Aging With Purpose and Passion is the award winning podcast for women over 50 who know they're not finished yet. They're navigating reinvention, career change, retirement, relationships, caregiving, and the deeper question of what they want now. Hosted by Beverley Glazer, MA, CCC, a work and life transition coach for women over 50 and midlife reinvention strategist, Aging With Purpose and Passion features stories from women over 50 who have faced change, challenged expectations, rebuilt confidence, and refused to let age — or anything else — define what is still possible. Each week, Beverley and her resilient guests explore reinvention after 50, career change, retirement transitions, menopause, empty nest, caregiving for aging parents, divorce, grief, health challenges, business transitions, entrepreneurship, relationships, ageism, leadership shifts, ambition, resilience, mindset, purpose, and self-trust. These are not polished success stories or generic conversations about starting over. They are real, practical, emotionally intelligent conversations about what happens when the life you built no longer aligns with who you are today. Aging With Purpose and Passion is not about chasing youth, forcing positivity, or pretending change is easy. It is women over 50 and far beyond, telling the truth about what they feel, what they've been through, and what becomes possible when they stop talking themselves out of settling for less. You may come for someone else’s story. You may leave ready to change your own. New conversations released weekly. Infidelity, self-blame, empty nest, reconciliation, and rebuilding self-trust when the life you believed in suddenly changes. What happens when someone else’s betrayal makes you question yourself? For women over 50, infidelity can hit at a time when so much is already changing. Children are leaving home. Your body may be changing. The roles that defined you for years are shifting. And suddenly, one discovery can make you question not only your relationship—but your own judgment. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer talks with Lora Cheadle, JD, CHt , betrayal recovery expert, attorney, somatic attachment therapist, clinical hypnotherapist, TEDx speaker, and author of It’s Not Burnout, It’s Betrayal . Just as her youngest was preparing to leave for college, Lora discovered that her husband had been unfaithful for 15 years. What followed wasn't simply anger or heartbreak. There was shock. Evidence to piece together. Self-blame. And the devastating question so many women ask after betrayal: “How could I not have known?” We talk about why betrayal trauma can make even the most capable woman doubt herself, why high-achieving women are so good at performing “I’ve got this” when they’re falling apart, and what happens when you can no longer trust the story you believed about your life. Lora also speaks openly about separation and her eventual decision to reconcile—a choice that brought its own questions and judgment. Without excusing the harm caused by infidelity, she explains how unresolved trauma can contribute to destructive coping, what her husband had to confront in himself, and why reconciliation required them to build something different rather than return to the marriage they had before. But perhaps the most important question wasn't: “Can I trust him again?” It was: “Can I trust myself again?” Because after betrayal, everyone may have an opinion about what you should do. Stay. Leave. Forgive. Don't forgive. But you're the one who has to live with the decision. This conversation is really about what happens after trust breaks—when you have to decide what you believe, what you want, and whether you're willing to trust yourself again. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. IN THIS EPISODE How betrayal trauma can make you stop trusting yourself Recovering from infidelity after 50 Why women blame themselves after discovering an affair Empty nest, menopause, and identity changes after betrayal Why high-achieving women hide pain behind “I’ve got this” How to rebuild self-trust after betrayal Separation and reconciliation after infidelity What accountability looks like when rebuilding a relationship How unresolved trauma can affect relationships Setting boundaries and making your own decisions after betrayal For similar episodes on rebuilding from loss, check out episode 178, When Life Breaks You Open, and Episode 180, Divorce, Self-Worth, and Everyday Peace on Aging with Purpose and Passion. Rethinking success, retirement, identity, and what happens when life forces you to change the pace. You can be very good at the life you’ve built and still know you don’t want to keep living it the same way. For many high-achieving women over 50, the hardest transition isn’t leaving a career or approaching retirement. It’s realizing that the drive, productivity, and determination that got you this far may not be what you need now. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer talks with Dana Hilmer , happiness and midlife transitions expert, unretirement coach, and founder of Wiser and Free, about what happens when your old definition of success no longer works. Dana spent years believing that if she worked hard enough, achieved enough, and kept pushing, she would eventually arrive at the life she was supposed to want. But reaching that version of success brought an unexpected realization: it wasn’t enough to look successful from the outside. Her life had to feel right to her. We talk about perfectionism, people pleasing, the persistent feeling of “not good enough,” and why accomplished women can become so identified with what they do that it becomes difficult to ask a much simpler question: How do I actually want to live? Dana shares her “compass point” approach—using how you want to feel about your life as a filter for decisions about work, relationships, purpose, and pace. We also explore unretirement and why leaving a full-time career doesn’t have to mean leaving meaningful work behind. For some women, what comes next may include part-time work, entrepreneurship, creative projects, volunteering, or simply more freedom to decide where their energy goes. Then Dana’s own life forced these ideas off the page. While caring for her father as his Alzheimer’s progressed, a frightening incident was followed by serious physical symptoms and a diagnosis of functional neurological disorder (FND). Dana had always been someone who pushed through. Now she was learning that sometimes the work isn’t to push through at all. It’s to be with what is—and decide from there. This is a conversation about ambition, identity, retirement, caregiving, health, and redefining success when life doesn’t go according to plan. Because the question after 50 isn’t simply, “What am I going to do next?” It’s “How do I want to experience the life I have now?” Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. IN THIS EPISODE Why high-achieving women can struggle with identity after 50 When pushing through stops working How perfectionism and people pleasing shape our definition of success What to do when achievement no longer feels fulfilling How to figure out what you really want after 50 Why retirement can change how you see yourself What unretirement can look like for women over 50 Caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s Adapting when your body requires a different pace How to redefine success on your own terms For similar episodes check out You've Built a Life Now What that's episode 190 and Retirement After 50 Your Best Work is Not Over that's episode number 185 of Aging with Purpose and Passion. Family secrets, forgiveness, retirement, and what changes when you see your past with new eyes after 50. What if something you learned after 50 changed the way you understood your family—and yourself? For decades, Yvonne F. Conte believed she knew the story of her childhood. Then one photograph and two documents revealed information she had never known. Nothing about the past changed. But the meaning of it did. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer sits down with the nationally recognized keynote speaker and bestselling author of Beneath Her Smile for a conversation about family secrets, memory, forgiveness, reinvention, and the perspective that can come later in life. Yvonne takes us back to childhood, where humor first became a way to get attention, connect, and feel seen. That instinct would follow her through rebellious teenage years, marriage, divorce, single motherhood, sales, job loss, and an unexpected career reinvention that eventually put her on stages across the country. Then came another transition. After decades of speaking, retirement left Yvonne with more time—but not enough purpose. Writing her memoir brought her back to old memories and forced her to reconsider assumptions she had carried about her parents for most of her life. This conversation is not about pretending painful experiences didn’t matter. It is about what can happen when you finally have enough distance, experience, and information to understand them differently. Beverley and Yvonne explore what it means to revisit the past without becoming trapped in it, how family stories shape identity, why forgiveness is not the same as excusing what happened, and how purpose after 50 can emerge in ways you never expected. For women over 50, there is a deeper question underneath Yvonne’s story: What have you believed about your past simply because it was the only version you knew? Sometimes the facts remain exactly the same. What changes is the way you carry them. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. In This Episode How childhood experiences shape the stories we carry into adulthood Why humor can become a way to cope, connect, and feel seen How job loss can lead to an unexpected career reinvention What retirement can reveal about identity and purpose after 50 How family secrets can change the way you understand your parents Revisiting childhood memories with the perspective of later life Why forgiveness does not mean excusing what happened How writing your life story can uncover patterns you never recognized Finding purpose after retirement when you still want to contribute How new information can change the meaning of an old story For similar episodes check out retirement after 50, Your Best work is Not Done Episode 185 and Who are You Without the Career, Episode 181 of Aging with Purpose and Passion and if you're looking for a podcast that goes beyond money and traditional retirement advice, Beyond retirement with Jacquie Doucette explores how to build a retirement that feels meaningful, intentional, and truly your own. Kim Boudreau Smith on confidence, self-worth, career reinvention, visibility, leadership, and using decades of experience without constantly proving yourself. What if you’ve spent years proving your value—and no longer need to? You’ve built experience, solved difficult problems, taken risks, and learned things no résumé can fully capture. Yet even highly capable women can find their confidence rising and falling with income, recognition, job titles, or whether other people approve of what they’re doing. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer speaks with Kim Boudreau Smith , founder of Her Bold Voice and a Business Growth Strategist, about what changes when women stop measuring their worth by how much they produce—and start trusting the value of what they already know. Kim’s path has never been conventional. She moved from corporate sales and marketing into entrepreneurship, built a successful fitness business, pioneered internet radio before podcasting was mainstream, published three Amazon bestselling anthologies, and has spent decades helping women become more visible and influential in their work. But beneath those accomplishments is a more personal story about confidence, risk, comparison, and the pressure to keep proving yourself. Kim talks candidly about growing up in a working-class family where hard work and security mattered, the peaks and valleys of entrepreneurship, and what happens when business results begin affecting how you feel about yourself. Beverley and Kim also explore the critical inner voice Kim calls “the hag in the attic,” why experienced women still underestimate their value, and the difference between running everything yourself and actually leading . For women building businesses or continuing meaningful careers after 50, they discuss delegation, visibility, thought leadership, comparison with younger women, ageism, and why experience becomes more powerful when you stop trying to be everything to everyone. But this conversation goes beyond business. If you’ve spent years achieving, producing, and proving what you can do, this conversation raises a different question: After everything you’ve already accomplished, what would change if you stopped needing to prove your worth? Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. In this episode: How to stop tying your self-worth to income and achievement Why successful women still struggle with confidence after 50 Making the transition from corporate career to entrepreneurship How to stop playing small when you have decades of experience Moving from running everything yourself to becoming a stronger leader How delegation protects your time, energy, and business growth Building visibility and thought leadership after 50 Dealing with comparison and the critical voice in your head How women over 50 can use experience as a professional advantage Deciding what you really want from work at this stage of life For similar episodes on owning your power, check out When Success No Longer Fits. 182 and Success, Burnout, and What Really Matters Episode 184 of Aging with Purpose and Passion. What happens when life asks more of you than you ever imagined you could give? You’ve spent years being capable, solving problems, and being there when people need you. But some things can’t be fixed, planned for, or powered through. Sometimes life changes in an instant—and you become the person everyone is counting on. That’s what happened to Diane Filato. Just weeks after the birth of Diane’s grandson, her daughter began experiencing unexplained symptoms. Then came the diagnosis no family was prepared for: ALS. Suddenly, Diane was facing the unimaginable—watching her daughter’s health decline while preparing to take on a role she never expected: raising her young grandson. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Diane shares what happens when grief and responsibility arrive at the same time. She talks candidly about the physical and emotional realities of caregiving, becoming a parent again later in life, helping a child feel safe after losing his mother, and carrying your own grief while trying to be strong for someone else. For women who are accustomed to being the capable one—the person everyone relies on—Diane’s story raises a difficult question: What do you do when life asks more of you than you believe you can give? We talk about the comments grieving families wish people wouldn’t make, why there is no timetable for “moving on,” and how memory, humour, boundaries, and ordinary routines can help create stability when a family’s world has been changed forever. Diane also shares the difference Good Grief made for her family. This community-based grief support program brings grieving children and adults together with people who understand their experience. Diane explains why peer grief support can feel very different from therapy, how children process the death of a parent, and why having a place to speak honestly—without judgment or unsolicited advice—can be so powerful. Whether you are caring for someone you love, grieving a loss, supporting a child through bereavement, taking on an unexpected family responsibility, or simply facing circumstances you never thought would be yours, Diane’s story is about something much larger than tragedy. It is about how you keep showing up when there is no way to make everything okay. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Jeannie Duckworth on caregiver guilt, dementia warning signs, memory care, senior living, and making difficult decisions before a crisis forces them. How do you know when keeping an aging parent at home is no longer the safest—or most loving—choice? For many high achieving women, that question comes with enormous guilt. You promised you'd be there. You want your parent to remain independent. And every new problem can seem manageable—until wandering, falls, medication mistakes, dementia, or caregiver exhaustion changes everything. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer speaks with Jeannie Duckworth , founder and CEO of Blue Magnolia Senior Living Advisors , about one of the most difficult transitions families face: recognizing when an aging parent needs more care than the family can safely provide. Jeannie has guided thousands of families through senior living decisions, but her understanding of caregiving also comes from personal experience with caregiving, loss, and rebuilding her own life. Together, Beverley and Jeannie explore the early signs of dementia families often explain away, what can signal that living at home is becoming unsafe, and why moving someone into memory care does not necessarily mean you've abandoned them. Sometimes a specialized setting can provide attention, structure, safety, and support that even the most devoted family cannot provide around the clock. They also discuss caregiver burnout and guilt , the differences between independent living, assisted living, board-and-care homes, and memory care, and why families are better served when these conversations happen before an emergency. Jeannie shares practical areas to address early, including advance directives, medication lists, finances, CPR preferences, and—most importantly—what good care means to the person you love. You'll also hear about caregiver support groups, Alzheimer's resources, and financial assistance that some families may qualify for, including Veterans Aid and Attendance depending on eligibility. If you're caring for an aging parent while also managing your career, family, health, and your own future, this conversation is a reminder that needing help does not mean you stopped caring . The goal isn't to prove how much you can carry. It's to make the best decision you can for everyone involved. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. In This Episode How to know when an aging parent may no longer be safe at home Early dementia signs families often overlook or explain away When it may be time to consider memory care How to manage caregiver guilt when a parent needs more help The difference between independent living, assisted living, and memory care How caregiver burnout affects families and decision-making Conversations to have with aging parents before a health crisis Advance directives, medications, finances, and end-of-life preferences Finding caregiver support and dementia resources How to plan a senior living transition before an emergency forces the decision. 🔗 Resources For similar episodes on caregiving, check out this incredible story, Driving Miss Norma. Barb Scala on burnout, people-pleasing, identity, golden handcuffs, and redefining success without blowing up your life. What happens when the successful life everyone admires no longer feels like your own? You followed the rules. Earned the credentials. Built the career. Took care of the people who depended on you. From the outside, everything looks right. Inside, you may be exhausted from performing a version of success that was shaped by someone else’s expectations. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer speaks with Barb Scala , an attorney, mediator, entrepreneur, author, and creator of the Seeds for Success™ framework, about what happens when achievement no longer brings fulfillment—and how to make meaningful changes without dismantling your entire life. Barb shares the mixed messages about success that shaped her early choices, why she remained in law school even when she wanted to leave, and how divorce forced her to confront an identity built around being capable, positive, and pleasing to others. Her story will resonate with high-achieving women over 50 who have done everything “right” but still feel burned out, disconnected, or uncertain about who they are beyond their professional and personal roles. Beverley and Barb explore the pull of the golden handcuffs —the income, status, and security that can make an unfulfilling life difficult to leave. They also discuss why financial well-being cannot be separated from emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and how thoughtful planning, a safety net, and small deliberate steps can make change possible without an impulsive leap. Barb also introduces her BLOOM framework : Believe, Let Go, Own Your Value, Optimize Your Energy, and Manifest. Here, manifesting is not wishful thinking. It is aligned, intentional action grounded in self-worth, clarity, and personal responsibility. If everyone thinks you have it all together—but privately you wonder whether the life you are living is truly yours—this conversation will help you examine what still belongs, what no longer serves you, and how to redefine success on your own terms. Stay until the end, when Beverley shares key takeaways and practical actions you can begin using immediately. Laura Rotter on financial confidence, purpose, career transitions, and building a life that reflects who you've become. What happens when you've built a successful life—but quietly wonder if it still fits who you are today? You've worked hard. Built the career. Earned the respect. Created financial security. From the outside, everything looks successful. Inside, something feels different. If you're a high-performing woman over 50 navigating a career transition, retirement, divorce, or simply asking, "What's next?" this conversation is for you. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , I sit down with Laura Rotter , founder of True Abundance Advisors and former Wall Street investment executive, to explore what happens when external success no longer reflects your inner values—and why that realization can become the beginning of a more meaningful life. Laura shares how growing up with financial uncertainty fueled her determination to become financially independent, why Wall Street once felt like the perfect intellectual challenge, and how the industry's changing culture slowly left her feeling disconnected from work she once loved. What began as quiet dissatisfaction eventually became impossible to ignore. Mindfulness, yoga, and deep self-reflection helped Laura reconnect with her own voice. Then an unexpected layoff gave her the opportunity she hadn't been willing to give herself—to build a business aligned with her values instead of someone else's definition of success. Together we explore: • Why success can stop feeling fulfilling—even when everything looks good on paper • How to know when you've outgrown the life you've built • Reinvention after 50 and navigating major life transitions • Retirement planning that supports the life you actually want • Divorce, financial confidence, and reclaiming your independence • Why organizing your finances is an act of self-care—not restriction • How financial clarity reduces anxiety and helps you make better decisions • Why more money doesn't create self-worth—it simply magnifies what's already there Laura also explains why she chose a fee-only financial planning model, how values-based investing creates greater peace of mind, and why true abundance isn't measured by wealth alone. If you've ever found yourself wondering whether your success still reflects who you've become, this conversation will remind you that it's never too late to redefine what a meaningful life looks like. Because the goal isn't simply to have more. It's to build a life that feels as successful on the inside as it looks on the outside. How do you keep showing up for everyone else without losing yourself? How high-performing women can navigate caregiving, burnout, and life transitions without sacrificing themselves. If you're caring for aging parents, supporting a spouse through illness, balancing work, family, and everyone else's needs, you know how easy it is to put yourself last. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer talks with Amy Lokken , founder of The Amy Factor , about caregiving, burnout, self-respect, and what happens when high-performing women quietly begin disappearing beneath the weight of responsibility. Amy's insights come from lived experience. She cared for both of her parents until their final breath, supported her mother through dementia, and years later found herself caring for her husband through serious health challenges—all while leading a business and trying not to lose herself in the process. Together, we explore: • Caregiving and the sandwich generation • Dementia and caring for aging parents • Supporting a spouse through illness • Burnout in high-performing women • Self-respect versus self-sacrifice • Leadership through life's hardest seasons • Identity after caregiving • Life transitions and reinvention after 50 • Resilience, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing Amy shares why caregiving is one of the highest forms of leadership, how small daily compromises quietly erode self-respect, and what it takes to care for the people you love without abandoning yourself. If you've ever felt exhausted, overwhelmed, invisible, or wondered where you went while taking care of everyone else, this conversation will remind you that caring for yourself isn't selfish—it's essential. Because the people who depend on you need the healthiest, strongest version of you. ✨ What's Next for You? Who do you turn to when everyone turns to you for answers? Success can be lonely—especially for women in leadership. Whether you're a founder, business owner, executive, board member, or a high-performing woman leading others, there are decisions you can't always share, doubts you keep to yourself, and pressures few people truly understand. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer sits down with entrepreneur and KELLA founder Hannah Wrixon to explore one of leadership's least talked about challenges: loneliness at the top. Hannah's story didn't begin in the boardroom. She shares the experiences that shaped her resilience—from surviving abuse and becoming a single mother to building and selling businesses, navigating grief and depression, and discovering that success doesn't protect you from feeling alone. Together, we explore: • Women in leadership • Leadership loneliness and executive burnout • Career transitions and reinvention after 50 • Women entrepreneurs and business leadership • Psychological safety and trusted peer networks • Decision-making under pressure • Asking for help without losing confidence • Resilience, purpose, and authentic leadership If you've ever felt the weight of leading, struggled to make difficult decisions in silence, or believed you had to have all the answers, this conversation will remind you that the strongest leaders aren't the ones who carry everything alone. They're the ones who know where it's safe to tell the truth. ✨ What's Next for You? “It is what it is” can sound wise. But sometimes it’s just the sentence that keeps you stuck. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion , Beverley Glazer talks with author and publishing partner Lynn Miller , whose book Ahead of Their Time is based on more than 200 interviews with pioneers who challenged broken systems and created new possibilities. Together, they explore one powerful question: What if there’s another way? Lynn shares how childhood challenges, opera training, caregiving, loss, advocacy, and research into pioneers shaped her understanding of reinvention, resilience, and purpose. This conversation is for women over 50 navigating life transitions, career change, caregiving, loss, uncertainty, or the quiet feeling that the life they built no longer fully fits. You’ll hear how to stop accepting “that’s just how it is,” ask better questions, reuse your strengths in new ways, and begin creating a meaningful next chapter. Because reinvention after 50 doesn’t begin with having all the answers. It begins with refusing to stop asking. ✨ What’s Next for You? The scariest part of a diagnosis isn't always the disease. It's realizing you have to make life-changing decisions when you're scared, exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure what questions to ask next. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer sits down with Dr. Tiffany Troso, an oncologist with more than 25 years of experience helping women navigate breast cancer, gynecologic cancer, treatment decisions, and the emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. Patients often leave medical appointments with information. But not always with clarity. Dr. Troso explains how to become a more empowered patient, communicate effectively with your healthcare team, get the most from medical appointments, and make confident healthcare decisions when the stakes feel overwhelming. We discuss: • Breast cancer and gynecologic cancer • Patient advocacy and self-advocacy • Questions to ask after a cancer diagnosis • Why second opinions matter • Understanding treatment options • Organizing medical records and test results • Managing fear, uncertainty, and overwhelm • Building confidence during treatment • Caregiving and support during cancer • Navigating the healthcare system Dr. Troso also shares her own story of reinvention after being diagnosed with a neurodegenerative eye disease—an experience that transformed her understanding of resilience, patient care, and what people need most when life changes unexpectedly. If you've ever faced a serious diagnosis, cared for someone you love, or felt overwhelmed by medical decisions, this conversation will help you move from confusion to clarity and from fear to informed action. Because taking back control doesn't start with having all the answers. It starts with asking the right questions. Retirement gets sold as a reward. For many women, it quietly becomes a trap. You stop being challenged. You stop being seen. You start wondering if your best years are behind you. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer Life and Work Transition Expert sits down with Dr. Sara Hart, leadership development expert, executive coach, and founder of Prime Spark Women and Antiretirement: For Women Too Smart to Retire. After more than 40 years in corporate leadership and consulting, Sara began questioning one of society's biggest assumptions: that retirement should be the goal. What if it isn't? Sara shares her own reinvention story, including the bold decision to leave a successful career, sell most of what she owned, and drive across the country to start a completely new chapter in San Francisco. Together, we explore what happens when women outgrow the roles, expectations, and identities they've carried for decades. We discuss: • Retirement after 50 • Career change and reinvention • Ageism and stereotypes about older women • Finding purpose after retirement • Building a second act • Consulting, volunteering, and portfolio careers • Confidence and self-belief in midlife • Women over 50 in the workplace • Personal growth and lifelong learning • Creating a meaningful future on your own terms If you're wondering whether retirement is really the finish line, navigating a career transition after 50, or looking for a new sense of purpose, this conversation will challenge the assumptions you've been taught about aging, work, and what's possible next. Paige Arnof-Fenn on caregiving, entrepreneurship, boundaries, and redefining success Your calendar can be full and your life can still feel out of alignment. For many high-achieving women over 50, success becomes a habit: say yes, stay visible, work harder, keep producing, keep proving. Until life forces a different conversation. In this episode of Aging With Purpose and Passion, Beverley Glazer speaks with Paige Arnof-Fenn, founder of Mavens & Moguls, branding expert, entrepreneur, and former marketing executive whose career spans Wall Street, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, internet startups, and building a successful global consulting firm. But this conversation isn't really about marketing. It's about what happens when success collides with real life. Paige shares how six years of family illness, caregiving, loss, travel, and estate responsibilities transformed the way she viewed work, ambition, relationships, and success itself. The lesson surprised her: Doing less did not make her less successful. It made her more intentional. Together, we explore career reinvention after 50, entrepreneurship, burnout, caregiving, personal branding, networking, boundaries, work-life priorities, and why human connection matters more than ever in the age of AI. We discuss: • Reinvention after 50 • Entrepreneurship and building a business • Burnout and overachievement • Caregiving and family responsibilities • Personal branding and visibility • Networking and meaningful relationships • Boundaries and intentional living • Life transitions after 50 • Redefining success in midlife • Creating a meaningful second act If you're tired of treating urgency like a lifestyle, feeling trapped by expectations, or wondering whether success still looks the way it used to, this conversation will make you feel seen. Dr. Prudence Hall on HRT, bioidentical hormones, brain fog, fatigue, and reclaiming vitality in midlife You didn’t lose your ambition. Your body changed the rules. For high-performing women over 50, menopause can feel like betrayal. You’re doing what always worked — pushing harder, eating better, staying busy, holding everything together — but suddenly your energy, sleep, mood, weight, focus, and confidence don’t respond the same way. Then too many women hear the same dismissive message: “It’s normal. Just live with it.” Dr. Prudence Hall says no. In this episode of Aging with Purpose and Passion , Dr. Hall — OBGYN, author, and founder of The Hall Center — explains what really changes during perimenopause and menopause, and why women deserve better answers than silence, shame, or one-size-fits-all medicine. We talk about hormone replacement therapy, HRT, bioidentical hormones, brain fog, fatigue, weight gain, sleep, inflammation, metabolic health, stress, trauma, and functional medicine for women over 50. But this conversation is bigger than hormones. It’s about reclaiming authority over your body at the exact stage when many women are told to step back, shrink down, or accept decline. If you’ve been thinking, “I don’t feel like myself anymore,” this episode will help you understand why — and what to ask for next. Menopause is not the end of your vitality. It may be the moment you finally stop tolerating less than full power. If you've been enjoying these episodes, please drop a review and send it to a friend. Mary Madeiras on intuition, reinvention, and the Akashic Records You built the life. You earned the success. So why don't you feel something is missing? Mary Madeiras won three Emmy Awards and The Screen Director Award of America. She is also the author of The Akashic Way , and an Advanced Akashic Records practitioner. She spent years directing on major television networks and had daytime TV hits, including General Hospital and Another World. Mary built a successful career many women spend a lifetime chasing. But achievement could not silence the deeper question rising underneath it all: What happens when the version of success you created no longer feels aligned with who you are becoming? In this episode of Aging with Purpose and Passion , Mary shares her journey from Emmy-winning television director to spiritual teacher and Akashic Records practitioner — and why reinvention after 50 is often less about external change and more about inner truth. This conversation goes beyond career transition and midlife reinvention. It explores the hidden exhaustion many high-performing women carry after decades of proving, performing, producing, and pushing through. We talk about: reinvention after 50 career change and identity shifts intuition and self-trust spiritual awakening in midlife burnout from achievement culture finding purpose after success and how the Akashic Records can help people reconnect with clarity, direction, and inner guidance Mary also explains the Akashic Records in grounded, practical language — not as something to fear or worship, but as a tool for self-understanding and deeper awareness at life’s crossroads. If you’ve been successful on the outside but disconnected on the inside… if your old definition of success no longer fits… this episode will make you feel seen. Dr. Angela Mulrooney on identity loss, forced retirement, burnout, personal branding, and rebuilding relevance after a career-ending diagnosis. When your career disappears, your ego panics. Your identity is what needs rebuilding. Dr. Angela Mulrooney was in the middle of surgery when her hands stopped working. Soon after, she was told not to touch another patient. Six months later, the diagnosis arrived — and the dental career she had built since childhood was over. For high-performing women over 50, this conversation hits a nerve many quietly carry: Who am I if I can no longer do the thing that made me successful? In this episode of Aging with Purpose and Passion , Angela shares the emotional crash of losing her professional identity, the financial fear that followed, and the painful reality of rebuilding after forced career change, burnout, and health crisis. But this is not a story about giving up. It’s about reinvention. We talk about: career transition after 50 identity loss and reinvention burnout and health wake-up calls forced retirement and starting over LinkedIn visibility and personal branding turning expertise into intellectual property and influence and why experienced women must stop shrinking in a culture obsessed with youth Angela also shares how losing her career unexpectedly opened the door to a completely new chapter built around freedom, visibility, impact, and authority.
