Aerial photos have shown a large pool and lazy river in the design, and now we know this area will be known as “The Wetlands”. The area is Inspired by Pocahantas. Heron Shores will be a play area with unique climbing features. Otter Springs will be a splash pad with a small slide for little ones. Daydream River is the lazy river that runs throughout the area. Lakeshore Lagoon will be the resort's main pool with a zero-entry feature and a spiral water slide. Finally, on the other side of the resort is the quiet pool, Perspective Pond, which will also have a whirlpool spa nearby. They also mention a historic plaque marking the location of the previous existing “River Country” on this spot. Source: Disney Parks Blog New Experiences at Boardwalk In the former Jellyrolls location, a new entertainment venue called “Hurly-Burly” will be opening at Disney's Boardwalk. Described as a “historic seaside theater with vibrant Boardwalk story that spans over a century”, this spot will host family-friendly events like trivia and other activities during the day with a charismatic host. At night, the venue converts to an adults-only venue with drinks, light bites, and musical entertainment. Also announced, Basin will be bringing a new retail experience to the boardwalk. Permits have been issued for former Big River Grille space referencing “Project Amazon ” and former gallery space referencing “Project Bubbles.” While no permits have been issued, the interior of the former Jellyrolls space has been partially demolished, leaving the side of the building open and surrounded by construction walls. New Direct Pricing and Incentives Released On February 10th, the base prices for the 5 current DVC resorts were increased, with Disney's Riviera Resort , Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and Aulani increasing to $243 per point, an $8 increase. The Villas at Disneyland Hotel also increased $3 to $248 per point. New incentives have also been announced. A $1,000 flat offer is now on the books for new members for 200-point or higher contracts, and existing members 150-point contracts. In addition, another $1,000 is available for Disney Visa holders for 150-point or larger contracts. Each resort also has additional point discounts off of the base price starting at 100-points for existing members and 150-points for new members in addition to the $1000. For example, new Riviera buyers can get $15 off at the 150-point purchase price, while current members see a $19 per point discount. It should be noted that this is NOT the quiet pool near the DVC rooms, which is listed as the Dunes Cove pool and was last refurbished in 2023. Disney celebrates America's 250th with new version of Soarin’ Last month, Disney announced that the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States will kick-off on Veterans day, November 11th, and continue through July 4th, 2026. The biggest piece of news is that Soarin’ will be updated to “Soarin’ across America” in summer 2026. In addition, both coasts will have extended fireworks presentations for from July 3rd through July 5th. In addition, there will be a 24-hour long media event across Disney platforms on July 4th, as well as merchandise surrounding the holiday. To celebrate veterans, on November 11th Disney announced steep discounts for veterans, including a Walt Disney World ticket valid for 2026 for all active and retired military members for only $499+ tax. In addition Disney is also offering a 6-day Park Hopper pass for $449+ tax, as well as 5-day and 4-day ticket deals for military members. These offers are valid January 1 through December 18, 2026, with an advanced theme park reservation and subject to blockout dates from March 29 – April 11, 2026 and November 22 – 28, 2026. Discounts are also offered on Disneyland tickets for active and retired military, with discounted 3-Day and 4-Day Park Hopper tickets valid for visits January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, and a 1-Day, 1-Park Disneyland Resort Military Adult Ticket. Disney Cruise Line is offering special military rates on select cruises, and eligible active and retired US military personnel can earn a $250 onboard credit per stateroom for all 2026 sailings from Florida aboard the Disney Wish and Disney Dream. DVC members get exclusive early access to Zootopia: Better Zoogether Walt Disney World has announced special Disney Vacation Club Member preview days for the new Tree of Life attraction called Zootopia: Better Zoogether. With the attraction set to open to the public on November 7th, previews for DVC members have been announced for November 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Guests must have rooms booked by October 19th and the Registration date is scheduled to open on October 23rd. It is expected to work similar to the queue for Moonlight Magic. If you have an annual pass, there are also AP previews scheduled for November 5th and 6th. The attraction will use a virtual queue system for those days. The ticket range for a single day ticket for each park is now as follows: Magic Kingdom: $159 – $209 (increase of $10) EPCOT: $139 – $209 (increase of $15) Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $149 – $204 (increase of $5) Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $119 – $184 (increase of $5) Park hopper tickets and multi-day tickets for the last quarter of 2026 also show a year-over-year increase. Parking also increased from $30 to $35 for standard rates. In addition, Disney has removed the discount on ordering a magic band with your resort reservation, which usually save $10 off the price. Registration for these dates will be available starting on October 2nd at 11 AM for guests with resort reservations, and October 11th for members without reservations. Disneyland to eliminate early entry in 2026, close Pixar Pier entrance to DCA For many years, Disneyland Resort has allowed guests and Disney Vacation Club Members staying at on-site hotels to enter one of the two parks 30 minutes early, allowing a slight jump on the crowds. On January 5th, 2026, early entry will no longer be offered and will be replaced by a free entry to one Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction per person for the resort stay. The Individual Lightning Lane attractions are not included as choices. In addition, the Pixar Pier entrance to Disney’s California Adventure will be closing on January 5th. Resort Guests will be allowed to enter through the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel entrance. New Animation experience coming to Hollywood Studios Walt Disney World has announced that a new experience themed around “The Magic of Disney Animation” will take the place of Star Wars Launch Bay. Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short film, “Once Upon A Studio,” the attraction will be housed in a building reminiscent of the iconic Roy E. Disney Animation Building, with a large Sorcerer’s Hat overlooking the entrance. Inside, guests will be able to interact and explore the Disney Animation headquarters, which will include portraits that come to life, a short film, and character sketch opportunities. Young children can explore the “Drawn to Wonderland” playground filled with an oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset and a Tulgey Wood exploration area, all inspired by the original “Alice in Wonderland” concept art from Disney Legend Mary Blair. This new area is scheduled to open in 2026. To make way for this new experience, Star Wars Launch Bay will be closing permanently on September 25th. While no official announcement has been made, no the operating calendar lists the water park as closed. Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid will close for a short refurbishment on July 21st through 26th. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close for the addition of new technology on August 4th. An opening date has not been shared other than in 2026. Spaceship Earth is closing for a refurbishment on August 25th. While this closure is not expected to result in any extensive changes, the refurbishment could last for a few months. The only information provided is that it will reopen “later in the year”. Hall of Presidents reopened in Magic Kingdom on June 29th. Disney Vacation Club members will also have an opportunity to ride on July 12th. Members need to have a stay booked on that day with the reservation made by July 6th.
