The Commonwealth Games have a long and storied history but where do they fit in the modern sporting landscape? We discuss our favourite CWG memories from over the years before taking a deep dive onto what we're most looking forward to over the next week. To dispel rumours of a dramatic Backstraight bust-up our favourite lady is joining us to preview all the action at this weekend's mouth watering London Athletics Meet. With a season's best of 6.80cm last week, Jaz is in fine form to take her place in a stacked LJ field, but every event is star studded with Mondo, Marileidy, Oblique, Julien, Emmanuel, Yaroslava and Karsten all on the start lists. The Brits are out in force as well the likes of Keely, Josh, Dina, MHS, Zharnel, Morgan and Amy all looking to fine tune before the CWG's and Euro Champs. Unfortunately Georgia Hunter Bell, Charlie Morgan and Jake Wightman are all late withdrawals. Fingers crossed they have recovered before Glasgow. It was definitely worth the wait as the top performance came thick and extremely fast. The Brits did well with the likes of Max Burgin and Matt Hudson Smith shining whilst local legend Soufiane El Bakkali did what he always does and ended the meeting in style. There was lots at stake for the African nation as WA took this meet to the continent for the very let first, time but they exceeded all expectations with a slick and thrilling weekend of relay action.
