In this episode Jase breaks down exactly what strength training is, why HIIT, Pilates, yoga and group fitness classes are not the same thing, what happens to your muscle, bones, posture, brain and hormones after 40, and why menopause and dropping testosterone make this non negotiable. You will walk away knowing the smallest amount you can get away with, and why one session a week forever beats six sessions a week until February.

In this episode Jase breaks down why your mind runs like a thermostat set to "overweight," why your subconscious beats willpower every single time, and the three things that actually move the setpoint for good, using client Nick Friend's 20kg transformation and Jase's own story. This is the single idea that changed Jase's life, and it will change the way you see every result you've ever gotten.

Jase breaks down the maths of why a blowout lunch barely dents your week, names the "what the hell" effect that turns one pizza into a write-off weekend, and shares how to go from hiding for a fortnight after every bad weekend to becoming the most consistent you've ever been. In this episode, Jase breaks down why the Monday reset is just the Failure Cycle in a calendar costume, and how clients that finally broke the loop by ditching the reset button, make the next meal the only starting line. If you've been starting Monday since last year, this is the episode that finally kills the habit.

She didnt have a lot of weight to lose, and this proves once again that transformation is so much more than the scales. In this episode, Jase sits down with Kaz for an honest conversation about what 16 months inside BBA really looks like — the 10kg gone, the shoulder that won't quit, the strength milestones, and what happens when results feel invisible even when the data says otherwise. If you've ever done everything right and still wondered if it's working, this one's for you.

Free Transformation Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bbafree Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasestuartBBC Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasestuart_fit _ Ben started in BBA as a client but before that, he and I were just mates. He came into our Academy as a way to get himself mentally and physically straightened out. A very successful builder running a solid, award-winning business - he "had it all" as they say. But the stress of running that business accumulated on him - he drank way too much and eventually needed to make some changes. And that he did - quitting the drink and eventually moving his family to Bali. Ben spoke at the inaugural Men's Only Retreat in 2023 and he was phenomenal. Then again at our recent Bali Retreat, and he was even better. Now Ben has started in the coaching space himself teaching the strategies he's learned to help cope with the struggles we face in the modern world. That includes mindfulness techniques and certain meditations. Ben and I have spent a good bit of time together in Bali and so we decided to film an episode together. So many men will resonate with his words here! Having the courage to first sort your sh*t out is big... But then to not just talk the talk, but walk the walk even more so. I hope you enjoy this conversation...

In this episode of the Better Body Academy Podcast, I sit down with one of our incredible clients, Kylie Downs, to unpack how she lost almost 15kg, dropped 25cm off her waist, and completely changed her lifestyle without crash dieting or spending hours in the gym. We talk about what was holding Kylie back before she started, the mindset shifts that made the biggest difference, and why consistency always beats perfection. This isn't one of those overnight transformation stories. It's a real conversation about building habits that actually fit around work, family, stress, and everyday life. If you've ever felt like you've "tried everything" but still can't seem to make lasting progress, this episode will show you what happens when you finally stop chasing quick fixes and start trusting the process. In this episode we cover: • How Kylie lost almost 15kg while still living a normal life • The daily habits that created consistent fat loss • Why high-protein eating made staying on track easier • The biggest mindset changes behind her success • How she handled stressful periods without giving up • What she'd tell anyone who's sitting on the fence about getting started If you're looking for proof that sustainable transformation is possible, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

Most people think fat loss requires eating tiny portions, battling cravings, and relying on endless willpower. But what if the real problem isn't your motivation… it's your hunger? In this episode, I break down one of the biggest principles we teach inside Better Body Academy: volume eating. You'll learn why your stomach doesn't count calories, why some 500-calorie meals leave you starving while others keep you full for hours, and how combining high-volume foods, protein, and fibre can make fat loss dramatically easier. We'll also cover: * Why hunger is the real reason most diets fail * The difference between eating less food and eating fewer calories * Why protein alone isn't always enough * The BBA framework for structuring meals * Practical examples you can start using immediately * How to stop fighting your biology and start working with it If you're sick of feeling deprived every time you try to lose weight, this episode will completely change the way you think about food, fullness, and sustainable fat loss. Because the secret isn't learning how to eat less. It's learning how to eat more of the right things. 💪🏻

Free Transformation Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bbafree Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasestuartBBC Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasestuart_fit _ Are you actually living your life consciously? Or are you simply repeating it? In this episode, Jase explores a powerful idea that sits at the intersection of mindset, psychology, and personal transformation: most people are running on autopilot. They wake up at the same time, think the same thoughts, follow the same routines, and then wonder why nothing changes. Drawing on concepts from personal development and behavioural psychology, Jase breaks down how your environment shapes your thoughts, your thoughts shape your actions, and your actions ultimately create your results—whether that's your body, your finances, your relationships, or your happiness. If you've ever felt stuck, unmotivated, or frustrated that another year seems to have slipped by without making the progress you promised yourself, this episode is your wake-up call. In this episode you'll learn: • Why most people unknowingly live their lives on autopilot • How your environment is silently shaping your future • The reason motivation isn't the answer you're looking for • Why winter and the middle of the year are where goals go to die • How to break the patterns that keep you stuck • The simple mindset shift that can completely change your trajectory This isn't about manifestation. It's about awareness. It's about taking ownership. And it's about recognising that if you keep repeating yesterday, you'll keep getting yesterday's results. So the question becomes: If not now… when?

Free Transformation Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bbafree Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasestuartBBC Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jasestuart_fit _ Have you ever looked at a photo of yourself and instantly felt disappointed? Maybe you've caught your reflection in the mirror, tried on an old pair of jeans, or seen a picture someone tagged you in and thought, "How did I get this bad?" If so, you're not alone. In this episode, Jase dives into one of the most common — and most damaging — drivers behind failed transformations: self-loathing. While shame can often be the thing that gets us started, it rarely gets us to the finish line. In fact, trying to hate yourself into a body you love is one of the fastest ways to end up stuck in the cycle of starting, stopping, and starting again. You'll learn: * The difference between self-awareness and self-loathing * Why shame can create short-term action but destroys long-term consistency * How body image struggles affect almost everyone — even coaches * The hidden link between self-criticism and self-sabotage * Why your weight and your worth are two completely different things * Practical ways to challenge the negative stories you tell yourself This isn't a fluffy "love yourself no matter what" conversation. It's a real discussion about how to tell yourself the truth, take responsibility for where you are, and still treat yourself like someone worth fighting for. Because shame might get you started. But self-respect is what gets you to the finish line. If you've ever struggled with body image, self-doubt, or that little voice in your head telling you you're not enough, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Jase dives into a powerful psychological concept known as The Spotlight Effect — our tendency to believe that everyone is watching us, judging us, and paying far more attention to us than they actually are. Whether it's joining the gym, wearing certain clothes, posting on social media, starting a business, applying for a promotion, or finally taking control of your health, the fear of judgement keeps millions of people stuck living smaller lives than they're capable of. You'll learn: * What the Spotlight Effect is and why it affects all of us * Why people massively overestimate how much others notice them * How fear of judgement sabotages weight loss and confidence * The link between the Spotlight Effect and perfectionism * Why confidence doesn't come before action * Practical ways to stop caring so much about what others think * How to become a better example for your children by acting despite fear If you've ever delayed taking action because you were worried about looking silly, failing publicly, or being judged, this episode is for you. The truth is simple: Most people are too busy worrying about themselves to spend much time worrying about you. And that might just be the most liberating thing you'll hear all week.

And spoiler alert — it's not just calories, workouts, or motivation. We dig into the stories men tell themselves, the pressure to be perfect, the fear of judgement, and why so many blokes stay stuck even when they know they need to change. Max shares his own journey through sport, injury, personal development, travel, sobriety, confidence, and learning to do the hard things he used to avoid. We also talk about why community matters so much for men, how to borrow belief when you don't have enough of your own, and why real transformation starts when you stop trying to white-knuckle your way through life alone. If you're a busy dad, husband, business owner, or just a bloke who knows he's capable of more but keeps getting in his own way, this episode will hit home.

We talk about: * Why some people repeat the same struggles for years * The emotional addiction to overwhelm and stress * How victim loops quietly become identity loops * Why endless venting drains coaching environments * The difference between vulnerability and emotional looping * How to start becoming solution-focused immediately This episode is direct, honest, and probably a little uncomfortable at times… but it's a conversation a LOT of people need to hear. This episode covers: * Why overweight people often feel disconnected from movement * The neurological side of strength training * Why lifting weights is really about learning movement patterns * Why adding more weight isn't always the answer * How your nervous system adapts through repetition * Why awkwardness in the gym is completely normal * And how fitness helps people reconnect with their body and confidence again If you've ever felt clumsy, uncomfortable, or like you "just suck" at exercise… this episode will completely change the way you think about training.
