Send us Fan Mail The Minnesota Twins drop 2 of 3 to the Cleveland Guardians at Target Field. The guys are disappointed in the Twins showing, but they couldn't hide their glee at the Vikings victory over the Packers. Dan is wondering if he should be nervous about Joe Ryan's rocky return from injury, but David tries his best to calm his fears. David is wondering if Derek Shelton second guessed his decision to use Gomez in a non-save situation, while Dan wants to know what will this outfield look like next season. Dan is also curious if we will ever see a Prime-Non-Injured Byron Buxton ever again. Thanks for listening, and as always, go Twins! Send us Fan Mail Dan and Hoges are hanging onto the smallest bit of hope now after the Twins lost two of three in Detroit to the Tigers. Hoges, filling in for David, still needs to see the Minnesota Twins lose to the Cleveland Guardians to truly let go of any playoff hopes, even though his heart gave up after Game 1 of this series. Dan is already looking toward the offseason, but he's wondering whether Walker Jenkins is going to produce better next year than he has so far. When trying to explain what has gone wrong in August and September, Hoges points to something about every aspect of the team. He's also wondering: What are the Twins doing with Trevor Larnach? Send us Fan Mail It might be the end ... but maybe it's not the end. It's been hard to tell just when, exactly, the Minnesota Twins season is or will be over from a playoff hopes standpoint. Surely, though, losing two out of three to the Chicago White Sox did not help their cause. David and Dan discuss how much hope they should have left and when we should be turning focus to how what remains of this season could affect the 2027 season. David is looking at Ryan Jeffers and sees a lot of senioritis; Dan is asking whether it's time to shut down Byron Buxton and the other veterans. They look around at the scandal at Coors Field and also the scandal in Ann Arbor, and they harbor enough hope on this season to make their picks for the Tigers series. Send us Fan Mail There is less than a month of the regular season remaining and the Minnesota Twins continue to tread water along the edge of the wild card following a series win over the Detroit Tigers. Both David and Dan lament the Game 3 loss and all the chances the Twins had to win it before the Tigers did. David is happy to see Derek Shelton doing everything he can to win games; Dan likes what he sees when Kody Clemens hits a home run. They are perplexed as to how the Twins will explain not calling up Walker Jenkins earlier, and they both are excited about what the future holds for this team as they hope for baseball in 2027. Send us Fan Mail The Minnesota Twins drop 2 of 3 to the Chicago White at Target Field in Minneapolis. "The Chaos" Andrew "Hoges" Hoganson fills in for Dan and the boys try and keep their spirits high feeling that the postseason chances are slipping away from the Twins. Hoges is pumped about Walker Jenkins MLB debut, and David relishes Luke Keaschall's stellar series performance. David gives his plug for the Minnesota State Fair, while Hoges tries to start an international conflict. The guys look forward to what this roster may look like in 2027, and breakdown the Twins remaining schedule. Thanks for listening, and as always, go Twins! Send us Fan Mail Much to the disappointment of David and Dan, and most certainly the Minnesota Twins as well, the Twins lose two of three in Sacramento to the Athletics, the team with the worst record in the American League. And to make it worse, Byron Buxton has aggravated his hip injury. David analyzes that play and worries that Luke Keaschall may not be up to the task of playing center field. Dan is curious if Derek Shelton has a little Herb Brooks in him, and David delves again into the murky waters of Walker Jenkins' call-up status. There is still hope, they agree, but that hope is slim, and much rides on the next stretch of series against AL Central teams. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! Send us Fan Mail The back-and-forth nature of the Minnesota Twins' relationship with the National League continued this weekend as the Twins lost all three games they played in San Diego to the surging Padres. David got the result he expected, though he and Dan hoped for better in Game 2. Dan has questions for Derek Shelton about his pitching choices in Game 1, but David defends the manager's work in Game 2. David has yet to hear a good argument about when it's OK to change your fandom, though Dan sees a way to make it legitimate. They both are confused about Luke Keaschall's haircut, and they question Kaelen Culpepper's judgment at shortstop. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! Send us Fan Mail In one of the bigger surprises of a surprising season, the Minnesota Twins didn't just beat the Atlanta Braves in a series -- they swept them at Target Field. David, fresh off attending two of the games, is full of praise for manager Derek Shelton, for DH Josh Bell and for many more members of a team that is now alone in the third AL wild card position. Dan is still hung up on the absence of Walker Jenkins and the call-up instead of Alex Jackson. Both are happy to see the success of the Twins' bullpen since the deadline. Send us Fan Mail After looking as if they might salvage a victory in this three-game series, the Minnesota Twins get swept by the Philadelphia Phillies: one game in Iowa and two more at Target Field. David, who was in Iowa for its state fair, sees the Minnesota State Fair as far better than what Iowa offered. Dan is convinced that he must make a trip to the Field of Dreams at some point, even if the Twins aren't playing there. Both of them are still hopeful about the Twins' chances considering the schedule ahead, and they are curious to see who gets called up to take Austin Martin's spot after the outfielder injured his hamstring on Sunday. Send us Fan Mail Playing at home for the first time in August, the Minnesota Twins took two of three games against the Baltimore Orioles, a fellow AL Wild Card contender. David mounts a defense of Alan Roden that frankly confuses Dan, who is ready to send Roden back to Triple-A to clear a roster spot for Byron Buxton. They are equally mixed on what to do with Kaelen Culpepper while being impressed with the play lately from Josh Bell in the DH spot. They discuss the strange play in the Blue Jays-Red Sox game earlier this week as well as a darkhorse bid for an MLB expansion team. And then, of course, they make their picks for a fun series against the Philadelphia Phillies, which opens at the Field of Dreams in Iowa. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! Send us Fan Mail After the Minnesota Twins took the first game in this three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers, David and Dan found themselves wanting another victory. But they and the Twins settle for just one in this border battle against the National League's best team. David shares his experiences from watching the Savannah Bananas at Target Field with his family, and he works through the ups and downs of Royce Lewis' performance this series. Dan is pleased to see Kody Funderburk's excellent play over the last couple of months, and he, like David, thinks that if Kaelen Culpepper is on this team, surely Walker Jenkins should be, too. Send us Fan Mail It wasn't the outcome that might have been expected after the way the Minnesota Twins handled the MLB trade deadline, but the Twins do come away with one victory in Kansas City, and they still managed to keep pace in the AL Central. David and Dan discuss the close competition for playoff spots in the American League and how they think the Twins will figure in that as they head into a difficult stretch of opponents. They are at odds over whether Tom Pohlad can be trusted, even after coming through with some trades this week. But they are in agreement that Royce Lewis looks great, Joe Ryan should have said something earlier, and that there are two key prospects waiting in St. Paul who should no longer be waiting for their call-up. Send us Fan Mail The Minnesota Twins lost two of three to the Seattle Mariners, both of them in walk-off fashion, ending a series that felt eerily like the Twins' last trip to Seattle -- and in a way, much like an inversion of their most recent series against the Kansas City Royals. Hoges fills in for the traveling David again to discuss the series with Dan, who was able to attend all three games in Seattle. Dan pins a lot of blame on the starters' troubles in the first inning, and Hoges pins plenty of blame on Royce Lewis for his mishandling of the last play of Game 2. They also discuss the future of Trevor Larnach, Victor Caratini and Alex Jackson, and they assess the new bullpen order after the trades this week. Thanks for listening, and go Twins! Send us Fan Mail Sandwiched around one of their most disappointing games of the season were two of the Minnesota Twins' most exciting ones, with walk-off hits from Royce Lewis and Kody Clemens giving them a series victory over the visiting Kansas City Royals. Andrew "Hoges" Hoganson fills in for David and raves about the walk-offs as well as the Twins' bullpen, which made both the victories possible. Dan stands pat with his feelings about the trade deadline, while Hoges is still prepared to trade one of the team's key players so long as Minnesota gets a good return. They look around the league at Tariq Skubal's possible landing spots, and generally they just bask in the joy of watching a team in late July contend for the playoffs. Send us Fan Mail The Minnesota Twins took two of three from the visiting Athletics and gained a little ground on their AL Central Division rivals as the race tightens one week ahead of the trade deadline. David grills Dan for his opinion about which players should be traded before then; Dan is wondering how the Twins find a way to get Walker Jenkins onto this roster. David praises the pitching staff's performance but questions Derek Shelton's use of a newly healthy reliever, and Dan slips up and calls the Twins' third catcher by the wrong first name. Send us Fan Mail Despite the Minnesota Twins' series loss at the Chicago Cubs, David and Dan still have much to discuss. David is clear-minded and very upset about how Game 2 ended, even as he continues to support Luke Keaschall in all of his baseball tools. Dan insists on challenging David's ability to do simple math. Send us Fan Mail The Minnesota Twins win yet another series, their eighth over the last nine, and head into the All-Star Break one win under .500 at 48-49. David continues to defend Derek Shelton's creative use of Luke Keaschall, who had ups and downs during this series against the Los Angeles Angels. Dan is pleased with how Shelton handled the pitching staff and how he's basically helped this team become exactly what Dan thought it would be at this point in the season. David and Dan discuss whether Ryan Jeffers will be with the Twins long term (or even for the rest of this season) and then make their picks for Minnesota's next series, which will be in Chicago after the Break. Send us Fan Mail The Minnesota Twins win their seventh series in their last eight, giving David and Dan plenty to discuss after the Twins take two of three games against the rival Cleveland Guardians at Target Field. While David laments that the Twins didn't do more to win Game 3 and secure a sweep, he still really likes what he saw from Taj Bradley and wants the Twins to lock him into a long-term deal now. Dan is confused about what the Twins are doing in the field positionally, though David has no issues with the approach. Send us Fan Mail With Dan back on the show and back in the country, he and David celebrate a Fourth of July weekend that includes a Minnesota Twins series victory at Yankee Stadium, where the Twins took two of three. Riding high after attending a St. Paul Saints game, David is riding high about not just the Triple-A squad but also the Big League one, and he wonders if it's time to go all-in on the Twins. Dan praises manager Derek Shelton's handling of the lineup over the last couple of weeks. Both David and Dan are eager to see the next round of call-ups as the Twins enter the final week before the All-Star Break. Thanks for listening, and go Twins!
