We explain in the episode why we're making this our final year, but thanks to every single person who's supported us along the way. Let's make these last few episodes the best yet! Send us Fan Mail This month we talkabout some big box office hits from the last few weeks in cinema. We finally manage to discuss those two big horror smashes that have had everyone flooding to the cinema for a scare; we get nostalgic with a chat about 'Toy Story 5' and it's contribution to the franchise as a whole; and Ellis tells Gwilym whether Spielberg's new Sci FI epic is worth his time! Plus we give our thoughts on 'Spider-Noir', 'House of the Dragon', 'The Legend of Vox Machina', 'Jackass: Best and Last' and 'Supergirl'. We're over half way through the year now, and so far it's been a fun time at the movies! Enjoy the episode. 'Backrooms 2' is set to see Woody and Buzz opening the attic door to find some sort of liminal space where old toys go and get forgotten. Think the pogo stick, Robosapien, Beyblades and Happyland...they're all just getting forgotten back there and need saving! Send us Fan Mail It's been a minute, but we're back with reviews and discussions on all the latest in the world of Hollywood. We go on an adventure with Mando & Grogu, put on our best outfits for The Devil Wears Prada 2 and get super with some superhero TV in the form of Daredevil: Born Again, Spider-Noir, Punisher and The Boys. There's reviews of Mortal Kombat II, The Christophers, Apex, Marty Life is Short, The Sheep Detectives, Finding Emily, Tuner & (somehow) more! Plus we discuss the onslaught of movie sequels coming our way very soon and speculate when that darn Avengers trailer is going to drop. Enjoy the episode! Grogu would look great in a little Prada suit, imagine him on the red carpet using the force to push away the paparazzi. The Baby Wears Prada is inevitable surely?! Make it happen Disney. Send us Fan Mail Another month goes by and as 2026 races past us, we stop to talkabout the latest releases in film and TV. We try not to get heated in a discussion full of drama, with 'The Drama', we anticipate the ending of hit Prime show 'The Boys' and we get frustrated by the latest piece of biopic slop, 'Michael'. Plus there have been so many news stories to discuss, including a collaboration between Django (yes, that one) and Zorro (yes, that one), a return for Godzilla in a brand new trailer and a handful of other sequel stories that have us excited, apprehensive and confused. There's already talks about 'Michael' getting a sequel, and honestly we think it could benefit from 'The Mummy' director taking it a look at it; after all, he's made a statement so far as a horror director. 'Lee Cronin's Michael'...coming to a cinema near you. Send us Fan Mail With our podcast now becoming a monthly format, there is so much to talkabout. Today we dive in to a discussion about 'Project Hail Mary', and pair it with some trailer chat talking about the new 'Dune' and 'Spider-Man' trailers that have recently dropped. We give our thoughts on 'Ready or Not: Here I Come', 'How to Make a Killing', 'Hoppers' & More! Plus we're raving about the first three episodes of 'Saturday Night Live UK'. We talk Pixar & Invincible & Arnie & Lord of the Rings, and it's all wrapped up in 90 minutes of movie podcast fun. Enjoy! If 'Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice' gets a sequel they should merge with other Disney entities. Same sort of plot but a Disney multiverse angle. The opportunities are endless. Looking forward to 'Buzz & Woody & Grogu & Xenomorph'. Send us Fan Mail It's another wrapped episode packed full of fun reviews, thoughts, news stories and film-related shenanigans. We talkabout 'GOAT', 'Crime 101', 'Shelter', 'Primate', 'The Muppet Show', 'Bridgerton', 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', 'Scream 7', 'Wasteman' and more. Plus we discuss some of the newest trailers, including the new 'Backrooms' movie, and we pay tribute to Robert Duvall and Catherine O'Hara. Yes, we're aware that this episode is a couple of weeks late, but life gets in the way sometimes. And no, whilst we weren't fighting bad guys like Jason Statham or staying hidden from Ghostface, we have been busy elsewhere. We trust you'll forgive us, and that you don't class it as a crime 101. Send us Fan Mail We've come back from the future to tell you that this episode is a must listen, as we talkabout the new movie: 'Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die'. We discuss the cast, the chapters, the opening diner scene, the best films starring Taskmaster contestants, the links to AI and for the first time in a long time, we fall out so much that we have to cut to elevator music. Listen now to find out what went down! I get the good luck and the don't die part in relation to this movie (and yes I understand it's a gaming reference), but where does 'Have Fun' apply. At no point in this adventure are the people in the diner going to have fun. It's a mess out there and they're the ones having to deal with it. Should be called 'Good Luck, Have a Stress, Don't Die'. Send us Fan Mail We've taken shelter from the wily, windy moors to record an episode discussing Emerald Fennell's new film '"Wuthering Heights"'. We talkabout the loose adaptation, discussing character decisions and plot points that perhaps don't make too much sense, plus in honour of the two lead stars of the film we create a Top 5 list of Australian actors. We didn't expect to have a lot to say about this film, alas we do. Whether you agree or disagree, we hope you enjoy the episode. Is anyone out here using the word 'wuthering' in any context other than to refer to this book/film? Supposedly it dates back to the Old Norse word 'whithering' in reference to the wind on a stormy day, but surely those who live in the moors are using this word? "And in Yorkshire, it's going to be a wuthering day, so ensure you've got your big coat on." Send us Fan Mail We're trapped on an island with nothing but a couple of podcast mics and some opinions about Sam Raimi's latest movie: 'Send Help'. This week we talkabout Sam Raimi's filmography, deciding our Top 5, we discuss the incredible performances from both Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien and we speculate how long we'd last if we were stuck on an island in the aftermath of a plane crash. As Linda and Bradley find themselves a long way from the office, how will their dynamic shift to make for optimal survival, and who (if either of them) will make it out alive? Enjoy the episode! Who are they sending help to? It's not like there's anybody else about whom you can ask the question. They can ask for help and they can look and shout and burn for help, but they can't send for help. Lucky really that they had people looking for them who somehow managed to pinpoint their coordinates and search the tiny corner of the island where one of them happened to be. 'Found Help' or 'No Help' or 'Any Help?' would perhaps be more fitting titles. Alas, they probably wouldn't sell as many tickets. Send us Fan Mail These things are definitely on this week and ready for us to talkabout new Bradley Cooper directed movie: 'Is This Thing On?' We discuss the electric chemistry and individual performances from Will Arnett and Laura Dern, decide how funny the stand up of the film actually is, and create a top 5 of movies from the last six years that have been directed by actors. As Alex Novak stumbles into an open mic comedy night, will it be enough to revitalise his passion for life, and perhaps in turn for his marriage. Enjoy the episode! Asking is this thing on? is awkward whatever the response is. If the audience say no then we have an awkward lull to try and figure out how to fix it, if the answer is yes then it confirms that the audience did in fact hear the terrible joke, and didn't like it one bit. It's an awful question. Perhaps a good alternative would be 'Do you need me to repeat a bit of it for you?' or 'Who's ready to start with some comedy?'. Just some suggestions from two people who definitely are not comedians - just hear some of the jokes we attempt in this episode... Send us Fan Mail It's our first wrapped episode of the year and wow has January been a busy one. In today's episode we talkabout 100 Meters, His & Hers, I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not, Mercy, Rental Family, Seven Dials, Skyscraper Live, Song Sung Blue, Stranger Things Finale, The Rip and WWE: Unreal. Plus we dive into the biggest movie news stories of the month, detailing how excited or apprehensive we are for 'Avengers: Doomsday', discussing the trailer for the upcoming He-Man movie and going through some of the big award nominations. Plus, one film receives a place on our coveted 2026 DVD shelf... There's so much to discuss, and it's all packed inside this episode. Enjoy! Brendan Fraser will return to his Rental Family position, this time poised with the difficult task of pretending to be a cop at a big bust. The cartel are involved, and the only way Fraser can blend in, is by truly becoming the role. 'Renting a Rip'...coming to a cinema near you. Send us Fan Mail Even in a zombie (infected) apocalypse there's time to sit down and reflect, and '28 Years Later: The Bone Temple' does just that. Hot on the heels of its successful predecessor, Nia DaCosta's newest venture into the 28 universe has music moments and gore galore, and we talkabout it all in this episode. We discuss Ralph Fiennes best performances, and decide where this film ranks amongst them, and we give our take on the end of the movie, expressing our opinions on what it's all trying to say; it's safe to say spoilers are in bound. Ultimately, we decide whether this apocalyptic horror deserves a place on our DVD shelf. Enjoy! Suppose 28 Decades Later would be a bit much. Nobody left, just a British indie film about sheep politics and which one deserves free run of the dead farmer's fields. Actually, could be quite gripping. Not a baaaad idea. Send us Fan Mail It's time to delve deep into the fictional retelling of a real love story, the story of William and Agnes Shakespeare, depicted in Chloe Zhao's new film: 'Hamnet'. We have our Horrible Histories heads on and separate the fact from the fiction, whilst highlighting some amazing pieces of acting and detailing why this is our favourite Chloé Zhao film to date. We create a Top 5 of Golden Globe best Drama winners, as well as discussing our special skills and accents - is Shakespearean on the list? Ultimately, we decide whether Hamnet deserves a place on our DVD shelf. Enjoy the episode! Turns out they've not spelt Hamlet wrong, their son just had the same name with a different letter. Imagine If our parents wrote a play about either of us, and just changed a letter to separate it. There'd be no question that a play called Elnis or Gwinym was likely about one of us. Send us Fan Mail This week we kick off the year with an episode talking about Timothee Chalamet's newest film: 'Marty Supreme'. We talkabout our favourite Chalamet performances, creating a Top 5 list of his films, as well as delving into the films highs, discussing plot moments and ultimately deciding whether it deserves the first spot on our 2026 shelf. Each episode we discuss a new film, and decide if we want it to go on our DVD shelf. The shelf consists of just 10 spots, so if it gets full, something has to go to make room. This episode marks the start of a new shelf for 2026. Enjoy! There's a scene in this film where someone covers themselves in honey (we talkabout it in the episode), and honestly there's not many people we'd cover ourselves in honey for. I imagine you'd be scrubbing for weeks to remove that; like when you get a bit of tree sap on your finger, but it's all over you. Sticky. Send us Fan Mail Yippi-Ki-Yay it's Christmas, and for this year's festive special we're heading to Nakatomi Plaza to talk all things Gruber vs McClane as we discuss Christmas Action classic 'Die Hard'. Send us Fan Mail This week we suspect foul play, as Benoit Blanc returns for a third 'Knives Out' mystery in 'Wake Up Dead Man'. Another all star cast assembled, Rian Johnson back in the directors chair, and a murder plot so twisted you'll be able to play along at home. We discuss everyone's motives, character details and interactions, as well as having a chat about Blanc's luscious locks and deciding how far we think we could throw Glenn Close...we couldn't trust her as far as we could throw her. We also conduct a draft pick of the cast's best movies and find out which cast member used to be a makeup artist. Ultimately, we are left with a decision: is this a DVD shelf worthy film, or simply a facade of mediocrity. Enjoy! Could we throw Benoit Blanc into some other universes perhaps? Hey, it looks like Netflix are on their way to owning everything so why not have him solve a murder in Hawkins; or head to Arrakis to see who killed a Harkonnen lord...the possibilities are endless. Send us Fan Mail This week on talkabout we have a handful of great films to discuss as well as some TV that's taken audiences by storm. We return to Zootopia/tropolis (depending on where you're listening from) for the best Disney film in nearly 10 years; we watch Oscar Isaac create Jacob Elordi as GDT makes his passion project; we give reviews of 'Blue Moon', 'Now you see Me, Now You Don't', 'Friendship', 'Pluribus', 'The Mighty Nein' and of course the first volume of the last season of 'Stranger Things'. And that's (remarkably) not all! We dive into some of the big news stories of the month, sharing our opinions on 'Rush Hour 4', Netflix' potential purchase of Warner Bros and a new Miss Piggy film. Enjoy! Stranger Things will inevitably return when they're all old. It would be amazing if the legacy season saw Eleven building a Vecna from scratch because she missed having a monster to fight. Creating an ultimate foe from the remains of all the other slimy inhabitants of the Upside down. 'Frankenthings'...coming to a cinema near you. Send us Fan Mail This week on talkabout, we spend a clock tick talking about the second act in a two-part movie musical extravaganza: 'Wicked: For Good'. Gwilym is unwell, so this week Ellis tackles the episode solo, going through his co-host's written review and sharing some thoughts of his own. Continuity problems, music moments and a pile of yellow bricks, we unpack the good and the wicked in this sequel. Enjoy! We forgot to mention the moment when Dorothy is in the hatch whilst Glinda and Elphaba sing lovingly to one another. She must've been like, "hold up this witch isn't evil at all listen to this it's stunning". That would've been first thing I mentioned to my Aunty Em when I woke up.
