The Valentyne Heresy: A Warhammer 40K RPG

Last episode, the Agents of the Inquisition made the final preparations before their flight onto the Ork Rok that has enveloped the Blackstone Pylon codenamed Ravenor. The Judge’s consciousness was transported into the Inquisitork’s body, where he still occasionally battles to take control of his Orkish instincts. Damien underwent a variety of hideously painful cosmetic and surgical procedures to make him look more like an Ork Wyrdboy. Morgan oversaw the painting and Ork-ification of the Emperor’s Bared Teeth, and Stevius agreed to fly the team down to their target and await orders to pick them up when the mission was done. Solomon realized that Judge’s cyber-mastiff should also be disguised and painted the mechanical beast in appropriate Ork colours. With everything decided, including their first strike being at the Goff’s at the top of the Rok’s Ork hierarchy, all that’s left to do is to fly there and get past the Ork armada guarding the place. Can they survive long enough to get to the Pylon’s surface? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, the Agents of the Inquisition arrived in the Damascus system and received a briefing on the Ork forces that currently held sway over the Blackstone Pylon codenamed Ravenor. The Judge introduced the team to his new cyber-mastiff, which he named an expletive, and gave secondary command of the mechanical creature to Solomon and Damien. Solomon decided that Whistler would remain onboard the ship during this mission, and became part of the welcoming party bringing food for the Militarum observer alongside Stevius who brought a regicide board. Morgan and Damien interrogated Martin Stone, the Militarum Intelligence Officer, who gave them a full breakdown of the Ork Rok they were moving towards and the Ork forces in the system. Hearing the facts laid out the Judge decided the team should strike for the Goffs, the most powerful Ork Klan, once they made their way down to the Pylon. Damien and the Judge, annoyed by Martin Stone’s voice, tried to put a helmet on him before Morgan sent them away. She hopes Solomon and Stevius will show the observer more dignity while the team completes the final steps of their preparations for this mission. Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, the Agents of the Inquisition had their final day of preparation before their arrival in the Damascus system. The Judge finished his Ork-ducation with a lesson on Ork psychology that he promptly used to successfully manipulate the Inquisitork into behaving. Morgan, meanwhile, confessed to Solomon that the team was working under Special Condition. Realizing she had told Solomon, so the secret was out, she soon called a meeting with the Judge and Damien. Confessing this terrible secret to them as well sent Daminen spiralling into paranoia but he was forced to contain his fears as he has no choice but to stay (as he’ll be executed as a rogue psyker anywhere else). The Judge found himself silently furious at Valentyne for the mistake he believes the Inquisitor made keeping this all secret, and ordered CL053T to build him a new REX2 that he named an expletive. Solomon and Damien couldn’t find comfort in sharing the truth before bed, while the Judge tried to give Morgan a replacement desk. Though that didn’t work, the two found a moment of silent connection. The team’s status under Special Condition has been revealed and there are no more secrets left. Will this help them in their next mission, or will a lack of confidence lead the Agents of the Inquisition to their doom? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, the Agents of the Inquisition continued preparing for their next mission alongside the Inquisitork. The Judge continued his ork-ducation and learned about Ork klans and weapon names. Damien continued to experiment with the “green fury” of Ork warp energy and realized there were two schools of xenos psykery: the brutal and the cunning. Solomon discussed his distrust of Morgan’s secrecy with Stevius before ultimately deciding he needed to speak with her. And Morgan found little information on the Blackstone pylon or the Damascus system before she was forced to face the challenges of leadership in a conversation with Solomon. She won him over, but he ended the conversation asking if there were any secrets she was holding back. Will Morgan risk telling Solomon and the others the team is operating under Special Condition? Or will she stay true to her paranoia and make sure they don’t hesitate to follow her? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, the Agents of the Inquisition began preparing for their next mission alongside the Inquisitork. Morgan worked with Avarice and CL053T to build a hypnomat machine to speed-teach the Judge Ork Kultur and customs. Solomon spent his time training Whistler and finally taught the Kroot Hound basic commands in a way that stuck. But most importantly of all, Damien and the Judge began training alongside the Inquisitork itself. The Judge allowed himself to be battered by the creature before bringing in some combat servitors to really let the Ork release its aggression. Damien, throughout this process, began to identify and get in touch with “the Green Fury” a term he uses to describe Ork psyker effects. He’s already learned a new painful form of Ork healing and how to force people to speak the truth. With only days left before their mission begins - can Damien truly become a Wyrdboy and can the Judge learn how to take over the Inquisitork’s body and become a convincing Warboss? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, the Inquisitork was released from its cryopod and the Inquisitorial band were thrust into a battle for dominance. Pushing the Judge to the fore, the rest of the team attempted to assist him in overcoming the creature. Damien ended up heavily injured, but the hierarchy of dominance was established cleanly: Morgan is “Boss Boss” and the Judge is “Da Nob”, under which serves the Inquisitork. Morgan realized Damien would need proximity to the Ork to figure out how the xenos psyker powers work, and with the conflict over and the Inquisitork fed, returned to her quarters. The Judge apologized privately to Morgan for his previous blasphemous statements about the Inquisitor and requested a canine body to repair Rex2 - but Morgan told him he would only receive it after the mission if his work impressed her. Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, Avarice gave Morgan the information required for her team’s upcoming mission. She learned the Inquisitork was an Ork that had been altered to be loyal to the Inquisition and was currently being thawed out of a cryo-pod onboard the Lucky Strike. She also learned her team’s mission is to convince an ork armada to leave a Blackstone pylon codenamed “Ravenor”. It will be an undercover mission with Damien training alongside the Inquisitork to learn how to act as a “Wyrd Boy”, and the Judge is to use his wraithbone implants to take over the Inquisitork’s body and become Warboss of the Ork forces. Valentyne intended for the Judge to have learned the Ork language, Ork Kultur, Ork weaponry, Ork Psychology and all things Ork during his captivity with Libertine Morwith. However, when Morgan explained this to the team the Judge pulled her aside and admitted he learned nothing during his captivity and made furious statements about the Inquisitor’s incompetence. Morgan promised the Judge future punishment for his heresy and told him HE would be judged after this mission. They returned to  the rest of the team - but before they could talk further the Inquisitork was revived and Morgan now finds herself facing off with a xenos wearing a custom-made Commissar’s uniform in CL053T’s hold. Can the agents of the Inquisition survive meeting their newest teammate? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, the Judge finally underwent a dangerous Rejuvenat treatment. Despite CL053T’s lack of experience providing the procedure the Judge fully recovered, though he lost a few of his core memories in the process. Solomon was relieved to see a bit of the Judge’s interest in regicide remained. Relieved by the Judge’s recovery, Morgan went to the chapel and found herself having a heart-to-heart conversation with Damien, who revealed at first his frustrations but eventually his interest in becoming an Interrogator as well. She buoyed his spirits before finding an uneasy rest along with the rest of the team as they travelled through the warp. The next morning, before the others awoke, Morgan decided at Avarice’s prompting that in the future she would call upon Spartacus and his Kroot to help her party instead of sourcing an Imperial Guard regiment. With this decision made Morgan was sent to tell CL053T to wake up the “Inquisitork” which she found deeply concerning. Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, Solomon went about inviting each member of the core band to welcome Talos Ivo, Stevius Funkhauser and Whistler with a Promethean Secret Ceremony. Each new member of the team revealed their greatest desire and greatest fear (except Whistler who just ate and drank) and Solomon added a seared meat snack to the ceremony to honour the Kroot. After the ceremony Morgan took the Judge to receive rejuvenat treatment, though Solomon hesitantly admitted he preferred the Judge as he was now. Left to themselves, Solomon and Damien had a deep and earnest discussion about faith where neither budged from their position but they both hoped the galaxy was more forgiving than Damien had been taught. Strapped down to receive a full brain rejuvenat in CL053T’s tech bay, the Judge was told to focus on the memory of his family as the pain began. Will the Judge survive this treatment or will Morgan be forced to find a new member for her team? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. Last episode, Morgan had successfully brought the Judge back to the team but realized he was in terrible condition. She made a list of priorities for his treatment, and ordered CL053T to prepare a rejuvenat treatment for the elderly arbitrator. While that was happening Damien took up position in the chapel and created a “purge book” to pour all of his doubts into so he could free his mind of them. Solomon was summoned by the Judge to play regicide and, due to the Judge’s deteriorating condition, Solomon could ask questions freely of the old man and get honest answers - learning that the Judge had far more ethical flexibility (and faith in the Emperor) that even Solomon expected. Morgan returned, bringing the Judge his “Cannon” helm as a temporary replacement for his lost Arbites one. But can they save the Judge’s mind? And will the new members of the team survive their first official meeting with the Arbites? Last episode Morgan was invited to meet with Libertine Morwith aboard the Shadow to negotiate the Judge’s return and made the trip solo despite the team’s objections. Solomon and Damien spent their time preparing the Lucky Strike for combat in case the situation deteriorated. In her negotiations Morgan remained cautious, only revealing what she had to, and successfully brought the Judge home - discovering he is in worse condition than she expected. Physically he is strong, but a horrible toll has been taken on his mind and she’s not sure if he can be returned to his former glory. Last episode, the Judge was forced to battle his fellow captive Tasha while puppeting the body of an Ork. Victorious, he struck Tasha down and the others swore vengeance against him before enacting a deadly battle of their own. Meanwhile, the rest of the agents returned to the Lucky Strike and introduced Stevius Funkhauser to the rest of the crew. During a brief moment of transition Morgan filed reports about the rest of the team - then Avarice reported they had arrived in a system containing Libertine Morwith’s ship, the Shadow, and the menacing Rogue Trader reached out to negotiate the Judge’s return. Last episode, the Judge was slowly losing his mind on the ship of the Rogue Trader Libertine Morwith. His fellow prisoners have been training, learning combat and social skills, becoming more capable and forming bonds between themselves. The Judge, however, refused to partake and was eventually chained up to prevent him from harming himself trying to escape. Now they all face a final test, a battle to the death where they're forced to take over the body of Orks - and the Judge has to participate and fight a woman who he has begun confusing with his granddaughter. Can the Judge survive this final test? Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. The Judge became acquainted with three other prisoners, who had all undergone the same Wraithbone surgery. As the weeks went on, they were each taken away to be indoctrinated through hypnotherapy into xenos cultures. Alastair learned the speech and movements of the Aeldari language, while the Mayor received the education of a chaos cultist and learned some warpcraft, and the Judge and Tasha became accustomed with Ork speech and terminology. The Judge, however, refused to acknowledge that he had learned anything and resisted until he was left alone. Judge Rex awoke in a cell, strapped to a slab with Rex 2 muzzled in a nearby kennel, having been abducted from the Lucky Strike. One of his captors, Tina, said she was working on behalf of a client and would be surgically inserting Wraithbone into his body. The Judge failed to bargain with his captor, and the surgeries continued for 68 days until he made a desperate play to free himself but only managed to get his beloved cybermastiff killed in the attempt. After more than 2 months of constant procedures, he was released into a general area, along with 3 other prisoners who had just been through the same ordeal. The agents and their allies faced off against Aun’o Artemis, who was operating a massive battlesuit. Damien drew on his psyker abilities and successfully commanded Aun’o Artemis to eject from the suit, leaving the Ethereal unprotected. Solomon struck Aun’o Artemis as the Tau flew through the air towards him, cleaving him through and revealing that the so-called Ethereal had been an imposter. The battle over, Morgan declared that the Tau’va had been saved and the Tau could return home, which was enough to persuade the xenos to leave the planet and resolve their mission. The Kroot resolved to stay on the planet, waiting for their own to pick them up, as they no longer trusted the Tau. The agents set off, taking Whistler and Stevius with them, for now. The agents, Gue’vesa gangs, and Kroot laid siege to the central dome that housed Aun’o Artemis, fighting Fire caste warriors, drones, and a Crisis Battlesuit. Damien unleashed warpfire, Solomon threw photon grenades to disorient the Tau warriors, and Morgan used her smaller size and nimbleness to deftly move through her enemies as she attacked. Solomon dealt the killing blow to the Tau inside the Crisis suit, but then an even large figure in a massive battlesuit stepped out: Aun’o Artemis. Brother Solomon informed the Vespid of Aun’o Artemis’s betrayal of the Tauva and of his illegitimate claim to his position. The Vespid said they would determine the truth of his corruption, and would kill Solomon and his people if it was in fact deception. Excella Rhodes, Spartacus, and the Agents decided on their plan of attack and Solomon informed the Vespid through the helmet they had given him. The Vespid took off, and fire caste warriors began to counter, Morgan gave the single, and all their allies began their attack. Unbeknownst to them all, a Tau Ghostkeel Battlesuit had been activated. Featuring players Del Borovic, Guy Bradford, Josh Halbot, and Tyler Hewitt, and Dungeon Master Ryan LaPlante. As the agents made plans to challenge the Ethereal, Spartacus heard how Morgan spoke of xenos and he no longer trusted her to help the Kroot find a way off the planet. Solomon, however, considered his alliance with the Kroot to be sincere, and promised to help them. Spartacus took Solomon to treat with the Vespid, but as they approached the Hive, it seemed to be emitting harmful radiation. Damien, Morgan, and Excella Rhodes, meanwhile, devised a plan to draw the Fire Caste into an ambush, but it would only work if the Vespid agreed to be used as a distraction. The agents returned to the Kroot dome, Spartacus summoned Tau that might be sympathetic, and Stevius left to round up Gue’vesa leaders to discuss the current situation. Morgan showed the Tau Romeo’s recordings of the battle and the bodies they had found in the woods. The Tau were hesitant to accept duplicity within their ranks, but accepted that unintentional mistakes may have been made. The agents followed a line of questioning that had the Tau recognizing inconsistencies coming from the Ethereal’s office, but that same line brought up the earlier discussion about the Horus Heresy, which completely unmoored Solomon. Stevius returned with Gue’vesa leaders, and they now need to strategize about how to deal with an Ethereal that may be lying to his people.
