For over 25 years, Gabriel & Dresden have occupied a distinctive space in electronic music, combining new wave melancholia with the euphoric energy of progressive house and trance. Formed in 2001, the American duo of Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden established themselves through emotionally charged productions and remixes, earning 21 Billboard Dance Club Play number ones along the way. Their catalogue includes enduring tracks such as As The Rush Comes, released under their Motorcycle alias, Tracking Treasure Down and Dangerous Power. More recently, their creative partnership with vocalist Sub Teal produced two albums, The Only Road and Remedy, with a remix of the former’s title track earning a Grammy nomination. Drawing on decades of experience without becoming confined by nostalgia, Gabriel & Dresden continue to explore the emotional possibilities of dance music, balancing melodic introspection with the energy of the dancefloor. Hailing from La Rioja in Argentina, Juan Ibañez is part of a new generation of South American producers bringing fresh energy to the scene. His growing international profile has taken him across Europe, Asia and Latin America, while his productions continue to find an audience well beyond his native Argentina. In 2026, he collaborated on ‘Auralis’, a richly textured progressive house cut featured on the This Is Balance Croatia 2026 compilation. Beyond the studio, Ibañez is also the founder of Desierto, an event platform dedicated to developing electronic music culture in northern Argentina. On this Balance Selections, the producer shows his form though a hypnotic 2-hour mix. The title track ‘Run For Cover’ taps into the wide-eyed escapism of the mid-’90s without slipping into nostalgia. Psychedelic details flicker across the drums like LED trails in a dark room, while a restless walking bassline gives the whole thing a wonderfully physical pull. Elements drift in and out of focus, resisting an obvious genre tag while maintaining an easy, heads-down momentum. It’s progressive music in the literal sense: constantly moving, never particularly interested in announcing where it’s going next.

On “Stupa”, the mood opens outward. There’s an unmistakable Balearic quality to its sun-warmed percussion and serrated bassline,a groove that immediately suggests open-air dancefloors and late-afternoon light. A woozy synth gradually sends proceedings into more narcotic territory, while soft vocal fragments, keyboard flourishes and flashes of guitar keep one foot planted somewhere recognisably human. Nothing is hurried or overplayed. Instead, Warren lets each element breathe, resulting in the kind of patient, transportive dance music that comes from knowing exactly how little you need to do.

Colombian DJ NAJEYS has developed a sound rooted in the melodic and hypnotic strains of progressive house. With a background in vocals and percussion, she began exploring electronic music in 2016, developing an approach to DJing that balances driving rhythms, atmospheric textures and emotive melodies. A resident at Medellín’s Club Sonorama and winner of Colombia’s Best Progressive DJ award in 2022, NAJEYS has performed at major festivals across Colombia, Mexico, Curaçao and Argentina. She next opens for Martin Garrix at Medellín’s Davi Arena on December 5th, with new music also on the horizon. On this Balance Selections, she showcases a dense sound filled with dynamic tension. Solis [US] is the progressive and organic house project of Madison, Wisconsin-based producer David Hammond. His sound moves between melancholy and uplift, pairing rich melodic arrangements with organic textures and syncopated rhythms. That sensibility is evident on the Tisno EP, his recent two-track collaboration with Simply City and debut on Balance Music. Fernando Olaya is no stranger to Balance audiences. Alej Ch is a producer and DJ working across organic, deep and progressive house. His releases have appeared on labels including Warpp, Songuara and Melody of the Soul. A self-taught musician, he came to production through piano and guitar before developing a sound built around intricate melodies and dramatic flourishes. His recent work sits comfortably between the more organic end of house and deeper, club-focused territory. Lead cut ‘Find a Way’ draws on the genre’s classic foundations, built around a warm vocal sample and bubbling synths. A beautifully measured breakdown opens the track up, as melodic layers gather around the vocal before the groove locks back into place. On the optimistic ‘Hikari’, a rolling bassline drives the track forward with an infectious low-end pulse that will be difficult to ignore on the dancefloor. A stretched vocal sample drifts across uplifting melodic keys, creating a genuine feeling of space and freedom. In Japanese, hikari means “light”, a word often associated with hope, positivity and clarity. It’s a fitting title for a track that channels those exact qualities.

David Mayer’s sound reflects a life spent moving between cultures. Raised across Germany, Spain and Norway before settling in Berlin in 2004, he developed an approach to dance music that has never sat comfortably inside a single genre. House and techno form the foundation, but the real through-line is rhythm: funked-up low end, muscular four-on-the-floor grooves and a sense of swing that keeps even his deeper productions firmly connected to the dancefloor. As both a DJ and producer, Mayer favours music with weight and immediacy, balancing hypnotic detail with an instinct for hooks and forward motion. It’s a combination that has carried his work well beyond Berlin, while preserving the restless, open-ended character at the centre of his sound.
