In this episode, Mike Granato & Shaun Webb from Athletic Motion Golf Podcast answer the comment they get every single week: "Amateurs shouldn't try to copy tour players." Using years of 3D data on tour winners, they explain why that advice is backwards. The players in their database are not physical outliers. Many fail basic mobility screens that amateurs pass. What actually separates them is simpler movements, repeated inside a tight, learnable window, not more talent or more flexibility. They break down why good players fall into a narrow range on things like hip turn, arm bend, and spine angle (and why bad golf swings fall into a much wider one), the "shifting through the gears" idea versus jumping straight to full effort, and why two pros with completely different builds can both produce 180 mph ball speed through technique and sequencing, not strength. Then they get into the practical takeaway: find your own 3 or 4 "dominoes," the small number of things that move your swing back into a good window, write them on a note card, and stop chasing a new fix every week. They also cover why setup (grip, ball position, aim) drifts faster than your actual swing, and why removing variables before you practice is the fastest way to actually get better. You don't have to be a physical specimen to move like a tour player. You just have to move simply, and in the right direction. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency Chapters 00:00 The comment they get every single week 00:20 "Amateurs shouldn't copy pros" (and why that's backwards) 00:38 Every sport, you study the best and steal from them 01:12 Nobody says that about investing or car mechanics 01:50 What tour data actually reveals 02:01 Why tour players aren't always physically impressive 02:29 What TPI screening shows about tour players' bodies 03:03 Physical gifts are not the differentiator 03:35 What "95% of the database does this" really means 04:00 The trail arm window almost everyone can do 04:34 Giving the easiest solution that matches what pros do 04:56 No videos on "you must be 68 degrees open" 05:16 Teaching to a window most golfers can reach 05:47 Why "natural" doesn't mean simple 06:16 Stacking simple movements creates efficiency 06:39 Shifting through the gears vs jumping straight to full speed 07:17 Effortless power vs powerless effort 07:24 Two pros, different builds, same 180 ball speed 08:04 Why strength isn't the whole story 08:09 Why AMG started measuring in the first place 08:49 What it was like before 3D was available 09:33 Comparing his own swing to the data for the first time 09:58 Two and a half years spent going the wrong direction 10:30 Digging out of a swing hole is harder than building one 11:12 Two roads: the quirky outlier swing, or the tight window 11:42 Every great player has gone through a bad spell 12:04 What do you fix when a quirky swing breaks down? 12:36 Why players should get scanned when they're playing well 13:12 "Easier to put Humpty Dumpty back together" 13:54 The player who didn't want to see his own swing 14:04 You can't go back to old feels. In today's Athletic Motion Golf podcast, Mike Granato & Shaun Webb discuss one of their biggest realizations from years of 3D data: your bad golf swing is much closer to a great one than you've been led to believe. Almost every move golfers think of as a major fault (the flip, the shift off the ball, the trail leg thrusting forward) is actually the natural, athletic movement done at the wrong time, not the opposite of what good players do. The problem is that the instruction industry has spent years teaching the opposite. Take a player who flips and shaft-leans back, then tries to fix it by shoving the hands forward into 14 or 18 degrees of shaft lean, and you've sent them further from the truth, not closer. We get into why zero (or even 2 degrees back) is closer to the tour average than the extreme numbers golfers chase, why the rib-cracker and pinched-arm drills hurt more than they help, what Scott Hamilton says about taking shaft lean OUT of players, and why the club champions at every course are more lined up at impact than any of these forced positions. Plus: the Bryson divot photo everyone misreads, "science evolves one funeral at a time," Webb's Windows and the ranges that actually matter, and why every choice in your swing has a consequence. Give yourself some grace, learn the good ranges, and be careful where you get your information. 👉 FREE: Add Instant Distance With This GO-TO "Distance Injection" DRILL: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/distance Chapters: 00:00 Bad swings are closer to good swings than you think 00:35 How the instruction industry teaches the opposite 01:00 The flip vs forcing too much shaft lean forward 01:18 The natural athletic move done at the wrong time 01:46 The punch-shot method that ruined his release 02:34 Why pinching the ball between your arms is so bad 02:58 The rotating arm action of good players 03:20 Why he can't get under 10 degrees of shaft lean now 03:51 The "opposite" that's all over Instagram & YouTube 04:18 Club champions everywhere are lined up, not forward 04:42 Rory, Aaron Rai, and the straightest hitters 05:00 The bowed-wrist trend vs the best players 05:20 Where that method actually came from (a "look") 05:55 The rib-cracker drill (and the bruise as a badge) 06:29 Scott Hamilton: taking shaft lean OUT of players 06:45 The 135-foot-high 7-iron college kid 07:07 Why this one's personal (the locked lead arm) 07:28 The leg thrust: closer than pinning the trail leg back 08:14 The winners all make the same big movements 09:02 Too big a shift off the ball (still closer than you think) 09:20 "Rein it in, don't do the opposite" 09:30 The Arm Shark analogy for over-correcting 10:25 The clubface-matching-spine myth 11:00 The Bryson divot photo everyone misreads 11:32 The Ben Hogan rubber-tee photo 11:54 "Science evolves one funeral at a time" 12:50 Why zero shaft lean is closer to the tour average 13:35 Tour players who played themselves OFF tour 13:56 The food & starvation analogy 14:44 How this made them better teachers (leave more alone) 15:21 Webb's Windows: the ranges that matter 15:47 Rotation at impact: huge range, least correlation 16:12 Why 4 degrees of shaft lean beats 14 for most golfers 16:32 Be careful where you get your information 16:51 Why your drills leave "fingerprints" in your swing 17:32 Natural vs manufactured movement patterns 17:51 Give yourself grace, get a qualified eye 18:13 Learn the good ranges (2 to 8 degrees of shaft lean) 18:51 Choices and consequences #golf #golfswing #golfpodcast #shaftlean #golftips
For today's podcast, Mike Granato & Shaun Webb's guest is Nick Duffy, Director of Instruction at Athletic Motion Golf and coach of the 2024 NCAA individual champion. Nick started working with his star pupil at 14 and rebuilt an unorthodox, already-winning swing into a championship game...so we dug into everything he's learned about developing junior golfers, and why so much talent gets wasted. We cover the growth-spurt "drop-off" (why bones grow first, muscles second, and the nervous system last — and what it does to a young swing), the two things that quietly end junior careers, how over-involved parents can drive a kid out of the game, and the coach-vs-parent line (the famous Butch Harmon & Earl Woods conversation). Nick shares his student's wild path — two years of Singapore military service, visualizing his swing on a Navy boat, then qualifying for a college event straight off the boat — and the mental fortitude that mattered more than any technique. Plus: building a backup shot for the days your swing isn't there, the "smaller field" mindset, and inside-the-ropes stories from the 2024 Masters and US Open at Pinehurst. Then we get into instruction: why the trail arm is the #1 fault masking everything else, the "parlor trick" of fixing the backswing so impact fixes itself, why the best players want the simplest information, and why your body pivot has to match your shot shape. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency Chapters: 00:00 Meet Nick Duffy — coach of a 2024 NCAA champion 00:36 Taking over his star pupil at 14 01:00 Coaching juniors as their bodies change 01:49 Bones, muscles, nervous system: the growth-spurt drop-off 02:37 Why being a world-beater at 12 doesn't matter 02:54 The two things that end junior careers 03:08 The world-beater who got caught at 12 03:48 Juniors who've never faced adversity 04:04 How to manage the parents 04:33 "I need a parent so I can be the coach" (Butch & Earl) 05:38 The COVID parent problem: too many cooks 06:18 The dad who drives his kid out of the game 07:10 Developing talent: what to lean into, what to avoid 07:53 Mental toughness as the building block 08:00 Periodization: train to play, don't play to train 09:22 What made him stand out: always ready to work 10:11 20 coaches following him at the Junior Jones Cup 10:37 The "funnel": each level sheds a quirk 11:18 Why coaches fear changing a winning junior 12:33 Two years of Singapore military service 12:53 Visualizing his swing on a Navy boat 13:14 Qualifying straight off the boat at Georgia Tech 14:11 Why mental fortitude beats technique 15:02 David Toms: his A-game in only 20% of his wins 15:22 Building a backup shot for bad days 16:08 Golf's version of "setting a screen" 17:23 Why average players give up (and champions don't) 19:10 The "smaller field" mental trick 20:50 "Good luck doing that four days in a row" 21:46 Why male juniors have no sense of mortality 22:06 His rise at Georgia Tech & winning the NCAA title 23:02 Inside the 2024 Masters & US Open (Pinehurst) 24:34 What Pinehurst exposed in his game 25:46 His game now: driving & putting are the keys 26:02 The best wedge game Bruce Heppler ever saw 26:18 Turning pro & the DP World Tour plan 26:43 From champions to guys breaking 85 27:42 What Gears would've changed years ago 28:23 Why the tech makes change simple ("a feel machine") 30:33 The trail arm: the amateur's #1 issue 31:46 How tour trends (like DJ) creep into your swing 32:27 Why golfers are the worst at diagnosing themselves 35:28 The scratch golfer who canceled for "too simple" 36:03 What a champion works on now: setup & backswing 37:00 The new trail-arm training aid 37:17 The "parlor trick": fix the backswing, impact follows 39:13 The mental stick-to-itness a swing change takes 41:27 Closing advice for strugglers & junior parents 42:00 Why your pivot has to match your shot shape 42:59 Make sure your coach knows their tech (2.5D vs 3D) 43:41 The parent lesson: include them, don't fight them 44:14 "Timmy's not Tiger" — find a better path #golf #golfpodcast #athleticmotiongolf #golftips
Over 10 million swings have now been captured on the Swing Coach app and one pattern dominates: the club sucked inside on the takeaway, then thrown steep and over the top coming down. Walk any driving range and you'll see this "sledgehammer" move everywhere. In this video we break down why it's so hard to play good golf from there, and exactly how to fix it — starting where it actually begins: the takeaway. We cover why we're "backswing teachers" (organize the backswing and the downswing largely fixes itself), why the pros' simpler moves — arms in front, a decent pivot, nothing too sideways — are the reason they can rely on them, and why chasing outliers like Jim Furyk is a losing bet. Then we walk through the real fix using Swing Coach's instant feedback: why your first true on-plane takeaway will feel like a "10 outside," why you have to push way past what feels right, how to get through the bad shots as your release pattern catches up, and the "parlor trick" of fixing a steep downswing without ever talking about the downswing. You can't afford a tour coach standing next to you every swing — but the app gives you that instant "too much / not enough" feedback so you can finally train your feel on your own. 👉 FREE TWO-WEEK TRIAL To The Best Golf Practice App Ever!👇 https://athleticmotiongolf.com/swing-coach 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency Chapters: 00:00 Over 10 million swings on Swing Coach 00:26 Golf's most common pattern: inside & steep 01:00 The "sledgehammer" swing that rules the range 01:23 Even scratch golfers who do it have holes 01:44 Why you can't change direction from inside 02:04 Technically possible, but not likely for you 02:23 Our philosophy: organize the backswing (Scott Hamilton) 02:42 "Tell the average golfer to do that" — who this is for 03:22 If inside/over-the-top was best, the tour would do it 03:45 The lottery analogy 04:03 Why vanilla swings are easier to maintain 04:25 "I don't have time to hit balls like a pro" 04:42 Pros grind for tight margins, not complex moves 05:35 Pulling the arms in = disconnected & out of sequence 05:56 The outlier trap (Jim Furyk) 06:41 Back to Swing Coach: keep doing it, or change 06:59 Attacking the inside-up-steep pattern 07:22 Get the backswing mass in a spot that shallows 07:40 Your first on-plane takeaway feels "10 outside" 08:17 Why it has to feel so drastic at first 08:37 "What to work on" is the first 5 minutes of a lesson 09:41 "Did I do it?" — intent isn't change 10:21 Why you never push far enough past your feel 10:41 Arguing with the app (and losing) 11:17 Do something that feels silly 11:54 Getting through the bad shots (the release) 12:27 Why we use foam balls 12:48 The "parlor trick": fix the takeaway, ignore the downswing 13:00 Physically setting the player in position 13:39 Shallow, on plane, with shaft lean — first time ever 14:17 Be an athlete in the downswing, not a corrector 14:35 Why Scott Hamilton teaches the backswing 14:59 The downswing changes from the backswing change 15:09 How to eat an elephant: one bite at a time 15:34 Get the free trial — take it on the course 15:50 Check your swing report over a few days 16:13 Train your feel on your own #golf #golfswing #overthetop #insidetakeaway #golftips #swingcoach
On this episode of the Athletic Motion Golf Podcast, Mike Granato and Shaun Webb reveal something they've spent over 10 years building. After more than a decade giving 3D lessons, we kept seeing the same fault in 99% of golfers: the trail arm. It over-bends, pulls behind the rib cage, and lowers — and that combination is what sends the club steep and over the top in transition. We tried every training aid out there to fix it, and never loved any of them: they were cumbersome, they didn't fit every arm, and worst of all, most did the work FOR you — so nothing transferred once you took them off. So we built our own. In this episode we walk through the whole journey...the forearm braces golfers used as a "door stop," the velcroed squeaky dog toys, the adult swimmies (yes, the Nelly Korda ones), and the version with teeth that "chewed up my arm like a shark" — right up to the finished design: the Arm Shark. It gives you two kinds of instant feedback — a tactile give and an audible click — the moment your trail arm bends too much, so you do 100% of the movement yourself. No app, no Bluetooth, just old-school analog pass/fail. In testing we're seeing 30–40° of arm-bend change in just a few swings, and it works for the takeaway, the downswing (staying wide like Hunter Mahan), setup, and short game. It ships with three fins for every arm type and skill level. This kicks off the next phase of AMG — turning a decade of data into tools that make these concepts tangible in your very next practice session. 👉 Get the Arm Shark: https://armsharkgolf.com Chapters: 00:00 A role reversal — and something new 00:14 How this all came to be 00:29 The same faults, lesson after lesson, in 3D 00:44 The trail arm: golf's #1 problem 01:24 Over-bent, pulled behind, and lowered 01:49 Why that creates a steep, over-the-top move 01:56 We tried every training aid out there 02:12 The fatal flaw: they do the work for you 02:35 Why the trail side is "out of sight, out of mind" 03:21 The real test: does it transfer without the aid? 04:10 What we wanted: tactile AND audible feedback 05:00 Show & tell: the forearm brace 05:37 Why your forearm can't feel it (the "door stop") 06:04 It actually made arm-lowering worse 06:31 The velcroed squeaky dog toys 07:32 The adult swimmies (yes, the Nelly Korda ones) 07:54 The "cast" problem: it springs back worse 09:01 Making golfers "pay a price": the teeth version 09:45 "It chewed up my arm like a shark" 10:07 Letting Mother Nature design it 10:56 The breaking fin → the audible click 11:17 Introducing the Arm Shark 11:40 How it works: the click and the give 12:24 Fixing the "lawnmower" takeaway 12:42 30-40° of change in a few swings 13:23 Using it for setup & fin rotation 14:20 Three fins: over-bender, pro, and the "Rory" fin 15:25 Multi-size: bicep or forearm, any arm 15:51 So light you can wear it on the course 17:16 The biggest problem in golf, solved analog 17:38 No app, no Bluetooth — just pass/fail 18:08 It becomes a game in a couple swings 18:52 It works in the downswing too (stay wide) 19:13 Hunter Mahan's wide-arm move 19:36 Why not folding = a shallower club 20:21 AMG's next phase: from concepts to tools 22:36 How to get your Arm Shark #golf #golfswing #golftraining #armshark #golftips #overthetop
Every time a pro wins with a quirky move, it shows up on the lesson tee the next week.... the bowed wrist, the foot hop, the "swing that will revolutionize golf." We all love an outlier, and we all think we're one magic bullet away. In this episode of the Athletic Motion Golf Podcast, Mike Granato & Shaun Webb break down why copying those moves is the fastest way to wreck your golf swing, and what you should be stealing from tour players instead. The real answer is their mindset and how they practice: low ball counts, rehearsal swings, verifying every feel against Gears, TrackMan, or video instead of trusting feel alone, and practicing with a plan rather than reacting to the last shot you hit. We get into honest swing-change timelines (why a tour coach will tell a player it might take two years), the 1%-a-day math, the ladder to unconscious competence, why bad concepts are the easiest to ingrain and the hardest to undo, Tony Ruggerio's 3x5 note card system, and why filming your on-course swing — not your basement swing — is the only way to see what you're actually changing. You're striping it on the range, then somewhere between the range and the first tee your swing vanishes — "where did that guy go?" It happens to everyone, and in today's Athletic Motion Golf Podcast, Shaun Webb and Mike Granato break down exactly why, and how to bring your range swing to the course. Launch monitor ownership among amateurs has exploded. Trackman, Foresight, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell...everyone has one at home now, and everyone is chasing numbers. Shaun Webb and Mike Granato from Athletic Motion Golf open the conversation with the honest working truth of every measurement tool. The launch monitor tells you what happened at impact. 3D tells you why it happened. And when you use only the former, you end up doing what tour pros used to do when Trackman first hit the scene. You Trackman your way off the tour. The specific pitfalls hit hard. Winter indoor practice with a launch monitor produces a swing built for the simulator, not the golf course. The launch monitor only knows where straight is relative to where it's set up. You can stand on your head and put a zero path number up if you aim right. The simulator's four walls do the aiming work for you. The 550-yard par 5 doesn't. And once you see a red number, the temptation is to contort your downswing to fix a symptom while the actual cause (setup, backswing sway, spine lean) sits untouched. Shaun tells the story of the scratch golfer he grew up playing with who was a club champion. He sliced it all around the course, but he knew exactly what the ball was going to do every time. Give him a Trackman and tell him minus 8 path is bad, and he would never have broken 100 again. The fix is a philosophy. Understand the tool's limitations. Understand how to use the tool. Then understand how to use the data. Attack the earliest thing in the swing that is broken. Get out of the parking lot before you worry about which street to turn down. Welcome to the swing confessional. Shaun Webb and Mike Granato from Athletic Motion Golf open up about every dumb thing they bought, built, or did in the name of getting better at golf before they had GEARS, force plates, or any way to actually measure what works. Their stories are funny, painful, and brutally honest. The kind of stuff most golf coaches would never admit to a camera. The PVC pipe SAM 2000 ring that gave Shaun two months of shanks before his first season in Maine. The Mark Brooks strap-and-cuffs system that gave him the laterals. Mike convincing his dad to buy a brand-new Brute garbage can so he could cut the rim off and duct-tape it to the wall to swing inside. Shaun's wholesale Bob Mann's Automatic Golf rebuild two weeks before his state championship (he somehow hit 17 greens — still praising Bob Mann). The Killer B driver with the 46-inch shaft. The Viper Bite sandpaper-faced wedge. The original Medicus breakaway and the friend who bought one in a pro shop and shanked the first four approach shots of a money game with money on every hole. Plus the methodology spectrum that traps so many golfers (one extreme to the other), the discovery that tour pros congregate in a tight "AMG window" of about 8-10 parameters, and why Shaun's nephew growing up now has access to information that Shaun and Mike spent decades wishing they had. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency CHAPTERS 00:00 Opening The Swing Confessional 00:29 Shaun's First Set Of Clubs. "For anyone taking on the task of improving their golf swing... you have to F your feels." Your feels are a memory. They're not a movement. They degrade over time, they're the worst possible anchor for changing a real motor pattern, and they're the number one reason why "I tried it and it didn't work" means literally nothing in a golf lesson. Shaun and Mike from Athletic Motion Golf break down the lesson moment every golfer has been through...making a swing, being asked "did you do it?" and answering "I felt like I did" — only to pull up GEARS and see zero change. The fix is the same every time: slow down to about 45-50 mph (which feels like 3 mph), let your brain catch up with the club, actually feel the new move in real time. Then build the reps back up by 5 mph at a time. Plus the Tiger Woods quote about feel matching real, the Hank Haney concept that you can't teach a slicer to hit it straight (you have to teach him slice to hook to good golf), the Disney Grand Prix guardrail analogy that finally explains why "outside by five" is what neutral feels like when you're stuck inside by five, and the brutal "I have five swings" lesson moment that exposes why most golfers think they have control they don't actually have. 🎁 FREE Training Here: Unlock Tour-like Compression For Free Here 👇https://athleticmotiongolf.com/compression CHAPTERS: 00:00 F Your Feels. 00:25 Why Feels Aren't Real 00:48 Feel Is A Memory. Most golf training aids will make you worse...and the average golfer doesn't know. Shaun Webb and Mike Granato from Athletic Motion Golf pull back the curtain on training aids: the ones they actually recommend, the ones that quietly train the OPPOSITE movement of what you're trying to fix, and the simple criteria every training aid has to pass to be worth your money. The big rule: a training aid should give you feedback, not do the work for you. If it restricts you into the right position (rails, arm tubes, swimming pool noodles, butt-band restrictors), your muscles are training to push AGAINST the restriction — which means as soon as you take it off, you've ingrained the exact pattern you were trying to change. Shaun's confession about the swing jacket is the perfect cautionary tale. Thousands of balls trained the wrong move. Plus the Greg Rose TPI concept of "use the opposite" (pull the golfer toward the bad move so they have to engage the right muscles to counter it), why the Hits Driver is one of the only training aids on AMG's recommendation list, and why the camera + foam ball + Swing Coach app combo is the most underrated training aid setup you already own. And the bonus: camera perspective and lens distortion in golf swing video — why the iPhone "3D" apps that point at a laptop screen produce horrific data, and why your swing looks completely different from four cameras three feet apart. Why do so many golf lessons fail? It's not always the coach. It's not always the player. It's usually the conversation that never happened between them. In today's Athletic Motion Golf Podcast, Shaun Webb and Mike Granato break down both sides of the golf lesson equation. The player side (what to expect, what to ask, what to demand) and the coach side (the resort lesson vs. the player development lesson, why setting expectations matters, why measurement beats opinion). Plus the three reasons most lessons fail and the simple formula that fixes it. The framework. Good information + correct application + repetition = improvement. If you're not getting better, one of those three is off. That's it. There's no magic secret formula. There's no special drill that unlocks the swing. The work happens between lessons, and the feedback loop is what separates real improvement from "I think I'm doing it right." Shaun shares his own story — two years to build a swing flaw he was taught (too much shaft lean), over ten years to unlearn it. A 5 to 1 ratio. Plus the Grant Hill path-fix example that shows why a coach has to walk you through what's coming next, the social media posed-before-and-after problem, and why having a swing coach app on every swing has been a complete game changer. 🎁 FREE Training Here: Unlock Tour-like Compression For Free Here 👇https://athleticmotiongolf.com/compression Follow AMG: Instagram: @athleticmotiongolf Facebook: Athletic Motion Golf CHAPTERS 00:00 Why Most Golfers Have Had Bad Lessons 00:43 The Flat Tire Vs Motor Pattern Problem 02:21 What Is A Resort Lesson? 04:41 The Questions A Good Coach Should Ask You 06:38 The Grant Hill Story. The most misunderstood thing in the entire golf swing. Impact doesn't happen on the front side of your body. It happens on the trail side. Shaun Webb and Mike Granato break down the concept that almost no golf instruction teaches — and the reason every cartoonish impact pose, rib-cracker drill, and "swing your arms across" cue has been training you toward the opposite of what every tour player actually does. The pie chart breakdown explains it cleanly: at impact, your body has rotated open, and the ball, hands, lead elbow, and club are all in the trail-side 60-degree pie of your pelvis. Not the front side. Not where you've been practicing for years. When you understand where impact really lives, you stop forcing the contorted poses, you stop shoving the hands forward, and you let body rotation deliver shaft lean and shallowing for free. Tour average shaft lean is only 7.98 degrees. The obsession with massive lean is misplaced. Position the body correctly and everything else follows. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency Follow AMG: Instagram: @athleticmotiongolf Facebook: Athletic Motion Golf CHAPTERS 00:00 What's The Most Misunderstood Thing About The Golf Swing? 00:22 The Maine Clinic Story. You can take a lesson from the best coach in the world and still waste your money. Not because the instruction is bad. Because of how you take the lesson! Shaun Webb and Mike Granato from Athletic Motion golf break down the player's side of the equation... the part almost nobody talks about. How to show up, what information to give your coach, why racing through a bucket of balls ruins everything, why you have to ignore your feels and the strike when you're making a mechanical change, and why every real swing change takes months, not one range session. This is the mindset and the method that separates golfers who get max value out of a lesson from golfers who walk away frustrated and no better. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency CHAPTERS: 00:00 The Two Halves Of A Golf Lesson 00:47 How To Show Up. The follow-up to the Bad Swing Advice Hall of Fame is finally here. After the first podcast, Mike Granato & Shaun Webb were flooded the comments with one reques... do the BEST swing advice version. So Shaun and Mike sat down and inducted the cues they use to fix more amateur swings than anything else. The first inductee alone fixes 999 out of 1000 golfers. The trail arm has to lift and stay wide in the backswing. Almost every amateur lowers it. Almost every tour player lifts it. It's the single most common move that separates the buckets. They also induct Scott Hamilton's "on plane early" cue, the recentering concept that AMG named years ago, the Lazy Susan downswing, the "no hip turn in the backswing" foundation (with a nod to Dr. Kwon's "turn shoulders, tilt hips"), and the driver tip that finally lines up the clubface without forcing shaft lean. These are the cues AMG uses to coach players off the hamster wheel and into real ball striking improvement. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency CHAPTERS 00:00 Welcome to the Best Swing Advice Hall of Fame 00:50 Inductee #1. 99% of golfers are lowering their trail arm in the backswing. Tour players lift it. This single move is the difference between a swing with power and a swing stuck in a plateau.
