what to let go of or what to begin 03:38 The value of every different place we find ourselves in 03:54 Catherine's own periods of being on holiday and taking a sabbatical 04:31 Finding a mixture of creating, continuing and being on holiday 04:46 Different attitudes towards retirement and continuing to work throughout life 05:25 Finding your place and appreciating it rather than trying to meet other people's expectations 05:48 The value of acknowledging when you're not yet in a comfortable place 06:03 Uncertainty and fear as a place full of possibility 06:09 Wherever you are has value and is part of the tapestry of human life 06:25 How each state or place we experience can allow the next thing to happen 06:35 An invitation to recognise the value of wherever you are right now #podmatch #LifeTransitions #PersonalGrowth #FindingYourWay ========================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://different-points-podcast.com/ ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes David Deighton, creator of Triptych Dialogue, an art experiment exploring how we can bridge societal divides by changing the way we talk to one another. David's work brings people together in person, often around difficult subjects such as politics, using art, active listening and the senses to create deeper connection. David shares how his understanding of impermanence developed through years of meditation and study, including time spent at a monastery in India with a Burmese monk. He describes his practice of using rocks as reminders of impermanence, suffering and connection, and how these ideas became part of his artistic work. They explore the origins of Triptych Dialogue, including an encounter with a medieval triptych at the Victoria and Albert Museum. David explains how the missing parts of the artwork prompted him to think about what is absent from our conversations, and how this led him to begin speaking with strangers about politics. David describes his approach to these encounters, asking three questions, listening without debating and looking for the emotional common ground beneath political differences. He explains how these short conversations can transform both participants, and how his own anger and sense of division have changed through the practice. #Impermanence #Connection #ActiveListening ================== Where our conversation went: 02:00 David's relationship with impermanence and why it keeps returning as a reminder 04:25 The rock that became a daily reminder of impermanence, suffering and connection 07:05 How the rock represents change, transformation and the interconnectedness of everything 09:30 Walking meditation, carrying rocks and the practice of letting them go 10:45 Impermanence as a metaphor for existence, renewal and our relationships 11:37 David's years of study and his journey to a monastery in India 13:40 Theravada Buddhism, meditation and learning through presence and all the senses 15:30 Bringing this sensory awareness into David's artwork 16:17 Exploring how to create deeper connection with a stranger in less than five minutes 16:29 Talking to strangers about politics and the origins of Triptych Dialogue 20:43 The medieval triptych at the Victoria and Albert Museum that inspired the project 21:27 What is missing from the artwork, and what is missing from our conversations 22:55 Three questions as the three panels of the triptych 23:32 Responding to societal division and turning from political expression towards face to face exchange 25:23 Using all the senses to experience another person's words and perspective 26:05 Finding commonality with people whose values and political views may seem completely opposed 27:05 Discovering emotional connection beneath political disagreement 28:25 How natural environments create space for openness, curiosity and connection 29:04 Moments of genuine human connection in an age of digital division 30:56 How these encounters have changed David 31:50 The three questions and the importance of listening without debating 33:00 Exploring people's feelings about the current state of US politics 33:22 The third question, finishing the sentence about politics in the United States 34:35 Finding a single word that captures what someone has expressed 35:03 What happens after the microphone is turned off 35:41 How people's feelings can change during the course of a single day 36:19 Active listening, presence and David's daily grounding practice 37:42 The project as an ongoing exploration of connection and transformation 38:56 Ceramic vessels, impermanence and preserving questions for the future 40:20 David's new website and continuing to share the project 40:57 Conversations in natural places and learning from others 42:12 Connecting through all the senses and moments of silence with strangers 43:15 Following the project online and hearing the conversations for yourself 44:52 Human connection as a form of political action 46:02 David's message to people following their own calling: keep going, everything is impermanent 46:53 Dropping the phone and talking to a stranger 47:35 The value of vulnerability, connection and allowing ourselves to be transformed 48:14 Rethinking the advice to not talk to strangers #podmatch #Impermanence #ActiveListening #HumanConnection Where to find David Deighton: https://triptychdialogue.com ========================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://different-points-podcast.com/ ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Following on from the theme of letting go, Catherine Llewellyn explores what can happen when we stop trying to change our feelings and instead surrender to what we are actually experiencing. Catherine shares a personal experience from a relationship in which sexual chemistry had changed. Rather than continuing to try to restore the feelings they thought they should have, they asked a simple question about what each of them wanted right now. The resulting clarity and willingness to feel what was actually present transformed the situation. From there, Catherine explores how the same principle can apply in our other relationships and choices. When we stop trying to control our feelings, we create space for clarity, reflection and natural change. Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is tell the truth about what we feel in this moment and allow that feeling to be what it is. #LettingGo #EmotionalAwareness #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 00:06 Continuing the theme of letting go through emotions and states of being 00:18 A relationship in which sexual chemistry unexpectedly changed 01:21 Trying to change feelings rather than surrendering to what was actually happening 01:41 Asking a simple question that changed the dynamic 02:25 The liberation that came from accepting the truth of the present moment 02:50 Why we aren't designed to feel the same way all the time 03:33 The trap of trying to change feelings we don't like 03:47 Fully surrendering to feelings of rejection, disappointment and confusion 04:12 How surrender broke the loop and allowed the relationship to change naturally 04:36 Applying the same principle to other kinds of relationships 04:43 Using present moment clarity when considering whether to work with someone 05:27 How clarity can free up energy for reflection and allow a choice to emerge 05:45 Moving out of limbo by acknowledging what is true right now 06:03 Returning to the relationship with clarity and simply going for a walk 06:27 Letting go into the feelings we are actually having 06:49 Why feelings naturally change when we stop trying to control them 07:03 Making space for different philosophical perspectives 07:31 An invitation to surrender more deeply into what you're actually feeling 07:42 Telling the truth to yourself and, where appropriate, to others #podmatch #EmotionalFreedom #SelfAwareness #ConsciousRelationships Where to find Catherine: ========================= ✦ Make the most of your calling; Book an Exploratory Call with Catherine: https://beingspace.world/#explore 🤝 Join our Being Space Community ✦ Podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com ✦ Podcast: https://different-points-podcast.com/ ✦ Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BEINGSPACEcatherinellewellyn ✦ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingspace.world/ ✦ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BeingSpaceWorld ✦ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beingspace.world Support the podcast: https://truthandtranscendence.com/donate
Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Nico Verresen, former Muay Thai champion, psychologist and founder of Burnout Boxing Experience. Nico explores his lifelong relationship with intensity and how a passion that took him to the top of combat sports eventually led him to a very different mission: helping people embrace intensity rather than automatically seeing stress as something harmful. After years of fighting, Nico's body finally forced him to stop when severe eye injuries ended his competitive career. The experience helped him recognise that intensity itself wasn't the problem—it was how we related to it. He now works with people to understand their nervous systems, embrace challenging experiences and develop the presence to choose how they respond. They explore stress as an adaptive system, the difference between stress and suffering, why our beliefs about stress can influence how we experience it, and how challenge can become the “spice” that makes life more alive. Nico also shares how his relationship with intimacy and intensity has evolved, and why emotions such as stress, anger and anxiety can be understood as messages rather than problems to suppress. #Intensity #NervousSystem #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 01:18 Nico's lifelong attraction to intensity and where it began 04:00 Discovering Muay Thai and becoming deeply immersed in combat sports 05:54 The medical diagnosis that ended Nico's fighting career 07:47 Recognising the parallels between his father's work ethic and his own drive 08:47 Why suffering your way to the top is a losing game 09:09 Nico's new mission: helping people embrace intensity and stress as part of adaptation 09:48 Learning to notice bodily sensations, thoughts, emotions and impulses—and choose how to respond 11:18 Why many people may need to “turn up the volume” rather than reduce intensity 12:00 Why humans are built to handle intense challenges 14:09 What happens in the body when we experience stress 15:13 How secondary stress—our thoughts and judgements about stress—can make things worse 17:20 How extreme pressure can create intense presence and focus 19:25 Reframing fear and stress as excitement and preparation 20:04 Why our beliefs about stress can affect how we experience it 20:46 Research exploring how different beliefs about stress affect performance and physiology 24:07 The difference between wanted and unwanted intensity—and why people can fear intensity 25:09 Why getting older doesn't necessarily mean having less intensity in life 26:01 How embracing intensity can improve sleep, performance and enjoyment 27:17 The transformative power of challenge and rites of passage 29:19 What we may have lost by becoming disconnected from healthy forms of challenge and intensity 30:22 Experiencing intense presence without danger or suffering 32:05 Finding intensity after giving up competitive fighting 32:31 How heartbreak, relationships and fear of intimacy shaped Nico's relationship with intensity 33:50 Realising that his deepest way of relating is to go fully and deeply into what he loves 34:00 Reassessing his work and finding new sources of intensity 40:54 Learning to experience emotions as messages rather than problems 41:25 Recognising sensitivity and emotional intensity as a potential strength 41:47 Stress, anger and anxiety as signals from the nervous system—and learning to listen #podmatch #StressMastery #Aliveness #PersonalTransformation Where to find Nico Verresen: https://burnoutboxingexperience.com ========================= ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Picking up from the previous episode's theme of letting go, Catherine Llewellyn explores what happens when we stop forcing ourselves and instead listen to what the body is actually asking for. Using her experience with yin yoga as a starting point, Catherine reflects on the Western tendency to push harder, do more and strive to get things “right”. She contrasts this with surrendering into a comfortable stretch, allowing the body to find its own version of a pose, and discovering that letting go can create more relaxation rather than more effort. The conversation then expands into food, emotions and relationships. What if, instead of automatically responding to hunger, anxiety, discomfort or habitual patterns, we paused and tuned in to what the body is really asking for in that moment? Catherine invites us to become more alive to our bodies, our relationships and ourselves by releasing into what is actually present rather than pushing ourselves beyond it. #LettingGo #BodyWisdom #ConsciousLiving ================== Where our conversation went: 00:07 Letting go as a continuation of the previous episode's theme 00:20 Catherine's experience of yin yoga and the invitation to let go into a pose 00:55 The Western programming to do more, try harder and push through difficulty 01:26 How forcing a stretch can create more tension 01:36 Modifying the pose and discovering that less can actually give us more 02:20 Allowing tension to melt away by relaxing into what feels comfortable 02:36 Surrendering into the body's experience rather than forcing it 02:59 Applying the same principle to fitness, nutrition and how we relate to our bodies 03:39 Pausing to ask the body what it is actually hungry for 04:00 Listening to the body's specific request rather than letting the mind embellish it 05:21 Recognising that cravings may be asking for comfort, connection or something else 05:43 Discovering that the body may be asking for a hug—or for some distance 06:03 Bringing more aliveness into relationships by tuning into what the body is asking for 06:57 Letting go into what the body wants: food, hugs, lovemaking, walking or yoga 07:21 Releasing into the body's limits rather than pushing, yanking or forcing ourselves 07:28 Asking: Are you listening to what your body is asking for? 07:42 Tuning in, surrendering and allowing ourselves to enjoy the experience #podmatch #BodyAwareness #SelfAwareness #LettingGo ========================= ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Steven Ferrara, a lifelong spiritual student, teacher and coach who spent decades building a successful financial services business before selling it to focus fully on his spiritual path. Steven introduces the idea of the “inside life”—the part of ourselves that can observe our thoughts, emotions and experiences rather than simply reacting to what happens around us. He explains how this inner awareness has helped him live from the inside out, including through the profound losses of his son and his wife. They explore spiritual awakening, the difference between intellectual learning and true transformation, and why Steven believes that life itself is the teacher. Steven also shares how spirituality and material success can coexist, his approach to coaching through listening rather than motivation, and why inspiration and higher purpose matter more than external achievements. The conversation also leads to Steven's book, Grief to Gratitude: Embracing the Inner Pathway to Healing and Peace, which grew from more than 20 years of daily journaling and the life lessons he discovered by looking back through his journals. #InsideLife #SpiritualAwakening #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 01:44 Steven's early relationship with spirituality and discovering the “inside life” 04:21 The observer, the impact of technology and moving from living “outside in” to “inside out” 05:34 The power and responsibility of choosing how we respond to life's challenges 06:08 Finding a different way through profound grief and traumatic experiences 08:17 Why spiritual understanding isn't necessarily a linear process 08:42 How openness and transformative books can create sudden shifts in understanding 11:38 Why the right mindset matters—and why spiritual learning can remain purely intellectual 12:18 Life as the teacher: learning through direct experience 14:26 How Steven's spiritual path and his career in financial services came together 16:28 Building a large financial services business and recognising the role of timing, opportunity and gratitude 17:21 Why spiritual depth and material success don't have to be opposites 19:04 How love of people and a desire to help shaped Stephen's approach to business 22:18 The importance of mentors, role models and learning from others 24:03 Steven's approach to coaching: deep listening, asking questions and not needing to have all the answers 25:44 Moving beyond motivation towards inspiration and higher purpose 27:04 Finding fulfilment within rather than through external possessions and achievements 28:09 Creating a space for genuine connection, love and higher-consciousness learning 28:54 Who Steven works with—and helping people discover their deeper potential 32:13 Grief to Gratitude: the book born from 20 years of daily journaling 33:16 How journaling became a way through grief and helped reveal the turning points and lessons in Steven's life 38:14 A message for teachers, leaders and others working to be part of the solution 39:00 Why Steven believes more people are moving in a positive direction than the news might suggest 40:54 David Hawkins, consciousness and the possibility of a wider shift in human awareness 42:17 The value of meaningful, significant conversation #podmatch #SpiritualGrowth #ConsciousLiving #GriefToGratitude Where to find Steven Ferrara: https://stevenferrara.com Book: Grief to Gratitude: Embracing the Inner Pathway to Healing and Peace https://a.co/d/05y4lv7H ========================= ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Decluttering is usually framed as getting rid of things we no longer need. But what if we looked at it differently? In this episode, Catherine Llewellyn explores the possibility that what we are releasing may be of real value to someone else. From jewellery and household possessions to tasks, responsibilities and even relationships, Catherine invites us to consider not only what something is worth to us, but whether it still fits who we are now. Letting go can create space for us while simultaneously creating opportunities for other people. This is a different way of thinking about decluttering: not as removing something unwanted, but as contributing something that may have greater value elsewhere. #Decluttering #LettingGo #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 00:05 Why decluttering has become such a familiar part of modern life 00:28 The possibility that what we no longer need could be of great value to somebody else 00:50 Jewellery as an example: looking beyond financial value to whether it still fits who we are 01:47 Letting go because someone else might benefit more from what we have 02:17 Clearing a relative's home and discovering that things we don't value may be valuable to others 03:07 Moving beyond the idea that decluttering is simply about getting rid of things 03:23 Applying the same principle to tasks and responsibilities 03:29 Could someone else enjoy, develop through or benefit from the tasks that no longer suit us? 03:52 Decluttering as contribution rather than disposal 04:03 Asking what we are contributing and what opportunities we are creating for others 04:18 Letting go of an item, a task—or even an aspect of a relationship 04:35 Creating space for ourselves while making another person available for relationships that may be a better fit #podmatch #ConsciousLiving #PersonalGrowth #LettingGo ========================= ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Catherine Llewellyn welcomes back Robert White, whose work in experiential learning has reached more than a million people. Robert has spent decades helping people discover their potential through transformational experiences, and today works with entrepreneurs, owners and executives who want greater success, joy and fulfilment. Robert shares how he moved from a childhood shaped by poverty, abuse and seriousness into a life where joy became a guiding value. They explore the difference between chasing happiness and coming from joy, discovering the meaning we are born to express, and integrating the wisdom of the mind with the wisdom of the heart. They also discuss completing the past, releasing guilt and blame, readiness for transformation, Robert's adopted son Levi's extraordinary journey, and the two kinds of leaders who seek his help: those in trouble and those who can see a bigger opportunity. #ExtraordinaryLife #JoyAndFulfilment #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 04:00 Choosing joy and fulfilment—not just achievement 05:24 Why happiness is an unreliable goal and joy can be something we come from 06:25 Discovering the meaning we're born to express 07:49 The influence of Viktor Frankl and the pursuit of meaning 08:15 How childhood experiences shaped Robert's determination and seriousness 09:00 Learning to look for joy and rediscovering the freedom of childhood 10:32 Integrating mature thinking with the qualities of the heart 14:44 Transforming the belief “I am not enough” 18:00 Helping successful leaders integrate business, family and community 20:16 Three principles: complete the past, tell the truth about the present and choose the future 21:00 Completing the past without remaining stuck in it 25:50 Reframing Robert's story about his mother 29:08 Robert's experience during COVID and the story of his adopted son Levi 31:02 Levi's transformation and commitment to healing his heart 33:44 The key to transformation: readiness 37:03 Readiness in executive and organisational transformation 38:00 Two kinds of clients: those in trouble and those with a bigger opportunity 40:28 The importance of having a cause and meaning behind the work 41:30 The challenge of people problems and leadership 42:02 Two forms of readiness—and wishing people success, joy and fulfilment #podmatch #PersonalTransformation #Leadership #Joy Where to find Robert White: https://extraordinarypeople.com ========================= ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Catherine Llewellyn explores something deceptively simple: we don't have to have an opinion. In a world full of pressure to decide what is right and wrong, true and false, good and bad, Catherine asks whether our constant need for certainty may actually be limiting our freedom. She reflects on how we are conditioned from childhood to distinguish right from wrong, and how that useful social conditioning can expand into a demand to have a position on everything. What happens when we allow ourselves to say “I don't know”, “I haven't decided”, or simply “that's not where I want to put my energy”? This episode is an invitation to step out of judgement, pause before reaching a conclusion, and honour our individual sovereignty—including our freedom not to have an opinion. #Sovereignty #ConsciousLiving #TruthAndTranscendence ================== Where our conversation went: 00:09 The pressure to know what is true, right and wrong—and the urgency to reach a conclusion 01:04 We don't have to have an opinion, agree, disagree or draw a conclusion 01:45 Why our ideas of right and wrong are important—and how they can run out of control 02:58 Applying the need for certainty to relationships and everyday decisions 04:03 The discomfort of saying “I haven't decided yet” 04:35 Is it acceptable simply to say “I don't know”? 05:22 How social pressure can make certain opinions feel forbidden 07:12 The vital importance of honouring our individuality, perspective and sovereignty 07:50 Why a society where everyone agrees on everything would be deadening to human life 08:43 The idea that we must always have an opinion as a form of cognitive slavery 09:11 Taking a pause when you notice yourself judging, labelling or trying to decide 09:53 When decisions are necessary—and when we may simply be forcing ourselves to have an opinion 10:05 Asking: “Am I honouring my own sovereignty in this?” 10:21 Perhaps this isn't where you want to put your energy #podmatch #PersonalFreedom #SelfSovereignty #ConsciousAwareness Where to find Catherine: Website: https://www.beingspace.world ========================= ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Brain Athletes: Arnold Beekes on Training Your Mind & Becoming a “Better for All” Leader Catherine Llewellyn welcomes Arnold Beekes back to Truth & Transcendence to explore his work with “brain athletes”—people who deliberately train their thoughts, emotions, relationships and leadership in much the same way an athlete trains their body. Arnold introduces three ideas at the heart of his approach: unconditioning, aspiration, and united uniqueness. Together, Catherine and Arnold explore the invisible “straitjackets” created by conditioning, the possibility of consciously shaping our emotional states, and the importance of bringing our unique qualities together in service of a world that is “better for all,” rather than simply better for a few. They also discuss neuroplasticity, self-kindness, the impact of our inner critic, and why becoming more authentic can transform not only our own lives but the lives of everyone around us. #BrainAthletes #ConsciousLeadership #TruthAndTranscendence Where our conversation went: 00:00 Welcome back, Arnold Beekes, and introducing the idea of brain athletes 01:36 What is a brain athlete? 04:17 Why we need “better for all” leaders 06:15 Competency, capacity and the aspiration behind leadership 08:45 Three foundations: unconditioning, aspiration and united uniqueness 09:52 How conditioning creates invisible “straitjackets” 13:13 Removing the limitations that prevent us from performing at our best 15:14 Can we consciously engineer our emotional states? 16:10 United uniqueness: bringing different people and qualities together 18:21 “Samification” and the loss of individuality through conditioning 20:10 Why “better for all” includes animals, nature and the whole living world 21:04 Who can become a brain athlete? 22:41 Can we change at any age? 23:40 Arnold’s accident, five years of research and the power of pain as a catalyst for change 28:00 Neuroplasticity and why there is no fixed age limit for developing the brain 30:01 Arnold’s new podcast, Between the Ears 31:20 The first step: being kind to yourself 33:58 Helping someone recognise and reduce their self-criticism 35:35 How our inner world affects our relationships 36:54 The courage to challenge patterns that affect others 38:58 Why our inner and outer worlds need to align 40:11 Arnold’s own journey through conditioning and trauma 41:44 Arnold’s favourite part of the conversation 42:37 Following your calling and creating meaningful change #podmatch #BrainFitness #PersonalGrowth #Purpose Where to find Arnold Beekes: Website: https://brainathletes.club ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Catherine Llewellyn takes us on location to meet Medusa, an extraordinary handmade car created by her brother from an original idea and a collection of old and salvaged parts. But this episode isn't really about a car. It's about what Medusa represents: the freedom to create simply because you want to. Catherine explores the difference between creating from genuine inspiration and creating for approval, money, conformity or recognition. When we allow ourselves to play, experiment and make something purely for the joy of it, our creativity opens up—and life gets more room to express itself through us. What would you create if you didn't need it to have a reason? #Creativity #Play #TruthAndTranscendence Where our conversation went: 00:00 Welcome to Truth & Transcendence—and an unusual episode on location 00:29 Why this isn't really about a car 00:45 Meet Medusa: an extraordinary creation made from imagination, ingenuity and salvaged parts 03:00 Creating purely for the fun of it 03:30 What happens when you create without trying to make money or become famous 04:00 Why authentic creative expression attracts attention 04:15 Playing at life and opening the floodgates of creativity 04:45 What is your real reason for doing what you do? 05:30 Creating from your own spirit rather than seeking approval or conformity 06:00 Giving your creativity and sense of fun full reign #podmatch #CreativeExpression #AuthenticLiving #Purpose Where to find Catherine: Website: https://www.beingspace.world ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling? Relationship coach and author Liyana Silver joins Catherine Llewellyn to explore how heartbreak, divorce and life's darkest seasons can become profound portals of transformation. Drawing on her own experience and her work with women, couples and groups, Liyana shares what she has learned about the Dark Night of the Soul, the phases of heartbreak, and why the depths can reveal a more authentic and aligned version of ourselves. They discuss the importance of allowing difficult emotions to move through us rather than trying to think or strategise our way out of them, how nervous-system support can help during the most acute phases, and why the right kind of support depends on where we are in the journey. This is a compassionate conversation about finding wisdom, courage and ultimately greater aliveness in the midst of profound change. #DarkNightOfTheSoul #HeartbreakHealing #TruthAndTranscendence Where our conversation went: 00:00 Welcoming Liyana Silver and exploring the meaning of depth 01:39 How a difficult post-birth experience introduced Liyana to the Dark Night of the Soul 03:26 Naming the experience and discovering that it can be a transformational journey 06:00 Becoming an apprentice to the dark and mapping the terrain of heartbreak 09:35 The ancient wisdom and archetypal patterns within dark nights of the soul 12:58 Feeling difficult emotions fully and allowing them to move through 13:58 The wisdom of “the poison is the medicine” 15:17 Why transformation is not a makeover—and why dark nights may come more than once 17:40 Helping people through books, individual work and couples work 20:00 Supporting a partner who is going through their own dark night 22:47 Men, emotional development and the courage to enter unfamiliar territory 25:50 Why nervous-system stabilisation may need to come before deeper relationship work 27:40 The importance of support, soothing and allowing ourselves to be held 29:08 The dissolution phase: when everything is falling apart 31:12 The task in the deepest phase: breathe, get through the next moment and soothe the nervous system 31:44 Trusting that the phase will pass and allowing transformation to unfold 32:54 Why strategising and problem-solving are not always the answer 34:22 Liyana’s books and the gentle, spacious way she supports people 35:40 A message for the “depth dwellers” and everyone travelling the depths #podmatch #EmotionalHealing #ConsciousRelationships #SpiritualGrowth Where to find Liyana Silver: Website: https://liyanasilver.com Books: Waking Up in the Dark Night of Divorce; Feminine Genius The Heartbreak Transformation Map https://liyanasilver.com/map ✦ Stepping more deeply into your Calling?
