A finish worthy of the fandom on hand to celebrate the insane conclusion to the inaugural Philippines Pro Presented by Philippines Sporting Commission, crowning Caity Simmers and Gabriel Medina the event victors. An relentless charge from Simmers overcame all the obstacles from stitches in her foot and sending herself over the falls countless times to rise above the rest for her first win of 2026. Simmers kicked off Finals Day in a battle with 5x World Champion Carissa Moore, and kept her composure in hectic moments as a priority interference was called on Moore following a block on the previous wave. Then, Simmers took that steam into the Final against Cinderella story Isabella Nichols, who had surgery eight weeks ago following Fiji and found herself in back-to-back CT Finals after besting 2x World Champ Tyler Wright. But, it was all Simmers before the men’s Final provided fireworks. Three-time World Champion Gabriel Medina conquered a pivotal Finals Day in the Philippines to set himself for a fourth World Title after unleashing his El Monstro form. Medina went toe-to-toe with World No. 1, reigning World Champion, Yago Dora, in an airshow for the books before finding arguably the barrel of the entire week against Jack Robinson in the Final. The score nearly touched perfection, earning a 9.43, and paired that with his 7.50 have Robinson in a major combination. But, Robinson fired back with excellence of his own before the ocean let him down for a comeback. The first-ever Philippines Pro went above and beyond. From the fans backing the world’s best and their own wildcard wonders, to some of the best high-performance showdowns of the season, Cloud 9 will have fans and athletes alike dreaming for years to come. Now, the full field is ready to return and play ultimate spoiler to the postseason success from Portugal to the Philippines at the Lexus Pipe Masters. Pipeline will once again crown surfing’s World Champion beginning December 8 through 20, and it’s all going down live on WorldSurfLeague.com. The first postseason stop crowned Molly Picklum and Griffin Colapinto the 2026 MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal Presented by Corona Cero champs, and the World Title race keeps heating up. A highly anticipated women’s Final provided the goods between two of modern surfing’s leading World Title contenders. 2024 World Champion Caity Simmers and reigning World Champ Molly Picklum took on the pumping Portuguese Pipeline in defining form. Simmers’ lead was cut short by Picklum after locking into a gem, only to reemerge with the roar of the crowd for a 7.83. It was all Picklum, who now takes over the Yellow Leaders Jersey leaving the Old World and heads for more barrels. Then, a 3x World Champion, Gabriel Medina, and 2025 World Title runner-up, Griffin Colapinto, met in a defining Final showing. Medina wasted no time posting a near-excellent 7.67, but Colapinto wasn’t going down quietly and fired back with excellence, earning an 8.17. El Monstro, Medina, wasn’t done and disappeared with the crowd thinking he was gone and somehow reemerged for an 8.20 and took control. The Final still wasn’t done, delivering an 8.57 for Medina to push Colapinto against the ropes, and the two-time Portugal victor responded with an absolute bomb to post a 9.43 and hang firm to keep his perfect Portuguese Final streak alive to go 3-0. A clash of Brazilian World Champions set the tone for Finals Day between Medina and Italo Ferriera. Ferreira was on the hunt for a third Portugal podium, but Medina’s 8.17 shut down the hyperactive World Champ ahead of the Final. Then, Colapinto answered back in a World Title Match rematch against reigning World Champ and defending Portugal victor, Yago Dora, to set up his eventual runner-up finish. Now, the world’s best head for a new barreling venue of Cloud 9 with the same World Title pressure at the Philippines Pro Presented by Philippine Sports Commission beginning October 31 through November 10. After years of working toward the Championship Tour, Nadia Erostarbe is making her mark in her first full season, with semifinal finishes on the Gold Coast and in Brazil. Joining Dave Prodan alongside her performance coach Natalie Hummel, the Spanish surfer opens up about the highs and lows of her rookie year, the pressure of fighting to stay above the cut in 2025, and the mindset shift that helped her go from wondering if she belonged on tour to believing she could win CT events. The last trek across the tracks was well worth the walk to crown Erin Brooks and Miguel Pupo the 2026 Lexus Trestles Pro champs in picturesque conditions at Lower Trestles. History was rewritten by Brooks, joining the likes of Stephanie Gilmore with three consecutive CT wins in a single season and launching herself to No. 5 as a proper World Title threat. Then, Pupo’s passion took him all the way atop the podium with relentless excellence from start to finish, culminating in his third CT win. The new No. 1 Gabriela Bryan’s power went unmatched in the Quarterfinals, posting a 16.26 heat total over Luana Silva, and regained the Yellow Leaders Jersey ahead of then No. 1 Carissa Moore falling to an unstoppable Brooks. The 19-year-old phenom added a third World Champion to her road to victory at Trestles with Molly Picklum in the Semifinals before catapulting to No. 5 on the ranks. 2025 event finalists, reigning World Champion Yago Dora and Southern California’s own Kanoa Igarashi, commanded their Quarterfinal battles with Igarashi finding excellence over Marco Mignot before matching up with Dora in a grudge match. Igarashi kept surging alongside fellow CT veteran Miguel Pupo, who went next level over Mateus Herdy and Cole Houshmand on the road to his Final matchup against Igarashi where fireworks flew and ultimately crowned Pupo the champ. Houshmand’s unrivaled power provided a masterclass in the Quarterfinals to post an event-best 18.50 heat total in his all-Southern California clash with Jake Marshall, as Marshall’s efforts were enough to push him to the postseason. Now, the postseason separates the pack and all focus shifts toward a World Title surge at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal Presented by Corona Cero, beginning October 16 through 25 at the famed Supertubos of Peniche. Cloudbreak saved some of its best for last and delivered an iconic Finals Day at the Fiji Pro Presented by Corona Cero, crowning Cole Houshmand and Erin Brooks the champs. After another iconic run at Cloudbreak, Brooks' diamond double earned the Pacific Leg sweep and a second Fiji Pro title. An unfortunate injury in her Semifinal sidelined Isabella Nichols for what would've been fireworks in a Final of friends with Brooks. Now, Brooks sits at No. 8 on the rankings heading to Lower Trestles with a chance to truly put her name in the World Title race. An unprecedented run from Houshmand earned him a third CT win in three Final appearances, cementing himself across the world with victories at Bells Beach, Brazil, and now Fiji. Houshmand sent himself over the ledge throughout Finals Day, culminating in a masterful performance over one of the best to ever take on Cloudbreak, two-time Fiji Pro winner Gabriel Medina in a Final battle. Houshmand's excellence continued from posting a 9.43 in the Semifinals, to an excellent 8.50 over Medina. An insane exchange witnessed Houshmand's ridiculous power get matched by Medina's magic in the Cloudbreak barrel to post a Perfect 10. The End of the Road gave fans everything and more on an insane Finals Day at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA as Erin Brooks and Seth Moniz rose to Tahitian lore. Teahupo’o delivered a dreamy Finals Day conclusion to an all-time Tahiti Pro from start to finish. The women’s Final showdown will down in history as one of, if not the best, Final professional surfing could witness at Teahupo’o. 2025 CT Rookie of the Year phenom Erin Brooks and 2026 CT Rookie breakout Anat Lelior battled in the heaving arena with remarkable showings. Lelior had Brooks in an unprecedented position heading into the fading moments of the Final, leaving her in a 16.33 combination situation. But, Brooks fought back and found two incredible barrels, navigating in world-class fashion to post an 8.27 and 8.93 to claim her first-ever win as a full-time CTer, her second-career CT win. Brooks’ amazing journey to the Final encompassed reigning World Champion and Tahiti Pro champ, Molly Picklum, and best friend Isabella Nichols before one of the most amazing comebacks in surfing history. Then, it was a battle of brothers in the men’s Final between Seth Moniz and Griffin Colapinto. Colapinto’s start put Moniz against the ropes, who answered back in a big way to post an excellent 8.50 and then locked into a channel erupting 9.07 to leave Colapinto needing nothing short of perfection. Moniz felt all the love from the dedicated fans in the channel all the way to the end and hoisted his maiden CT glory after a hard-fought seven years on Tour. Moniz’s road to victory was absurdity. Taking down one of the world’s heaviest chargers in Alan Cleland before toppling 2024 Tahiti Pro winner, and 2019 World Champ, Italo Ferreira, then Colapinto in a massive Final. Defiant runs from Ramzi Boukhiam and Italo Ferreira concluded with Semifinal appearances, pushing Ferreira further atop the leaderboard. Boukhiam’s Quarterfinal performance went down as one of his best-career to date as he moves toward Fiji. Plus, breakout results in the 2026 season for Isabella Nichols and CT Rookie Yolanda Hopkins catapulted them into the requalification fight following Semifinal finishes of their own. The rankings have been rattled and the Pacific Leg is just getting started. A new men’s World No. 1 Italo Ferreira heads into the Fiji Pro Presented by Corona Cero ready to cement himself atop the rankings as Gabriela Bryan looks to bounce back from an early Tahiti exit and remain in the Yellow Leaders Jersey. The CT heads for the dream culture of Bula, and the world-class reef of Cloudbreak, beginning August 25 - September 4 where family, the ocean, and beauty meet. Then the event’s most consistent contender, Leonardo Fioravanti, completed his phenomenal surge all the way to a maiden CT victory over Italo Ferreira. Fioravanti’s third-career CT Final yielded his long-awaited breakthrough win after posting some of the event’s best performances from start to finish, including the event’s best single-score of a 9.00 in today’s Quarterfinals. Now, Moore moves to World No. 2, as Fioravanti jumps to World No. 3 heading to the VIVO Rio Pro with her family in full support. Plus, sensational runs at Punta Roca earned runner-up finishes for Wright and Ferreira. For Wright, this notes her first CT Final since her last win at Pipeline in 2025, and Ferreira now prepares to surge in home waters with the passion of their country backing him all the way after heroic performances.
