I died once... but not before I'd listened to the final main instalment of the 5th annual Summer of Resi - it's the Wii 'light gun' shooter, The Umbrella Chronicles. We chat about the scenarios in the game that cover Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3 and then an exclusive finale to take down Umbrella 'once and for all'. In the summer time when the Resi is... fine. Just fine. We're basically through every mainline entry in the series now, so 2026 marks the beginning of our journey into the lower echelons of the Resident Evil pantheon. We're starting with a pretty good one, though, as Resi Revelations is a 3DS technical marvel with an awesome spooky ship setting that's somewhat marred by shoehorned action nonsense, terrible writing and some truly insufferable twats. We talk development, gameplay, story, characters, enemies, bosses, the map, and loads more - plus we rank it amongst every other Resi we've covered on the pod so far. 26th June 2026 marks 30 years since the Nintendo 64 launched in Japan, and Alex went so mad with the pod format for one of his seminal console that we've had to cut the pod into two parts! We're taking you on a journey through every year of the console's life cycle (including some bonus prerequisite pre-release chat) from 1996-2001, with the key developments and news, plus our thoughts on the key games. That doesn't mean they didn't bow out with an absolute banger of a console, though, so we're here to celebrate its legacy. Merry Christmas, everyone! Our treat to you this year is the start of a new to-be-annual tradition where we've created an awards show with a twist. There are nine categories, from best game and best visuals to most disappointing and worst ageing, that must be filled by games from 1995, 2005 and 2015 - 30, 20 and 10 years ago respectively. There's a bonus spot for a 1985 game if we deem it worthy. The only other rule is that there can be no more than three games for each of the three years, as much as 2005 could fill way more than that! Join us in celebrating these anniversary games, and we'll see you (hopefully) before the end of the year with the 'forgotten episode' of our Top 10 PS2 Games that Alex completely forgot to edit! It's the final draft of 2025, so we decided to introduce some new rules - each player gets one kill and one steal each. Any game can be stolen, and any game can be killed (stolen ones are subsequently untouchable). How will these new rules affect the game? Will David finally lose? Will KDB finally win? This week marks the 25th anniversary of the PlayStation 2's European launch. To celebrate, we played every (except that really long JRPG for obvious reasons) launch game and we're going to rank them in a tier list with D being absolute stinkers, and S being the cream of the crop. The games are: Aqua Aqua, Dynasty Warriors 2, Fantavision, FIFA 2001, Gradius III and IV, International Superstar Soccer, NHL 2001, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2, Ridge Racer V, Silent Scope, Smuggler's Run, SSX, Tekken Tag Tournament, TimeSplitters, and Wild Wild Racing. Something for everyone, you surely agree! Are any of them good, though? We all know Wild Wil Racing is the drizzling shits, but can any game grab the sacred S tier?
